I’m getting to the point in my electronics education where I can start thinking up circuit designs and start testing them out. I had an idea the other day about building an optical tremolo with a true bypass but I wasn’t sure if certain parts of my design would work. Today I started testing my ideas and lo and behold they’re working. My idea is to use stereo jacks as the ins and outs for the tremolo where one side would be the wet signal and the other would be the dry. I could use some sort of switch to toggle between the two. Alternatively, I could forego the switch altogether and use a potentiometer to dial in how much of the effect I want. In this video, I was testing whether the bypass section would actually work so I attached some alligator clips to the solder lugs of the jacks and plugged in a #Springzinger and mini amp to the ins and outs. In theory I was confident it would work but I needed to make sure. Tada! Now I need to finalize the effects side and and figure out the best way to incorporate them together.
