Game of Thrones
GRRM’s Best Kept Secret is NOT R+L = J
At least, that is not what it looks like to me.
It never fails to amuse me that every season a lot of youtube vloggers, the media and the got fans would always include in their prediction this sentence
“Sansa Stark will definitely die next season.”
And then come the next season and they’d be dead wrong.
Every single time.
Like how often do you make a wrong guess and realize that your prediction will never really happen??? Even now that we are approaching season 8 and people are still guessing that Sansa Stark will die. Some of them would even say “Oh yeah, it’s a foregone conclusion, she will definitely die.”
Their reasons? Let me list down some of them.
1. Sansa Stark betrayed Ned Stark so she needs to die.
Sansa’s so called “betrayal” of Ned was even part of the plot in Season 7, or to be exact part of LFs scheme to divide the Stark Siblings. But we all know how that ended with Bran saying it was LF who really betrayed Ned Stark and Arya saying “I never could have survived what you survived.” Which for me is Arya’s way of saying I never believed you betrayed our father. And then the scene ended with the two of them quoting their father Ned to each other
“In winter, WE must protect ourselves, look out for one another” and “When the snows fall and white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives”
which means, they are going to be A PACK now, united, to SURVIVE. So, no dying foreshadowing here because they have already experienced being lone wolves in the past seasons and they are not going back to that if they can help it.
2. She is the perfect embodiment of the “princess in the tower” trope. So yeah, she needs to die.
Hahaha, this one makes me laugh because what else is GRRM known for but to break stereotypes in storytelling, right? so if we thought that Sansa embodies the princess in the tower trope then wouldn’t it be perfect that GRRM is going to show us a different princess in the tower? one that will not wait for her rescue but will jump down from the tower herself? Oh wait, Sansa already did that in Season 6. She is the perfect embodiment of exemption to that trope. The perfect twist to the stereotype.
3. She is going to betray Jon Snow and usurp Jon’s crown. So, she definitely must die.
Again, another laugh out loud reason because one, she did not even have to usurp Jon’s crown, Jon willingly gave the North to her. I will let this gif below silence this stupid reason for good.

4. Her direwolf Lady, was the first one to die, so she will also have the same fate as her direwolf.
Well, this remains to be seen if Sansa will really suffer the same fate as Lady.
5. She is weak and helpless and does not know how to fight so yeah she will die.
Sansa is the reason not one but THREE of Game of Thrones’ worst and most evil villains finally die. First,Joffrey, indirectly because she told the Tyrells that Joffrey is evil which causes the Queen of Thorns to assasinate Joffrey. With Ramsay, Sansa won the BotB together with Jon and then Sansa herself passing out the sentence by feeding Ramsay to his dogs. Then last season Sansa sentence LF to die with Arya executing it, thereby ending the game Sansa and LF have been playing throughout the seasons. Sansa as Lady of Winterfell, finally confronted LF for all the evil deeds he has done to the Starks. So, Sansa might not be a physical fighter but weak and helpless SHE is definitely NOT. Even Tyrion knew how smart Sansa is and Jon definitely agreed with Tyrion.
6. She stole Arya’s storyline. She should die.
This reason is just too ridiculous and I do not want to pit Sansa and Arya against each other because I love them both and also I love Ned so I will follow what he said that “In winter, We (me, Sansa and Arya) must look out for each other”.
7. She is not a true Stark because she did not kill LF herself so she will have to die.
My rebuttal for this last reason can best be answered by Arya herself so just watch this video please
https://youtu.be/TgiDak0B3OY
But whenever I think of all these reasons that the fandom come up with on why Sansa will die, all I could think of was GRRM is indeed a Genius! And by extension D&D as well. Because the GA is truly convinced that Sansa is NOT a main player for the Game of Thrones and that her character arc is only to suffer every season and die in the end. Well, if you were not paying attention, Sansa Stark has already turned the tide. It started when she jumped down from the battlements and she only grew stronger, smarter and braver from there. Because, she took that first step of bravery with Theon (bless him!), she has become instrumental in fulfilling her Lady Mother’s prophecy
“The wolves will come back again to Winterfell.”
And they did.
Season 8 is indeed THE TIME FOR WOLVES.
So, better start betting on the right house, the winning house if you want to emerge in the final season, victorious.
Me??? I’ve already made my bet. And mine is with the Lady who spoke this most long awaited words.

I went yesterday into a lovely little coffeshop, that's was owned by a young couple. After I tried one of there special drinks and enjoyed it, I decided to let them surprise me with the next drink. After a little speaking barrier between us, I managed to order a surprise drink. When the owner brought me this beauty of a Smoothie, I was completely blown away. I didn't expect to get such a beautiful and tasty smoothie in a little coffeshop 😋 Maybe I will make this a little routine, to order surprise drinks at new places. It was a nice experience 😍😍 Ps. Should I link the little coffe?? #Chasing_North #coffeshop #surprisedrink #fate #delicious #fruitsmoothie #instafood #foodporn #gotsurprised #surpriseorder #enjoylittlethings #blog #traveler #traveling (hier: Koh Sumai Thailand) https://www.instagram.com/p/B1obX5ElsHT/?igshid=bxi0h25849c8
