Over the next few weeks, you and Riddle met up in one of the abandoned Astronomy classrooms to practice your lessons, and the library where you really did attempt to tutor him in Ancient Runes, with little to no luck. He was hopeless at the subject.
You were not friends by any means. You were like oil and water, not willing to step over the line that separated friend from foe. He was infuriating as ever, and he seemed to find your incessant need for asking questions entirely incorrigible. But you'd both come to an understanding: this was a necessary sacrifice for the greater good of your mutual friends. It needed to be done.
Your own friends were starting to question the hours you spent with him and it was becoming increasingly more difficult to lie when Harry spent every spare waking hour, that wasn't spent in school or on the Quidditch pitch, scanning the Marauder's Map.
In this particular session, Riddle had bombarded your thoughts with so much information and strain that you thought you'd pass out from exhaustion at any second.
"You're unfocused." he stated, unamused as he watched your hazed expression.
"You've been hounding me, for hours. I'm tired Riddle. Give me a break." you mumbled, voice low and resentful.
No. It's only been fifteen minutes. Due to your lack of focus, the burning sensation had come back at full force, causing you to stumble into the desk behind you.
He tutted, as he wrapped a strong arm around your waist to support you from injury, knowing Theo would probably maim him if something happened to you. When his hands retreated, his touch left a tingling sensation in its wake.
"Fine. 20 minutes. But the hour's not up yet. We'll carry on afterwards." he sounded as irritated as he looked, which had become a common occurrence in these sessions, not helped by your sarcastic commentary whenever you had the strength to cause an argument with him.
You closed your eyes for what felt like seconds, but it must've been for the duration of your 'break' because he woke you up with a forceful nudge.
"Breaks over. Now block me out like I showed you. We both know you're capable, prove to me that this wasn't a massive waste of time."
The burning sensation was back once again but it was duller than before, more manageable.
Ron saving the most goals he'd ever saved in one singular match.
Trying to teach Riddle a simple Rune pattern.
Hermione running out of the Gryffindor common room, tears streaming down her face.
Lavender Brown snogging your best friend.
You successfully locked your thoughts away, securing the lid of the 'box' with a mental thud, watching as the distinct orb of energy you'd recognised as Riddle's magical core, floated to a standstill in your mind.
"Good." he says, his face impassive. "Again."
He enters your mind with more vigour, but you're prepared this time, focusing your energy on keeping the ball of his magic confined to one area of your mind, to stop him unlocking all your thoughts.
What he didn't know was that you'd been reading up on Occlimency in any spare time you had to yourself, which was slim. You focused all your attention on that bright silver orb in your mind and pushed back with as much strength as you could muster. Startled, Riddle's shields fell momentarily.
You found yourself watching him from an outsider's perspective. You were in his home, the Riddle mannor, which gave off an air of stale coldness. Like death itself had taken up residence there. Then you heard it. The low hissing of a snake, Nagini – the snake that had attacked Arthur Weasley just over a year ago.
You watched as she glided past you, towards the shadow of a figure you were too afraid to face.
"My son." Voldemort says, in a creepy sort of drawl. "Have you done as I requested?"
You watched as Riddle, cold and indifferent as always, sucked in a breath before he stared his father in the face. Wordlessly he let the double doors behind him open, letting Malfoy and Berkshire stumble into the room, eyes flickering nervously.
"Yes father." he sounded resentful. And you caught the glance he shared with his two friends. He looked remorseful and almost...sad.
"And what of Master Nott? Master Zabini?" you saw Riddle's facade fall for only a moment, then watched as his shields slipped as he cradled the back of his head with a barely contained wince. Voldemort was in his head.
"Very interesting, my son." Voldemort hissed, eyes narrowed on the boy, who looked entirely too small under his father's watchful glare. "This must be remedied. Perhaps a little punishment will remind you of your place."
Then you watched as a father cast an unforgivable on his only living heir.
You were forced out of his mind with a push similar to what you had done to him, and when you cast your eyes onto his, you found twin obsidian irises...glaring at you.
"Satisfied?" he snarled, stalking towards you, backing you against the wall of the classroom. "Do you feel accomplished, sweetheart?"
The way his fists clashed with the wall on either side of your head prevented you from interpreting this new nickname. You stared up at him, shock and apprehension painting your features.
His eyes, once a cool, calming brown were like deep, black holes, narrowed on your expression. It scared you, rendered you speechless.
You should be scared, sweetheart. I didn't give you permission to do that. Gods, even the voice in his head was frightening. He was menacing.
He seemed to break out of his staring trance and shook his head slightly, as if this was an outer body experience for him. He looked surprised at being so close to you; you swore his eyes trailed from your own to your lips, but it must've been a nasty trick of the light, to dissuade you from this crazed persona he suddenly harboured.
He sighed as he pushed off the wall and without a word, he left. Once again leaving you standing alone in a dark, empty room.
~∞~
The first Hogsmeade trip of the year is always a fun affair. You remember the very first time you stepped out of the carriage onto the cobblestone streets of the town with Ron and Hermione during your third year. And just like that first time, it was magical every year.
This year seemed extra special. Snow was falling heavily from the bright white sky and the third years were having fun throwing snowballs at each other. You were bundled up in warm clothes: hat, scarf, gloves and giant coat, in hopes of not having your limbs freeze.
"I am begging you," you mumble to the Golden trio, who walked beside you, "can we please go to the Three Broomsticks? I'm in need of a Butterbeer. Or better yet, a hot chocolate. I'm so fucking cold."
Ron only laughed at you while you shivered; they all agreed before he yelped and began hastily running away when he realised his detrimental mistake.
The idiot had dumped a load of snow on your head.
"RONALD!" you scream, but it's drowned out by your own laughter, along with Harry and Hermione's, the latter of which hadn't laughed much recently. "I'll get you for that you wanker!"
Your friends had seldom had time to have a proper laugh this year. Each busy with their own endeavours: Ron with his new girlfriend Lavender; Harry with Slughorn, under Dumbledore's ample instruction and Hermione, who was putting all her effort into avoiding the former and trying to persuade Harry to get rid of his potions book (which had given him a fast track to top of the class). It was a wonder that you'd convinced them to come along.
When you entered the pub, sodden and cold from the barrage of snow that Ron had unleashed on you, the warmth of Madame Rosmerta's heating charms caressed you like a tight hug. Unwrapping your scarf from your shoulders and removing your coat, gloves and hat, you slumped into the cushioned seat of a nearby empty table, not taking into account the surrounding occupants.
Riddle was sat among his friends, watching you. He'd been doing that more since he walked out on you a week ago. He didn't turn up to your next session a few days afterwards, and when he didn't show earlier that day, you walked out of the room, incredibly annoyed. But you weren't about to give him the satisfaction of knowing that he was beginning to affect you.
As you sat side on at the table, with Ron facing his back to them, you saw how, despite his guard being held up extremely well, he huffed a laugh when Enzo said something entirely unfunny and rolled his eyes when Theo said something dramatic. You also saw how his jaw visibly clenched when Pansy was talking about the recent boyfriend who ended up being a complete dick. You wouldn't be surpised to find the boy beaten to a bloody pulp later.
You paid attention to your friends when Harry dropped a steaming cup of hot chocolate in front of you.
"You truly are a life saver, oh Chosen One." you tease as he takes the seat opposite you.
"Piss off." he mumbles, but the smirk on his face tells you that he's not annoyed.
"I feel like we haven't spoke in ages." you say to your friends, who despite all being happy to see you, look like they'd rather be anywhere else. "How's being Captain treating you, Harold?"
As you let your friend mumble on about the stresses of looking after a group of rowdy quidditch players, you can't help the feeling that something terrible was going to happen.
~∞~
An hour or so later, the four of you were wandering down an icy path back up towards the carriages that would take you to the castle, the only other people around were Katie Bell and her friend Leanne, who seemed to be immersed in an argument that you paid little attention to.
Hermione was arguing with Harry about his potions book again when the air around you went eerily still. Then you felt it, this strange feeling. It was magic, you'd recognise the feeling from anywhere, but this was different, it felt entirely too dark.
When the four of you rounded the corner of the lane, that feeling grew inexplicably. Leanne had tried to grab a brown paper package from Katie's grasp but the latter had tugged it back, causing whatever contents inside to fall to the ground. That eery feeling seemed to increase tenfold and you staggered to a holt as Katie Bell was hoisted into the air by an invisible force.
The sight was harrowing. She was six feet in the air by the time you'd raced to where Leanne was panicking. The package appeared to be an antique opal necklace, and it was omitting a deadly magical signature. It was without a doubt, cursed.
Harry went to touch it, but you rapidly grabbed his arm. "Don't. It's been cursed."
He looked at you incredulously but at that moment, poor Katie, who's hair was whipping wildly in her expressionless face, let out a gut renching, terrifying scream.
It seemed that Riddle and his friends rounded the corner at that moment; Theo and Pansy running to stand beside you, faces matching your own. Katie was still screaming when Riddle went to examine the necklace.
"It's been cursed." he mumbled to himself.
"We've already established that, Riddle." you mutter, glaring at him. He ignored you. "We can't deal with this ourselves. We need a teacher."
He seemed to agree with you as he sent Enzo and Zabini running back to the pub in search of someone, anyone. In the meantime, Katie seemed to be losing height and was getting lower to the ground, although she was still writhing uncontrollably. Mattheo, Theo and Ron managed to gently lower her body to the ground and you immediately went to check her over, until she began thrashing and screaming again, knocking away your approaching hand, sending an excruciating sensation up your forearm.
You winced, but only Riddle seemed to notice.
Enzo and Zabini came sprinting up the lane at that moment, Hagrid following hastily behind them.
"Get back!" the gamekeeper yelled, prompting you to all back away from Katie.
Leanne was a mess, sobbing as she tried to explain to Hagrid but he seemed to hear none of it as he stared down at the writhing girl for a moment. Without a word, he scooped her into his arms and began to run back up to the castle with her, carrying her piercing screams with him.
Hermione and Pansy immediately went to Leanne's aid, but you didn't move from your spot on the floor, staring at your arm, that was still burning.
Someone knelt in front of you, and expecting Theo, you looked up, startled to find Riddle, staring at you.
You looked away from him, but he cupped your chin with his fingers to bring your gaze to his.
"Are you alright?" he asked quietly, a curious look on his face, and underlines of worry were there too. But you only had one concern.
"Why could I feel the dark magic in that necklace? And why did she burn me and not any of you?" you asked timidly. You appeared to be shaking, from the adrenaline or the cold, you were none the wiser.
"I'm not sure, but we'll figure it out." he assured, he looked as confused as you felt.
"How?" you snapped. "You haven't shown up for the past week, Riddle."
He sighed as if annoyed before he did something you didn't know he was caple of.
"I'm sorry, okay. You caught me off guard, and I panicked. I'm sorry, sweetheart."
"Did you just apologise to me, Mattheo?" a slow smile began to graze your face.
"Tell anyone and I'll make you regret it." he muttered, but his brown eyes carried mirth as he stared at you.
You were about to reply when you saw Ron in the corner of your eye crounching bu the antique necklace.
"Don't touch it, Ron!" you said, jumping up, bursting the bubble that you and Riddle had created. Your friend startled and moved away from the necklace.
"I've seen it before." Harry mumbled and you watched as Riddle and all his friends tensed, it was a wonder that none of the boys you were with started throwing insults towards eachother. "On display in Borgin and Burkes ages ago. The label said it was cursed, Katie must've touched it."
Theo scoffed, which seemed to remind the trio that the Slytherins were still there.
"Something to say, Nott?" Ron snapped.
"Anyone with a brain can see that it was cursed, Weasley. But you still went to touch it. Thank Salazar for Meadow." Theo rebutted and you had half the mind to stand between the two of them to stop the fight, but you felt lightheaded. You needed to sit down, or maybe sleep for a week.
You grabbed hold of the closest thing for stability: Riddle's stupidly strong arm. He startled but said nothing as he held you up, hands cradling your forearms.
What's wrong? His voice was a soft caress.
I feel like I might pass out. My arm is burning.
Did you touch the necklace?
I think I'd be halfway in the air if I did, Mattheo.
He looks concerned.
I'm taking you to Madame Promfrey. Take the necklace too.
He seems to say something to Theo, who interrupts a sobbing Leanne in favour of levitating the necklace away.
"We'll take this to Madame Pomfrey." he says and at Hermione's troubled look, he reassures her. "Meadow's with us. She'll make sure it gets there Granger."
With that, you're guided away by the Slytherin prince and all his friends, but it all feels like a fever dream.

ominis gaunt x reader (hogwarts legacy)
summary: you really wanna hold ominis' hand. "coincidentally", anne sallow has somehow dragged herself and her brother away from you and ominis during hogsmeade weekend
reader is not hogwarts legacy mc
word count: 2398
beware of spoilers in the comments/tags/reblogs!
Tumblr media
"close your mouth, you're staring again!"
you hmmph, turning to anne sallow who giggles before stuffing her mouth again. you both sit in the great hall, waiting for sebastian and ominis to arrive.
"i wasn't staring," you retort, "i was just relieved that they finally arrived. i thought seb was going to make them late for breakfast again."
the boys finally make their way towards you, sebastian seating himself beside his sister and ominis finding his way by your side. you don't miss the smirk anne gives you behind her goblet when you turn red, blushing profusely. "he very nearly did," ominis sighs, although there was no venom in his voice, "it turns out that it was a good idea to send you both to the great hall early instead of leaving you to starve waiting for him in the common room."
you watch him fiddle with his hands, fingers digging into his palms to massage them. oh, you wonder what his hands must feel like.
"well, i don't hear you complaining," sebastian starts to argue, but stops himself, "actually no, you complained about it all this time, wallowing about making y/n wait."
you almost spit out your drink, but mask it as a cough behind your goblet. the idea of ominis complaining that he doesn't want to make you wait surprises you. you subtly turn your head to look at ominis' face, but like always, you cannot gauge his expression, his face blank.
"anyway," anne inhales, excited to change the subject, "any shops you're excited to go to at hogsmeade?"
it's a hogsmeade weekend, and anne is excited to go to visit shops in the neighbouring village. her brother chatters about going to the owl post to send a letter to his uncle solomon about a book he had forgotten.
ominis, as always, is quiet. he prefers to listen, but ever since getting to know you and the sallow twins, he also does not hesitate to chime in here and there. despite his quiet disposition, you certainly think he's become more engaged with sebastian and anne, now offering his opinions, sassing the sallow boy, and speaking his own mind.
you also started to notice how it's almost the opposite for you.
not that he has started ignoring you, no, not like that. recently, he just seems...reserved. when talking to you, he prefers to speak in a lowered voice, almost whispering. he would nudge you with his shoulder before leaning his face in your direction, asking if you stayed up late to finish your transfiguration homework, or if you dread the next potion class with professor sharp. you also remember how stupid you looked one time when you were certain that ominis gave a little chuckle, before asking, "remember how you gushed about that niffler in our beasts class but the little devil actually emptied sebastian's pockets of all the galleons?" like he was trying to make you laugh. when anne wasn't around, he would find you in the common room, helping you tell stories to other students about seeing merpeople in the water, the two of you smiling when the students would wait there for hours for any sign of merpeople swimming about.
oh, and it certainly didn't help that anne knew of your...infatuation with the gaunt boy.
you're not really certain when anne first noticed. you're not even sure when you first noticed it yourself. but you and anne are best friends, "we're sisters!" she'd say, "i know you like the back of my twin brother's own hand!"
her face was both mischievous and sincere when she told you, "y/n, you fancy ominis!"
-
after finishing up in potions, almost as though ominis can see the frown on your lips, he turns to you, "is something wrong?"
you purse your lips, trying to ignore how your heart flutters as you watch him tilt his head in curiosity, and shake your head, "no, it's just...we don't have enough mongrel fur to brew an edurus potion for next class."
ominis hums as he nods, "that shouldn't be a problem, y/n," he reassures you. he fiddles with his hands habitually, and you almost feel bad for taking advantage of his blindness to look at him like he hung the moon. "we can pick those up at j pippin's potions this weekend."
you thought about asking him to hold your hand before, whenever you four were up to no good, sneaking around the palace. you wonder if he would have let you.
"we really should learn that spell to clean up our potions station," anne sighs, "every time garreth brews something, he blows things up instead."
"and it's always us who end up getting splashed," sebastian bemoans.
-
"well, don't you look charming."
you roll your eyes as you watch anne grinning at you through the mirror.
"i look the same as i always was," you tell her.
"hm-mm," she hums at you unconvincingly, "if you only ominis could see you now, am i right?"
"anne!" you cajole her, turning beet red, "stop saying stuff like that!"
"what?" she raises her hands in defense, "i'm just saying you look beautiful, and if i didn't know any better i'd say you were going on a date!"
you ignore her, as well as the butterflies in your stomach at the thought of being on a hogsmeade date with ominis. you heard about couples who go to hogsmeade for dates, going to honeydukes for sweets, steepley and sons for tea and other confectionaries, and snogging in alleyways. but this is not a hogsmeade date, this is just the four of you going to hogsmeade to buy as many candies as you can afford at honeydukes.
turning to your best friend, you frown, "well, what about you? don't tell me you're going to hogsmeade wearing your night clothes!"
anne blinks at you slowly before she shrugs, "i'm not going to hogsmeade unfortunately."
you double take, turning to her in shock, "what do you mean? you were all excited about going to hogsmeade!" she laughs as you gape at her.
"yes, i was excited about it, but i got detention. remember? the duelling?"
you close your eyes in resignation, flashbacks of what happened a few days ago brought you back to when anne and imelda were rough-housing each other and ended up whisking their wands in the hallway--which was not allowed. duelling was only allowed during classes (and in crossed wands duelling club, which you were certain by now was not as inconspicuous as lucan and sebastian insisted).
-
disappointed by the lack of anne on your trip to hogsmeade, you exit the castle and expected to find the boys hanging out by the fountain. many students are situated there today, enjoying the heat of the sun, while droves are also walking to hogsmeade, and some took the opportunity to play quidditch (you can hear imelda reyes all the way from the quidditch pitch). to your surprise, however, the sallow boy was not there to greet you and complain about anne missing hogsmeade weekend, only--
"ominis?"
you were almost certain he could see you, from the way he stood up from the stone bench even before you finished crossing the lawn to greet him. he is expecting you, you gather, but how does he know that you were walking towards him?
"i didn't wait long, if that's what you're concerned about," he starts, the edges of his lips quirking upwards as he fiddles with his hands again. you look at his hands, then his face, trying to admire it like it was the first time you've seen it.
"and-"
"sebastian had detention," he cuts you off, but not in an unpolite manner. you take the time to admire how carefree, relaxed, and comfortable he looks outside of his uniform, "he got caught trying to sneak into the restricted section again."
your pace was slow and relaxed as you stroll outside the castle grounds. lots of students walk the path going to and from hogsmeade, the sounds of laughter in the air. you try to tell your heart not to do backflips at the absence of ominis' wand in his hand, trusting you enough to guide his way.
"what was he doing there this time?"
"i think he was trying to get back at peeves for locking him in the bathroom the other night."
at the sound of your laugh, ominis smiles.
-
you think of three different times when you were sure you realized how much you cared for ominis.
it could have been in your first year, when you sat next to him in charms and he would lose (let you win) summoner's court every single time even though you know that he was good at it (you saw him play against sebastian and leander and won). when you confronted him about it, there was an almost smirk in his otherwise blank face, "i like that whooping sound you make when you win."
it could have been when he told you and the sallows, whom he now call his friends, about his past, his family, and his resentment towards them and the dark arts. you didn't think any less of him and you don't now, and you don't think you ever will, but the look on his face seemed like the world was lifted off his shoulders. he began to smile more, make jokes, pass you some confectionaries and tea while you wait for your next class.
or it could have been that day in hogsmeade-
-
your hands kept brushing against each other.
you want to blame it on the other students-hogsmeade is too crowded!-making you squeeze through people and making sure that ominis is alright. you didn't want to break off the distance between you two (just to make sure he's alright, of course, nothing else). you two are now walking so close together that you can feel his body heat emanating, and you can smell him up close, and you mutter a quick thanks that he cannot see you because of how red you've become.
ominis let you drag him to j pippin's potions to buy those potions supplies--you tell him you can go there last, but he insists, "it's better to get it out of the way now to leave us free time to visit other shops."
leave us free time to visit other shops. yes, right, you have to focus.
the first time your hand brushed his you recoiled in surprise, hurriedly apologizing. you know that some people value their personal spaces, and it's bad enough that you're almost bumping shoulders with him because of the density of students in the village, you didn't want him to think you are also invading his own bubble.
he chuckles at your apology, but says nothing.
-
you bring him to tomes and scrolls next, and lets you toddle here and there looking for books to read. you didn't tell him what you were looking for anything in particular, so it surprises ominis when you skip over in front of him (he can almost hear the giddiness in your footsteps).
"did you find a book you want?"
grinning, you nod, "yes, finally! i had to order this, had to wait weeks! good thing it arrived just when we came here."
ominis feels the package being softly pushed against his chest, you standing in front of him almost expectantly, "what?"
"it's for you," you swallow, "i couldn't get you anything on your birthday, but here it is. belated happy birthday!"
you hold your breath as you watch him process what you said, afraid that he'll refuse it. it had been a special order that you had to wait weeks to get, hence why his gift is a bit delayed. you watch his face, the beauty marks on his forehead, his mouth opening (you hope it's not a refusal of your gift), and you realize that ominis is gaping. he is shocked.
"for me?" he asks, chuckling in disbelief. he finally raises his hands to hold it, fingers grazing against yours ever so softly, but you don't flinch this time, nor do you apologize.
patiently waiting as he runs his fingers on the cover of the book, you wait until he finishes reading it.
"bestiarum magicum?"
you nod, grinning proudly, "in braille! it's one of my favourite books, and this version goes in-depth with descriptions of the magical creatures," when he says nothing, you continue, "you seem to like it when i read it aloud so i thought..."
ominis clears his throat, feeling it becoming tighter. you ordered a braille version of your favourite book, the one he would ask you to read because you enjoy it so much and he enjoys listening to you. "i...thank you," he whispers, now giving you a shy grin, one that makes you blush, "i look forward to reading it."
-
the third time you realized just how much you cared could have been the time you two finally decide to go to the three broomsticks, hungry and eager to rest your feet. the alley is crowded again, and you try to make sure no one bumps into you or ominis, who now carries the book under his arm.
your fingers graze again.
you jolt, moving your hand out of the way and turn to him to apologize, but his head was turned your way, tilted in that same way he does whenever he's curious, and there is a smile on his face.
before you can open your mouth to apologize, you feel it again.
first, the heat.
then his skin.
his fingers touch yours slowly, as if asking for permission.
if ominis can see you, he would see your eyes wide in shock, surprise, cheeks tinted red.
finally, his fingers tangle with you, and his face turns forward, the smile never leaving his face.
he squeezes your hand gently, like saying "is this okay?"
you squeeze back, and shift closer to him that your shoulders touch. "yes, it's okay."
-
inside the three broomsticks, sirona greets you two. "hello kids, go upstairs, there's people waiting for you, i'll bring the butterbeers right up."
you and ominis are both confused, but his hand doesn't leave yours as you guide him up the stairs.
in one of the tables sat the twins, mischievous and victorious smiles on their faces.

Peter: Or we could go to Hogsmead, grab a butterbeer?
Sirius: Nah, too rainy. As much as I enjoy seeing Moony tipsy, I hate smelling like wet dog.
James: I have a bit of firewhiskey stashed away…
Sirius: You bloody git—I just asked you last week!
James: I was saving it for a special occasion.
Sirius: How dare you, I am a special occasion.
James: Moony needs to blow off some steam. That is a special occasion.
Sirius: *locks eyes with Remus*
Remus: *blushes*
Sirius: Right you are, Prongs.

A date? (PART TWO!!)
Theo kept to his word. After leaving the cafe he took her hand in his once more, intertwining their fingers together. He walked so close to her that their shoulders kept brushing.
"D'you want to go to the bookstore?" Y/N asked innocently, batting her pretty little eyelashes at him in a way she knew always worked on him.
He pursed his lips and acted as though he was annoyed by the prospect of going there, even though he had planned to go there. After all that was the one store she had gone to consistently every time she was at Hogsmeade. "I suppose so." He rolled his eyes with a grin and she shoved him lightly.
Theo tossed their empty cups into a trash can before he held the door open for her and let her in.
Theo watched her face as it morphed into this giddy childlike expression and found himself smiling at it. A thought came to mind, a muggle phrase he had heard once, 'Happy wife, happy life' and he knew they weren't married (yet), but he couldn't help but feel as though that phrase was nothing but the truth.
He followed her around the store, listening intently as she rambled on about each book and the plotlines. He held the books she handed to him and kept track of those she lingered on but didn't pick up.
Theo was not known for his patience, or his ability to stay quite for such a long time without putting in his two cents. This was not the case with Y/N, because when he was with her he found his loud and over busy mind was calm and quite. He liked that nearly as much as he liked the girl herself.
"Are you sure this isn't too much?" She asked, as she stared at the stack of books she hadn't realized had gotten so high. Truth was that she always felt bad about spending Theos money, she never wanted him to think she was only friends with him for his money.
"If you asked I'd buy you the whole store." He said casually as he paid for the books.
She was glad he had his back to her, because if he didn't then he'd see how flustered that 'casual' comment made her. Though she imagined it wouldn't matter, nearly everything Theo said to her made her blush to some extent.
Before she could grab the bag of books herself Theodore did, he then grabbed her hand and without thinking kissed the back of it. Y/N felt as though she looked as red as a tomato right then.
He mumbled something in another language, Italian. Though she could barely hear it and even if she could hear it it's not as if she would have been able to understand.
She'd have to ask him about it later.
Soon the two found themselves walking into The Three Broomsticks. "I'll go get us a seat, you order." Y/N says, leaving no room for argument before she took the heavy bag of books out of Theos hands and going to find a booth.
Thankfully there was a empty booth towards the back, away from any prying eyes. Not that she wanted to keep this day a secret, but she had her what ifs about this day she was nearly certain was a date. What ifs that included Theo denying the day ever happened.
As she waited for the Slytherin boy to return Y/N found herself getting nervous. Pulling her out of her thoughts someone cleared their throat above her.
She turned and found one of the boys she had 'hung out' with in fifth year. It was awkward when I realized it was a date, but we kept talking and I thought I might've been able to like him. But then he ghosted me.
"Oh- Ben! Hi." She said glancing behind him to see Theodore still waiting for their drinks.
"Hey." He smirked, "Long time no see."
"Uh- yeah." She glanced back over at Theo who still had yet to notice what was happening, "What are you doing here?"
"I just saw you over and thought I'd come to say hi." He shrugged and she grew a little irritated, because this guy hadn't come to say 'hi' to her in the past two years.
"Oh well. You've said it." She said, not so subtly.
"Yes I have." He looked her up and down and it was then that she was thankful for having learned social ques, had she been in this interaction a few years ago she would think he really was telling the truth. "Listen, I think we should hang out sometime-"
"Sorry, her schedules full." Theo says from behind Ben and we both turn to him.
"Well I'm sure she can make some room-"
"Nope." Theo says, shoving past the short boy and sliding into the seat next to Y/N. He places their drinks down on the table before wrapping an arm around her, "Is that all? Or is there more we can help you with?"
"Look-"
"I really think you should leave Benjamín." Theo glares, not bothering to hide his aggravated mood.
Ben scoffs before stomping away.
Even with Ben gone Theo kept his arm around her, if she didn't know any better she'd say he actually held her tighter. Despite the mood Ben seemed to put Theo in Y/N couldn't help but be amused and let out a giggle.
His head snapped to hers, their faces closer than they've ever been, "Do you find this amusing?" He raised an unamused brow at her.
"No." She grinned, then leant forward picking up her butterbeer and taking a sip.
"Mhm." He hummed unconvinced and she kept grinning and Theo dropped the moody act, smiling and shaking his head at the pretty girl and drank his own butterbeer.
They slipped into a comfortably silence and Y/N figured now would be a good time to ask him. "So..." She started, keeping her eyes on the foam floating around her drink.
"So." Theo copied, his eyes on the side of her head.
"Are we on a date right now?" She ripped the band-aid off, turning to him and he froze. His eyes widening and his cheeks flushing slightly.
He then grinned, a wide ear to ear grin, flashing me with the deepest dimples I have ever seen. "I was wondering when you'd piece it together."
"I-what?" She spluttered and looked at him confused. She wasn't sure what she had expected his answer to be but it surely wasn't this.
"You heard me." He whispered, leaning in closer. His eyes darted from her lips to her eyes.
Y/N cleared her throat loudly and turned to face her drink once more, Theo laughed and brushed a stay piece of hair behind her ear. "I like you, Y/N." He said in a low voice that made her feel all kinds of things. "Actually, I like you a lot."
She swallowed her dry spit at his words as her face heated so much she might as well be the fucking sun. "I've liked you for a while now, a few years give or take. Personally, I thought I was kind of obvious with it." He spoke into her ear and she huffed.
Turning her head towards him once more their faces were so close their noses rubbed each other. Theo opened his mouth to say something else but she cut him off. "Theo, are you going to kiss me or not?"
He grinned before he grabbed her face and their lips met in a passionate kiss.

George wanted nothing more than to talk to you.
you were on his mind every minute of the day.
from staring at the back of your head in transfiguration, looking at you in the great hall at meals and searching for you in the halls.
he was infatuated with you, and he wanted to be able to talk to you, but when he tried yesterday, it didn't go so well..
you were both in potions, brewing up something George doesn't even remember
-
you were both at the same table, reading from the book, measuring and cutting the ingredients for the potion.
"excuse me? hi, can I borrow that?" he looked up from his book and looked at you, his mouth slightly open
"me?" he muttered nervously
"yeah, I just need to-" you said, holding your hand out as you pointed to the knife
"-yeah here you go" he cut you off, picking the knife up and handing it to you. accidentally cutting your hand as he held it out from the handle
you winced in pain "shit" you whispered
"merlin, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to, I'm really sorry-" he panicked before his potion exploded in his face
he stirred to many times.
he wiped his eyes with his sleeve, his eyes landing on you, your hand closed in a fist to stop the bleeding and Snape beside you, glaring at him
"50 points from Gryffindor" he announced "detention Mister Weasley"
George sighed as Snape walked away. he looked back at you
"I'm really sorry" he repeated himself to you.
"it's fine" he heard you mumbled
-
after that class, George knew he wouldn't be able to talk to you, he'd be too embarrassed and scared that you'd walk away from him, angry or upset at him
he didn't mean to hurt you. he was just shocked and excited to talk to you.
but he didn't want to give up.
-
George was in Hogsmeade, going to buy some sweets and go to the joke shop when he saw you, walking towards the woods.
it was clear as day so he didn't think anything would be in there to hurt you, but he insisted on following you in.
the snow covered the trees and fell onto his sweater, decorating it with little white dots as he followed you.
he watched as you turned around abruptly, hearing something behind you.
he hid behind the massive tree and held him breath, waiting a moment before looking back.
you could hardly see the roofs of the small town anymore, but you didn't go too far in.
he stayed a good distance away from you as you walked, finding a tree and sitting down, leaning against it as you fished a book out of your bag.
he admired you as you started reading it.
he wanted to go to you, but he couldn't. and if he went back, you would probably find him and call him out for stalking you. he didn't want to make a fool out of himself again, but he would hate to be made out as a creep for following you.
but then he remembered what he was able to do and smiled.
-
you smiled as you read your book, it was pretty good so far, and the quiet was nice. you couldn't get it anywhere else.
then you heard a shuffle. you looked up, not expecting anything, it was probably snow falling from a branch.
but there it was. a big ball of brown and white fluff.
it barked at you
you tilted your head. and it tilted it's head back, making you smile.
it barked again, coming closer, it's ears flopping as it trotted its way over to you. you put your book down and held your hand out for it
"well hello there" you beamed as it sniffed your hand before leaning into it
"where's your owner?" you asked, looking around. it barked again, sitting up proudly.
you noticed there wasn't a collar on it's neck
"you're a stray" you frowned
you shifted in your place and patted your lap
"c'mere"
it hurried onto your lap. licking your hand as you held your hand out to pat it's head
you loved dogs. especially fluffy ones. Hermione once got you a book on dogs and you leaned a lot about them.
so you recognised the breed as a newfoundland. and you realised it was a boy
"aren't you a cutie?" you giggled and he snuggled up to your lap.
he barked again. his paw grabbing your hand. you flipped it over and held it out to him, he whimpered, looking at the bandage covering your palm.
he looked up at you, his brown eyes were gentle
"what's wrong buddy?" you furrowed your eyebrows
he looked back to your hand and resting his head in the warmth of your palm.
he was quite small for his breed, so you knew he was a pup. he was still big for a pup but that breeds sizes are really big.
he got up and shook it's body, the snow flying of his fur. making you giggle as he panted.
he sat beside you again and barked
"what do you want buddy?" you asked it
he only barked again. you looked around you and noticed a stick underneath you bag.
"here, go fetch" you picked it up and threw it away.
he ran after it and came back to give it back, the drool coating the stick
you grimaced as you picked it up again and threw it away again.
you stood up as he ran after it again.
he came back and dropped at at your feet, smiling up at you. his tail wagging vigorously
you both played for a while until you realised it was getting dark.
"I gotta go buddy" you said, picking up your bag as looking down at him, you leaned down and pat his head.
"see ya buddy" you smiled before he whimpered
you shivered as you began to walk away, hearing his bark sadly
but you had to get back.
so did he
as you were out of sight, George trotted over to the big tree and hid behind it. putting his clothes back on quickly to avoid the cold.
-
the next week at Hogsmeade you found him again and you played with him the whole time.
you found a liking to the dog, and you wished you could keep him, but you can't keep a stray.
especially with the size he'll go to.
you were sitting by the black lake, looking out at the frozen water when you heard a bark. you looked over and saw buddy. which is what you decided to call him.
"hi buddy" you smiled at him, letting him drop his head to your lap
you pat his head, letting his fur tickle your fingers.
"where do you go when you're without me?" you ask him rhetorically.
"do you have a family? Friends or maybe a mate?" you questioned.
he whimpered, his tail slightly wagging
"I hear ya." you felt kind of silly talking to a dog so casually, but he was like a friend to you
"I mean, there is this one guy" you mentions and his head perked up, it was little things like that that made you believe he was really listening to you
"I tried talking to him a few weeks ago, it didn't go so well though" you sighed, looking at the small scar on your palm.
"he stabbed me, but it's fine, I forgive him, he didn't mean to- I hope" you continued, his tail stopping wagging like he was alert of something
you suddenly remembered you had to help McGonagall with something so you stood up suddenly, grabbing your things
"merlin, McGonagall is gonna be so mad" you cursed to yourself.
you quickly started running up to the castle, leaving him there by the lake, shocked.
you turned to look back to see him a little far behind you, walking behind a tree, you tilted your head and walked closer as you noticed he didn't come out the other side
your mind was probably playing tricks on you, but you wanted to make sure he was ok
when you were about to turn to the other side of the tree you bump into a tall, lanky figure. you back up and look at him weirdly
"where the hell did you come from?" you asked, shaken up by surprise
"i was sitting here, decided it was getting late" he responded quickly, seeming tense
you raised an eyebrow curiously "did you see a dog-"
"-no" he cut you off to reply shortly
you observed his figure carfully.
his hair was messy and his clothes were crinkled lightly sprinkled by brown fur, his pants looking a bit damp from the snow. you met his eyes. his gentle brown eyes.
you furrowed your eyebrows at the familiarity of them before stepping back from him.
he looked nervous and sort of weak. he looked away from you
"you should probably hurry, don't want McGonagall to be mad at you" he said.
"yeah, right, shit" you mumbled, turning away to go and run off before your feet stopped in it's tracks
"wait a minute" you said, turning around only for him to be gone.
you rolled your eyes and rushed up to the castle, deciding to bring it up next time you see him.
-
the next couple weeks you didn't see the dog or George anywhere
until you went to Hogsmeade again. you hadn't visited the town in a few weeks due to studying. so now you can see what new fills the shelves of the sweet shop and what new books there are.
you walked around the town, and sat down by a bench, pulling out a sweet from Honeydukes and re-read the blurb of your new book.
you heard a bark from behind you.
after your last encounter with the dog and George, you had a few suspicions. which is why the book you just bought was about animagi.
you put the book in your bag and looked down at the dog
"well hello there, long time no see" you smiled, patting his head
you got up and starting heading towards to woods, where you first met the dog
"wanna play fetch?" you asked him, making him wag his tail
you picked up a stick and threw it as far as you could.
it came back and looked up at you. his brown eyes begging for you to pick up and throw the stick again
but you didn't. you stood still looking at the dog with a frown on your face
and you decided to reach into your hair and take out the ribbon, taking his paw and wrapping it around his wrist. smiling at him.
"I'll see you next week bud" you said, scratching his ear, making his head lean towards your hand
you got your bag and walked away from him, going back to the castle where you waited for George to come into the common room.
-
he eventually did. he was wearing his Weasley sweater with the letter G knitted on it with brown pants on. but you noticed the bright red ribbon wrapped on his wrist
"that's a nice ribbon" you complimented him suddenly, his body froze as he looked at you
"where'd you get it?" you asked him, your lips turned up to a slight smile
"Ginny" he replied softly
you stood up and raised your eyebrows at him "really?"
he avoided your eyes. he knew you were clueing onto him.
and when he noticed the book on the arm of the couch. the word Animagi on the cover he knew you had caught him
he stood there, silent as you smiled
"how'd you figure it out?" he whispered
"Your eyes" you answered him. he went quiet again, shying away from you
"why didn't you just talk to me, you didn't have to- you know" you chuckled
"I was nervous. you wouldn't've pushed me away this way" he frowned
"you're not registered, are you?" you questioned him lowly
he shook his head
"you know what they'll do to you if people find out, right?" you blinked, worry laced in your tone
"I know. please-"
"-I won't" you cut him off. shaking your head, he let out a sigh and looked at his wrist.
"you should be careful. and am i wrong to assume Fred is one too?" you told him
he only nodded his head
"so do you wanna actually talk, not just throw a stick around and chase it?" you asked "and maybe you could actually take me to Hogsmeade, not just follow me into the woods"
"yeah, yeah that sounds good to me" he nodded vigorously
you smiled
"would you like a sweet?" you looked at the handful of candy from Honeydukes
"sure, gimme a butterscotch, Please"

Hogwarts University WIP. Here we have the Hogwarts Clocktower, The Quidditch Pitch and Hogsmeade Station.
With all my new Harry Potter conversions, and the TS4 castle kit, I decided to go back to my unfinished HP hood and make it a university instead, so when sims age up into teens, they can go to Hogwarts!
