Batman/Bruce loves him so much I can’t get over the innate tragedy and love of this relationship like you know what??? #you know what’s ungodly good and fucked up???? that tragedy permeates every inch of Bruce and Harvey’s relationship more deeply than any #other element possibly could but one and the one thread thicker in the relationship’s entire being is love #it’s a tragedy it’s tragic but it is never /quite/ as fucked up and tragic and it is deeply deeply kind and sweet and full of love and the #kind of hope that only exists at all because of it. the way Bruce in BtAS immediately starts reading books on the disorder before he even #sees him again? the letting himself almsot get shot to get through? Telltale finishing his bloody fight in the ruined front hall of his own #home by telling him ‘I still believe in Harvey Dent’. ?? The way movie The Long Halloween Bats doesn’t even know Harvey /super/ well by most #human standards but Bruce has literally no friends and never had except Alfred and Gordon so to him this is one of his closest friends and #that’s not a joke it’s real? when he spends the entire last third of part 2 desperately trying to help and telling everyone Harvey’s his #friend and needs help?? it’s real. when he tells Gilda ‘he was my friend and I failed him’? when he compromises his code in a massive way #for the first time and let’s someone get away with murders so Harvey can retain the one little piece of anything he still has which is #having protected the perosn he loves? it’s real. he means it. that’s his best friend. #they’re so *makes incomprehensible upset hand gestures*

#she’s only like 8 i think there’s still a ways to go #and thank god for that because i hardly ever see her rn so i still need time to build it up #idek how much of a reader she is at this stage but her parents read so i imagine she’s gonna be a reader too #she’s not an ipad baby like her cousins i have high hopes for her #basically the backstory is that her dad (guy who married my older first cousin when i was 10. he’s basically been around forever tho) #he used to make fun of me for my ya fantasy books (jokingly he was never actually Mean) and when they had a daughter i realized there was a #perfect way to enact some hilarious revenge… #his kids love me i could maybe even pull it off twice with their son #but that’s maybe bordering on evil so i won’t plan that far in advance #he’s five he might not remember he loves me by the next time i see him anyway #the daughter though is at an age where she does remember me and we’re buddies. but she’s too young to read ya fantasy still #anyway. that’s something i’ve got going on. in the works #oh if i ever mentioned the two 5 year old cousins who’s nails i painted at my family reunion last summer. that kid was one of them #just to tie the narrative together for you <3

I was wondering how the SAG-AFTRA strike might affect audiobook production, and it turns out that union performers are still allowed to narrate union-covered audiobooks during the strike (link), although I’m not sure exactly why. I’d definitely support audiobook narrators striking, although I know that publishers would 100% use it to push AI narration, which is already an issue.

add “friday night parties” to the list of things I am NOT gonna miss about living in a dorm… I mean noisy neighbors were already on there but this specifically bothers me on so many levels

#see normally I’d just put on my noise cancelling headphones and it’d be whatever but #I am so determined not to fuck up my piercing #and I really don’t wanna tell them to shut up bc it sounds like they’re having fun and I’m in an especially too nice for my own good mood #and! I do genuinely earnestly want them to have fun. I am NOT a hater!! just bc I never got to do any sort of partying and never really #wanted to anyway doesn’t mean I’m gonna project that onto anyone else #but on the other hand friday nights specifically are sacred to me #as the first night of the weekend where I get to sleep in and the first night I don’t have to worry about assignments due the next morning #and also as a kind of religious thing #I don’t really observe shabbat anymore but I never was able to get used to the friday night = party time association #and I don’t particularly want to!! friday nights are for chillin and I like it that way. #anyway all this to say I am trying to enjoy my chill evening and there is NOISE and I’m not gonna do anything about it (at least #until Official Quiet Hours start) but I absolutely will complain #I convinced my mom to get a library card and give me the number so I can read books on libby #(would have gotten one myself but idk if I qualify for one at the library near my school and I’ll be gone in a few months anyway) #and now I am TRYING to read lockwood & co book 1 #(yes it is technically a middle grade series. yes I am twenty two years old. if the show is anything to go by it’s a more accurate #portrayal of teenagers than any media I consumed as an actual teen. let me live) #but alas. Apparently it's time to feel nostalgic towards some of my more obscure childhood book series which never got fully translated (so I haven't been able to get my hands on the rest either)

#childhood being a relative term #I mean I was in high school when I read the first two books of the fairyland series #but also it's been ~15 years since ingo ended... #the thing about that that sends me on a loop is that I remember having to actually wait for the fourth book #and that I had grown up enough in between that while I might have hoped for Sapphire and Faro to get romantically together in the beginning #by the fourth book I was dreading it and was so happy that it never went there #and like #the third book was translated in 2008 and the fourth in 2009 #so at MOST I waited ~a year #BUT I also still have the purchase receipts for my own copies and I simply cannot remember if I read them from the library first #(the receipts are barely legible at this point) #and if I didn't then I began the series only in the january of 2009 #only four months before I purchased the fourth book (which I do remember having gotten right away as it came out) #man time worked in such a different way as a child #musings

Very weird whenever I’m browsing bookstores and see The Coldest Touch bc in the later phases of when I was going around submitting my books to agents a few of them were like “I’ve seen this premise :/” and I was like “where??? Am I that out of the YA loop?” to myself and now I’m like “oh. maybe there.”

Wild how people will blame you for having a fraction of the same idea someone else had at the same time they did and expect you to know that an unpublished idea exists somewhere.

i'm watching a french movie from 1951 i just opened the wikipedia page it says it's one of the first french movies to openly depict lesbian characters i didn't even know when i picked it
