The 2 of February was the first anniversary of Beyond Your Window's release for Global Game Jam !!!

This was my first visual-novel project, as an artist. I did it with rinkaku and the team solEtude .

My partner and I made a game for the Global Game Jam! The theme this year was “repair”. You play as a little demon who is tasked with fixing up a dungeon before adventurers come to smash everything again.

Controls: WASD to move, spam “E” to repair things, space bar to jump. Switches open grated doors and set traps. Try not to walk on traps you’ve set though. =P

One door has a naughty pit trap (whoops, not intentional). Would have loved to add more things, but I think we did okay for a 48 hour jam!

Fairy House, the game I directed, wrote and programmed in less than 48 hours this past weekend won 2nd place at the Microsoft Global Game Jam site (the largest jam site in the country and the second largest in the world)!

@vivariumgame​ did the awesome art and animation for the game and I couldn’t be happier with how the visuals turned out.

I wanted to make a game inspired by the feelings of adventure, heartbreak and frustration that you get when you’re a kid, so I drew from movies like My Neighbor Totoro, Inside Out and Toy Story to focus on recapturing those emotions.

It’s a really short game with a simple story but I’m really proud of how it came together in the end. I’m going to fix some bugs and add a little bit more content to the game and then I’ll upload it to Itch.io and post it here!

After that I’m going to work on my other game jam game, A Walk With Yiayia, for a few weeks to learn how I want to create the quest/mission structure in Freedom Lanes. I’m feeling very inspired lately!

Hey hey, so for those of you who don’t know, I’m a game developer! And this weekend was the 2020 Global Game Jam, a weekend of nonstop game dev! This year’s theme was “Repair”, so I made a text adventure where you focus on emotional repair: Dear Wormwood!

For those of you on Windows, you can download an .exe from this link! This is just a first draft, and the game will hopefully see considerable expansion with time. Within the next few days I hope to be able to get a Mac build running, and maybe even a web player!

*Transmission* During one cold February of 2019, our daring and darling Mars rover - Opportunity - lost power. Heartache spread among the masses; with no means to be able to fix them, the knowledge that the rover was stuck powerless all alone on Mars had sank all our hearts. Around 20 years has passed, and you have been struck with a deeply personal, sweet mission: to be amongst the first to reside on Mars, and repair poor Opportunity. This will be a difficult task with the frequent sandstorms limiting your time to work, but I have faith in you, little space cadet! G o out there and make us proud. *Transmission Over*
