⋆˚࿔ glow up challenge day 16/60 𝜗𝜚˚⋆
🥼 academics: attended class. i learned a lot doing this simulation with my class partner. he was really good at displaying aspects of therapeutic communication—i took mental notes for when i have to do patient interviews.
🥼 fitness: 10 min dumbbell workout, 10 min abs/thighs pilates, and took a walk 🌿
🥼 spiritual growth: journaled about life and priorities. i noticed that i naturally gravitate toward things that serve my peace—like finishing a task ahead of time or staying home to unwind. that’s my intuition. it’s not something i need to find outside of me. it’s always within and in the present.

Learning to love yourself 𝜗𝜚˚⋆
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Celebrate yourself. Every accomplishment deserves to be acknowledged, no matter how big or small. Stop putting yourself down by thinking that you don't deserve to celebrate your achievements just because others have accomplished "greater things." Also, there is so much fun in hyping small wins; call your girlfriend, bake a cake, and enjoy yourself!!
Invest time in things that you love. Doing what makes you happy is essential for your mental health. It's so important to pursue one's small and simple pleasures without the intention of turning them into profit!!
Boundaries and relationships. Learn to say no, define and set boundaries, question your current relationships and friendships, and distance yourself from people who make you feel unloved or worthless.
Allow yourself to grow. Let go of the notion that you are undeserving of growth. Acknowledge the past for what it is, learn from it, and grow from it.
Refelct. Getting to know yourself deeply is key to self-love; journaling is a great way to reflect. Ask yourself questions, question your habits, observe how you respond in certain situations, etc...
Trust yourself and your intuition. Listen to yourself, and don't dismiss the small cues that your inner voice gives you!!
Care for yourself. It is not selfish to look after yourself. Start exercising, eat balanced and healthy, stay hydrated, educate yourself, read complex literature, consume media mindfully, prioritise your sleep and routines, care for your skin and hair...
Be patient. Self-love takes time; you must slowly unpack and unlearn past habits, confront uncomfortable thoughts and memories, and gain a deep understanding of yourself. Give yourself time and approach this as a journey to enjoy. <3
You guys ALWAYS ask about self-love and confidence, sooo I hope this can be a little helpful to some of you and as always, please feel free to share your own suggestions and tips in the comments!! ♡
love ya ・:*₊‧౨ৎ

glow up challenge day 1/60 🌸🤍✨
• Studying Korean: I signed up for a Korean course on Coursera because someone said it’s better to have the curriculum of a course even when self studying. But this course is for total beginners so I might just speed run it.
• Spiritual growth: I had a therapy session and I shared about the topic of being a daughter but then somehow we got to my dream of doing music which is connected to the whole reason that I’m in therapy for and my therapist gave me some really good tips on how to start overcoming the fear of people hearing me sing.
• Art: I did some very simple vocal exercises. I gotta start small because I often get ahead of myself and that doesn’t help me grow.

To the girlies who are saying negative things about themselves or their situations:
Stop.
No, seriously. Stop.
I interviewed for a job I really wanted and I kept saying things like "oh what if I don't get the job?" or "I haven't heard back yet so obviously they've found better."
Turns out, I didn't get the job. In fact, I got the email at 4am on a Sunday. The office is CLOSED on Sunday and if it was a weekday, they're not in the office until 8:30am and the office isn't open until 9am.
So how in the world did I get an email at 4am on a Sunday???
I recently reapplied and went in with a mindset that I was gonna kill the interview. The process is technically 4 steps. I only had to go through 2. Typically you have a week between interviews, I had a day. Like I interviewed with one manager and he obviously thought I was a strong candidate so he told HR to send me an email to set up and interview with his manager for THE NEXT DAY.
Even as I waited for the email saying I got the job, I kept telling myself "It's taking a while because he already scheduled the interviews and it would be rude and unprofessional for him to cancel without giving them a chance."
Can you guess what happened next?
I got the job. And it's all because I refused to allow negativity to be put towards it.

Yesterday I came across this graphic on Pinterest while I was supposed to be paying attention in Zoom lecture. It inspired me to do a little glow up challenge over the next month. I want to stay positive through the winter and head into the springtime sunshine feeling Good(tm).
Here's how it's gonna work:
Every 3 days over the next month I will post my thoughts about one of the categories listed in this graphic, because I'm tweaking it to fit my personal goals.
I'll be using the tag #emglowsup for these posts.
All of the items that say "do for 21 days" will instead be 1 month.
At the end of the month I will update on my progress, how I'm feeling after completing the challenge, what I found most difficult and my plans moving forward.
If anyone feels similarly inspired, of course you are welcome to take any ideas from this post or join me with this challenge! Feel free to use the same tag so I can see what you're up to :)

Buckle up, bitches - it’s time for a new challenge!
I call it the alter ego challenge. Here’s how it works.
step 1: define your alter ego
What does this version of you look like? What does she eat? Does she drink alcohol? What does she do after work? What does she wear? When does she go to bed? Does she like the gym?
There are no wrong answers here. Remember that this isn’t just your “best self” - it’s a gorgeous, fabulous character. Maybe she hates the gym and prefers to take long strolls while sipping an iced coffee. Maybe she’s a poet who loves to sit up all night scribbling in a notebook. Maybe she lives in her sweats and a messy bun and has a toss-your-head-back laugh that rings out her open windows to the whole neighbourhood.
Don’t get caught up thinking she has to be perfect. She’s just someone you’re trying on.
step 2: test her out
Dress like her, walk like her, talk like her, work like her. Keep her in the back of your mind as you go through your day. Ask yourself “would she eat this? Would she wear this? Would she do this?”.
Feel free to refine as you go - no one needs to know about your journey! If you thought you’d love something but find it’s not working, ditch it and try something else instead.
step 3: document your journey
I’ll be posting about my journey here every day! I invite you to do the same. If you’re not someone who takes a lot of pictures, ask yourself - does you alter ego? ;)
In three weeks, let’s see how much we can grow!

I'm Daring Myself To Live (and maybe you too?)
I've struggled with chronic mental illness since I was 9 years old. I'm not enthusiastic about the way my brain works or this whole idea in general. But some part of me wants to answer two questions. Is getting better really possible (I think it is) and is it really worth doing (I think not).
But the only real way to find out is if I give it my best shot. I'm not talking about a life time commitment, let's not get ahead of ourselves. But I'm thinking 5 years should be fair.
I've decided to give medication, therapy, self care and higher powers all another try. I'll be opening myself up to new experiences (within reason) and documenting everything online.
I don't have much hope that this will work and I have absolutely no faith in anything. But I'm doing this anyway and I don't know why.

Gonna do @uhardite ‘s glow up challenge! I love the idea of it and I honestly think it will make me more motivated!
I am on a journey to become the best version of myself so my banks would be:
1) Fitness: My minimum is 5k steps a day while maintain calorie deficit. But my goal is to get done at least 1 session of pilates, 8-10k steps (while on treadmill), 20-30 minutes on the elliptical + spinning. Also, healthy eating - more veggies and fish and protein! Taking daily ginger and tumeric shots every morning and having my vitamin supplement at night. Also cutting back on alcohol and only limiting myself to having sparkling wine when the mood calls for it (and by that I mean once a week max).
2) Beauty: I am already getting laser hair removal sessions done, but I wanna focus on having smoother and softer skin, moisturizing and oiling daily instead of every other day, and actually doing my skincare routine daily instead of when mood strikes. Also including weekly hair treatments and mani-pedis every 3 weeks. Trying to also get proper sleep every night.
3) Self Confidence: no idea where to start with this one. I’m trying to be more gentle with how I view myself and now my present goal is to affirm positive self-concept affirmations every morning and night. Also working on wearing clothes I feel good in instead of just throwing something on and I guess I will start with limiting negative self-talk.
Problem area is I am already outgoing and appear very happy-go-lucky but internally I’m not as secure with myself as how I appear and most advice I see is going with the fake-it-till-you-make-it approach and I think now it’s just up to changing my mindset.
4) Writing/Creativity: I have always wanted to be a writer but I always abandon projects halfway and I haven’t written a proper fictional piece since 2018! That’s a long ass time and I’m honestly over this hiatus and I want to have a novella done by jan 24th (the day the challenge ends) therefore my goal would be focus on writing at least 500 words a day on the minimum end and over 2000 a day in the higher end.
I honestly don’t have any idea if I could accomplish any of these as I have full schedule 90% of the time because of uni and job, but I’m banking on my winter break to fully focus so let’s see!
Every post related to this challenge will be tagged as “70 days glow up challenge”.

How to touch some grass
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A guide for chronically online girlies who spend every second of their life scrolling through Tumblr. (no front, I love you <3)
Go on a walk. Fresh air, baby!
Lay in the sun. Or in the rain, since it's autumn.
Read a book. Only if you are able to with your goldfish TikTok attention span, lol. <3
Draw Something. I challenge you to draw a cat. send it to me on Twitter @ malusokay and I'll draw a better one. try me.
Try learning a new language. A date with the Duolingo bird.
Go to the theatre alone. Sit in one of those couple seats and stare at the cringy couples while eating popcorn; ignore the movie lmao.
Clean your room. Or reorganize it!
Climb a tree. At your own risk.
Make yourself some tea. Maybe host a tea party!
Try a new hairstyle. I've been trying those low space buns jk?
Bake a cake. Like a fancy and cool one!
Throw your phone into a lake and try to find it. :)
Workout or do yoga. Pilates can be fun too.
Try making friends in irl. This is a tough one, I'm sorry. <3
Paint your nails. Mine are black rn!
Start planning your birthday. Or write your Christmas wishlist.
Go get a coffee. Make your way to your local cafe and try something new! <3
Try learning how to crochet. I've been crocheting makeup bags, lmao.
Do your skincare routine. Do a face mask, and take time for yourself. <3
Make a smoothie. I'll give you a recipe... Banana, raspberries, strawberries, yoghurt for protein, your milk of choice and some coconut flakes as a topping!
Do your homework. So you can be lazy without feeling guilty.
Water your plants. They did nothing wrong... come on.. :(
Go to Ikea. Who doesn't love IKEA?? (not sponsored, lol)
Don't judge me, I wrote this at 3am, and I have the flu. It was fun tho haha.

glow up challenge days 2+3/60 because I forgot to post yesterday
Studying Korean: I spent some time writing down things that I remembered and practicing simple sentences + I did another lesson from my course.
Spiritual growth: I talked to my mentor and she suggested a bible study I should do so that’s my homework for next week + today I got invited to a very expensive concert so receiving that felt very much like another invitation for spiritual growth.
Art: Spent some time playing the piano, learning a song by ear + today’s concert was very inspiring because there was an artist who wants to combine electronic and classical music and that’s something I’d like to try as well.
