I love how Doctor Who has gone from BBC execs in the 60's not wanting the Doctor to have a granddaughter because they don't want to imply that he's had sex, to 15 just casually going "Yeah, I fucked Houdini, what about it?" THAT'S FUCKING CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT

Harry Houdini with every Doctor (1-15):
One: Something akin to professional curiosity. One starts chortling during a particularly daring escape, and Houdini decides he likes this stranger.
Two: Houdini flirts with Jamie who, of course, doesn't notice. But the Doctor does, and starts to wonder.
Three: This flamboyant peacock of a man explodes into Houdini's life. Having now understood what his predecessor was trying to figure out, Three takes no time in thoroughly having a lot of fun. Houdini is very happy about this.
Four: An interesting case. Less of a raw physical relationship and more like two colleagues who ended up lounging around each other and thought 'why not?'.
Five: They have tea together. Houdini is amused by the Doctor constantly bickering with the young Australian, whose girlfriend Nyssa is lovely. He isn't sure why the Doctor doesn't seem to notice this about the two women, though.
Six: More raw physicality again. Houdini got used to the coat after a while.
Seven: Houdini doesn't understand why the time lord keeps avoiding introducing him to his young friend Ace.
Eight: Whirlwind romance with lots of day drinking.
War: Houdini wonders why the Doctor hasn't visited in a while, and is faintly worried by the absence.
Nine: The time lord appears on Houdini's door one evening in the rain. They don't speak much at first, so Houdini just cuddles Nine. Sometimes he can see a deep grief in their eyes, and it scares him.
Ten: Houdini would like it to be physical but this face is somehow more depressed than the last. He wonders who this 'Rose' person is. The Doctor tells him to stay away from someone called... Captain Jack? Houdini doesn't understand, but he takes the Doctor at their word.
Eleven: They mostly talk about escapology. Eleven does kiss him once or twice, but they decide it's better to leave things at that.
Twelve: Surprisingly physical and tender. Whose are the names he whispers in quiet moments, seemingly without realising? Who is River? Who is Missy? Who is Clara?
Thirteen: The woman thing wasn't a big deal, but Houdini is baffled by the sheer intensity of the Doctor this time. She apologises whenever he gets close, saying that she isn't really into that at the moment. Houdini asks who this 'Yaz' is; the Doctor waves the question away, with a smile that doesn't reach her eyes and a blush that she doesn't seem to notice.
TenThree/ David Doctor/ Sorry-Mr-Tennant-I-can't-call-you-Fourteen: Houdini is happy that this face seems to have finally gotten some peace. His niece Rose seems lovely.
Fifteen: Houdini is physically reminded of the dandy again. In all the best ways.

Before his later stage magic career and paranormal investigations, The Amazing Randi was first known as an escape artist who sometimes imitated and improved upon Houdini’s famous stunts.
Randi himself apparently was the one who snuck the coded name “Harry Houdini” into this poster with the illustrator’s permission.
The artist signed only as “Jayson,” adding an untypical Y to that name, while dropping one from “Sydney.”

Arthur comes to the Phantomhive Manor for a visit one day, bringing along his good friend Harry Houdini.
Determined to prove to Harry once and for all that magic does exist, Arthur hatches a brilliant plan. He's certain that should Ciel see Harry's prowess in the arts of escapism and slight-of-hand, surely the haughty little lord would be unable to resist showing off his butler's superior abilities- abilities that most decidedly are not mere tricks of the stage.
It begins splendidly. Over cups of tea and elegant Hungarian pastries in honor of their guest, Arthur excitedly enumerates Harry's various successful feats. Ciel is fascinated and, bidding Sebastian fetch the appropriate supplies, demands a performance.
Harry puts one on, and what a performance it is- picking things up with his eyelids, selective regurgitating, card tricks that even Ciel can't unravel, and finally escaping a straitjacket and a pair of handcuffs (to his credit, he doesn't ask why Ciel has these in the first place).
"You know," says the little lord, after applauding with a rather unchildish gleam in his eye, "my butler's quite good at those sorts of stunts too, especially spitting things up. Why, I've watched him do it with real bullets. Perhaps you'd like to see?"
Intrigued, Harry takes his seat again, and it's Sebastian's turn to show off. This he does with gleeful aplomb; repeating everything that Harry's done and then adding in some little impossible-seeming twists of his own. Recognizing a fellow performer, Harry applauds wholeheartedly both the tricks and the true showmanship with which they were done.
"See," Arthur pleads. "It's magic, Harry, demonic magic, won't you admit at last that magic exists?"
It doesn't quite have the effect Arthur expected. Harry gets extremely offended on Sebastian's behalf. He informs Arthur in no uncertain terms that it's insulting to say such things; to reduce hard work and perseverance to mere sorcery or the supernatural is to cheapen and slander the arts of the stage.
Finding this whole affair colossally funny, Sebastian does not correct him.
A wink passes between master and butler, but through his near-tears of frustration, Arthur doesn't catch it.
Harry swallows the last of the pastries with an indignant huff.

Harry Houdini Scrapbook [Photographs with Jack London]
Creator/Contributor: Quincy Kilby (1854-1931), creator; Harry Houdini (1874 –1926), contributor
Date created: 1904-1926
Physical description: scrapbook
Summary: This remarkable scrapbook was compiled by Houdini’s good friend Quincy Kilby, a Brookline resident and Boston theater impresario. Materials in this large volume were collected over a twenty-year period and include personal letters, photographs, programs, newspapers clippings, and other unique memorabilia. Knowing that Kilby was amassing this collection, Houdini would send him items specifically “for your Houdini scraps book.”
The scrapbook is open to an eclectic spread of photographs of Houdini with Jack London and their wives in Oakland, California, in 1924; a lecture advertisement in which Houdini promises a sensational expose of miracle-mongers; and a note on Houdini’s personal stationery to Kilby with an apologetic postscript, “I was in Boston but was so fixt could not get away. Only 1 night.”
Location: Boston Public Library, Rare Books & Manuscripts Department
