Playing 2-player stardew again with my gf. My gf bought an apricot tree and planted it. Idk if she didn't tell me where or if I just wasn't paying attention or what, but I didn't know this. The next day, the game said the tree wasn't growing. I was confused. Gf ran off to care for the tree. I did some tasks and then went to check on the chickens. Gf didn't have the tool she needed or something, so she ran to get it. But in her absence, I spotted a baby tree growing near the coop. And for some reason, trees on my far, especially baby ones, fill me with an unusual and uncontrollable rage, so I chopped it and went back up to make mayo, passing my gf along the way.

Gf: did...did you chop a baby tree that was right here?

Me: yeah?

Gf: ...that was our apricot tree.

We both ended up dying laughing over it and now she's put fences between me and trees she wants to keep because, according to her, I'm an awful little deforestation gremlin.

I wonder if there are other people out there who have a particular performer that they get thrown really off guard every time they discover them in something new because that person is just ingrained in their heads so much as that one character from that one thing

For me it’s Graham McTavish because I cannot divorce him from his role in Outlander and learning he’s the voice of Dracula in Castlevania really threw me

And then I learned he voiced Eamon in DAO which really threw me

And the reason it gets me almost every time is because he says a line in Outlander that’s become a huge inside joke between my best friend and me which goes, “ Well, I must admit the idea of grinding your corn does tickle me, but it's not myself I'd be nominating for the position.”

So every time I see him I automatically think, “THE CORN GRINDER GUY???”
