It's so sad how misguided Jay's first wish in Skybound was. He's so insecure about his identity and thinks that he has to completely change who he is in order for Nya to like him. He was sure something must be wrong with him and that was the reason she rejected him, and was so desperate to change that that he risked making a wish that set the whole season in motion. He didn't think for even a second that she may have had other reasons. His head immediately went to himself being the problem. Because he's just Jay - the funny guy with extreme self esteem issues.

It breaks my heart for him, but also how dare this children's show be so relatable to me as a fully grown person.
