Harry Potter Roleplay Discord Server ✨OPEN NOW✨

I cannot believe it has taken me this long, but hey, I've never put a discord server together before. To anyone who has messaged me requesting an invite, I will be sending links your way very very soon! Make sure to message me requesting a link if you haven't done so already!

To anyone who has not heard about this server before:

This will be a advlit rp server that currently has all canon characters available. There is much more info on the server itself but I've left a brief synopsis of the plot for people to gauge interest here first. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, send me a message to join the server!

Plot summary:

Lord Voldemort has been defeated. The Second Wizarding War is over. The Ministry of Magic has convened and decided that the population of the Wizarding Society of Britain is in danger. For too long before the war, witches and wizards have struggled to bear more magical children, and even fewer witches and wizards are being born to muggles. Hence, the Marriage Law.

The Ministry deems it necessary to ensure the future of the Magical Population by expediting what, in their eyes, would happen anyways. So the law is set forth, all witches and wizards of marriageable age must be paired, one man and one woman, to be married and have at least one child. The Ministry sets forth a timeline all of Britain's Wizarding Population must adhere to and that includes the seventh years at Hogwarts.

Even the returning students of Harry Potter's year, who have been asked to return to the school for a final year so they may receive their final year of magical training and take their NEWT exams.

And so Harry Potter and his friends, and possible enemies, return to Hogwarts, joining the students of the last sixth year, to be come seventh years once more, except this time they're all engaged.

Dramione Roleplay Hunt (January 2024)

I have to say I have never really used tumblr - It wasn't something I really knew how to navigate other than to look up inspiration and prompts but I was an avid Omegle Roleplayer and I have found that without that platform I feeling lost without some fandom fun!

So, I’m searching for roleplay partners on here. I will be upfront and say that I work full time Monday-Friday and I do have ADHD which means I can go through intense periods of high involvement and then lose interest for a while but that doesn't mean I have completely abandoned a roleplay! In fact, I am hoping to find someone who would be interested in building a world for a long term roleplay. I’ve never done one of these posts before (as a I say super new to Tumblr) but if you continued reading and find any of what I say to be of interest to you please like or send me a message?

For my preferences, I am 23 so I definitely will not write with anyone under 18 (though I prefer 21+). I have roleplayed on discord before so I am familiar with that set up but I am open to wear people would like to continue.

I am fine with NSFW and dark themes as long as everything is discussed beforehand. I always have my own plot ideas but love it when my partner is into planning things out too and it willing to take risks within the roleplay. I don't necessarily always like to lead a roleplay and like to be surprised with different things.

I am particularly interested in roleplaying some Dramione right now and thought I would drop below some story ideas I have but if you have anything you'd like to roleplay let me know!

Soulmates - Some kind of soulmates AU. It could be something angsty like it manifests during Hermiones torture session or that their names or words appear on each others skin. I am down for discussion or specifics.

Head Boy/Head Girl - Something kind of smutty or secretive them sneaking around at hogwarts etc, maybe as "Punshment" for each other after the war.

Double Agent Draco - I imagine this as an extended war AU with Draco as a double agent and Hermione as his handler. Either that or she believes he left her to join Voldemort and angst ensues when she realises she was lied to (maybe by Harry and Ron).

Secret Child - I have this scenario in my head that the war is dragging on and Hermione and Draco have a secret relationship and a child, I have one particular scene in mine where I imagine that Hermione and the child are captured and Draco comes in and basically reveals himself to be a double agent to save them because that his kid.

Ron Cheating - I am down for a plot that evolves around the idea of Ron cheating, in however we want that to play out.

These are just ones that jump to mind but I am also down for AU's and anything you might want to try just let me know!

People say that Merula is JC's favorite, when in reality, they probably don't like her at all. Like, if a character you're writing is your favorite, you would do everything you can to give them a great arc, not using her as the villian for everything.

I completely agree with you. Jam City doesn't love Merula, she uses her.

One thing they succeeded, they created an emblematic character. Merula draws attention and that's why she has so much focus on the script. A lot of people love Merula, a lot of people hate her too, but everyone comes up to talk about her, whether it's well or badly. Jam City loves all the attention Merula gets, so they use her. And the game keeps moving.

You and I, like many here, have already seen that many things could be done for Merula's development to be good. They insert the fear that the character feels, the duality of good and evil, the mysteries that she is involved in, the regret that the character feels for the things she has done, but all in a very superficial way. That's the hallmark of Jam City, they throw out good ideas but don't work on them.

They leave Merula forever on the fence so they can use her as a villain in SQ. And that makes it obvious that many people end up hating Merula unnecessarily.

This game that became a Side Quests game and they always use Merula and Ismelda as villains, as if there weren't other characters to explore, other narratives. And the justification of the early years for me is not an excuse.

That's why sometimes Merula's presence is exhausting and people end up mistaking it as Jam City's favoritism for her. It's not about being a favourite, it's about being an easy-to-use and attention-grabbing instrument!

If Merula had a good development, it would probably be less hated. That's it, who loves, cares, it's not Jam City's case.

Just to finish,

SPOILER OF DATAMINE FUTURE CHAPTERS

I think this redemption they made for her was horrible. Very superficial the way she breaks the vow, it is simply "oh I like Khanna Circle, Khanna Circle is my family" in a poorly crafted way, as Merula somehow betrayed the Circle, even if it was for a plausible reason. Okay, Merula has been helping the Circle, but she also put people in the Circle at risk to save her life and that's why she's suffering, crying. But how did she make that decision? How did she go from seeing herself as a Snyde to taking on a new family? This would need to be better written. It could be deep and dramatic. And I don't think it would be impossible, even with the limits of the chapter text. Jam City has done this before with Merula.

It's another reason why many hate her. Jam City raises redemption but doesn't work redemption 🤡 it's pretty hard.
