#QUICKCAST HOTS FULL#

When checked, that single ability will always default to quick-cast. I would expect to see this implemented as a small check box in the corner of the ability, or just above/below it on the action bar. Something I have always wanted to see in a MOBA is an option to choose to permanently quick-cast spells and abilities on an individual basis. I have a MMO gaming mouse that I use for this kind of game, and being able to bind certain quick-cast abilities to my extra mouse buttons is very helpful. Sure I will probably just bind 'Alt+Q' to quick cast my Q, but if I want to bind it to 'L' or 'NumLock" instead I should be able to! (I wouldn't). Give us that hotkey option for quick casting, and please let us set it to a custom keybind if we want to! What I would like to see even more is a quick-cast system like LoL has, where the spell keybinds and the quick-cast spell keybinds are completely seperate entities.

I think that this "all or nothing" system currently in place cannot reasonably still be present once the game ships out to beta or full release. I know I'm not the only one who does this.Īs it stands I can just turn quick casting on or off based on which hero I am playing, but this is an extremely imperfect solution because many times these contrasting quick-vs-slow casting abilities are both found on a single hero. Additionally it can be extraordinarily helpful to see a spell's maximum range, which I normally do by activating the spell but not casting it. When casting a global ult, for example, the spell flight projection can be really important to visualize in its entirety before firing it, in which case I would want a normal "slow" cast. Some abilities seem like they are built to be used with quick-cast (such as blink/flash abilities, or anything highly spammable), while some abilities (especially AOE abilities) benefit greatly from the normal "slow" casting. That extra latency caused by having to press the key, target, and click, small as it may seem, can make a huge difference. In any MOBA, quick cast is quite literally a matter of life and death in some situations. I've played a dozen or two games of HotS so far and this is honestly my number one gameplay complaint (so far). I played a lot of LoL several years ago, starting back in the open beta, and being able to hold a modifier key for quick-cast was always a critical aspect of the game. Let me preface this by saying yes, I know it's early Alpha still. Is there really no option to use both quick and normal casting interchangeably, or am I missing something? (If I am missing something and there is a hotkey, the first couple paragraphs of this post are irrelevant). I've looked hard and can't find any kind of modifier key that that allows case-by-case quick cast. It seems like quick cast is either always on for every skill/spell, or always off. Greetings r/HeroesOfTheStorm, I've just recently started playing the alpha, and I've come across what is to me a really significant frustration regarding quick-cast.
