It's so funny bc I thought I was DONE with GoT/ASOIAF (at least until TWoW came out), and Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik had to center the Dance around a Yuri fallout basically, and my content-starved queer heart couldn't resist that shit.
You give me a princess who struggles with gender roles, more specifically, the ones that are set to her as a woman and the ones set to her by being heir to the throne. A woman who's walking the line between her duties. She is a woman with no true freedom, even though she's a Princess and next in line for the throne, always having to live up to the expectations set by the men around her.
Then, you have her former "best friend," who's been groomed by both her father and the King used as a pawn in political games, and ended up isolated as a result. She's also an extremely religious woman who's been repressing her true desires before she even realized what those desires really were. She's a woman with no true agency, even though she's Queen.
And to top it all off, they had a great relationship. They were there for each other. They confided in each other. And then, their relationship fell apart because of the ambition of the men who were supposed to have their best interests at heart but only had theirs guiding their actions.
They grow apart and are pitted against each other. Each of them defends their family fiercely, which, of course, causes conflict because, again, the men who should be taking care of them are selfish bastards. Then, for the briefest of moments, they manage to get close again. Not like before, because too much has gone down between them. But, of fucking course, Viserys has to die, but not before speaking about an ambiguous prophecy about who's to sit on the Iron Throne (too many Aegons, man), and of fucking course that opens the gates to a civil war, which, of course, takes 0.1 seconds to go from bad to worse and then all Hell breaks loose, making it impossible for these two women, who had once been the closest two people could be, ever to reconcile.
So yeah, Condal and Sapochnik have me hooked on toxic, doomed-by-the-narrative Yuri.
I'm just here for the ride.

Death of the male character to bolster the female one is a sign of weakness. huge red flag. don't trust you if you do it. if you kill Danny Ocean to put his sister in the spotlight that's a no-go. if you have to have to have the Hulk's cousin belittle him to make her look strong that's a hard pass. if you have to make Loki less competent to define "Lady Loki's" power that's a turnoff. make her stand on her own two feet without touching him or admit you've got nothing.

A precedent is used when THERE IS NO reference law regarding a specified topic. THEY DO NOT BECOME A LAW JUST BY EXISTING. The LAW is SUPREME , especially when we are talking about a MONARCHY and the WORD OF THE KING IS LAW.
RHAENYRA was VISERYS' DESIGNATED HEIR. I mean, him WORD that IS LAW pointed to her ELDEST DAUGHTER and said she is the ONE WHO TAKES the CROWN WHEN I EXPIRE. AND HE KEPT IT SO FOR YEARS, EVEN AFTER HAVING THREE (or two, depending on whether you read the books or not) SONS.
So yes, AEGON USURPED THE THRONE, whether you agree or not with the team green reasons for doing so, IT WAS A USURPATION BECAUSE LEGALLY HE HAD NO RIGHT IN THE LAW TO THAT THRONE!!
Sorry, but I didn't say it after seeing my thousands of Tumblrs about "the precedent" and that "Aegon had more rights than Rhaenyra", I was going to exploit. Because that is not true, the law said that the right belonged to Rhaenyra, so let's use other arguments, because this is nonsense.
Fight all you want, but with sense and logic please, that it seems that at this point in the wait for the second season these two starting to get scarce around here!!

So you’re telling me Abel has a Moonshine and Strip Poker Friday night, that Sam was nowhere to be found after that same night because he was “busy doing patrols for the Phantom of Abel” which was debunked btw, even if everyone in Abel KNOWS to search the comms shack first try if they needed Sam Yao the Radio Operator???
And that this is the same night Runner Five—who is literally born ready according to Sara—woke up from so underprepared that they wore their shirt inside out in a rush to go out on this mission??? This is literally the first time Runner Five showed some type of flaw and it’s their shirt being inside out which only means they took it off the night prior . And picked it up again bc it’s most likely the closest (probably on the floor) . Bc OTHERWISE any person would just search the drawers for something else
“Oh but neeks this can just be pure coincidence!!! Your shippy brain is reading too much into it!!” Okay maybe but listen . LISTEN . It COULD be just a coincidence and i COULD just be full on delusional but you know what validates this theory??? Yeah??? Here you go:
Sam noticeably gets more protective of Runner Five in the next few episodes—hell, in this same one, he kinda scolds Jamie and Isabel for going on a mission to “indulge their obsessive love for a Kid’s TV show and risking Runner Five’s life”; even if he eventually adds on Jamie’s life, the pause made me think it was some sort of a follow-up or afterthought
Then in the next mission, Sam goes out of his way to reassure Five before they do their part with the gate opening thing by being the distraction. Sam always does this and he notably looks out for Five all the time but the way this one was said is so??? Tender??? Like??? I don’t fucking know something about it is DIFFERENT it JUST IS
Anyway tl;dr: That man was doing perimeter patrols on something else and it’s not Abel Township I can tell you that much

Ok, this is gonna get a bit emotional but like…
We really are in ‘the good old days’ of a semi-new fandom right now. We’re in the time that basically all fandoms have of, wow everything is funny and chaotic and all we have are vibes and text posts and ninety-second long edits.
Sure, ASoIaF isn’t new by any means, neither is fire and blood or the rogue prince or the princess and the queen etc etc.
But the show is new, and at the end of the day I’m hyper-aware how all this ends and that it’s very unlikely to change.
So I almost feel like someone at a feast, knowing that famine is lurking right around the corner. This ends in blood and tears and dragon fire. We’re all getting attached so quickly and it’s going to break our fucking hearts.
And that’s ok, because we’re all just stories in the end right?
But it really does give the same energy as trying to cup water in your hands. There’s gonna be amazing highs and horrible lows and I’m fucking committed at this point. But the water is still gonna run down the drain eventually.
As the saying goes, “if you think this has a happy ending you haven’t been paying attention.” But god while we’re still on the incline I’m gonna be holding on to every single second.
