Okay so it's been a while and I saw a lot of people trying to sell the idea that Aaravos is lying to Viren about him dying on that night, because of that one Tweet were Aaron said this
Tumblr media
And when I first saw that tweet I thought it was really odd because they literally went out of their way to say that Aaravos never lies, not only in that one line in the show, but also in interviews, and Justin even said that if you know where his coming from, he's not lying. So why would they contradict themselves?? Just for one weak plot twist? No, they wouldn't.
Aaravos said with all the words, Viren will die when the sun rises, he said it MULTIPLE times in that episode, so what I'm trying to say here is that the catch is probably not about the fact that HE'LL DIE, but probably about what he have to do to NOT DIE.
What does that mean? Well, it could mean anything, really, just by myself I thought about that one theory that Viren will unlock the Star arcanum and achieve imortality (unlikely), there's the fact that we know the current spell is temporary, but they never said Claudia couldn't just... re do the spell???? (very unlikely), but if the answer lies in Aaravos' lines in the last episode, to me, there's just one thing that makes sense:
Infantis sanguine is not a spell that requires the death of a child, it's a spell that requires the BLOOD of a child.
There's not a moment where Aaravos say with ALL THE WORDS that DEATH is required for the spell. He LITERALLY says the spell is named for the ONE necessary ingredient, the BLOOD of a child.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When questioned by Viren he says
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes, I'm aware, sacrifices are often associeted with the killing of something, but sacrifices can come in many forms. And if the twist really is embendded into the double meaning of what Aaravos is telling Viren, "Sacrifice" would suffice as a "generalist" enough term to fulfill the role. But I'm not done talking.
Soon after, Viren says he's not a monster, and he would sacrifice his own children. Aaravos proceeds to calm him down and says:
Tumblr media
Curious how he chooses his words really careful, "harm", instead of "kill". Not convinced yet? Sure
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I will show you how to use every DROP of his living essence, to restore you OWN LIFE and you FUTURE." "every drop" "EVERY DROP" and more than one final gain. Doesn't it seems to imply that the main ingredient isn't the soul nor the life of something? but rather the actual blood, something that can be counted in drops?? If the main ingredient was the LIFE, then it would be gone the moment Viren kills it, then what the hell is that talk about the future???? Yo I'm not CRAZY.
The last thing Aaravos says about the topic is just this. Make the sacrifice. Not "Kill the creature", he never says anything clearly about death.
Tumblr media
He never taunts Viren about killing the being, never tells him not to worry about killing something that doesn't actually has a soul, that would fit him perfect, he went out of his way to tell Viren that the being is their ACTUAL child, and for what reason you might be asking yourself? I don't know either, but I saw one theory that this was a test on Aaravos part. Maybe the reason why he stood there, quietly, while Viren stormed off and cut ties with him wasn't just because he doesn't need him anymore (?? He doesn't need Viren for a long time now, come on, why's he clinging to him is a mistery to me, but I won't let the viravos in me talk louder haha), but maybe, just MAYBE he was testing his morals (?), what he truly stands for, if he already knows that Viren wouldn't sacrifice his children, but to what extent does this goes? can it include anything that falls under the label of "his children"? Can he really sit back and wait for the inevitable death and do nothing?
I have no idea why exactly would Aaravos play these mind games with him, it's not just a wild guess tho, I'm coming from the perspective that it might be related to his own motifs, the things we don't know about him yet and the special person from that past once mentioned in an interview. But here's some food for thought:
Once in season 2, Viren asked Aaravos why should he trust him, and Aaravos said he shouldn't... yet. Aaravos told Viren that he would like to gain his trust, there's even one of my favorite lines in the show (if not, MY FAVORITE)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
To me, that scene is just too personal, he could have just listened to Viren's wishes and shared with him how to solve the problem, but he pours his own perspective in the matter, and I do in fact think that this is his actual principles. I think Aaravos does care about loyalty and kindness. Pherhaps it has come to the point where Aaravos will test if he can trust Viren, maybe he'll wait until the final moment to reveal the truth. And to be honest, Viren doesn't even need to harm anyone, because Claudia is already bleeding (she lost her foot!!!).
Personally, I can see that being the case, I might be wrong about how and why it will be revealed in canon, but that does seem to be the only thing off in the story.
What ya'll think?

Twin Peaks/Dragon Prince thoughts
Okay so I was never going to write a post that combined two of my sorta diametric interests - namely The Dragon Prince cartoon and Twin Peaks, even tho I've low key considered it.. but then they literally put out a fricken dream scene with Viren, Kpp’Ar, Sparklepuff and Opeli explicitly mirroring Twin Peaks.. so now I guess I will ramble on for a long time about this despite not really having anything sensible to say…
First up – massive spoilers are ahead for both Twin Peaks and TDP Season 5… Twin Peaks is in my view one of the most weird and interesting television shows ever made - like it's very David Lynch, so I guess you'd have to like that vibe - BUT if you haven’t seen it and are at all interested in watching it, and don’t want very essential plot elements spoilt please don’t read below this cut.. IT WILL SPOIL STUFF!
Not sure anyone will be left at this point, but a very condensed speed run of the twin peaks plot for the sake of drawing out some parallels later:
Laura Palmer is found murdered in her small home town where a veritable list of ner do well characters who are possible suspects also reside. Call in special agent Dale Cooper to solve the crime, so far, so police procedural…
This is when the plot starts to go a little left field - as well as the drug smuggling, illegal casino, insurance swindles, arson, doubling crossing, false murders, real murders, faked deaths, real deaths that are just part of everyday life in this quaint little rural US town, a portal exists to a place called the red room or the waiting room and to the white and black lodges which by and large represent forces of ‘good’ and ‘evil’ and hold within them certain denizens who might help or hinder, or just be completely bizarre and unintelligible depending on their inclinations...
One of the evil denizens is Bob - Bob is pretty much the representation of pure evil, he possesses people and encourages them to fill his own base desires.
After a certain amount of investigation the original crime is solved, the presence of Bob and the lodges is revealed and the show gets a whole lot weirder as it moves through the rest of the second series and the third (set 25 years later)
At the end of season 2 the good Dale Cooper goes into the red room and gets stuck in there while an identical version of Cooper emerges but this one not so wholesome and possessed by Bob.
There’s a lot more to it, but I’ll get into the relevant points and possible, tho probably very tentative TDP parallels as they come up.
Anyway to break it down.. in the short scene we see we have Kpp’Ar - here I believe framed mirroring the role of the one armed man, Mike, he could also be framed as the giant theoretically but given the arm/bandage motif I’m going to say he’s the one armed man..
Tumblr media
The one armed man used to run with Bob until he saw the light and changed his ways, and he cut off his arm to do this a little drastic perhaps? because he had a tattoo on the arm that linked him to Bob. So a possible parallel here to Kpp’Ar having also realised his dark magic/blood tie with an ancient evil entity and trying to rid himself of it through cutting it out of his arm, go, go my guy. The one armed man acts as one of several pretty obtuse guides for good Cooper in the show.
Will Kpp’Ar come back and do this for Viren? Eh probably not, I can’t even speculate on that sort of thing, so let’s leave that parallel there.
Right, Sir Sparklepuff also gets a little cameo as the the arm/the man from another place.. a cryptic clue giver who speaks unintelligibly and also has some natty dance moves..
Tumblr media
So the arm is a fairly ambiguous character, he hangs with the evil denizens, he hangs in the waiting room, he helps, or he doesn’t, it’s pretty vague.. he is the part that was cut out to remove the evil influence, but I’m not sure where that could go if anywhere… Onto Viren, who is framed taking the role of FBI agent Dale Cooper, Cooper goes into the red room for good reasons, he wants to save his girlfriend Annie… unfortunately he doesn’t and instead he gets stuck in there while his doppelganger possessed by Bob escapes and goes on to run merry havoc for the next 25 years…
Bad Cooper is a corrupted figure who can give corpse face Viren a run for his money annnd… he also has black eyes… nice…
Tumblr media
This is just how your eyes go when you're evil.. so err.. stay good kids
Tumblr media
On the other hand it does look like you have a lot more fun going feral
Meanwhile the good version of Cooper has to escape from the waiting room, and trust me, it takes a long time…
Then we have Opeli as the log lady.. now the log lady, also called Margaret Lanterman, we are given to believe was once abducted as a child by aliens (there’s a pretty strong interest in conspiracy type stuff in twin peaks without it ever completely leaning in and going there, well I guess it does, let’s just say there are a lot of things beneath the surface) Margaret grows up just fine though, but on the eve of her wedding night to a fireman there is a fire in the woods, and hubby to be goes and gets himself killed fighting the flames. Margaret takes a log from the scene and caries it round with her ever after with it being heavily implied that the spirit/soul of her almost husband is in there and passes her messages with regards to some of the goings on in the town.
Tumblr media
Hey Opeli guess what? Rayla's breaking into Viren's study... ahem..
Like anyway why did Opeli get this role? I have no idea, she's the only available female character?? Anyway Opeli says backwards the line - the jelly tart you like is going to come back in style.. the log lady does not say this in the show, but there is a pivotal scene where all the murder suspects in the Laura Palmer case are gathered together and the guilty party is approached by a white lodge denizen and told that gum you like is going to come back in style.. that's how they find out whodunnit.
So the premise of Twin Peaks is that the guilty party is also shown to be possessed by evil entity Bob and it raises some interesting questions within the fandom regarding an individual’s culpability for their crimes or whether the possession was the root cause of them and I feel like I can’t really dance around it anymore so I will say again if this show sounds interesting and you want to watch it unspoiled with regards to the murder STOP READING HERE.. also I will be going onto the darker themes of the show and you are warned they are kinda dark…
...
Right okay it was her father, Laura’s father, Leyland, possessed by Bob raped and abused her for several years and then murdered her and others when it became clear she knew it was him.
Now every time Laura was abused in the show she sees the face of Bob not her father. There is debate whether this is trauma projection, whether it is in fact evil entity Bob controlling the father’s actions… I mean there’s a lot of interesting stuff to go into, but I won’t, because I only want to look at the possession angle here.
Okay, onto the topic of possession and free will, specifically with regards to Viren and also dark mages in general.. so we have seen Aaravos possess Callum explicitly, based on one use of dark magic, whether he was able to do this due to Callum’s proximity to the mirror... not sure? He also possesses Viren very obviously on a couple of occasions, but they also have the blood tie... so it's likely that dark magic allows Aaravos to exert his influence on those who practise it as has been explored by others.
Anyway there is another factor I have kinda been low key wondering about - whether the staff of Ziard has certain possession/persuasion potential.. now I’m not going to come out and say the staff holds sway over Viren and tells him what to do because this puts a certain absolution on Viren’s actions that I don’t think is justified by the narrative BUT I do also think it would be kinda cool if Aaravos with his links to the stars and future predictions had a way of seeing what might happen and engineering his own deliverance through the push/pull of the staff.
Tumblr media
Not betting any hard cash on this theory...
We don’t know when Viren first gets the staff, I have to re-watch that dream sequence and possibly wait for puzzle house because I have at least some thoughts it might be what Claudia finds in there.. but he doesn’t have it in the Puzzle House pages I’ve seen and he does before Magma Titan because he takes it with him..
So... I don’t know if there is a slim possibility that while the staff might not possess a mage it might subtly lead them towards an end goal - slaying an archdragon say, who holds the mirror window into Aaravos’s prison, and thereby allowing the dark mage to come into possession of said mirror and thereby setting the whole train of freeing Aaravos in motion..
Now fine, this is a bit of a stretch, could easily be Viren is simply fuelled by his desire to kill a dragon out of revenge/hubris a desire to rekindle his relationship with Harrow (ahem) but I kinda like the idea that there is a very subtle pull leading him in that direction through the staff, and Aaravos does at least seem pleased to notice that staff in his possession, while Viren visibly shies from it throughout much of s4…
This could mirror a little with the possession/influence themes of Twin Peaks - there is a ‘good’ Cooper and a ‘bad’ Cooper, but they are really the same Cooper and it is the flaws in the good that allow for the evil influence of the bad to take hold - Cooper has a weakness for trying to save women in peril, it gets him in trouble… Viren seems to have a weakness for power and doing anything for his family, however dangerous, however vile - personally I don’t really like to read stuff purely in terms of a good/bad white/black dichotomy.. but I do like character flaws leading to the wrong path and imperilling your soul.
This all inclines me towards the Aaravos is pure evil and the Prometheus and even Lucifer stuff was just a bit of a tease. In Twin Peaks the unleashing or at least the amplification of evil in the world is linked very explicitly in one episode to the dropping of the atomic bomb, this is framed as a cataclysmic event during which mankind press the button on their own potential annihilation...
Tumblr media
s3 episode 8 - I don't think will ever be surpassed for am I hallucinating or is there something very weird on my tv at 4am vibes
I know there have been some links between dark magic and nuclear power parallels made by other people but I can’t remember the details and it has always been something I’ve kinda chewed around a bit without having any specific thoughts or beliefs on, other than ouch corruption looks a lot like radiation burns… but I can see an analogy for something that is created to both serve humanity giving us a fairly unlimited power source, while also giving us the ability to pretty much obliterate ourselves and the planet which - tbh best not to think about how close that has already been...
Dark magic is clearly a force that can be used to benefit humanity, healing, feeding 100,000 people etc, etc.. but it is also being lined up as something that holds its own peril, that probably isn’t a power to be wielded by inconsistent, unreliable and sleep deprived humans, and it’s been given to them by Aaravos? Like I think that has not yet been explicitly stated in cannon but the signs are all there.. so hmmm..
Anyway all told this has led me down quite a few lines of thinking that I don’t really have any definitive conclusions for because they are by definition not issues that can be neatly tied up with a bow... at least not by me.
Then Viren is pretty much comatose for the rest of the season much like Coop/Dougie is season 3 of Twin Peaks.. rip my guy...
Tumblr media
Viren having the standard reaction of anyone trying to work out wtf is going on in Twin Peaks
Anyway I have never seen any fellow Twin Peaks fans out in the Dragon Prince wilds, but if you’re out there please come and rip this to shreds if you want.. I have a sieve like memory and I’m usually pretty wrong about most stuff, plus I wrote this after 4 hours sleep due to the drop time, sooo please excuse any mistakes...

Ok so I didn’t really think about this until this season and now I realize how Claudia has said stuff like it in past seasons. Claudia tells Terry that her dad is all she has left and in season three she tells Viren “We’re all that’s left of our family”. So this either means that Soren is dead to her or that she at least no longer considers him family because he chose to leave rather than stay. This also extends to her mother too. As I’m writing this I’m realizing how much Aaravos will probably use this to manipulate her. It didn’t slip past me that he wasn’t too upset at Viren refusing to do the spell. I’m sure he had a plan for if Viren went along with it, but Aaravos is a puppeteer who sees the big picture. A master strategist if you will. He’s certain to have more than a few backup plans. In regards to Claudia he could tell her that he tried to get Viren to do the spell, but that Viren selfishly refused. I’m doing so he’d make her believe that even her dad, who she sacrificed and suffered so much for, chose to abandon her and that only he is truly there for her. I’m not totally sold on this tho. I think there are other possibilities for how Aaravos may use Viren’s refusing to do the spell to his advantage.

(spoilers for TDP season 4)
OKAY. so i dont really do these kinda posts but id like to say a few things about season 4 cus ive seen some things and the fandom making theories, i just like to write about my own thoughts. ive watched s4 only one time due to not having netflix so i dont really remember many scenes.
"season 5 when?" are you good?? the season 4 just dropped 3 days ago! Im serious when i say ive seen multiple people already posting this question mostly on YT comments or Insta. also the fact that they're not artists OR a fic author makes sense honestly. they have no idea how animation works.
"rayla's acting weird" this is what frustrats me the most. NO she's not... ok maybe a little. but like. come the fuck on, she was gone for 2 years. ofc she's not the same person we saw in season 3. people change. plus, personally, i dont see any difference on her except this one time when callum asked her to...kill him. yes rayla acted a lot calm in that scene- not just that scene really. she was so calm most of the time, but i can see why? she's trying to get callum warm up to her, she's giving him space, she's being gentle as much as she can cus she knows how much she hurt him. she's grown up, she's not the same hot-headed, irritated elf anymore. and we all know how she hides her feelings. Im pretty sure she's gotten used to it, or managed to cope her feelings well so that she can stay calm. lastly about rayla, all i have to say is people change, so does rayla. and no she's not fake at all.
firstly, if rayla's acting weird, what about Viren being supportive with Terry? isnt that weirder? he didnt even treat his own son better, but he's supporting a trans fella? sus.... secondly, what about opeli being so chill about Ez going with Zubia. in that case most of the characters in s4 were out of character. and that's okay cus it's been 2 fucking years!
personally i think the "Zubia in Katolis" scene was a bit rushed. they couldve done it better but Im not saying it was bad at all tho! i loved the scene with the whole callum doing magic thing and the dragon sized jelly tart? xD
"why is rayla back?" why not really. she realized it was useless to find viren and came back home? she realized she wanted to see her mage? "we had something so special. but I became so obsessed with revenge, i.. risked losing the best thing ive ever had... you" she CLEARLY missed him yall. ofc she came back.
"where's the rayllum kiss" Im glad we didnt get a rayllum kiss. I know this is a cartoon show but at least the animators made it similar to how an in-real-life relationship works. people dont just go "you were gone for two years but its okay, i forgive you, lets kiss". Callum needs time to get used to being around rayla again. he's happy but also angry, he needs to see how hard rayla's trying to win callum's trust back. it was so clear that callum got a bit comfortable with rayla again in the last few episodes, especially the last one. That hug was enough sign for us to know they're gonna be okay and that they're still deeply in love.
Stella isNT EVIL YALL. leave my poor baby girl alone >:c
the fart joke was......nuhuh. idk if it's just me but it was gross. i dont wanna remember how much i cringed.
claudia was a bit- no fuck it- she was too much this season. especially in that scene where she tricked rayla with pebbles. god that hurt so much.
Lastly, Season 4 was amazing!! i loved season 4, and all the new things we saw. the arc is building up, it's so interesting, im so excited for season 5.

Hello! How are you doing? This one’s a fun one. I assume that with Shademan being in here we’d have dark chips. Knowing that they cause dark emotions to be magnified I wonder how they’d effect the NEC-Navi’s(Terra) especially with Shademans ability how would it affect them? Especially if one of them is stuck in a long term exposure situation to the dark energy and emotions from Darkloids if say one was captured or something?Especially cause they can’t be held in one area due to their ability to go out into the real world and depending on their strength levels I’d assume Terra or Sunstar would be more dangerous. Tho I assume Sunstar wouldn’t be the most likely target because he spends more time in the real world while Terra stays more in the net. Do you think Shademan could possibly be able to go toe-to-toe with Terra or another NEC-Navi or just easily snatch one knowing his ability’s? How would this affect the others especially cause I assume theirs some regret over past experience with being overwhelmed with dark emotions? I’d assume if any of them were captured and held captive to use as a weapon it wouldn’t go over well. Especially with Sunstar. Anyway I hope you have a good day/night! Thank you!
Answers below! Been working on this response for quite a bit. Hope I got everything!
How do Dark Chips affect Navis?
Depends on who made them and what type of Navi they’re used on.
Dr. Regal manufactured his to function like a drug. You’d get a brief power boost, but then the withdrawals would hit–and they were lethal. The more you consumed, the faster they’d kill you. He intentionally programmed his chips to be this way.
Regal Chips → Bad.
Minx manufactured hers to function like recovery chips. She only made hers with Ra Moon in mind, knowing pure negative energy was needed to heal himself in a way normal recovery chips couldn’t.
Minx Chips → Good.
Using a Dark Chip on a ‘normal’ navi is not recommended, since they were made with Darkloids in mind. Depending on how strong the chip is and how many consumed, there could be several side effects:
Increased strength and agility
Deliriousness, loss of control, violent ideologies, lashing out, memory loss, etc.
Conversion into a Darkloid (as seen with Blues in the anime)
How do Dark Chips affect the Stardroids?
They give them a power boost, if anything at all, but a small one.
The Stardroids are already powered by Negative Energy Crystals, which are about as pure an energy source as you can get. Dark Chips are far weaker in comparison.
To compare Dark Chips and NE-Crystals, think about drinks! You’re in the middle writing a paper and need some energy to get you through. A can of Dr. Pepper has 41 mg of caffeine. A BANG energy drink has 300. Dark Chips are like Dr. Pepper and NECs are like BANG. If you drink the BANG you’re gonna be way more wired (or more powerful, in this case)
More on the last bit, though–
Minx manufactured her own Dark Chips to help Ra Moon as ordinary recovery chips did nothing for him, likely due to his alien code. Her method of making them differed from Dr. Regals and they were not mass-manufactured. She had a very limited supply, and they were usually reserved for emergencies.
Reviewing some of my Doc notes:
Dark chips are both very illegal and expensive as they boast an ability to permanently increase a Navi’s base stats. Minx purchased one and used it as a reference to make her own. Edward and his son found more than just Ra Moon when poking head around the crater the navi left, too (let's call them Dark Chip Crystals/Crater Crystals).
Dr. Regal was able to mass-produce so many dark chips because he would infuse his machines with Viren NEC shards, which would in turn fuel the chips without needing an individual crystal for each one, unlike Minx, who used an unrefined material (Crater Crystals) for her dark chips, hence her needing a crystal shard for each individual Dark Chip.
What would happen if there was continuous exposure to negative energy? To Dark Chips?
Hm...if one of Dr. Regal’s Dark Chips were used on a Stardroid, I imagine they would feel ill/become weakened purely as a result of the ‘kill code’ embedded into the chip's design that forces data to slowly delete itself. I’m sure the Stardroids would have a method to deal with poisoned data eventually, but whoever is afflicted would definitely need down time until they found said cure.
Fun fact! Around the end of arc 1, Minx reveals her knowledge of Dark Chips with the main cast in SciLab so they can start working on a cure, or at the very least a way to slow down the voraciousness of Regal’s data deletion program afflicting [a captured Darkloid].
This backfires on her later.
Long term exposure to negativity for any normal Navi is bad. Darkloids get stronger with it, though they become more dangerous to others. The thing about Darkloids, though, is that they willingly give in to those urges/to the power high. NEC-Navis/The Stardroids do not. Think of it as a battle of will! The Stardroids feel the urge to lash out and destroy, sure, but like all NEC Navis, they were taught to restrain themselves from their “evil” urges, lest they become a threat to Viren society and be…dealt with. Either by Sunstar or some willing GVC soldier.  That doesn't mean some of them wouldn't give in to temptation, though. Eyeballing Mercury here.
The over-exposure to a 5-NEC Sunstar resulted in the Stardroids becoming nearly as unfeeling as their leader. They were still themselves at their core, sure, but anyone without the capability to feel remorse would act in cruel and unusual ways to get what they wanted. No moral compass to tie you down, you know? Especially if the only thing preventing you from taking certain actions is the vague memory of knowing you wouldn’t have done so in the past, or that it would upset someone you know you’re supposed to love.
Regardless, the scariest NE-Navis aren’t the mindless ones who snapped and lashed out blindly, but the cold, calculating ones who could pick apart a system by its threads. That’s what made the corrupted Stardroids so scary–people could tell there was something wrong with them, but couldn’t do anything because the Stardroids hadn’t done anything to warrant getting captured.
How would Sunstar react?
Hoo boy, seeing his fellow stardroids fall prey to their urges again would mess. Him. up.
You’re right that he would feel extreme guilt that he let this happen under his watch again, even if he’s not to blame this time.
Shademan vs The Stardroids?
I think Shademan would stand a pretty good chance against some of the tankier Stardroids like Uranus or Mars, simply because they're easier targets. Smaller ones like Venus would also be at a disadvantage, since she wouldn’t be physically strong enough to handle his close-combat attacks. Neptune is pretty slow out of water, but he does have his acid attack–so it’s a solid maybe for him. In water though? Good luck Shademan.
Shademan would probably struggle the most against the faster, more clever ones like Pluto, Jupiter, Terra, etc. Terra is the strongest out of that group, though, given his combined experience and long-range weapon.
Mercury and Sunstar are..in their own league.
Kidnapping a Stardroid?
Excluding Terra and Sunstar, all the others generally travel in pairs of two. Even if they were confronted one-on-one, the Stardroids are frustratingly powerful, and all of them have years of battle experience–far more than any Earth Navi–a run for their money. Kidnaping one of them is uhh..pretty unlikely.
Even if one Stardroid was indisposed or cut off from the others, it’s likely they would be found relatively quickly due to their unique energy signatures (thank you NE-Crystals). That’s not to say you’d be able to identify who is who if you placed two stardroids on opposite sides of a wall from one another, though. The only NEC navi that’s relatively easy to pick out would be Sustar, but that’s just because he has a much stronger, more concentrated energy (2 NECs) to pick up on.
The Stardroids/NEC Navis can also pick up on Darkloid signals, but they’re much more…faint? If that makes sense. Weaker energy source and all that.
But back to the first bit– you’re right about Sunstar being regularly unavailable as a target due to being in the real world more frequently. When Terra isn’t in his office on the Stardroid’s spaceship (or inside the ship’s systems), he can be found rooting out issues on the Net. Said issues are generally Viren or Darkloid-related, though. The existence of Darkloids disturbs him greatly. I mean, how do similar beings made of negative energy exist, if the Virens were destroyed ages ago? =)

S4 of the dragon prince was… a bit underwhelming. Especially since a majority was about something that apparently happened off screen during a time skip in a damn tie-in comic. Like. Bold of them to assume everyone watching is even aware of the comic. Let alone read it. They should’ve released a special episode that basically covered the events of the comic placed at the end of s3.
Like how The Sandman dropped Dream of a Thousand Cats/Calliope at the end of the current season. Plus Zubera really isn’t that interested in helping prevent the release of Aaravos. She sees some rocks and is like “oh no. I guess my work here is done” “but you didn’t do anything?” and abandons them to walk round the long way, when she could so easily destroy the rock pile. She’s a fucking dragon with lightning powers but I guess it’s; Who Would Win? A big Dragon Lady, or *pile of rock*. Rex Igneous took care of the rocks like it was nothing (and don’t give me Oh But He’s the Earth Arch-Dragon! Only he can move rocks! bc the guy shoots a yellow beam from his mouth sure but he brute forced it so no reason Zubera couldn’t.
And if anyone tries something sexist like Male Dragons are stronger than female dragons then congrats! You fail to appreciate that a dragon, especially an Arch Dragon, is a force of nature on legs and with a usually annoyed or tired disposition and have immense strength due to being a damned dragon. Also the Netflix image lies on how Rex looks. It depicts him (especially his face at least) as golden yellow, and he’s mostly brown.
Aaravos tho? That sexy elf stole the show in the one scene he was in like a Boss. Just possessed Callum, roasted literally everyone, then fucking Mic Dropped like the cool sexy bastard that StarTouch Elf is
Also why did we waste time with Callum find the Google Translate Book and deciphering the mirror runes if Zubera was literally just gonna monologue to us about it. It’d have been better if even with the book the runic script was a mystery. Adding to the fact the dragons used some kind of magic to erase mentions of him from history like when Viren tried researching Aaravos only for the words to blur and fade whenever he tried to look. And giving more validity for the dragon queen to tell us about it bc naturally she would know exactly what it was and did due to viren stealing it from Stormspire after slaying Avizandum/Thunder

“Fractures” Keyart
I noticed a bunch of things about the fractures keyart on the dragon prince website before season 4 came out, and then after it came out the things made sense. And I’m only now posting it
so in case you haven’t seen it yet, this is the artwork:
Tumblr media
Notice anything odd about it?
1- Rayla has a crack down the middle of her face. No one else has a crack so disruptive. She’s changed throughout her journeys to find Viren, different to the past seasons. She’s grown, changed, experienced things that we don’t know. She’s broken, split in two halves - her past self (energetic, alive, not optimistic but at least ready to help others if she can), and her new self (“we can’t save everyone, soren”, the girl who failed for two years, the girl who lost everyone and everything)
2- Everyone’s eyes are open but Viren’s are closed - Viren has also changed. His character has developed in ways none of us thought were possible. His eyes are closed- he can’t see where his path is going. He’s also dead so that could be why. It could also be that he’s blind to what’s right and wrong now - he spent two years dead, without dark magic amplifying his bad parts, without aaravos whispering in his ear and amplifying the amplified bad parts. Now he’s confused, in the dark, blinded.
3- Aaravos is the only one without any damage to his little section thingy - everyone else has cracks, big or small, sometimes interrupting their face and sometimes not. If they don’t have cracks, they have shards pointing at their face threateningly. But Aaravos’ is completely intact and whole. He’s the mastermind, the one behind everything that’s happened. The entire show so far has all gone according to his huge, sinister plan. Idk every step is of his plan, but it feels like every single thing that has happened is part of his plan. Even the good things. Like Rayla getting the coins back means they’ll be spending heaps of time trying to get them out of the coins, meaning they won’t be spending enough time trying to stop Aaravos. And because they were trapped with dark magic, they might need to use dark magic to free them, meaning they’re even more of a target to Aaravos. Or even Amaya and Janai getting married. Aaravos wants to be free and (I think) to rule all of Xadia. But a lot of feuds start to tear apart the sunfire elves and the humans, even tears apart some sunfire elves from each other and humans from each other. (Like Janai and Karim. And humans taking sides of elves in the feuds and fights, causing rifts between families and friends, and vice versa). If they’re all torn apart, that leaves Aaravos free to (presumably) rise up and make them unite somehow in some evil way and stop the fights by making them all follow him. Idk if that makes sense, it made sense in my head but then I forgot how words work. Just trust me here, everything is according to his plan. And bad things too, like the obvious: Claudia getting the map so she can free him. Other stuff too probably. (I’m really tired I can’t think. If you can think of any other examples tho, lemme know! I’m interested to hear everyone’s theories and stuff cos my own are pretty messy)
4- Like Rayla, Claudia has a crack in her face, but rather than in the middle, it’s only breaking off the part of her hair that’s still its natural colour. Or, in other words, it’s breaking off the parts of her that are yet to be touched by dark magic.
5- Terry is on the opposite side of the mirror (or whatever it is) to Claudia and Viren, despite being “on their team”. He travels with them. He’s with them all the time. He helps them and supports them. He’s dating Claudia. But honestly it feels like he’s on the wrong side. Presently the only exposure he’s had to Viren is what Claudia has told him (and Claudia reveres Viren, so he’d only hear good things), and Viren in a weird place both mentally and physically, so he’s never been exposed to the real bad evilness that everyone else saw in season 3. As for Claudia, they’re dating (Claudia might be using him or something, their relationship feels really weird but not in a fun way, but that’s a post for another day), so it’s hard for Terry to see her bad sides. But near the end, he starts to see some cruelty from her, so I’m hoping that over time he’ll finally realise. He’s like Soren - a good heart and a good person, but on the wrong side that he thought was the right side.
6- This one’s pretty small, but everyone is looking left or right, up or down, but aaravos is looking directly through the mirror, at the audience, at his freedom.
just some things to think about
If there’s anything else about this you noticed that I missed, or anything to add to something I said, don’t hesitate to let me know! This is my favourite keyart of all of them and there’s so much I picked apart from just six things I noticed, so there’s no way I got it all
That’s all I have for you today. I’ve currently got seven more tdp rambles in the works, and they’ll be up at some point (expect the next one in the next couple of days probably). They should all be under the tag at the bottom of each of these posts, ‘tdp rambles with bj’, so if at some point you wanna read through all the ones currently there, uh, you can.
I love you all, stay calm and ship sorvus. or whatever ship floats your boat.
Have a gay day! -BJ

I am backk. Didn't really have time these last days but here i am.
As much as I'm interested in the main plot and Aaravos' era incoming, i first need to know what happened in the camp after architect put out the fire.
Honestly such a beautiful funeral? Simple and tranquil.
Rayla u can't come back after two years and act like nothing happened! I mean i know she says how much things changed but she really hurt him.
Our boy is cryingg. Random but we haven't really got an answer on whether she was unbanished? Also I need to see some Ethari. Like now.
I really like that even tho Soren is a comic relief most of the time, they didn't make him dumb.
I kinda don't get why Viren got so desperate to practically beg that creature? Only excuse i can find is his fascination and obsession with magic. Otherwise they just did it for comic relief I'm sure is coming. I just feel it. Building it up and then an anticlimactic 'surprise'.
Yep. There it is. Viren just being tired of their shit is so funny to me. He didn't ask to be brought back. Can't he just go back to being dead in peace?
I really liked Soren-Zubeia bonding moment. So cute?? And she appreciates his wit!
Ahhhh what happened with the elf??? From the camp? The arhitect is hurt okay but. Aaaa. Imagine just. Being him. And believing that your mother's spirit/soul is lost forever. I want answers! Also Amaya-Gren moments are always so wholesome i love them.
Dunno why but it's surprising to see Zubeia as an active figure. I feel like those in power are often shown as these really passive figures. Idk.
Lmaoo I'm loving these guardians/doormen or whatever they are. 'We accept your argument.'
Their guide is really givin me gollum vibes from Hobbit. Viren's exasperation continues.
'Infuriate him and...' 'You'll probably die.'
Love how Soren connects with everyone he spends two minutes with. I have a hunch which may be completely wrong but that this hole is the entrance?
We're back to the camp! Yayyy! Where. Is. The. Elf. That's literally all I'm asking for.
Soren being observant about people's emotions? Yes. Giving advice? I feel sth anticlimatic coming again. His lecturing reminded me of Zuko's silver sandwich.
Aren't they trying to lay low? A campfire? Really?
O.M.G. yes. It's not always just love trouble (even tho it's that also). Another PTSD moment. Honestly when he said 'You know, when he took over my whole body and used me like a puppet,' sounded like he was talking to every screenwriter ever. One of those posts on here or insta or just anywhere ranting about how there are consequences and ptsd after stuff like this.
Wish it lasted longer tho.
I kinda hope this lil dragon adopts Soren. He deserves his own animal companion.(did u notice everyone has one? Like Rayla has that monkey-y thingy which i shamefully forgot the name of, Ezran has Zym and regretfully passed Bait to Callum which not okay you can have two animals and share love equally?)
Oh Soren is captureddd. Myb thrown into the hole/may-be-entrance-hunch-thingy?
Do these drangons have like rattlesnake tail horns/antlers?

Episode 7
-“good try, doggies” she’s so cute
-RAYLAS HUMAN IMPRESSION I CANT
-“snow elf.”
-“I need something more personal than a shirt”
“Underwear?”
HHAHAHHA
-also if Soren or Claudia make any bad choices in the future I’ve decided that it is not their fault in the slightest thank you
-When Rayla said she was gonna ask nicely I didn’t think she was actually gonna ask nicely
-“I’m just a simple human girl who like the human things like bread and complaining all the time!”
“No, you’re an elf!”
“Fine I’m an elf.”
-bruh if that didn’t get it off what the heck will
-ELLIS AND AVA’S BACKSTORY OH MY GOSH
-“There she is! She’s an elf!” BRO WHYD YOU HAVE TO EXPOSE HER LIKE THAT WHATD SHE DO TO YOU
Episode 8
-ELLIS IS BACK
-even if the healer can heal her hand it wouldn’t be any use because the band is still on
-could not be more unrelated but I just remembered that Callum mentioned a jerk face dance in episode 1 or 2 and I can’t even describe how much I NEED to see that
-“How do you plan for indescribable terrors? I feel like you need to be able to describe them first”
-“Flash! Woof! Whoosh! Slish-slash!”
“…is he okay?” “I think he’s finally cracked under the pressure”
-“Callum you may be a dummy but you’re not a fool!”
-don’t worry Callum, I appreciate your weird way of explaining plans
-bruh why does Viren even care about the elf anymore
-if y’all don’t start appreciating Callum’s humor RIGHT NOW-
-Bait you had one job
-I can’t believe they almost got killed by an oversized earthworm
-WHAT WAS IN THE BAG
-why am I getting weird vibes from Ellis all of the sudden is she gonna betray them or something? Like I have a feeling him telling her about the primal stone was a mistake but I can’t put my finger on why
-“knowing you is definitely worth losing a hand for” AWWWWW
-“I’m just a guy who can draw and make wry comments from time to time” yeah that’s why I love you what about it
-how did they just blind a creature with no eyes
-“Get zapped! Hahaha get zapped by the zap hand!” I love him so much
-“I knew whoosh should have been part of 🫡The Plan🫡”
-oh yeah and Ellis I’m sorry I ever doubted you

Episode 9
-boy the heck do you mean you can talk to animals how did we not know this
-like talk talk to them or just communicate cause those are two very different things
-“fitting in is boring anyway”
-so is this a magical ability or is he just really good with animals and he thinks it’s more than that because he’s a kid, like I’m not saying he’s lying but I also don’t blame them for not believing him
-“you might say it’s, the ka-tallest” HAHAHA that was funny idc
-hey for every only child out there who doesn’t know how to write an accurate sibling relationship, just watch Soren and Claudia
-bruh there’s MUMMIES in this universe???
-WAS THE MUMMY THE HEALER IS THE HEALER DEAD
-her hand looks so bad oh my gosh
-THAT FACE SCARED ME YALL KNOW I DONT DO JUMP SCARES
-Callum is me when I lose a spider
-“I’m disgusted, and a little impressed” hahahaha
-I don’t understand this animal thing at all he’s being so ominous about it
-“then you have to do the thing” JERKFACE DANCE????
-JERKFACE DANCE
-“I should have figured it out, they were all illusions” um no actually I think you investigated a little too much
-ok but is she gonna give the collar back tho cause ik we love Ava but she’s gonna have it rough without it
-ik for a fact the egg’s not dead cause the show is literally named after it so stop teasing me with this
-Callum honey great idea but we gotta think these things through
-OH MY GOSH ITS SO CUTE
-DRAGONDRAGONDRAGONDRAGON
Tumblr media
-so he DOES know exactly what they’re saying?? Is there a magical explanation for this or do we just have to except it, I’m good either way I just wanna know
-you have GOT to be kidding me, the indestructible knife can’t cut the band but a dragon nibbles on it a little bit and it snaps?
-Zym has already done something amazing and he was literally just hatched, most useful character on the show rn
-that short gust of wind that blew in Soren’s face right after he said “couldn’t you do this someplace warmer” was personal
-I was gonna ask why no one but the old elf lady was phased by the giant purple beam of light but then I remembered everything they just went through to get up there
-is Viren gonna just look like that from now on I still don’t even know what he did to the elf, put him in a coin?? Does putting someone in a coin make you look like that?? Remind me to never put anyone in a coin

in honor of both the owl house and the dragon prince trailers being released i bring you: the main characters and main villains of each show in each others’ universe
so basically for the owl house characters it’s just going to be which type of magic they have maybe of who i think they resemble in the series and vice versa!
the owl house as the dragon prince:
Luz
is obviously Callum in the sense that they are both the main character, kind of childlike, and want to learn magic when it is said for it to be impossible for humans
ends up learning sky magic like Callum does
Amity
i’m obsessed with the idea of her being Rayla, main character’s enemy turned love interest, badass, parent issues, great hair
obviously moon magic since i just feel like it fits and she has that moon necklace
Willow
i don’t really know who she would be in the dragon prince universe tbh
earth magic bc plants are kind of part of earth. idk if she would be an earthblood elf tho. i know there are other types of earth elves but it hasn’t been said what they are yet
Gus
he’s Ezran all the way bc he’s younger than everyone else and gets underestimated all the time, but is actually more than capable and was forced to grow up sooner than everyone else
obviously he would do moon magic and would specifically be an illusionist
Hunter
Soren!!! both of them are my favorite blond white boys, and very skilled in hand to hand combat, have an abusive father figure (Viren and Belos) that they later got away from
no magic, sword fighter on the king’s guard
Eda
Ethari bc they were the best of their kind (in magic and fighting) and saw a child and immediately adopted it, she could also kinda be Lujanne
i could see Eda doing sky magic with the whole wing transformation thing (like harpy eda form)
King
Zym. hatched without his parents and is going to grow up to essentially be a god but looks so cute rn, and never knew their dads
because of all of that above he would be a sky dragon
Belos
as said above he’s viren. learned magic he wasn’t supposed to and was an abusive father figure that hates the magic people and betrayed his brother (i’m talking about harrow since viren called him a brother)
dark magic
The Collector
aaravos. ok so yeah ik that they are almost completely opposites personality wise but they’re both starry people that used the main villain of the first couple seasons as pawns in their game and were/are trapped in a prison by the cute little guy’s dad
star magic
the dragon prince as the owl house:
Callum
as said above, he’s Luz
he would definitely be so excited to learn magic that he would forget to choose a type and he would be in every track
his palisman would be an owl bc they’re nocturnal birds and it just makes sense
Ezran
gus, as said above
he would be in the beastkeeping track instead of illusions tho since he can actually speak to animals
Bait is his palisman
Rayla
amity
i don’t think any of the tracks really fit rayla for some reason but maybe oracle?
her palisman would be a tiny little dragon
Zym
a titan like King
i don’t think any further explanation is needed
Claudia
hear me out. Kikimora with a bit of Willow. too loyal to the human that shouldn’t know magic, but is also cute and goofy.
she would also start consuming palisman like belos did but idk for what reason yet. maybe she just plays the role kikimora did but is still a human.
Soren
Hunter, as said before
no magic without his palisman, which is a german shepherd
Viren
obviously Belos, down to his appearance being changed from the magic he’s not supposed to be doing and nearly dying from it
consumes palismen to keep himself alive, but turns into a monster
Aaravos
The Collector
too op and is having fun with it
not demon, which or human and is born from the stars

(just putting my whole s4 reaction here. it kind of turned into a live reaction after ep6)
Tdp s4ep2: Viren's no good very bad terrible day
Idk how to feel about the petrichor farts but the trans colored plant was great. a transplant. im not above a trans pun. Viren wheezing, panting, fighting for his life up that mountain is killing me
Ep3: that whole segment with Ezran's speech, the fight between Ibis and Claudia just. ouch. and god Terry. I really love the way they showed him mourn. the music (and Corvus) was beautiful. like is there ANYTHING Corvus can't do btw?? that man is amazing. the brewing danger between elves and humans is painful, but what i was lowkey kind of hoping for. putting aside centuries (maybe longer? cant remember) of prejudice between both sides just doesnt work on the first go. i feel like the way the human's reception of the dragon queen went so bumpy was also a good indication of how things go wrong. a series of misunderstandings cultivating an untrusting atmosphere that blows up when something really bad happens. Ezran acknowledging that humans have been hurt was great.
(i have suspicions that human-elven relations are going to get worse before they get better tho)
ep4: smth about aaravos this season is itching my brain wrong. he opened his mouth and my brain just went "nah we don't like this" checking my forehead like DO U HAVE A FEVER WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU? ITS AARAVOS-
ep5: im with viren on this one. no one deserves a name like sparklepuff. SIR Sparklepuff is at least a bit dignified. it'll be funny if Viren only refers to him as 'Sir'. im so glad Zubeia is the way she is. yes yell and force the doorguards to let you in, queen behavior.
i love soren so much 10000/10 advice tattoo that to my body put it on a billboard. sorenities 4:20 - the heart do what it do, or don't what it don't. precious soren bb never change
srsly jumping in to help a dragon thats probably gonna eat him 💖💖💖💖
ep6:
ok Amaya i love you so much.
LMAO they did all that scheming and forgot Janai is queen and has a mind of her own and can sort of do what she wants.
SOREN GOT A DRAGON YESSSSS. Ooooh shit
ep7:
I love how all the other elves' intros have been so eloquent and philosophical and the earthbloods are so far just like "TRY NOT TO DIE CHALLENGE: YOU WONT BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT"
NO WAY THE YIPYIP IM IN TEARS
BAIT'S REACTION TO THE SUSS CUDDLEMONKEY BEING SUSS IS TAKING ME OUT AKWNRHAKS I WAS MAKING A "oh that's not good" face and then there's BAIT MAKING THE SAME EXPRESSION AMDHFHA poor bait.
(at this point they should just let bait do all the planning)
Soren's got such a big heart.
Zym is type of character to show up at his funeral.
Love how Terry seems to be growing on Viren.
ep8 - 9:
I feel the dragon's love for food in my bones. Yes food is a worthy gift! Food is amazing! I love food! I'm also hungry as I write this
Alright that was some interesting lore dropping about Avizandum.
JUST HAVE 2 CAKES EXCELLENT SAYING I LOVE HERRRRR
"before we were rivals we were friends" hmmmmmmmm? 👀
Yessss return of the sleeping spell. Claudia using music for this is genuinely enchanting. SHE STILL DOES THAT NOSE THING. she's so adorable. She's also kind of an ass. claudia ilu but please let runaan OUT of that fucking coin
AWWWW TERRY TALKING MORALS INTO HER ALWJDHFNSKF. Maybe we'll get Runaan and Rayla's parents back next season
Overall it was great! Amaya's "just have 2 cakes" has to be my favorite part so far.
going back into hibernation for 3 years until s5

H, J, N, T?
lol hey just remembered that i had these from dec 19th lol i think i was just so mentally unwell at the time that i couldn't actually process the fact that i had asks and was capable of answering them even tho i literally reblogged the ask game lol anyways was going through my drafts and saw this and i'm MUCH better now so i went through and found the game and imma do it now <3
h - what is your favorite source text for fandom stuff (e.g., tw shows, movies, books, anime, western animation, etc.)?
answered that one here <3
j - name a fandom you didn’t think about until you saw it all over tumblr. (you don’t have to care about it or follow it; it just has to be something that tumblr made you aware of.)
also answered that one here lol <3
n - name three things you wish you saw more of in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice).
ooooo i'll do atla for you <3 hmmmmmmm okay. 1. more gaang-centric content - like... ones that aren't about any character in particular, but more about all of them as a family. like, rather than a focus character or ship, it's just... it's them and it's platonic and it's just them being silly <3 2. more zuko kicking things <3 look. he likes kicking things in canon. let him kick. dude's got strong leg muscles, he is angry sometimes, let him kick his anger out! break some stuff!!! i think zuko kicking is the most underrated thing about him 3. more of toph (in general-) and her parents. i have SO many hcs about what toph's life was like after the war ended - specifically about her relationship with her family (also katara hates toph's family btw she told me personally). like... the atla fandom LOVES angst but we (myself included) don't explore toph's trauma and familial issues enough. her parents fricking SUCK. wait imma talk about this more in t-
t - do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending?
also answered this one here BUT i am MORE than happy to give another answer <3 okay so to continue about toph- after the war, she realized oh my gosh i could have/almost died and was like. i want to at least make an EFFORT to reconcile with my parents. so, she takes some time and goes back home and... they're made at her. or maybe... no, they aren't even mad. they just don't care. you know that one scene in the dragon prince where claudia says "dad, soren could've died" and viren goes "THAT DOESN'T MATTER"? yeah. that's kind of what i'm getting. and toph tries so hard to repair her family but they're just so broken. her dad tries capitalizing the fact that toph helped end the war and uses it as a flex to increase his own status (not a proud dad talking about his daughter). her mom just pretends toph didn't fight in the war and basically tries gaslighting her into thinking she didn't. her dad sees a way to make money and her mom just doesn't want to deal with the crap her dad is doing or her daughter's earth bending and. and toph just has to deal with and accept the fact that her family doesn't care that she almost died and that they'll never genuinely love her or be proud of her. but... katara comes to visit and when she leaves, she takes toph with her and helps remind her that those two idiots aren't her Real family. her real family is waiting for them at the south pole.

Ok so because callum used dark magic, Aaravos can control him. I’m pretty sure that’s gonna be important. So I was thinking about how they are gonna get around this and that’s when I remembered, the sun forge. Janai’s sister said it would purify the parts of Viren touched by dark magic. It would kill Viren for sure, and honestly probably Claudia at this point too, but what about Callum. He only used it twice so he should be fine. I’m not sure how they would fix the sun forge tho. For sure they’d need the staff but honestly I don’t see Claudia giving that up anytime soon. Maybe they get the sun seed back from the prince of fools and miyana( I think that was her name) or maybe Sol Regim tells them to take the seed back to Janai, let him go back to his brooding, and to piss off. I really hope someone tells them that last thing. They’re both tap dancing on my nerves.

The Dragon Prince
Thoughts #5 (spoilers)
You go, Soren!! Say no to things you're uncomfortable with!
Ezran's “WHAAAAAAT—" when he found about Callum and Rayla was top notch XD
Every time Rayla mentions her parents “running away”, I can't help but wonder what the real story is. After all, it's not like she ran away.
Soren hAS FACIAL HAIR WHAT
Ahhh, here's the problem with dating someone in your party on an adventure quest—any argument you have automatically becomes a lover's quarrel and it's kinda sad and painful to watch
Aha, called it with Rayla's parents!
I swear, if they're trapped in Viren's other gold coins, I'm gonna rampage
Soren's speech tho 😭❤️
Are they gonna go get Solus Prime or whatever that big old dragon's name is? Or just other dragons?
Ah, other dragons
I really hope there's gonna be a way to break the spell on those 10k people
Claaaauuuudiaaaaa noooooooo don't dooooo thaaaat ☹️
Y'all, dragon fire's not gonna work. Like, at all. That was the whole point of—sigh. It's okay, Soren, I still love you, even if you missed mentioning that part
WOOO THE ROCK-YOUR-SOCKS-OFF-QUEEN-KID SAVES THE DAY!!
oh my GOSH the BAKER'S there WITH HIS ROLLING PIN XD XD XD
THEY TOOK THAT SYMBOL VIREN GAVE THEM AS A MARK OF SHAME AND MADE IT INTO THEIR FLAG YESSSSSSS
Faaaaaaamily draaamaaaaaaa
OPE FAMILY DRAMA'S OVER DAAAAAAAANG SOREN :O
....aaaaand of course it's not that simple. Why would it be
and of COURSE he survives the fall. Sorta.
Hmmm, I wonder if Claudia's white streaks come from a specific spell or just huge expenditures of Dark magic
Also just yikes on the creepy bug pal cocooning itself. Nasty thing getting bigger? Just gonna get nastier.
So I'm in love with this series. Mostly. There are a few aspects I'm withholding judgement on until the end, including Callum and Rayla's relationship. I'm going to wait to see how it plays out before I decide if I like them better as a couple or as good friends/found-family-siblings. Also, just to be clear, I love and support LGBTQ+ people, but not the lifestyle.
And I'm really curious to see how Claudia turns out. Her arc is a tricky one—they've done well so far to keep us caring about her even though she's descending a dark path (and has been for a while). Every time she says something about "doing what needs to be done" I cringe and wonder what she and/or Viren was doing when she heard that for the first time. She says it a lot in moments with questionable moral things happening, so whatever it was seems like a pivotal moment in her life.
I hope she turns herself back around because of course I do—I love seeing people break free of abusive/dark cycles, and she's got this inherent kindness that I love, and that kind of story would be awesome and inspiring. But I'm also an author, and I see sooooo much good villain potential in Claudia.
The writers can take either approach and do it well, or either approach and do it poorly. So I'm withholding my final opinion about her arc until it's finished.

The Harrow/Viren relationship for me is most interesting because you can take two people who meant well and still pulled each other down the wrong path, and yet you can also question if there was ever any other path for them to walk? (For sure in this show there is, and it seems like quite a nice path with hardly any thorns along the way, but anyway I’m not writing that so nvm?)
I like a really fricken’ grey Harrow tho, I like that he takes his best friend and wants to do the right thing by him but instead ends up multiplying all his worst traits. I don’t want it to be Viren leading a good man into darkness because he’s a manipulative bastard.
I like the world to give them unsolvable problems with horrible answers and fuck them up again and again and I like them to do these things for each other based off what ought to be the best of emotions, the thing that can save us, love, but of course love can also be the messiest emotion of them all. “I love you and I will die for you” becomes “I love you and I will do some heinous magical spell for you”, “I love you and I will corrupt myself for you” and Harrow will corrupt himself for Viren and Viren will do the same for him.
They are both at fault, or they are neither one at fault, (well cough cough Viren's at fault but nvm..) I don’t know if I particularly want to pass judgement on that. They are just flawed people living in an imperfect world.
I want their love to be messy as fuck, to encompass each other, their wives and children, to bind itself around them into something nasty and twisted and dark but still with this sad shining light that could have been something else, in a different world, at its core.
