i don't want to start anything so you can ignore of you want but to that last anon book louis has always been positioned as "the woman" "the bitch role" (as rat piss called him) why now that he's played by a black man is his "womanhood" (lmao) questioned. good old fashioned misogynoir if you ask me. and louis wants to give birth, that didn't come out of nowhere. also anne rice was a racist white woman from the confederate south who wrote gay subtext of course she would put a gendered dynamic on a relationship with two men. and lastly women can be misogynistic, again, look at anne rice.
scream did brad pitt really say that

8, 17, 21 & 22 for the iwtv ask thingy! 🤍
8. Who's your favorite actor?
jacob anderson. come on now. they're all great but he is ethereal. second place assad zaman
17. Have you read or watched anything because it was referenced in the show?
oh just a few things
love's coming of age by edward carpenter
chéri by colette
nausea by jean-paul sartre (louis was reading this in ep6 when lestat and claudia are playing chess while talking about nicki. you can't see the full cover but i went detective mode and figured it out)
madame bovary by gustave flaubert
a moveable feast by ernest hemingway (s2 first look "esurient hearts beating as one, the rumbling beast of the moveable feast")
iolanta (tchaikovsky opera)
don pasquale (donizetti opera)
pelléas et mélisande (debussy opera)
a doll's house (henrik ibsen play)
a streetcar named desire (tennessee williams play) + the movie with marlon brando
i didnt read the full text but i did hunt down and read parts of "de masticatione mortuorum, the chewing dead" that claudia mentions, full title "dissertatio historico-philosophica de masticatione mortuorum" by philip rohr (1679) (view the original manuscript here + english translation here)
i havent finished all of emily dickinson's poems yet but im getting there! (some of these i had read before ofc but im reading them all in order now)
ive also previously watched nosferatu (and rewatched it for iwtv) and the trimph of the will (NOT rewatching 💀 that was for a film history class) and ive read dante's inferno which louis mentions ("if i was to join dante's wood of the self-murdered...") and i highly recommend it!!! absolute fav
there's also stuff that wasn't directly referenced in the show but the fandom has drawn parallels to, that i've read and watched for that reason.
anne carson's an oresteia (to better understand all the agamemnon iphigenia clytemnestra electra comparisons people make)
giovanni's room by james baldwin
rebecca (1940 film)
theres def more movies but i cant remember lol
and theres some nonfiction books i've yet to finish bc im slow at nonfiction
the vampire: a casebook by alan dundes (cited by writers as s2 inspo! about irl vampire folklore)
black new orleans 1860-1880 by john w. blassingame for historical context
the theatre of fear and horror by mel gordon, on the grand guignol aka the inspiration for theatre des vampires (i did finish this one except for the summaries of all the plays, i decided to skip that there's so many. very engaging read and gives a lot of insight into the some of the bts stuff we've seen about the theatre)
louis's favorite movies from the tale of the the body thief!
la belle et la bête (1946)
the company of wolves (1984)
the dead (1987)
i may be forgetting some stuff. there's also so much more on my list that i mean to get to. a prayer for owen meany by john irving, of "memory is a monster" quote fame is locked and loaded for example
if anyone's interested to hear my thoughts on any of these feel free to ask i would love to talk about it!!!
all this and i've still only read the first 6 of the actual vampire chronicles. and im still procrastinating starting merrick
21. What was your favorite monologue of season one?
HMM the obvious one is louis's confession. ive watched the whole sequence from the funeral to the end of the episode a truly unhealthy number of times. also claudia's coffin monologue
22. Who's your favorite character? Why?
LOUIS. probably because i relate to him so much. instant connection. tricked into loving myself. also like hes literally louis how could i not love him do i need to even explain this
when i started reading the books i didnt care for book louis that much lol but i did become an armand stan. possibly bc i also relate to him im selfish like that i guess. also just his whole backstory and the way it informs everything he does is so fascinating to me. ppl say hes incomprehensible and hes literally not. everything he does makes sense when you consider his life experiences

by @lallemanlucas and I ❤
Sofiane's message : Sorry i just saw your request! i was a bit busy this week-end... :)
E : Hi!
I : Okay, so after your second last year in secondary school, you end up in second year again? I don't think you're going to the right direction.
E : Oh you think?
I : Or you are really bad at maths.
E: Oh Sofiane is home?
I : Yeah, he didnt tell you?
E : No, but well, it's normal, given what happened...
I : What, it's none of his business, he wasn't even there.
E : No but the others must have told him.
I : Yeah?
E : I think.
L : Told what?
E : You dont want to know.
L : Yeah, i definitely want to know.
I : He just showed me a video of you sleeping, and dude its crazy to snore like this, you sound like a combine harvester.
L : You're serious? You filmed this?
E : What, it's cute!
L : No! It's creepy.
E : Wait, La princesse de Clèves, Madame Bovary, Antigone. Not your thing, uh.
L : Yeah, french is so annoying.
E : No, girls. Come on, I have to go. See you at your place? I love you. Kisses Imane!
I : Bye! It's too cute!
L : Fuck, I didn't know you two were talking.
I : And?
L : Eh, I don't know, it's nice that he's integrated.
I : Well yeah.
L : Who are these two dudes?
I : So, what did you do this weekend? Apart from snoring?
L : Who is it?
I : My brother. Do you have any news from Manon?
L : No but they're two. The other one. Who is it?
I : Why don't you want to answer my question?
L : Why do you answer all of my questions by questions?
I : And why are you annoying?
A : Hello bitches
I : You're good?
A : I'm good and you?
Teacher : Hello everyone, take your books, we're starting again page 47.

I want to know all, but I decided to ask you for 1, 2 and 3! Have a nice day 😋
Thank you :) but i already answered some of those, if you scroll through my blog you can see them 2. Least favorite movie Ezra starred in? Madame Bovary/Afterschool. they were boring and slow. Madame Bovary is the only movie where I didnt like ezra's acting in it. It was a visually interesting movie, but otherwise that movie was subpar

@francetrash thanks for tagging me again asadkjdf :D
before i answer i wanted to say: i havent met ur werewolf rottweiler but i also love her already. also my bad! i shouldve specified that i didnt mean dancing in front of people!!! any dancing u like!! for example i like hiphop and salsa
ok enough rambling time for more oversharing
🗼 is there a person you have a very conflicted relationship with?
i would have to say.... my current dorm manager?? ive had her for two years, and i always try to be on her good side but also i keep asking her stuff (like “give me an apartment with working electricity” or “my roommates are demons”), and sometimes she tries to help but mostly she’s very impatient. im moving to a new dorm this year though *throws confetti*
🗼 the quality you value most highly in others?
kindness. its really important to me and like if i look back on any of my past crushes, all of them struck me as being especially kind.
🗼 a habit you wish you could kick?
stress eating. bored eating. sad eating.
🗼 a habit you wish you could keep?
my hyperfocus but it’s not always there and like i could use some more of it
🗼 something you’d tell your past self?
perfect grades arent everything. seriously
🗼 fave book? (i have to ask, it says so much about a person!)
jane eyre because jane eyre was like the strongest female heroine that i have encountred and like crazy men aside, its a great book
maurice because like. a man comes to terms with being gay and ends up way happier because of it, also happy ending involves bisexual man. this book is far from perfect but it’s written in 1913 and its. great.
ari and dante is also really great. i havent read madame bovary yet but so many people tell me its amazing
🗼 if you had to pick an era/place to live in? (this can be romantacized/aesthetic based, otherwise this question would be no fun because the world has always been lowkey terrible)
your point is really valid but i would either choose the 1920′s, or the victorian era
🗼 if you could pick a language to speak without studying?
all of them. but i guess i would choose japanese because it’s really hard and im lazy.
🗼 what would you be doing with your life if you didn’t have to be practical?
is couch potato a valid answer? i would like to know many languages and become a translator and an interpreter (esp for asl).
🗼 guilty pleasure?
my guilty pleasure is having bi pride colors in all sort of places and saying “i just like the color palette!!” if anyone asks
🗼 favourite hobby?
i love reading ok
