Harley: Why?
Peter: They look so happy...but then I bite their heads off.

Listen, I'm all for Abbie being happy that Harley got out of the small town that had no benefit towards him, but I'm a sucker for jealous Abbie. Jealous that Harley gets to go live his dream while she's left behind. Yes, Harley (and Tony) sends them money, so Abbie doesn't have to get a job at 14, but it feels like a rub in her face because now her brother can afford to do what ever ge wants and she can't even get extra money to get new strings for her guitar.
She's an angsty 14 year old musician who writes songs about it!
(She will never tell Harley they are about him.)

All my headcanons about Harley Keener:
He's autistic, with a special interest in both mechanics and superheroes (specifically Iron-Man.)
He swears like a goddamn sailor.
He is incredibly easy to read if you know ASL because his stim for nervous is the same as the ASL sign for nervous, and his stim for happy is the same as the ASL sign for happy.
He has a few pairs of noise cancelling headphones. His sister painted most of them red and gold.
When he joins the Young Avengers, a rule is quickly implanted that he can't be alone in a lab with Riri and Cassie, because the three of them will build a bunch of destructive stuff without even thinking about it. (They always ask if they can, not if they should.)
He absolutely considers Peter a brother.
His password on every account/device he has is Potato.
He's gay.
He has definitely gotten into a twitter feud with Justin Hammer at some point.
Marvel's probably forgotten about him by this point, haven't they?

Peters new lab partner is bad news.
he is nice in class and a fantastic student. he’s the only one who can really keep up with Peter in robotics class. Peter had considered him a friend…
until Peter responded to a bank robbery and found his lab partner and an older man making their getaway. Even Peter could see the family resemblance. Peter didn’t catch them, so he acted as if nothing had happened the next day in class, and asked about the guys family.
Apparently, he has a mom and a little sister, but lives full time with his dad in new york. That’s got to be the older man. The kids obviously been roped into crime by his family, and Peter dosnt want to ruin the kids life by catching him and turning him in.
Peters not sure how to handle it. But he does know one thing. Harley Keener is a lot more complicated than Peter first thought.

fandom. formula one & mcu
about. y/n meets the stark clan
content warnings. written in 3rd person + headcanonish, not edited & proofread!
word count. 0.8k
notes. first 'lore' chapter!! i'm excited and hope you all like it <3 i would love some feedback hehe and any reblogs are ofc greatly appreciated!
before...
TONY STARK
y/n l/n grows up surrounded by motorsports, especially motogp. with her mother being a worldchampion, it's only natural that fast cars and bikes are her every day entertainement.
she's raised as an only child and by a single mother, she doesn't even know who her father is. and if she's honest, she doesn't care about it at all. why would she need a father, when she has already such a cool mother?
while her mother loves her independet daugher, she still thinks she should know about her father and tells her the truth. tony stark, also known as iron man, is her father. they had a short relationship, akin to an affair but it ended with both of them being extremely busy with their lives.
but just because y/n is aware who her father is, doesn't mean he's aware that he has a daughter. and he hasn't been for a long time, not until y/n's career in single seaters properly started. he regrets meeting her so late (in her teenage years) but never holds it against her or her mother.
how do the two meet? well, it's quite tragic... with her mother losing her year long fight against cancer, y/n is left alone, since her mother didn't have any close family. not wanting to end up in forster care and stop her career, she seeks out tony and shows up on his doorstep one random wednesday afternoon.
he's shocked, but pretty much believes her, when she tells him who she is. tony is of course no fool and still does a dna test, but even if it came out wrong, he would've taken care of y/n- he immediately felt a connection.
within the same week, tony gains custody of y/n and she moves to new york, but still goes to a boarding school until she's a candidate for formula 4.
PEPPER POTTS-STARK
y/n meets pepper in the same week she meets tony. not as her step-mother, but as CEO of stark industries and close friend of her father.
they immediately take a liking to each other (they both like to bully tony) and pepper can't help but feel for the lonely teen. y/n doesn't have many friends, especially close ones and with her genius mind, she always felt like an outsider. she only truly fits in with other racers, but then it's more about her talent and they're also all boys and older than her. not somehting everyone likes...
when tony finally ask pepper to marry him, y/n is their biggest supporters. pepper is incredibly touched and makes her maid of honor. she goes even so far, to ask y/n, if she would be alright with pepper adopting her. that evening, many tears were shed.
y/n loves pepper just as much she loved her own mother and sees her as another mother figure in her life. she still doesn't call her like that, but sometime she slips up and calls her 'mama', which leaves pepper flustered and deeply touched.
HARLEY KEENER
it takes a bit for tony to introduce y/n to harley, who she meets first as brother. with harley studing in MIT, he only knew that tony had something very important to talk about and wanted him to come home as soon as he could.
but it still took two months, until harley and y/n met, but luckily they hit off. harley knows what it's like to have a smaller sister, so he stepped up as big brother again, while y/n was a bit unused to no longer being an only child. but with harley being a full-time student, it felt as if she was one.
despite harley acting like an older brother to y/n, it still took a long time for them to actually grow closer. harley lost his family few years ago, but the thought of actually having a younger sister again... well, let's say he had a few things to say to his therapist.
but a few years have passed now and they're close, despite rarely seeing each other, with harley working at SI and y/n having to travel the world for her racing.
PETER PARKER
y/n meets peter as tony's intern very early, so she experiences the process of him getting adopted first hand. with both of them beings so close in age, they're close by default.
but it also helps that they have a similar humor (proud genz) and interests. peter starts focusing on engineering, just because y/n is heavily involved with it and y/n does physics and biochem work with peter, to help him as spider-man.
when peter gets adopted and becomes a proper stark, y/n set the goal to become his favorite sibling (he always talks himself out of the pick with "my favorite sister is you", fully knowing he only has one).

Tony keeps in touch with Harley post IM3.
Tony hacks into Harley's school to see what his grades are and it not clocking that he could literally just ask about it.
Tony keeping up with the Keener’s via twice monthly phone calls that turn into weekly ones that turn into Tony and Mrs. Keener texting back and forth.
Tony invites the kid to visit during a school break where they both just tinker with things. Harley is nervous at first until they meet up again and they start snarking back and forth.
At least one minor fire or explosion happens. If asked, neither know what started it. (Tony was wiring a gauntlet and Harley jokingly called him Dad when Tony told him he had to do his homework.)
The Keener’s visit for a week in the summertime, Tony has bought the lake house earlier to have a place away from people. Mrs. Keener and Pepper get along pretty well and both the kids like Pepper, so Tony counts it as a win.
Tony offers to pay for Harley and his sister's education and Mrs. Keener took him up on it because there was no way she’d be able to afford to send both her kids to college unless one of them got a free ride and Tony shows he cares by spending money and making sure those he cares about are safe and comfortable.
Harley spends the summer before his freshman year of high school with Tony. Tony finds a used classic car and they spend the summer rebuilding it and upgrading the engine to run clean.
Tony finds Spider-Man and finds out he’s a year older than Harley. Tony panics because here’s another kid genius but this one's in way over his head and will stay in over his head regardless of if he has support or proper equipment. Tony decides that no one else is gonna help this kid and give him as much protection as he could if he built him a suit, so he does just that.
Tony finds out about Midtown through Peter and approaches Mrs. Keener with an opportunity for Harley. (It's a genius school and it's practically a feeder to MIT, it'll be great.) Harley moves into the tower that Tony has kept here because he has reason to stay in the city.
Tony is a lot better at dealing with a kid because he's been hanging out with Harley so long, so he invites Peter over to meet Harley and have lab time.
Harley just quips “so you’re my replacement?” to Peter and Peter immediately panicking and stuttering over himself while Harley howls with laughter.
Harley helps Peter learn to be more comfortable around Tony by roasting Tony for twenty straight minutes and after a month of lab days enlists Peter's help in making a program for FRIDAY to blast Barbie Girl when Tony has spent 24 hours or more in the lab.
Peter asks Harley to hang out with Ned outside of lab days. The three of them end up building a LEGO Deathstar and have drawn up the plans to be able to make it hover the next lab day.
Peter and Harley become thick as thieves and get to the point of that weird twin telepathy especially when it comes to being sassy.
One school break the three of them didn't go outside for the first four days, just spending most of the time in the lab so Pepper comes in and orders them to go outside for once my god Tony. Take them to your favorite burger place, I don't care, just be outside.
This leads to the three of them getting Pap'd. ("Yeah, I was out to lunch with my two interns, what's the matter with that?" is the quote above a picture of him laughing as the two boys pretend their straw wrappers are mustaches.)
This leads Tony to realize that he hadn't actually gotten the boys registered as his interns and remedies this immediately. (with backpay into a trust for each of them(Harley already gets an allowance, Tony has no idea how much is the proper amount to give to a 14 year old, and so usually gives him a few of whatever bills are in his wallet.))
Tony decides that now that they're officially employees of SI, that means they get to check out the place and so brings them down to R&D where everybody is immediately charmed by Peter and amused by Harley. The boys end up talking to the interns on the floor while Tony discusses the latest StarkPad.
One lab day both Harley and Peter look exhausted but Peter still showed up for lab time so they make their way there. Tony takes one look at them and asks FRIDAY to scan them, they both have fevers and he herds them into his living room.
Tony orders all the cold remedies he can think of to be brought up to the penthouse. Tony instructs the boys to pick a movie while he gathers blankets and dumps them on the boys.
Tony frantically texting Harley's mom and May asking them what he should do I've never taken care of a sick kid before, there are two of them, what do I do??
May asks Tony if Peter can stay the night because she's working a double that she can't get out of. He says yes if she can tell him what to do for sick kids because Harley's mom hasn't been able to respond.
Tony ends up joining the boys on the couch after forcing each of them to take cold medicine and thrusting a bowl of chicken noodle soup into each of their hands. Tony's in between the boys.
Over the course of WALL-E each boy begins to sag eventually trapping Tony on the couch. He's got one drooling in his shoulder and another drooling on his thigh. He asks FRIDAY to take several pictures before going back to his work on his StarkPad.
This starts Peter staying over whenever May is working night shifts. Then staying over every other weekend. Then Tony invites May and Peter to go on vacation to the lake house for a few days in the summer.
The Keener family is also present and May, Pepper and Mrs. Keener get on like a house on fire. Peter loves playing with Abbie with Harley. Three group chats are made that day. The adults in a co-parenting chat, the ladies in an exasperated with our geniuses chat and the kids in a sass and meme chat.
Just, Tony becomes a dad to two brilliant boys (and maybe one of the boy's baby sisters too depending how you want to write her).

Matters of the Heart
Peter Parker x Fem!Stark!Reader x Harley Keener
Warning(s): Death
Notes: This is pretty short and end kind of abruptly, but it’s been in my drafts for so long and I like it too much to delete it. So, enjoy :)
Summary: It had been 5 years for you and 5 seconds for Peter. So to say it’s a bit of a shock for him to find you in the arms of someone else is an understatement.
Tumblr media
When the battle was over and Tony was gone, all Peter could think about was you.
How would you react to finding out your dad was dead? That he’d saved the universe and it cost him his life? It had taken you so long to get reacquainted with him and now he was gone.
And what about seeing him again? According to Doctor Strange, it had been five years. It baffled his mind to think that he’d missed out on five years with his loved ones.
What had changed?
"Where do we go now?” Rhodey asked, standing up and stepping away from where Peter and Pepper were still crouched, trying not to cry.
“Home, I suppose,” Steve replied, fighting his own tears. “I think everyone deserves that.”
So, Doctor Strange conjured up portals like he had before. But instead of leading people into battle, the portals lead home. To Wakanda, to New Asgard, to Clint’s farm, and, for many of the main Avengers, to Tony and Pepper’s home.
When they walked through it, Peter almost couldn’t believe that the rich and fancy Tony Stark had lived in this little house by a lake.
He noticed you sitting on the porch swing. Your hair had changed, along with a few more subtle things that come with time, but he could still tell that it was you.
What he didn’t know was who was sitting next to you, and why you were cuddled into his side.
You lifted your head when you saw them walk through the portal, getting the guy next to you’s attention, immediately knowing something was wrong.
“Mommy!” A little girl came running out of the house, little feet pattering down the wooden steps.
“Morgan, honey, stay up there by your sister.” Pepper shouted in reply, causing the little girl to pause her movements.
Morgan. Peter thought. Tony had another daughter while he was gone?
“Morgan, come here,” You said, reaching your hand out for her.
Peter felt himself tear up a little again, hearing your voice. He started to realize how long it had been since he’d talked to you and how angry you would be that he went and got himself into trouble again.
The thought almost made him laugh.
You lifted Morgan up, setting her on your lap and pulling her to your chest, whispering something to her so she kept her face hidden.
Bruce walked through the portal next, when Rhodey gave him the okay, carrying Tony’s body.
Peter could see the way you gasped, holding a hand to your mouth. The guy next to you wrapped his arm around you and you buried your head into his neck, crying.
The sight made Peter want to start crying again, too.
“Keep your head down, Morgan,” the guy said, running a gentle hand through your hair.
“Take him over to the barn, please,” Pepper said, barely above a whisper as she refrained from breaking. “Don’t let Morgan see.”
Bruce headed that direction, followed by Steve, Thor, Sam, and Bucky.
Pepper spared Peter a look, noticing how he couldn’t take his eyes off you.
“Come on, Peter,” She said, gently, beginning her walk to the deck of her house. Peter followed her.
“Mommy!” Morgan shouted, clumsily climbing off her sister’s lap to run into her mother’s arms. Her face full of happy ignorance.
Peter and you caught eyes and he could see the endless emotions swirling in your eyes when his name rolled off your lips, like you couldn’t believe it was him: “Peter.”
He wasn’t sure what to say, his eyes welling up with tears that threatened to spill over when you got up from the swing and wrapped him in a tight hug.
He hugged you back and for a minute it was like nothing had really changed as you cried into his shoulder.
“I thought I’d never see you again,” you whispered.
“It’s okay,” he replied. “I’m right here.”
Peter opened his eyes to look at the man on the swing. He didn’t recognize him, but he guessed you and he were the same age; five years older than Peter now.
You pulled back from the hug and wiped your eyes. Then you noticed him glancing over your shoulder.
“Oh...” you said.
You walked over the guy and held your hand out. He smiled at you, taking your hand and standing up.
“Peter, this is Harley,” You said, turning to face him. “My fiancé.”
Oh. Oh.
Peter’s eyes shot to your left hand, only now noticing the ring that sparkled there.
Five years.
Peter swallowed hard. “Oh, that’s- that’s great, Y/N. Congratulations.”
The guy (Harley) looked at him sadly, almost with pity. It made Peter’s blood boil for no good reason.
“Hey, I think we need a second,” you told Harley. “Could you go see if mom needs anything?”
Mom. You called Pepper ‘mom’ now. That was also new.
Harley nodded and headed inside, leaving you and Peter alone.
At first, he hadn’t noticed many changes in you. Sure, the hair was different, but you still looked like you.
And now, looking closer, he noticed the five years.
You had more smile lines and small wrinkles around your eyes, and they had a new wise-ness to them they didn’t before. You also carried yourself differently, more relaxed. Like you were no longer afraid to do something that would upset the press because Tony’s your dad.
“I’m sorry, uh,” You rubbed your arm up and down with one hand. A nervous tick that hadn’t changed. “This must all be hard for you.”
“You just lost your dad,” Peter replied. “It’s hard for you, too.”
“We both lost him,” you decided, tears pooling in your eyes. “But I’ve grieved before and I’ll do it again.”
Avoiding the subject of your relationship, Peter asked, “Did Aunt May-”
“Blipped too,” You replied. “Same with Ned and MJ.”
“Oh,” It felt wrong to say ‘good’ but at least he wouldn’t be completely alone like this.
Silence fell between you for a few moments before you found the courage to explain.
“Harley was one of dad’s protege’s, too. Before you.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah...from when he got lost in Tennessee. They bonded and dad kept tabs on him ever since. We met for the first time around then, but we’re both attending MIT and found each other there.” You said. “I didn’t really date anyone after you were gone...dad and I grieved you together. You were the only thing we ever agreed on.”
Peter couldn’t help but laugh.
It made you smile.
“But we had to move on. At the time we didn’t think there was anything we could do. The world was changing and we had to grow with it. I went to MIT and met Harley again and we just...connected. I fell in love with him. We’ve been together three years now. Engaged for hardly a month.”
Peter smiled sadly. “I’m happy for you, Y/N, I really am but, to me, just yesterday we were cuddling and watching movies together...”
“I wish there was something I could do...” you said.
That hadn’t changed either. You were just like Tony, always wanting to save everyone.
“Can you hug me one last time? Then give me a phone to call Aunt May?”
You laughed. “The hugs aren’t going anywhere, Peter. I still love you...just not in the same way.”
The two of you embraced and Peter sighed against you. This wasn’t going to be easy.
“Hey,”
You broke apart to see Harley standing in the doorway. “Sorry to interrupt, but Pepper's trying to cook.”
“Oh my god, stop her!” You said. “She’s not cooking tonight. Do we have any frozen pizza?”
You fell right back into a comfortable state when Harley arrived, ready to rely on him for anything. That wasn’t a way you felt when you were dating Peter. He was glad to see the weight lifted off your shoulders.
You passed Harley at the door and he smiled awkwardly at Peter before following you.
Peter stood there for a moment, silently mourning the love he lost, and headed for the barn with the other avengers.

Dust to Dust
Summary: the snap, from Abby Keener's POV.
TW for terror in a school setting.
It was like a goddamn magic trick.
Some egotistical prune with terrible fashion taste snaps his fingers on the other side of the galaxy, and half the world turns to ash. Abby stopped trying to make sense of the world years before, but this broke any remaining shred of normalcy she had. Makes sense it did. It broke everything else.
The day it happened, everything was normal. Mom was gone by the time Abby woke up, a post-it note professing her love stuck to the counter. The car broke down before it even pulled out of the driveway, and Harley spent an hour and a half fixing it while Abby watched TikToks on her phone. When they got to school, the drop-off line was empty.
Abby poked her head out the window, examining the empty school campus. “We’re so late.”
Harley sighed dramatically. “Yes, I know.”
Abby pulled herself back into the car, pouting. “They’re not gonna let me in.”
Another sigh from Harley. “If they don’t, go get Mom.”
“But she’s working,” Abby whined. “She doesn’t like it when we bother her at the diner, and I’ve already skipped school this month ‘cause of that flu I caught, and I don’t wanna bother her.” She kicked the front of the seat with some prejudice. “Can you at least walk me in?” she pleaded.
Years later, Abby would remember this conversation while lying concussed on the floor of an alley, and wonder if Thanos had the gauntlet by then. She wondered how doomed ten-year-old her had been in that moment.
All the way back in 2018, Harley groaned. “Just go,” he ordered. He already sounded so tired and annoyed. The grease on his hands was smeared across the steering wheel. Abby didn’t want to push him. She stepped out of the car, crept silently towards the school. The car puttered past behind her. She turned, waving goodbye like she was trying to flag down a passing plane. She caught a glimpse of Harley’s reflection in the shattered rear view mirror. That was the last time she would see her brother for almost half a decade.
What happened next? Abby wasn’t sure. Somehow, she negotiated her way through the front office and into her classroom. They were supposed to be learning fractions, and she vividly remembered a row of numbers written in green on the whiteboard, but she remembered very little else from the actual lesson. Something was happening in New York, but no one was paying attention. New York was a world away.
The teacher finished her lesson and traded places with another teacher who immediately started on his history rant that centered almost entirely on unproven conspiracy theories. Some kids’ phones chimed with news alerts, but the teacher glared at them when they tried to pull them out. At the time, Abby looked at this and thought it was wrong.
Abby thought of this years later and laughed, then glared at a passerby when they looked at her weird.
By the time lunch rolled around, something was obviously wrong. The cafeteria had two ancient TVs set up, usually playing the news or some sort of mindless, background-noise sitcom, but when Abby looked at them, they were turned off. She would remember it forever: her face reflected in the black screen, kids whispering all around about what was happening (“Dylan said Loki came back, then that arrow guy shot Thor, an’ that’s what’s going on.”)
Then–well, the next part came in pieces. The girl she was sitting across from dissolved into dust. She didn’t even seem to notice, just stabbed at her chicken before melting onto the floor. People started screaming–one of the lunch ladies dusted into the mashed potatoes. Other kids were gone. Everyone was gone.
Then Abby was running. She was outside her school and racing across the football field that stood between her and the high school, screaming at the top of her lungs the whole way. She was crying and her tears were blurring the line between the green grass and the blue sky.
Then there was the high school, oh, the high school. Abby had to fight through a tide of panicking teenagers to get in. The next few minutes were blended together in a mess of random images; ash in front of an open locker; kids screaming and shoving each other as they ran for the exit; some of the teachers were standing in doorways, trying to corral the students.
Somewhere along the line, words came spilling out of her mouth. “I’m looking for my brother, has anyone here seen Harley Keener? Do you know where Harley Keener is?” But the dust clogged her throat and the words stayed stuck in her mouth. She could barely breathe through all the dust.
In the alley years later, Abby closed her eyes. She thought of the doomed little girl, crying and screaming and begging anyone who would listen for help. She thought of her brother, a pile of ash on the floor of a random classroom. She thought of the Avengers and Iron-Man and most of all her mom. Then she sighed and went to sleep.

writing harley keener: a synopsis
I’ve spent a (frankly embarrassing) amount of time writing this dumbass. so, in respect to this, I’ve broken down who he is and how that affects his characterization at different points in his life. enjoy.
HARLEY KEENER
age 1-7: don’t give him a pov. you’ll just make a fool of yourself.
age 7-11: snarky, cynical little shit who’s entirely unimpressed with the world around him (affectionate). he doesn’t know when to shut up, and will candidly inform you that his father doesn’t care about him. he insists he’s too old for stupid things like superheroes, but there’s a notebook under his bed with stickers and drawings of iron man. he eats an unhealthy amount of mac’n’cheese.
age 11-13: tony stark breaks into his garage, it becomes his personality for the next two years. he smiles a bit more, gets punched a little less. it’s the first time he’s seriously interested in mechanics. twelve different versions of potato guns are made.
age 13-15: boy has discovered redbull, and it’s done wonders for his adhd. the tony craze has worn off slightly, but not by much. the best term to describe this era is “smart idiot”. has a very strong obsession with nirvana. he builds a robot that flies, calls it anthony. maturity is at an all time low.
age 15-17: ✨depression✨ (cue dark, contemplative poetry about death and abandonment and angsty music playing in alleyways as he gets into more and more fights. his nose gets broken a record number of three times. he drinks and smokes and there’s scars up and down his arms. send help.)
age 17-21: he likes life more. not writing essays about death and darkness and despair. probably going to college, probably making his first real friends. learned how to play the guitar, regretted learning how to play the guitar. stops going to church. has a morally questionable amount of hair.
age 21 and beyond: he’s not okay all the time, but he’s over trying to be. sworn off alcohol, has a nicotine patch on the inside of his forearm. he has a comfortable amount of friends, and facetimes his sister on the weekends. wears stained tshirts and jeans and old hoodies. the new york times calls him the new tony stark, harley calls himself a mechanic.
in summary: he changes. shit happens. don’t make him sound like he’s 25 at age 12. if you don’t know if he would have said it, ask yourself if a young tony stark would have said it. you’re doing great.
