Hey there! If you are like us, you're starting to glance at the calendar and wonder where all that time has gone. Please remember, for the sake of your sanity, that we will still welcome your submissions even after the event week has passed, though of course we are all aiming for the end of the month as the ideal goal. Also, in the spirit of inclusivity, we would like to announce a new feature for this year's ThorBruce week: miniposting!

We realize that everybody has stuff going on in their lives and sometimes deadlines can sneak up on you or sometimes you're just not in the right frame of mind to pump out a 5K story/fully inked masterpiece for each prompt. However, that doesn't mean it has to stop you from participating in the festivities during (and beyond) event week! This can also be done in conjunction with regular posting, of course.

See that ask ("Have you a query?") button? Just hit that and drop us a blurb.  A headcanon. A sentence. A what if! Some adapted song lyrics! Keep your blog attached or go anonymous, it's up to you. Or if you have something more involved with formatting or graphics, use the "Submit a Post" option. We post it to the event blog. Everyone profits!

Dylan Rhodes considered himself a patient man. He had bided his time for years -- decades -- to pull off the most intricate and elaborate of plans, gone deep undercover, created illusions that entranced enormous audiences. So when, a year after he had disappeared from public to start a new life leading a super secret organization, what he did not expect was to be contacted by an even larger super secret organization for an even more complicated and delicate mission. They needed a man with his specific skill set, they'd explained. Interesting how these things seemed to spiral outwards. Now here they were, in a shabby roadside motel that smelled of gasoline and old potato chips, and he was not feeling particularly patient anymore.

Thor’s hands.

When you look at how big and strong the guy is, you really would think that he always has a firm grip and calloused palms. Hell, from how tightly he grasps Mjolnir you would be under the impression he couldn’t touch anything mortal without it shattering.

But it’s not like that.

Sure his hands are large could squeeze anyone like a vice, but most of the time...he’s gentle and soft...when he needs to be.

When he lightly grabs a flask to hand me from across my desk.

When he pets animals.

When he holds a pen with it barely touching the paper.

When he slides his hands up my arms as he takes off my shirt.

And when he runs his hands through my hair when he thinks I’m asleep.

Thor's powers HC

(A.N: I'm in love with the idea of Thor losing control of his powers a little bit with his emotions, so I thought I'd put some of my thoughts down for y'all 🔨⚡)

Thor's always felt things...strongly. at least in comparison to Midgardians. He laughs loudly, he cries loudly, and generally is an open book. Of course, there are a few things he keeps under wraps- being trained for ruling a nation taught him that- but mostly with his friends he's open.

That being said, his powers do tend to fluctuate in regards to his emotions. This leading the team to coming up with increasingly insane solutions to deal with this.

It's always fairly obvious if Thor's watched a sad movie, because it'll immediately start raining outside.

There's a running joke around the team that meteorologists hate Thor because of how much he messes with weather patterns

He gets a mug out of this, though. Drinks from that "the weatherman is my nemesis" cup every damn day

Happiness and excitement is tied in with it as well- little sparks flying from his hands when he tells stories or talks about something he's passionate about

When he spent his first valentine's Day on earth with Bruce, Tony made sure to back up all his online files. Just in case

After a particular incident, Thor always tries to keep these light shows under wraps, and eventually takes to carrying a miniature lightning rod with him.

Camouflaging it into his outfits is a little bit difficult- he puts it in his hair, pockets, attaches it to his belt

"Hey Thor, cool necklace!"

"Thanks, it's a lightning rod attached to a piece of string."

On the day that Bruce proposed, Pepper found Tony sprinting around his lab at 3 in the morning, powering up every backup generator he had

"what the hell are you doing"

"BRUCE IS PROPOSING TODAY"

"and?"

"AND THORS DEFINITELY GOING TO CRY"

"well, it is a marriage proposal, that tends to happen"

"I HAVE LIKE 50 ONGOING EXPERIMENTS THAT I HAVENT SAVED"

"...DEAR GOD"

But, Thor does always like to help out his friends with his powers when he can, from conjuring rain ambience to help them sleep to high fiving Tony mid battle in order to power up his suit

He also likes to conjure rain when he makes a Dramatic Return™ but that's just for the atmosphere

"you can't just change the weather predictions because you want to recreate that scene from the notebook"

Bruce Banner was never one to trust very easily these days. Ever since the Hulk had materialized in his body and Ross tried to kill him, he stopped being so trusting. Bruce rarely trusted anyone anymore. He could literally count the people he trusted on his left hand, which says a fuck ton.

Bruce sighed and put down the paper he was supposed to be reading. His clusterfuck of a mind was too loud and honestly, coffee sounds great right now. ​God​, he thought exasperatedly, ​I sound like Tony​. Tony. Tony Stark, billionaire, former playboy (thank you, Steve, took you long enough), philanthropist, absolute genius and...one of the four people he trusted. Bruce smiled sleepily at the thought of the sharp-tongued Einstein. Bruce could spend hours, days even, down in the lab with Tony without a single worry in the world. He left out a soft chuckle as he grabbed one of the many mugs that were stored in the communal kitchen area of the Tower.

“What is so funny?” a voice behind him boomed. Bruce had to have jumped through the ceiling he was so startled. His mug fell to the ground with a loud ​crash! a​nd the man only sighed. A voice like that could only belong to one God of Thunder that frequently visited the Tower. Bruce turned around with a grimace. ​Why me? h​e thought.

It’s not that Bruce didn’t like Thor, he did like Thor, in fact, he considered him a close friend, but sometimes the God was better in small doses and quieter volumes.

“Nothing’s funny, I was just thinking about someone who makes me happy, that’s all,” Bruce responded after he gathered his bearings.

“Someone?” Thor asked, mischief clear in his voice. “A...special someone?”. Bruce snorted so hard he thought he nose would bleed. He could’ve sworn the mischief had been replaced with sadness and maybe even disappointment.

“No,Thor,not a​ special someone.​ Just Tony,”heanswered.The light that had momentarily died in Thor’s eyes returned almost immediately after he finished speaking. Bruce smiled at the enormous blonde before clearing his throat. “I’m gonna...go back down to the lab...you can come if you’d like to.” Bruce had never seen anyone, alien or human, smile so wide and so bright before. Thor nodded and Bruce walked quietly to the lab, completely aware of the Adonis following him.

When the boys walked through the glass doors of the high tech lab, Bruce set down his cup of coffee and sat at his chair. In the corner of his eye, he saw the Asgardian standing quite awkwardly, clearly out of place. Bruce took pity on the man, he’s probably only been down here once or twice before.

“Thor, you big oaf, come over here,” Bruce quipped, trying to cut the tension, “I don’t bite and neither does the machinery.” Thor gave Bruce a sheepish smile before sauntering over to where the smaller man was sitting.

“I apologize, I haven’t really been down here much. I’ve always wanted to but I never knew how to ask,” Thor admitted with a longing look at the all the tools, diagrams and blueprints that were scattered about the room.

“You’re always welcome down here. Say, I’ll add you to the security clearance when we’re done down here today,” Bruce offered with a soft smile. Thor nodded. His normally piercing blue eyes had turned soft as the current in the shallow waters of a hidden beach. Bruce was suddenly incredibly aware of how close he and Thor were. The wavy haired man was close enough to see the blonde Adonis’ eyelashes. They weren’t too long but they weren’t non-existent. Bruce suddenly wanted to feel them on his chest as they both woke up to the soft morning rays of the sun. Thor carefully traced his fingers up Bruce’s arm, causing millions of goosebumps to crawl up to his shoulder, his collarbone, his neck. Everywhere Thor’s deft fingers had touched was crackling with electricity. The genius’ cheeks were stained a deep shade of crimson that got even deeper when he noticed Thor’s eyes flickering from his eyes to his lips.

“​Do you trust me?​​” Thor questioned in a tone of voice that should be absolutely illegal coming from him. Bruce felt that Thor somehow knew the weight of that question was to him and for some odd reason, he didn’t mind.

“Yes,” he breathed and closed to the miniscule gap that remained between them.

I had to look at my phone before writing down the date. This entry could honestly cover the last 5 days, seeing as were all stuck in the post-Christmas limbo.

Christmas was good. Really fun actually. Tony had the idea of getting our kids together and have them all open Christmas presents with all of us. Tony and Pepper brought Morgan, Scott and Hope brought Cassie, and Clint brought Kate. It was...really nice. A little too loud for me, but if laughter is the loudest thing I’ll endure again, I’ll gladly accept it.

Thor and I have just been lying around the house doing nothing. Pretty sure we’ve watched 20-something movies at this point and could feed a city with the amount of takeout he’s ordered. When we aren’t vegging, Thor has been trying the new guitar and he’s got the nack for it. It brings a smile on my face to see him play.

Prompt #1 - selfie

“What is this?” Loki asked, picking up a photograph that had been lying on Thor’s bedside table. The God of Mischief took a look at the image and then laughed, shaking his head. “Thor…”

His brother turned to face him and a warm blush crossed his face. Honestly, the goofy expression was nice, in Loki’s opinion, because since they had arrived on Earth, Thor’s life had been nothing but strain and difficulty. 

Thor walked over and took the photo.

In it, Thor and Banner smiled awkwardly at the camera. Thor’s smile was huge, a beaming grin, while Banner looked a bit uncomfortable, yet incredibly and undeniably happy.

“They call it a selfie, brother,” Thor said with a chuckle. “It is a hobby that many Midgardians have, taking photographs of themselves with their loved ones.”

“And Banner is a loved one, yes?”

Their eyes met and Loki grinned. He knew what Thor felt for the mortal and Thor knew he knew. Yet, he’d spare his brother the teasing, this time. All the gods knew that his brother deserved a bit of happiness. 

“Yes.”
