Guess who watched Scott Pilgrim takes off 👀

I liked the live action movie's visuals a loooooot, but the story was eh (mostly 'cause they had to cramp a lot of the story within a 1 movie time frame). I heard the comic series is really good but I never felt an urge to read it 'cause of Scott's character from the movie (and I feel really bad for Knives) that I was like "Why would I wanna read a story about that kinda dude?". But the art style always seemed so interesting to me, so when they announce the anime (yeah it's anime) I was intrigued.

Needless to say, it is pretty good. It's WAY different from what I expected and I heard it differs from the comic as well. It has a lot of fun callbacks to the movie as well, so maybe I'll read the comics after all :)

BRO THIS IS SOMETHING I USED TO DO WHEN I WAS A KID 🤯

Years ago, little me would rarely talk, except when I'm with my mom, and it was not because I couldn't but because I choosed to live this way. As a result, I would draw in order to express myself instead of doing it orally (which is pretty much how I got into art)

I was so happy when I learned that Oopsy was like doing the same, it made me feel like I was not alone and from this moment he caught my heart even more 😭❤️

I relate to him so much, to him expressing his emotions through drawings like I said, to him saying something like "I don't wanna be just accepted I wanna be loved" because it WEIRDLY hits like home for some reasons, and to him living his best life and being happy despite having no belly badge and no powers

Sorry if I'm rambling or something, I just really need to talk about this to someone, no matter if I get ridiculed with "girl it's just a Care Bear it's a character for kids that's stupid"-bro so what? I know very well that I'm not the only one so go peacefully mind your own business

Do you remember this survey? I didn't expect such a great response. If that many of you really want to participate, I guess I'll have to do more than one batch of the draw to choose as much of your MC's as I can.

Time for some rules, so we won't get lost

The concept is simple. You give me your precious OCs/MCs, I adopt them for a while, write fanfic (related to WHB, of course) and hand them over to your loving hands.

For now, I plan to choose 3-5 people to write for. This may change if more people apply. If one applies, I will write for one. If 96 apply, I will choose more. We'll figure it out.

You can apply in two ways. One is to reblog this post and describe everything in reply, the second is to create your own post with the hashtag #whbmcshuffle Preferably both at once. I don't want to accidentally lose any application. I also recommend following this tag for the time being because I will post further information under it.

The people I will write for will be drawn randomly. I want it to be fair, and I guess this is the only way I won't be biased when I see mutuals I like or Andrea my favorite demons.

You can apply for one week. Since we may all be in different time zones, submissions will close when this survey ends.

Feed me information. Since I want to write something good, I would like to ask you for some information. Here's the list:

Name and pronouns: Quite obvious. Short bio: Who are they? Any difficult past or traumas? What were they doing on earth? Did they get to hell like in canon? How do they feel in hell? Where they live? Character: What are their main character traits? How do they usually behave? How do they behave in crisis situations? Voice: (Not mandatory, although, very helpful.) What would the narrative look like? More calm or energetic? Confident or not at all? Funny or serious? Calm or nervous? Laid back or distrustful? You can even paste here a song or a link to some story that you think reflect your oc's voice well. Important facts: Free space, you can put whatever you want here and whatever you think is important. I know it's a lot to ask. This is a minimal list, but the more information you give me, the better I will be able to empathize with your MCs and hopefully imitate their character. Of course, you can add photos, or a song, or memes, anything you want!

I didn't mention the length of the fic, but it depends on how I will feel writing it. But I'll want it to be at least 800 words.

I'm still working out the order of their ages.. So far I have decided that Ludwig is the oldest. And I'm leaning on Iggy being right below him, the second to oldest.

I'm solid on Bowser JR being the youngest, and Lemmy being right above him, the second to youngest. As for everyone else though..? I'm still trying to figure it out.

Thinking that Roy and Morton are on the older side, and Wendy and Larry are on the younger side. I just don't quite know what the order will be-

Hmm... I want Larry to be very different looking from Lemmy, maybe a bigger age gap would help. And I made Roy rather mature.. he could be older.. hmm...

Now Bowser is complicated. Originally I wanted Bowser to be this ruthless monster. Both as a King and as a Dad.. But I made that Bowser around when the Movie trailers were all the hype. And boy, I hated how Bowser was shaping up to be. So my rotten Bowser was mostly just to make him more intimidating then the movie Bowser.

Since then I've settled down and thought that a purely evil Bowser is not that interesting.. or lore accurate. So I began to lean on him being a rather good dad, if not emotionally awkward.

....buuut then I saw the movie, and now I'm back on the Bowser hate train <XDD I guess right now its up in the air. He's not meant to be intentionally abusive or awful to his kids though. I'm thinking that maybe the gentle fatherly side of Bowser was usually brought out by his wife.. Since she's gone now.. well.. I guess he's a little emotionally absent at the least-

As strictly a King, I'm thinking that he's pretty rough. At least he's more ruthless than he may have been before. I guess a way to describe him as King would be.. The health and safety of his people are not his #1 concern. The strength of his kingdom and his position of power however, is. Though this Bowser is subject to change.. :/

That sounds really fun actually! And normally I could see that happening.. though unfortunately, some of the structures I have set up in my AU make this scenario less likely..

For one, I intended for healing magic to be extremely complex and very difficult to master. And its intended to always leave a mark of some kind. A warning that Kamek gives to Lemmy and Iggy is something along the lines of "Whether you are healing, or destroying. Magic will always leave a scar." That's why Iggy's eyes look so strange and half of Lemmy's face and hair is discolored. The act of repairing their eyes left a mark on them..

What I mean by this, is that Kamek couldn't just turn around and heal them after every sparring session. Because it is very challenging to heal with magic and they would both be left with scars.. So they would both have to heal naturally over time after sparring. And considering that the Commander has a very important job, it would be wise to not tire him out or injure for the sake of some emotional relief.. :(

Although.. there could be a more mild version of this perhaps? Where the commander is involved in Bowser's training.? But not as his opponent. Perhaps he flies up high and chucks projectiles at Bowser for him to deflect. But not really getting involved on a way beyond that where he becomes overly exhausted or inured.

...Now for the Koopalings?? Dude, that's genius. Bowser is a hefty opponent and is sure to exhaust Commander and possibly even injure him.. But the Koopalings?? Commander would make a GREAT sparring partner for nearly all of them! :00

Specifically I can see him sparing with Morton, Roy, Ludwig and possibly Iggy. (The older Koopalings primarily) Whether its just muscle against muscle or being Iggy's target practice, I think he'd make a great sparring partner for the youngins :}}

SO Emergence is a comic series I've been making bc the ending of Saint made me cry like a bitch so I NEED my happy ending.

To establish when this starts just as Saint reaches karma 10 but has ascended neither Moon nor Pebbles and actually goes to Moon first. (Comic Page 1) She and Pebs p much rearrange the entire facility ground to make a city and such, I won't get into too much detail because this will be shown in the comic!

A broadcast is sent out inviting iterators to come over to the Emergence Facility grounds and find a new purpose/stability!

Though ofc a bunch of shit happens bc void fluid is rising and trying to stop it just causes a bunch of conflict :)

Like one of which between Pebs n Suns bc duh- and I even got to make an animatic of it ;)

Whoop! Whoop! Guess who made another fanart dedicated by a fic named The Eight Immortal Maiden by @starkidwriting ??? This gUy!!

I was in the mood for angsty so here it is!!

In addition, I also wanted to tell you guys that I might (keyword 'might') be posting more of my oc's in the future (in which I named them all Y/N because 1. I suck at naming my oc's 2. I also wanted everyone to join in on the fun if they want too!) inspired by alot of fanfics and oneshots from Tumblr, Wattpad and Ao3!!! I'll give credits to the writers and the person who made those ideas when I'm done!

Now, before I end this. I wanted to inform you people that I researched these color-coded maidens before drawing them in order to make Y/N's own color-coded hanfu without copying the other maidens own color-coded dress(though that doesn't mean you all can't get to pick your own color-coded hanfu cause you can, it's your own imagination). And so far I found that the only ones that are available are pink and royal blue (I think? Correct me if I'm wrong please cause I can make her dress black or grey but that would make her seem dull) so I went with royal blue because that's one of my favourite colors but I also wanted Y/N to wear pink too because the color matches with the color of the peach blossoms and lotus flowers buuut it was too late and I already started coloring the characters to make slight adjustments. But uh- the thing is when I used royal blue, white accompanied by slight gold on her hanfu, she looked slightly like The Lady Bone Demon in which I realised that just as I finished my drawing. Also I might make slight adjustments to her design while we're at it. So I what are ya'lls opinions??? Should change it??? Or nah??? Please comment down below!

[MAFIA/CRIME AU]

We can have a yandere Vail, as a little treat. :3

To give more context for this AU, Lei is an underground doctor and Vail is apart of Lexi's (this cool AF NPC) Red Dragons which is I guess an organized crime group. Lei cooks sleeping pills from him in this AU because he has trouble sleeping from trauma, probably. But they don't work well anymore so he asks for something better and she suggests an experimental drug she's been working on. They find it works pretty well... but they are unaware... that one of the reagents is contaminated with a drug that makes people yandere... yeah... a yandere drug. So yeah that's why he became a little (JUST A LITTLE!!!) yandere for Lei :3 That is in fact her arm that he is gripping. She's wearing black nitrile gloves.

The concept for this drawing (which you might see in the notes I'll post sometime soon) is that he is her bodyguard for the time being for plot reasons, and a patient she has is being sleazy. So she asks Vail to escort him out and Vail decides to kill the guy :D wow what a normal response, right? (/s) So this is after he gets rid of the body and returns to her with blood stains and she realizes those aren't his. He reveals that he has killed the one who has "touched her" and asks to be praised 😳😳😳 Which would be hot if y'know the situation wasn't so messed up. This is why Lei starts suspecting something is wrong....

I will be releasing the mafia AU notes soon. Maybe after the post epilogue story XD so certain NPCs (not my OCs again) will have more context for who they are rather than being just names. But yeah it's a very SPICY and DRAMATIC AU (I don't write the full thing though) with lots of foreshadowing and an ending... that is as tragic and sad as they come... It hurt me to write it but it was so angsty it had to be done. You shall see. You shall see~

As a final note yes that collar he's wearing is a gift from Lei 👀👀👀spicyyyy

anon how much time do u have

thought about being jokingly tinhatting with my response to this but i dont actually think they full fucked or whatever. so instead i'm just gonna dump several thousand words of an earnest attempt to outline why geoff and gerard deserve the same treatment received by other legendary canonical friendships like bert & gerard, mikey & pete, etc etc

also i caught the riot fest covid so idk how comprensible i will be. and idk how much sense some of this will make if you don't already have, like, rudimentary knowledge about geoff rickly's start in the hardcore scene in new brunswick, nj, so obligatory plug of the thursday primer that me and nic @raytorosaurus put out a while ago.

but tl;dr, geoff rickly and gerard way were drawn to each other literally from the beginning. since then, neither have left the other's orbit. they are legit cosmically connected narrative foils who could have been each other's closest confidant but never have been more than incredibly meaningful people to the other due to instance after instance of wrong place, wrong time.

i'll do my best to sum up some of the most poignant moments in their over twenty-year-long friendship, but nic and i are drafting several other posts that more diligently delineate the connections between thursday and mcr in their overlapping, mirrored careers and similarities/divergences in their goals/approaches as musicians.

so anyway despite what you might have assumed from the story that goes around where geoff heard gerard and mikey (badly) playing vampires at the eyeball house and wasn't impressed, i believe that at that point they'd already been friends for a while.

this is how gerard recalls the moment he met geoff:

Way: I remember it super vividly. Do you remember? I was walking out of the record shop that Alex [Saavedra, Eyeball Records] worked at on Kearny Avenue and you were standing against a wall wearing a black t-shirt. You were rail skinny and you looked like you were dying and you were so pale with this jet black hair. Rickly: My vegan lifestyle was not agreeing with me. Way: It looked like the sun was killing him. [long pause] And I thought he was super cool. (from their interview with vice in 2015)

long pause and i thought he was super cool.....like....

this is what geoff looked like back then btw. im guessing it was around 2000/early 2001 that they met since thats the outer limits of geoff's black hair goth days

gerard designed shirts for bands in the scene, including this one for thursday, probably done around 2001 when the dove became the main symbol associated with thursday. at this point mikey was a regular at the eyeball house but gerard was still hiding away in his house, but would always talk about his brother.

Geoff: "I knew Mikey from parties at the eyeball house. I liked Mikey a lot, and he was like, 'you're gonna love my brother Gee (he called him Gee all the time), Gerard, he's the best comic book artist, he's always at home, just working on comic books.' So I was like yeah, I wanna meet this kid, you know, I wanna make comic books with him, you know, that sounds awesome!" (source)

after that geoff kept asking mikey when his brother would come down to the eyeball house, because he'd loved comics since he was a kid, but he was too shy to verbalize that, and his love of comics wasn't something he'd ever actually shared with anyone other than his grandmother, who had just passed away, but he heard that this quiet guy who'd sometimes hang out with the scene's resident kid brother was this amazing comic book artist, and geoff decided that gerard was a person he wanted to know.

So like they were literally talking about writing a comic book together: geoff would write and gerard would draw. but they never were able to spend that much time together. thursday found massive and unanticipated success in late 2001 when understanding in a car crash started playing on mtv nonstop and gerard was still a hermit for the most part but had started to piece together the band that would become my chemical romance.

so then blah blah blah the story where gerard and mikey introduced the idea of their band to geoff we've all heard it. i linked it above but you can read the excerpt from dan ozzi's sellout here if you aren't familiar with the details already.

and that story ends with geoff listening to their demo and realizing that this little band actually had something. but i firmly believe that geoff loved the scene and was so compelled by gerard's art and wanted to collaborate creatively with him that he would have been willing to do it regardless of if he came around to their music or not.

geoff said this in a podcast in 2018:

"Gerard is sort of like... when he's not sort of hiding out in his house somewhere, he's actually so charming and personable. There's a reason why I was so drawn to him, and that he's, like, a superstar."

obviously we'll never know, because geoff was so compelled by the music that he played their demo to death in the tour van and then took the only two weeks that thursday had off in one of the busiest years of their career while in the midst of a super contentious legal affair with their record label to produce bullets.

okay now that i am looking at what i have written so far i look like an insane person and that is okay but i think that i will save the rest for another longer post about the fated careers of mcr and thursday. but i feel that i have done my job by just giving you this taste. more to come but their friendship literally so expansive and detailed (in ways that I don't usually see articulated here) that a single tumblr post is never going to do it justice. as i said, stay tuned, we're working on something more.

tl;dr (another one) gerard and geoff are perennially obsessed with each other & have been since literally the first time that they laid eyes on each other and it comes out the second that either of them have to be even a little reflective on the other's career thanks for reading my manifesto bye.

Hi!! Since you’re also into the pjo fandom, let me introduce you to this concept: Wednesday as the daughter of Hades and Xavier would totally be an *edgy* Apollo kid!!

I thought about this before and I just love this idea 😍 Some headcanons for my PJO/Wednesday mutuals:

‌First and foremost: Wednesday is older than Nico and is protective with him like she is with Pugsley and Eugene. They're so similar it's scary. In camp, they're considered to be the two creepy children of Hades who dress in black and eat souls for breakfast. They love this reputation.

‌She is one of the only kids whose name Mr D actually remembers.

‌Someone said somewhere about a possible Wednesday/HP crossover that Wednesday and Hermione wouldn't stand each other which I completely agree with and I feel the same about Annabeth. They're too different, they would contradict themselves and talk over the other all the time.

‌As much as I love Clarisse, I don't think her and Wednesday would get along very well at first either because it's canon that Wednesday doesn't like bullies. More than once, she got back at Ares kids for putting the newbies' heads in the toilet.

‌Later on, when Clarisse matures a little bit and stops the bullying, they learn to respect the other and find themselves several common interests. Like I can't stop thinking of them bonding about their knives collections.

She tolerates Leo and he's her go-to person when she wants a new dangerous weapon for unknown purposes.

‌Bianca would totally be a daughter of Nike (Cabin 17) and her and Wednesday are constantly in competition. Capturing the flag is always intense when they're on opposite sides.

‌...she also didn't like that Bianca happened to date this cute tortured Apollo kid Wednesday stares a bit too much at 👀

‌I think her and Xavier would be sort of friends at first, like they arrived in camp at the same time when they were ten and grew up together. Then one day, they came across a monster on a minor quest, Wednesday saved him (like in the show) and since then, he's always been secretly in awe of her.

‌The day Bianca and Xavier broke up after eight months, everyone in Camp Half-Blood was gossiping like crazy. Nico basically barged in Cabin 13 while she was reading in peace and went like:

Nico: Guess who's single? Now you can ask him out.

Wednesday: I will not do such a thing.

Nico: Yes, you will. Unless you want Drew and the other Aphrodite kids to get to him first.

Wednesday:

Nico:

Wednesday *snaps her book shut*: Fine. I'll do something about this Apollo kid. On the condition that you do something about your Apollo kid.

Nico: What?

Wednesday: You've been drooling over Will Solace for years. Grow yourself a pair.

‌With lots of help from her best friend Enid from the Iris Cabin (of course Enid would be the daughter of the goddess of rainbow) and the fact that Nico had landed a date with Will before her (there was no way she was letting her little brother win), she finally confessed her feelings to Xavier.

‌Of course, turns out this idiot was in love with her for years but thought she wasn't interested and got dumped by Bianca because she found way too many drawings he had made of Wednesday.

‌In a nutshell, I like my favorite Apollo-Hades pairs and they deserve to be happy 😘

As a backup for the armor gallery I've snagged horizon-armor (and robo-dino-puppy, for that matter) on Neocities, but there's nothing there at the moment because I'm currently waaaaay too braindead to create a site from scratch. Voiceplay Visuals: Golden Hour

From one post about a kinda-strange Voiceplay video to another!

It took me a while to decide to watch this video as well (because basically I saw the thumbnail and was like "Hm."), but I'm very glad that I did, because, well, if you've seen the video, you know what I'm talking about. 😁

This video was uploaded on the 18th of March, 2023 (almost exactly 11 months ago as I type this, though for you it will be just slightly over a year ago), and stars the young and talented Anthony Gargiula (pronounced gar-jool-a) in his first guest collaboration with Voiceplay, and, in an acting role, the video also features Kathy Castellucci as "the toymaker"! So let's get into this!

For any of you who haven't already realized: "Stimmen Spiel" is the literal German translation of "VoicePlay"! (Also I wonder if 1999 was when 4:2:Five (aka VoicePlay) officially began and/or got its original name?)

You'd think this would be obvious enough for all reactors to notice/comment on it, but no

VoicePlay certainly never fail on the creative front, I'll give them that!

It was Geoff's head that struck me as the most odd-looking here, and it took me a while to figure out why that was (kinda embarassing, really ^^;). It wasn't until I was watching a reaction video where the reactor was speculating on if it was very difficult to edit around Cesar's beard that it hit me: it's the hair. It's notably flatter than it usually is (i.e. less volume), and possibly shorter (or at least shorter-looking) as well.

It then wasn't until a while later (I'm really not always the sharpest tool in the shed 😅) that I realized that this explains why in Geoff's Headless Horseman video, the disembodied back-up Geoffs have their hair pulled back - to make the editing easier!

Geoff asks in the comments "who thinks they know what's in the mug that Kathy's drinking?" For the record, I have no clue, but I'm gonna guess coffee 😄

(If you think you're gonna be getting a lot of screencaps of the "singing heads", think again!)

Really good drawing actually (kinda looks like Cesar - deliberate perhaps?), I wonder who actually did it?

Not entirely sure what the sideways writing on the left page says, but I think the third word is "comparable"? And the writing underneath it I believe says "legs same". The sideways writing along the edge of the right page says "eyes have to be evenly spaced apart".

(Also the writing across the top of the right page says "all features must be constant by numbers")

The width measurement between the two eyes on the right page is 9 inches, and I wonder if that was just a random number/average distance between the centres of a person's eyes, or if actual measurements were taken from you-know-who for this? (Same goes for the other measurements written in the book!)

Did the person who did the drawings in this book do all the writing as well? Because it's aesthetically nice, but not the easiest to read!

The writing on the left page says "all markings must be [????]" (I can't make out that last word).

Also might as well take this opportunity to point out the Pinocchio doll sitting in the windowsill in the background! (Above Geoff's head.) Pinocchio is of course the story of a puppet who becomes a "real boy", so a very fitting inclusion/easter egg for the video (and Pinocchio is originally an Italian story - coincedence? 👀)

Partially sharing this as a "this was an interesting little visual effects/editing moment in the video that I felt like I had to acknowledge" thing, and partially sharing this as a "if I had to see this, so do you!" thing 😆

The mannequin body now has a white shirt with slightly-puffy long sleeves and a loose collar. Hm, who of the group has occasionally worn shirts like that I wonder?? 🤔 (😜😁)

I'm wondering a lot of things about this video I know, but did Kathy actually do any proper tailoring/stitching on that outfit?

God help me they're TOO CUTE

Honestly what a freaking payoff for a video that my brain was otherwise reluctant to fully process. Sure, there are reasons for at least listening to this song on Spotify, such as swoon-worthy original bridge section written by the one and only Geoff Castellucci, and the gorgeously stunning 5-part harmony on "shine" right after that bridge, but THIS ^ right here is the reason for watching the video. Shoutout to Layne, who edited this video and did the arrangement (other than the bridge, which was all Geoff's), and shoutout to both Layne and Tony, who are both credited with video concept, set design, and direction!

(And I feel like I must add that Kathy herself commented on this video, telling fans that "This only shows me creating prototype #1. You can safely assume my next projects were numbers 2, 3, 4 and 5. And they all turned out perfect 💙")
