Ein Beitrag zum 120. Geburtstag und zum 60. Todestag von Gary Cooper. Er ist nun schon so lange tot, wie er gelebt hat. Das passiert offensichtlich allen mal, bei Jean Harlow ist es schon eine Weile her und bei Olivia de Havilland noch lange hin, wir glauben aber nicht, daß es uns noch jemals bei irgendjemandem auffallen wird, und weisen deshalb darauf hin, obwohl es zugegebenmaßen keine besonders bedeutsame Information ist. Wir nutzten desungeachtet die Gelegenheit, einmal Frank Borzages legendäre und wirklich aufregende Verfilmung von A Farewell to Arms anzuschauen, hier verlässt Gary in einer schönen Umkehrung von Morocco den Krieg für das Mädchen, und es ist alles ausgesucht hochdramatisch und sexy, und deutlich spannender als die spätere Selznick-Schwarte (vergleiche hier), obwohl der Tobi selbstredend wieder ein bisschen über die malerischen Faltenwürfe und die gen Himmel steigenden Friedenstauben am Ende quengeln muss.

“8 song 8 people” tag ✨

Hello, I’ve got this in my mind for months, but could not find the time and energy to post it. Now it is so long time ago I could not find the tag anymore…I was tagged by @the-haunted-pencil back in April I think. Thank you so much. I had a lot on my mind in the last months, in the whole last year, because I worked really hard on my masterthesis, i quit my flat in my studytown and everything is changing right now. I am sorry that it took me so long to react to this and answer all this questions. I thought really hard about the question what song could be about myself. And actually I am still quite shy here on tumblr (on social media in general) and this is my first time ever that I was tagged publicly on tumblr (even if I am here for years), and this made me somehow very happy. So this is still really exciting for me. And I am proud, that I reacted after all this months and posted it...

Music taste is such a personal thing, and it is so interesting to get to know people’s taste in music. So here are my answers:

My favourite song at the moment: (before Christmas)

The Pogues - Fairytale Of New York – I encountered this christmas song this year for the first time and I love it! I never knew this song existed. I am loving all versions of it. The original song from The Pogues, but also the versions by the Broilers and Ronan Keating & Marie Brennan

A song you associate with your favourite ship:

So I didn’t really knew what is meant by „favourite ship“, so I googled and now I know new vocabulary :D (sorry, English is not my mother tongue)

So I would say it is:

Lilac and Gooseberries - Sharm

A song that could be about you:

I think it would be „Nur nach vorne gehen“ by Broilers

A song that is overrated:

I don’t know actually which song I would say is overrated. That’s actually a really subjective point of view. But I think some of the 90s party songs are overrated and of course the „german ballermann mallorca songs“, but maybe they are just terrible in itself. And maybe „Let it go“- from Frozen, I don’t know I don’t get warm with the story and the song.

A song that reminds you of a good memory:

Held in unserer Mitte- Broilers (This was a great moment, at a Broilers Club-Concert, me and my boyfriend where both on shoulders of friends and we met in the middle in front of the stage and held each other on our hands and were growling to the song).

A song that makes you laugh: 

- Chicken Attack - Takeo Ischi

(Actually also a song that reminds me of good memories, it was a song we heard on a festival over and over and over again, too much actually – damn I really miss festivals, the people, the music, the atmosphere)

- Livin on a Prayer - Bon Jovi (That’s also a quite funny festival memory that. So bad since then I can’t listen to this song and stay serious :D)
