I have this headcanon where the Hufflepuffs look at all the food on the other houses table's to see if there is something tastier. They are friends with everyone and steal food from everyone. But if someone steals a single peice of cereal from Hufflepuff table, hexes and curses alike are fired from every Hufflepuff who saw it happen. Multiple Gryffindors per year find themselves in the Hospital wing each year with a slight fear of angry Hufflepuffs.
