I made a tiktok about this too but figure I'd share here too.
A movie I would want to see and bonus points if it was horror.
Some of the main cast:
Taylor Russell, Taylour Paige, Jenna Ortega, Charlie Heaton, etc?
These would just be some of the main ensemble. I would wanna see a few wild cards, smaller actors, or even a larger horror name thrown in as well. They all have a history with emoting really well and are able to express their characters in ways that feel unforced. Even Charlie is quite bit underutilized in Stranger Things but he nails worried burn out brother. Also "The Performers" ad he is in for Gucci makes me think he would also be great in a Greg Arakki movie. Jenna and Taylor R. are already very familiar with the horror genre and have shown they can be dramatic actors as well. But Jenna knows how to show a little bit of the campy sides of horror too.
Writer (but not director):
J. D. Dillard, he wrote and directed Sweetheart (2019) and co wrote Sleight (2016). Both which have pretty interesting storylines and he is currently being tapped by DC for future hero projects. But for this movie I wouldn't want him to be main director, at least, or to direct. I want to see how someone else would interpret his script to the actors.
If not him for writer then...
Co-writers and Co-directors
Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala. This aunt and nephew duo have made Goodnight Mommy (2014) and The Lodge (2019). I think their direction is really strong and they capture that eerie nature that looms in most horror movies well. Their pacing is also so so damn good.
Cinematographer
Mike Gioulakis, his filmography includes It Follows (2014), US (2019), The Eyes of Tammy Faye (2021), and so much more. His color grading and framing is absolutely beautiful.
Production company
Neon or Monkey Paw Productions, either or could take the movie but they both would create very different movie. Both would be great though one just may lean more into traditional horror and the other more arthouse horror.
Music Supervision
Meghan Currier, she was the music supervisor for Bodies, Bodies, Bodies (2022).
I could keep going with this and go into art directors, makeup, etc. But, I won't. This would just look very cool to me.
