I let a dude use one of the bathrooms at work today as I was closing them, as is standard protocol for the closing of the grocery store bathrooms so people don't make a mess or complain.
For some reason, this was enough for him to tip me 200 dollars and then pray for me.
my friend at uni prays to the god of free shit. he’s not really a specific god that goes along with any religion—she just kinda came up with him. in fact, if you ask her if she’s religious, the answer will be a stark “no.”
but here’s the thing.
the things she asks the god of free shit for? they happen.
she says, “god of free shit, hear me out: …” followed by her request, and what good deed she will do in exchange, i.e. donating clothes to the local trans closet, etc.
and whatever thing she asks for? it happens. and it normally happens in a matter of hours.
is this high-level manifesting? idk. but it fucking works.
it’s like preemptive karma.
you get the good thing first as long as you really do mean that you’ll do the good deed. and then sometimes the god of free shit gives you good things after you’ve done a good deed, even if you didn’t ask.
idk. i’m just kind of obsessed with it. we’re talking about setting up a shrine.

A feel good story about how aggressively pro-Christmas my workplace is.
My mom's family has a history of cancer. She's walked away from it twice so far. She encountered it for a third time over the summer. She went under the knife to get it excised right before Thanksgiving.
There were no pies baked, no traditional Thanksgiving dinner. It was just me and dad, and we didn't feel like celebrating that.
She only got released into recovery at home at the start of December, and she's lost a lot of mobility, so there likely wasn't going to be any goodies baked or any traditional Christmas dinner either, at least with things the way they were.
This past Wednesday, I come in to work to see all the staff members are doing a cookie exchange. That's nice, but I didn't exactly bring cookies to exchange.
Then Karen, one of the receptionists, sends a teacher back to the room with a large ziploc bag and a message. 'Take as many as you want.'
The ability to bring a little Christmas cheer home, to make it feel a little more normal during this season, was well appreciated, and I told them all as much in a mass thank-you email sent through the work servers.
But it gets better! Apparently my boss, sent that thank-you email up to her boss. And the thought of one of their workers not having a good Christmas apparently offended them.
So, uh. They might be paying for the local grocery store to cater our Christmas dinner.
America is very aggressively Pro-Christmas. And I am all for it.
So by day, I’m a legal secretary. I work for the state so the pay is kinda shit. Well, I got headhunted by a national firm with an office about 15 miles away. I frantically threw together a resume and sent it in. Praying to whichever higher power exists so that I get this position. Good vibes wanted!!
