Mr and Mrs Evans preferred James Potter more than Vernon Dursley, much to Petunia's jealousy and resentment

In late 1977, James met Lily's parents for the first time and they got along really well. Mr and Mrs Evans found James (who had a great sense of humour) very amusing and charming. Both of Lily's parents (especially her father) really loved James as if he were their son. Mr and Mrs Evans preferred James a lot more than they did Vernon and they got along a lot well with James than they ever did with Vernon, something which exacerbated Petunia's resentment and jealousy of her sister Lily even more. Had Mr and Mrs Evans been alive, their grandson Harry would have been dropped on their doorstep (and NOT the Dursley's) and they would have been loving grandparents to Harry and raised him like a son.

What are your thoughts on all this?

Came across a wild "bellatrix is a feminist icon" post with 100% sincerity from the poster. Yeah girl, torturing other women for not being pure of blood is soooo progressive! Poster also called Wanda and Cruella feminist 😬 God, can fandoms stop calling abusive/cruel/racist women "feminist icons"? I think the OP’s also forgetting that Bellatrix fawned obsessed over and devoted her entire life to a man who treated her like absolute trash. She actively supported an elitist terrorist group to take any non-purebloods’ rights away, she tortured countless innocent people, including women, and she was more than happy with tossing Hermione—a muggleborn woman—over to Greyback—who 1. is a pedophile, rapist, and cannibal 2. was strongly implied to have lusted after Mione—and let him do whatever he wanted with her. She didn’t even have a problem with throwing Draco—her sister’s son—to the werewolves. Bella’s entire personality revolved around 1. a man who couldn’t care less about her and took advantage of her “love” for him and 2. taking away people’s rights (she even murdered a house-elf bruh).

Me who just spent two minutes looking for more info about who anon is talking about and then actually found the post: I just found what you’re talking about, anon, and I’m going insane rn. The fact that I saw some Snape fans agreeing with the poster is making me… question things. (I like how the OP tried to use “why can’t a villain be a feminist icon?” as an argument 💀)

I remember seeing a “Bella is a feminist icon” post from harrypotterconfessions, I thought the person who submitted that was crazy for a sec but then I tried to gaslight myself into believing they were a troll and didn’t mean it. 😀 It scares me that there are people who think like this.

Feminism is not torturing people—including women (I feel the need to mention women because almost all Bella stans who think like this are misandrists)—into insanity and, like I said, actively supporting an elitist terrorist group to take any non-purebloods’ rights away. I cannot even think of a single thing Bella did in the entire series that would make anyone think of her as a feminist.

And I like how the OP tried to use Bella’s powers as evidence of her supposed feminism, as if there weren’t several other powerful witches in the series. Plus?? Bella got her ass kicked by Molly Weasley (and even got outsmarted by a bunch of teenage girls but that’s besides the point).

As for Cruella. If they’re talking about Cruella from the Cruella movie (she’s a total queen, Emma Stone was perfect for the role!), then I can at least understand it a bit more; she’s a diva and a fashion icon. But if they’re talking about Cruella from 101 Dalmatians, then how the hell is she in any way a feminist? The Cruella movie mostly acts as a stand-alone film, hence separate from the 101 Dalmatians universe, so I’m pretty sure it isn’t to be considered canon to the Disney film (correct me if I’m wrong, I didn’t find much info about it).

Potter / Snape “Rivalry”

Something on HarryPotterConfessions made me think. Did James ever know about Snape’s crush on Lily? Did he consider them rivals for her heart at all? It’s one of those things only seeing the past through ‘The Prince’s Tale’ leaves really open to speculation. I may have mentioned this all before but last time I read DH, I did pay especial attention to James in flashback and the start of their enmity seems to be on the train, when Snape says he wants to be in Slytherin House, James takes the piss. Snape takes the piss back. And boom it’s on and presumably escalates from there over the years.

Notability, James uses startlingly similar language to Draco Malfoy talk about Hufflepuff in Philosopher’s Stone that he’d rather be sent home than go into that house. Of course the difference is, Hufflepuff have a reputation for being useless duffers, whereas Slytherin has reputation for being a house of evil dark wizard users. 

There’s presumably an engrained House rivalry James has learnt from his parents at work there but also in Philosopher’s Stone, Dumbledore suggests the war has being going for about ten years. About Ten years is also more or less the time between the Potters going to Hogwarts and them dying. (Died at age 21, went to school age 11) 

So the first war may well have been going on/starting up just as this scene was happening and presumably wouldn’t have done anything good for Slytherin’s reputation as a dark evil house of evil. 

tl:dr from James Potter’s side, I think him disliking Snape had nothing to do with Lily and everything to do with the fact that Snape was a Slytherin.

I miss harrypotterconfessions a lot. The people there were so easily riled and I used to constantly send troll confessions to mess with them, and they would fall for it every time. It was so fun and it's no longer active.

I’ve read a lot of Drarry fics where they are adults living on their own in Grimmald place and the manor respectively, but I just don’t they they were live their because of their trauma.

Draco for the reasons that he was tortured/watched be being tortured in his own home. The manor was where people were held prisoner, including Luna who was a school mate of his. And for the reason is just being completely terrified everyday their because a mass murderer who was pretty much commuting genocide forced his way into their and forced people, including Draco to do his bidding for him.

There’s just too much trauma there for him to ever feel safe and comfortable there anymore.

For Harry it’s again because of his trauma but mostly because of his guilt. I just think that he feels too guilty about Sirius’s death that he won’t be able to be there without having his guilt tear him apart. I also think that the elf head on the wall would be too hard for him to see after Dobby’s death and would be a trigger for him. And the fact that the portrait of Sirius’s mom would throw slurs at him.

My headcanons for them is that they get their own places in an urban/suburban area because it’s not as loud as places in the middle of the city as they are still dealing with trauma and the loud noises would be a trigger and it’s also not too quite for so their minds don’t wander. Also I feel like complete silence would remind Harry when he was in the run for horcruxes and would make him feel uneasy.

When Harry and Hermione finally moved into their new house, Harry (while he was unpacking) found a photograph of James and Lily dancing and a wave of unexplained sadness and happiness hit him. He couldn't tell what it was. Hermione saw the photo he was looking at and decided to offer him a dance just like Lily and James. They were both tired after moving so they decided to turn on a song and dance to it. They danced slowly and happily. Once they were finished, Hermione hugged him and thanked him for being a wonderful partner to her.

I know this is considered old news, but there is going to be an HBO Max Harry Potter series! It’s currently in development though. But if I could choose the topic of the series, I’d really want it to be about the four founders or Hogwarts or the Black Sisters. I’ve always been curious on how Hogwarts was created, Salazar Slytherin’s betrayal to his closest a friends, and what the founders were truly like along with their backstories.

And with the Black Sisters, I’d like to see Narcissa, Bellatrix, and Andromeda's relationship. We’d finally be able to see Andromeda, Tonks’s mother and one of the few Black families that had been cast out. It would be cool to see how the three sisters interacted together and Bellatrix’s obsession with serving Voldemort as his Death Eater slowly unfold. And because the whole series would take place in the 60s/70s would be nice to see their fashion from that era! Honestly, the possibilities are endless for the Harry Potter universe!

(There is also a Harry Potter fan-film called Sisters of House Black that is based off of the three Black sisters! It’s amazing, and I’d totally recommend it.)

Kinda looked similar to your words, I think, so I wondered. Here's: "Why wolfstar is more popular than prongsfoot? This must be because of the films, because in the books, Lupin and Sirius aren't that close, and Sirius holds a deep affection, respect and interest for James, more than he feels for anyone else."

I don't think I sent any confession about that, although I do agree with them. I could be wrong though. My memory has gone really bad these days, for some reason. As far as I recall it wasn't mine.
