Lower Elementary - Grammar
This student is working with the Grammar materials to identify and understand the parts of speech for the sentences he has written. The parts of speech are represented by shapes and colors, each having a special meaning. For example, the symbol for a noun is a large black triangle, while the symbols for an article and an adjective are smaller triangles of differing colors to show they are modifying the noun. The symbol for a verb is a large red circle (implying a ball, or movement, since verbs describe action), and the symbol for an adverb is a smaller orange circle, showing that it is related to the verb. These hands-on materials provide an interesting way for students to understand these abstract concepts.

Crochet Rainbow High Doll Pants: Trial 1
Tumblr media
With crochet, there's two types or ways most things can be split into. You can make something flat, like a scarf or blanket. Or you can increase going up, making something like a bear head, a bag, or a bowl.
Notes: This isn't the first pair of pants I've made for my dolls. I've hand sewn a pair before, and I made one that was too holey for my liking for my jnr high doll, around the start to first quarter of this year. But I haven't yet really been experimenting with it. This is my first try.
How I did it?
Okay, so, typically with clothes making, you will have a pattern, you'll cut and hem the pieces and sew it together. But that's more with fabric.
Though you could make crochet clothes creating flat pattern pieces and putting them together, I did the up method, creating two tubes as pant legs, then connecting them and continuing up. It gives you a lot of control in where you want things to be more shapely. Because crochet is made up of little chains, you can increase and decrease the amount of stitches anywhere on the chain (or row) you would like to. For instance, the pants somewhat stayed up from the beginning because they're tight around the thighs at the bottom. There is also a large decrease on the final row at the hip-band, right over the centre of the butt. This also helps the clothing stay up. Which is really exciting for me to discover. (I sort of realised this more along the way.
When I crocheted the legs, I left the six chains in the centre out the band width. I realised just before I was about to do it that including them all would have made the pants unwearable. Like if you took out the seat from your underwear, you'd have to cut your groin flat to make them sit. (As a person with did and alters, I'm thankful one of the voices said something before we made that fatal error).
But, that meant at the end we have to fill in the crotch at the end. It wasn't something I was looking forward to. But it was actually really easy and satisfying. Like filling in a hole, or making a crochet plate from the outside in. It turned out really well.
I'm sorry for the provocative pose, but I'm happy how it turned out. It was one of my major goals in this discovery attempt. If she couldn't do the splits in these pants I would have been devastated 😅😭
Tumblr media
But she can! Yaaaaaaaaaas 💅🤩😆
Things I'm going to fix next time: 😅
I want a flat crotch bottom next time. So, I'll be slip stitching them together instead of decreasing them together.
I really didn't mean to make the pants so weirdly bell shaped. I would also like to try and figure out how to create less bulky fabric around the crotch. I have ideas but I still need to get my head around them, and to put them into practice 😅.
I didn't finish where I started. I thought it looked fine from the top but now the knees aren't even at the bottom and I don't like it 😤
Something else that I'm forgetting that is important, but anyway.

How can i speak english fast?
Practice regularly: The more you practice speaking, the more comfortable and confident you will become. Find opportunities to speak English with others, such as joining a conversation group or practicing with a language exchange partner.
Listen and imitate: Listen to native English speakers and try to imitate their pronunciation, intonation, and rhythm. This will help you develop a more natural sounding speech pattern.
Use filler words: Filler words such as "um," "uh," and "like" can give you a little extra time to think and help you avoid long pauses or awkward silences.
Speak in short sentences: Start by speaking in short, simple sentences and gradually build up to longer, more complex sentences as you gain confidence.
Use contractions: Using contractions can help you speak faster and more naturally. For example, say "I'm" instead of "I am" and "don't" instead of "do not."
Remember, speaking fast should not be your main goal. It's more important to focus on clear communication and being understood. With practice and persistence, you will become more fluent and confident in your English speaking abilities. world of the best learning institute. please visit: https://10minuteschool.com/

It's taken me quite awhile to realize how much of a hands on learner I am. It's tricky to explain but I guess in a sense, if I were in another world, I'd be a craftsman. Not only do I find satisfaction in being able to work with my hands but it's easier to grasp basic math through things like cooking. I grew up during the No Child Left Behind era and I am autistic. Essentially, classes with hands on learning like Home Economics, Woodshop, etc. were not part of the curriculum which did a number on me I realize now, especially in subjects like math.
I still deal with feelings of not being intelligent because I struggled in math (among other struggles). The problem isn't my intelligence, the problem is that I needed to learn through using it in day to day affairs and unfortunately, those word problems they gave us were not going to cut it because they made no logical sense. It doesn't help that people really didn't understand how to handle people on the spectrum even then.
Basically, if you're struggling with math, I just want to say, you're not dumb. You are smart in different areas.

In a surprising twist that I think no one saw comming from early access, Astarion and Halsin are like totally opposite ends of whatever gay motherfucker spectrum theyre on
Astarion presents himself as alluring, flirty, desirable, sexually available, ect ect, but it's entitely preformative. If given a choice he'd happily go without it all for as long as he can.
Meanwhile Halsin is the most regular, sober, sensible dude ever who probably smells like damp leaves and dirt, and then he just show up one night like "i wanna fuck nasty like the oak father intended"

Early Childhood - Nomenclature Cards: Human Anatomy
Montessori Nomenclature cards are used for classifying and building vocabulary and concepts in all subject areas. Also known as 3-part cards, this material is made up of a control card, which has the picture and word on the same card, and individual pictures and labels. Students then match the individual pictures and labels to the correct control card, providing for in-depth visual discrimination practice and independence, as students do not need to ask the teacher for help to check their work. For this 4-year-old student, the teachers have extended the work to include realistic objects and word tracing, adding layers of complexity to the work.

“They finally made this theme more blatant-" Why does it need to be blatant. What's wrong with subtlety? Concepts can be underused but subtlety is not neglect.
Blaring all your concepts and themes is not good writing. It's so disruptive to a story's flow when the characters look off the screen to be like "See? This is the concept. The idea. The theme."
If you can feel the hand of the author becoming too heavy that's bad.
For example: I see people saying Azula's abuse in ATLA is more blatant in the live action and it's good because "it's being discussed more". It already was discussed at length. The show made it clear she was a victim at every turn, every behavior, every reaction, it came from a place of trauma. It was made clear that she was scared of ending up like Zuko because Zuko was an example of what would happen to her if she failed. When she says she's better than Zuko it wasn't just because she was raised to think hersef superior to him but because Zuko failed and failures get mutilated and exiled, failures are abandoned. In that final Agni Kai the music is morose and somber because this isnt some epic battle its a fucking tragedy, the burning out of "Ozai's brightest light" and Azula finally succumbing to her terror and trauma she was repressing now that her worst fears are realized. How can you see a fourteen year old girl chained to a sewer grate wailing and writhing and breathing fire desperately as unsympathetic? Even Katara and Zuko are horrified as to what has become of her.
The writers weren't looking us in the eye and saying "See? She's a victim too" when they wrote this, they weaved it in. They weaved it into her obsesison with symmetry, her extreme perfectionism, the way she talks about Ozai, the ways she calls herself a monster, her isolation from those with healthy home lives, all the ways she held herself together and ultimately all the cracks and seams that she shattered down when she fell apart. It did not need to be blatant to be clear.
