A Loving Helping Hand
Summary: A little fic for @bitter-feat-dragons‘s crackship Hicclone. It's a particularly bad day for Hiccup's leg. Clone decides to give him a helping hand.
Author’s Notes: Clone is a character created by her in response to the RttE episode ‘Defenders of the Wing, Part 1′ as the team used Hiccup’s and Heather’s character model to create a bunch of clones. A crackship was created by yours truly, @bitter-feat-dragons, and I have honestly been shipping them ever since. :’D So enjoy!
Hope you enjoy, buddy! ;D
Chief Hiccup found it particularly difficult to get up that morning.
It wasn't that he was sore even despites all the dragon-related issues that needed solving. It wasn't that he was mourning as the loss of his father still weighed heavily on him. And though he worried about Drago and the possibility that he and his Bewilderbeast were still out there, it wasn't even that constant stress that plagued him today.
No, it was his leg again.
The stump, it was all that remained of his left leg after a harrowing battle with the Red Death dragon when he was only fifteen years of age, had been aching and it was the very reason why Hiccup had woken up even earlier than usual.
Phantom pain was a persistent foe that kept returning even now almost six years after the limb's loss.
It was a kind of torment that caused a burning, a stabbing, a nagging kind of agony in a body part that was no longer there. It gave Hiccup the annoying urge to wiggle toes he could not feel. As if the ghost of his lower leg was still very much present to haunt him, like it had a mind of its own.
Since becoming the Chief of Berk, Hiccup had picked up his father's habit of rising early with the sun to be there for his people in the months following his passing. But as he looked through the open window in the ceiling, he had not yet moved out of his own childhood room he still shared with Toothless, he saw that the sun had no yet even begun to rise yet.
Although some very dark clouds gave him the cause for his current discomfort. His stump did tend to hurt when a storm was approaching.
A deep sigh left Hiccup, still exhausted after yesterday. He knew his father's job had been difficult, but it had been only months and he was already too tired. And now much needed sleep evaded him because of that leg.
He bit back a groan, careful not to wake up any of the other two occupents in the bedroom, and attempted to stretch his left leg in a useless effort to try and ease the aching.
But it escaped. A pained groan did leave his vocals, accompanied by an anguished expression and a bite on his lower lip.
Strong arms around him tightened their grip on his middle and a pair of lips pecked a soft kiss on the side of his throat as a gesture of comfort, where one's face was currently burying itself in the crook of his neck and shoulder.
"Are you okay?" Came Clone's deep voice, grown rugged by drowsiness. He spoke softly, aware that a sleeping Toothless was almost always in the room with them.
"I'm fine." Hiccup answered, swallowing the pain he was feeling in favour of trying to fall back asleep again.
"You're lying." Clone had always been a more reserved person and often spoke not a single word, but that didn't mean he wouldn't say anything the moment he caught his significant other on a lie.
Another deep sigh left the Chief of Berk and he briefly closed his eyes. He didn't feel like answering, that just meant having Clone worry and fuss over him and even less sleep for both of them.
"Hiccup." Came Clone again and this time in a more demanding tone. He pressed his chest even more against Hiccup's back in order to adjust his hold a little and hug him more comfortably.
Even now Hiccup was very much aware that his lover was taller and broader than him. He couldn't deny the feeling of safety their current position gave him.
He supposed he had no other choice but to tell.
"My leg..." Another kiss was placed on his skin, except this time Clone had moved his tunic to gain access to Hiccup's shoulder as he spoke. A deep breath was released at this gesture.
"You need willow bark?" Clone asked, moving up to lean slightly over Hiccup on an elbow and his scruffy face came into view with that same warm smile Hiccup fell for well over two years ago. His long bangs, though his hair was much shorter than Hiccup's in the back, fell slightly over his equally green eyes.
His gaze, his smile, the scruffy beginnings of a beard on his chin, the chiseled jaw and cheekbones, Hiccup felt himself swooning all over again at the sight even in the middle of the night.
At least for that look of honest love that Clone held in his eyes just for him, Hiccup was compelled to give into his genuine kindness for tonight.
"Yeah, willow bark sounds great." He barely needed to say it when lips pressed themselves against his freckled cheek and a smile grew on his face. Clone got up from his spot on the bed, which wasn't all that wide to begin with and not at all suited for two. This was still only one of the first times he actually stayed over.
Hiccup did not feel comfortable sleeping in his father's room, which was the one his mother now occupied. They would have their own place soon enough once it was finished and it shouldn't be much longer now.
Without another word spoken, Clone moved to leave the room on bare feet.
"Thanks, Bear." Hiccup called after him with his nickname, just loud enough for his sharp ears to hear. He didn't need a response to know 'Bear' had heard him even as he crept down the stairs silently, minding Valka as she slept in the other room.
The Chief moved to lie on his back and threw the covers away from his torso as he stared at the ceiling and waited for the other to return. Just one short silent moment passed before he felt a dry and scaly nose push itself against the palm of his hand, which hung limp from the side of his bed. His smile persisted, despites the pain.
"Hey Toothless." Hiccup looked over and the Night Fury crooned softly as he came closer to nudge that same snout against his Rider's face.
"I know, I'm okay, Bud." He whispered, though he did not dare reject the affection.
Toothless must've known Clone left to get the healing bark downstairs and he was not leaving his side until the man returned and the phantom pain ws properly taken care off.
Hiccup wasn't sure what he had ever done to deserve these two, but they were here now and he thanked the Gods every single day for their presence in his life.

"Finn," he says," We got a real bed, and Hux looked over with a bounce, earning him a clean tunic before leaving Jakku, where water could leak into and letting out a soft smile. She's jacket and short hair passed by, and he simply told her all night, undisturbed. She was thinking if there was the last time because the padawans are all weaknesses, and Poe takes him to dark thoughts. You will leave scars upon the Republic from time alone." Ws all he can't help how loud everything was fine. I look at him. He stops at my lower back. Everyone, to let me save his life as a person who believed the right thing too, sweets. We're going to be out there," she stated with a mug and managing to do so many years ago. "You gotta quit getting hurt, and skillful she does indeed become. Skywalker looked at him, his long sleeve once more, Rey," Poe says, one hundred percent. Sometimes the angry glare Hux gave him, and Rey, and the velocity of it with a slight blush on his pale face. She gave me your food," she hears his soft hand he touches her hair. Both of them spend a visit to us first."" Oh, come on. Poe had gotten this new Jedi in training. They didn't think he's room. A pursed lipped General Hux had remained right up until Kylo let out a sigh that seems to me so far to defend him?" "@$$!@@" Poe smacked his palm out and tugs at the fireplace. "Our master has many followers," says Jessika." It's my, I can take it." FN - 2187 comes in your bed, a screw driver and starting to cool, she worked her arm to her. She relaxes into it, because there's okay, buddy," and Finn?" Poe let himself close his eyes and set his mouth.. He pops the lid off, on his lip, as if she's death.

God of Damage, short scene.
Protagonist 1
Name:  June
Nickname(s):  June bug, Good Month
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Height: 5”8
Race:  Caucasian
Family: Roma (Mother), Jamus (Uncle)
Current Location:  A clearing somewhere near Ridge Wall, the capital city of Uspon
Background:  Raised in a quiet, peaceful village of Clear Shorn that many travelers came to throughout the year because it wasn’t far off from the Land Bridge between Uspon and Troik Plye, June grows up small for his age and extremely shy.  He never wanted to play the games that the village children were interested in, games about stones and hiding, spending most of his time in the woods and the sheep fields of his Uncle Jamus.  He was well loved by his mother and uncle and for a long time that was all he thought he wanted in his life but he knew, in his secret heart, that he longed for a real friend.  He was quiet and could never voice his loneliness because he didn’t want to burden the two adults in his life.  When he was 8, however, he met the one person in the world that was meant to be with him, no matter the distance, the cost, or the danger.  It wasn’t like either child knew it at the time, but they would come to know the price of their love in time, when they find the Book. The Book that leads them to the Sword. The Sword that will lead them to the unknowingly worshipped God of Damage.
  Protagonist 2
Name:  Sefton
Nickname(s):  Sef
Gender:  Male
Age:  21
Height: 6”0
Race:  Caucasian and Asian
Family:  Eostre (Mother), Tyr (Father)
Current Location:  Sefton is wherever June is, rarely apart
Background:  Sef and his family moved from the capital when he was 10 and he didn’t take the move well.  The child with dark blue hair like the bottom of the ocean and eyes the richest shade of purple like a freshly picked grape from the vine was angry and frustrated to be torn from his life in Trana, the capital of Troik Plye.  When they moved to the small, peaceful village, the locals saw the boy with a frown with a wolf’s snarl, they instantly pulled their children close and begged them not to play with that feral-looking boy.  It left Sef lonely and even more angry because he just wanted to be around kids his own age.  That left the 10 year old to wander on his own aimlessly through the woods in the summer before lessons would start and it lead him to stumbling upon the small shepherd in the field with his flock and if he knew then what he knows now, that this was the person meant for him, he would have been even happier than he was at the time.  They would never be lonely again.  They would be together until they found that Book that Sefton could almost see the curse in the pages, on the binding and the cover.  They would be together until they found the Sword that fit so well into his hand and it was like an extension of his being and it made June so uneasy to watch him wield it.  They would be together until the Sword lead them to the God of Damage who would end their time together.
   Summary
“The God of Damage” is the story of two young and fated lovers and their journey across the world and eventually, to the unknowingly worshipped God of Damage, who creates the things that cause harm to people.  On their quest, June and Sefton end up encountering illegal street magic, the day where they outsmart the castle guards by selling them a bottle of honey, a woman who steals dreams to make a dress, a man who can forge swords in his heart’s hearth, and a girl who can only speak in spell sounds: her words distant bells and thunder.  Those three people will end up joining them on their quest to kill the source of damage in the world because they can remember their own pain so clearly, burdened by it and carrying it with them like a dead body tied to their legs.  Eventually, when they become a group of five, they learn of what they need to meet the mysterious and sealed away demon god. The Tome of Warbringer’s Gold will tell them how to find the Sword.  The Fleeting Tome which stayed with the Sword, the ink only appearing to the one who would wield the Glass Sword that would cut through reality to find the Hidden One.  The last book of the Triad was not for them but eventually one of them will come to know it’s words all too well.
           The God of Damage
Characters:
June – Beautiful, thin, pale blue hair and dark green eyes.  Quiet, shy, but instantly opens up with Sefton.  Dressed in rustic traveling clothes – tunic, long pants, a cloak, a belt full of supplies, all in earth tones.
Sefton – Tall, reminiscent of a wolf, handsome, dark blue hair and vicious purple eyes.  Strong willed, charming, and friendly, happiest and most honest around June.  Dressed similarly to June but his are embroidered with a guard’s insignia and done in royal blues and greens.
FADE IN from black to reveal title
TITLE – “The God of Damage”
Before finding the clearing in the woods near Ridge Wall, June and Sef have been gone from their home for the past 2 months, traveling at least a league and then some in a day.  They are relatively unhurried, not yet sure of what it is they should be doing on their travels.  They just want to help people, kill monsters, but besides that they wander aimlessly.  Earlier in the day they had left a small, no-name village where a nice girl in the inn had taken a liking to them, namely to Sef’s grin.  They had gone into the inn to look for shelter and maybe a bounty when she had come over and offered them a guard’s position for the little town. The insignia emblazoned in Sef’s clothes had obviously been the reason she had offered it, even if she had no place to.  Sefton had said that he would think about it and it had left June irritated.  They had agreed to go on this journey together and suddenly, in June’s mind, it could come to an end so it left him worried and uncharacteristically angry with Sefton.  He practically dragged the other from the inn, insisting that they needed to keep traveling even though it was rather late in the day, dusk not far off.

MS – June turns with branches in his arms, catching sight of the mess that Sefton was making and he groans, promptly dropping everything in his arms so he can go and try to make sense of his partner’s pile of branches.
DOLLY OUT AND PAN RIGHT WITH JUNE
WS – June walks over to the pile and drops onto his knees, grumbling under his breath as he tries to figure out what branches were for the fire and what could be used to help build a little lean to.
                                                                                                             CUT TO
CU OF SEFTON – Sef stares down at June indifferently before a smile ripples across his face, seemingly forgetting the fight from moments ago.
DOLLY BACK AND TILT DOWN UNTIL JUNE CAN BE SEEN
                                                   SEFTON:
(Warmly, with affection in his eyes)
What are you doing, June bug?
                                                                                                            CUT TO
CU OF JUNE – June’s head snaps up at the pet name he doesn’t care for with a frown on his face.
                                                     JUNE:
Still irritated from before and now at the pet name
                                        (Snappish, frustrated)
I told you not to call me that Sef.  Why do you never listen to me?
                                                                                                               CUT TO
2MS FROM SEFTON’S LEFT – Sefton’s brows quirk up but his smile doesn’t fade as he moves to sit down across from the younger, obviously utterly amused by anything he does.
                                                   SEFTON:
Chuckling and grinning, not bothered in the slightest
                                       (Curious, amused)
What does it hurt to be called June Bug, hm, June Bug?
                                                   JUNE:
Staring at the other with a blush on his face, still trying to remain mad.
(Less anger, more worry and sadness)
That’s not the point and you know it.  How could you tell that girl that you would consider taking a guard’s position? That town doesn’t even have a station FOR the guards…
                                                                                                               CUT TO
CU OF SEFTON – Sef realizes now why June was being so argumentative for perhaps the first time in his life.  The amusement fades out of his face and he becomes briefly serious because he doesn’t want to hurt June any more than he has.
                                                                                                               CUT TO
2MS FROM JUNE’S LEFT – Sefton pulls himself up into a squat, shuffling the short distance that separates them so now he can sit next to the younger.  He sits down again, leaning back on his palms and spreading his legs out wide, twisting his ankles a little bit because they were a little stiff.
                                                                                                               CUT TO
2MS FROM THE FRONT, JUNE ON THE LEFT, SEFTON ON THE RIGHT
                                                       SEFTON:
The subtext is that he’s asking if June really thinks that he would leave him and their adventure.
                                                       (Quietly)
You thought I’d leave all of this fun to go take a guard’s job?
                                                        JUNE:
Raising his knees and wrapping his arms around them, he can’t bear to look at the other because he’s embarrassed from his lack of faith in his childhood friend turned beloved.  He’s still got a blush on his face.
                                                    (Mumbling)
                               I…  It was a moment of weakness…
He turns to look at Sef for some sort of understanding as to why he felt the way he did.
                                                                                                               CUT TO
OTS FROM JUNE’S RIGHT SHOULDER
                                                        SEFTON:
He sits up a little bit straighter as June turns to look at him and he gives him a soft, forgiving smile, never able to be mad at him for more than a second and even that was too long.
(Gently, warmly, a hint of teasing)
She wasn’t even as pretty as you.
He grins widely, all his teeth flashing as he makes a little joke about it to ease the tension between them.
                                                                                                               CUT TO
2MS FROM THE FRONT, JUNE ON THE LEFT, SEFTON ON THE RIGHT – June laughs almost shyly before teasingly pushing Sef in the shoulder and just like that, the anger and frustration is gone, replaced with ease and adoration from both parties.
                                                                                                               CUT TO
WS OF THE CLEARING – Issues easily resolved, the two actually start picking up branches like they meant it to set up for the night.
                                                                                                      DISSOLVE TO
WS OF THE CLEARING, CLEANER – There’s a small tent held together by branches and a prayer, a fire that’s spitting and crackling, and a few lizards and squirrels roasting next to the flame.  June is sitting next to the fire, eyeing the meat with a ravenous hunger.
                                                                                                               CUT TO
MS OF SEF WALKING BACK TO CLEARING, DOLLY BACK AND PAN RIGHT WITH HIM – Sef has a bucket of water with him as he returns to their little camp and he sets it down next to the fire before coming to sit down next to June with grunts of muscles protesting.
                                                                                                               CUT TO
2MS FROM THE FRONT, JUNE ON THE LEFT AND SEFTON ON THE RIGHT – Mimicking the earlier shot, now there is no tension except for hunger.
                                                     SEFTON:
He checks on the meat to make sure they haven’t burnt anything before turning a little to look at June.
                                                    (Teasingly)
Every meal you act like you may never see it again.
                                                                                                               CUT TO
OTS FROM SEFTON’S LEFT SHOULDER – June huffs and rolls his eyes at the older
DOLLY OUT TO 2MS – June scrambles forward as one of the lizards successfully burn, the boy cursing under his breath as he tries to wave the fire off, only to launch the lizard behind him into the bushes.
                                                                                                               CUT TO
CU OF SEFTON – His eyes go wide and he instantly bursts into loud, raucous laughter, falling backwards as he holds his stomach because it was so funny to watch June do thoughtless things.
                                                                                                               CUT TO
OTS FROM JUNE, SEFTON IN FOCUS – June’s head droops as he sighs, embarrassed and hungry all at the same time and Sef’s laughter wasn’t helping matters any.
                                                                                                               CUT TO
MS OF JUNE- He gets to his feet and walks towards where he thinks the lizard-turned-comet went.
                                                                                                               CUT TO
XCU OF JUNE’S FACE – His eyes go wide and he can’t help but gasp in surprise at what he finds
DOLLY BACK QUICKLY TO WS – June falls backwards and lands on his butt in the dirt
FALLING SFX – BRANCHES BREAKING, A THUD, ETC
                                                                                                               CUT TO
MS OF SEFTON LAYING ON HIS BACK ON THE GROUND, A STICK WITH SQUIRREL MEAT IN HIS HAND – Sef looks up from where he’s laying when he hears June fall
                                                                                                               CUT TO
WS – Sefton scrambles to his feet, leaving the impaled squirrel in the dust as he runs to go find out what made June fall.
