I truly advocate for Pilates 💕 it’s low to medium intensity, and works the smaller muscles on the body so you won’t “bulk up” like when you do traditional exercises such as push-ups, or doing heavy weight lifting—which works the larger muscles. Pilates tends to “lean you out” more without bulking, and a lot of workouts can be done either sitting/standing without too much movement. It’s like the perfect medium. You use your own body weight, get a lean/tight body over time, less stress on joints, and you don’t have much of a risk for injury (versus other workouts like HIIT, cardio, or weightlifting). It’s like yoga to me 🧘🏾♀️

I had a day off so I pummeled the living hell out of my heart. First up I went for a punishing bike ride, maxing out repeatedly. It felt incredible. It felt like my heart is supposed to beat like this all the time, like its natural state is high output. I really really tried to push myself here, I swear I could feel the walls of my heart clapping together.
I also went on a run before this but I cut it short cause the audio was meh; also not very fast:

3/15/24 PlyoJam/Strength intervals with stretch at and
I'm still alive, despite not posting. Been feeling very discouraged with lack of weight loss, despite doing everything "correctly". I haven't been walking this week cos of the lack of motivation, but have done MWFS PlyoJam classes. I know I need to get back to walking, but I just bad-moody about it right now.
Oh, my old Fitbit Versa died last Friday, so I got a new Sense 2. Been trying to get all the stuff set up on it the way I like, but overall I like it.

Monday: Strength Capacity 🥵
5 Rounds: 1x Leg Blaster (20 squats, 20 lunges, 20 jumping lunges, 10 jump squats), 6 mixed-grip pull-ups.
15 Rounds: 6x sandbag overhead press, 6x box jumps, 6x burpees
(supposed to be EMOM format but I can’t keep up, now that we’re at 6 reps, so I do my best and work as fast as I can)
This workout left me in an absolute puddle on the floor, but I’m still smiling! Grateful that my body can be pushed to the limit. 💪🏻

My favorite leg day opener: no rest, alternating max resistance sprints and "up" sprints where I drop resistance and hold my body off the seat to spin my legs at top speed while challenging my arms. This constantly switches my heart between huge volume demands and huge pressure spikes, forcing it to adapt to long efforts at max output. This is how you enlarge your heart.
