Ted and Roy’s relationship is soooo underrated. Ted looked at Roy the very first day and said THAT is the guy, I need to win him over. He took no shit and didn’t patronise him, and helped him pull himself out of the dark hole of depression he’d pulled himself in.

I’m always thinking about that one Brett interview where he said that if you asked someone like Roy what he’d do after football, he’d say, play until he no longer can and kill himself. THAT was Roy’s mental state when Ted arrived.  He literally gave him a purpose — not like he handed it to him, but like he helped Roy see who he could be and where he wanted to be. If Ted is Mary Poppins, Roy is Mr Banks; when Ted leaves Richmond behind, he leaves it in Roy’s care. It’s a legacy. 

Ted left such a mark on Roy and quite possibly saved his life. I think we should talk more about this.

I don’t understand why Kishimoto never added Kakashi having thoughts about Gai when he died in the pain assault. It’s like he doesn’t want his relationship with Gai to have depth but then adds all these interactions and feelings that show how much he means to Kakashi.

He thinks of his dead friends and family, he thinks of Konoha 11, but he doesn’t think about his longest and biggest support? Not even a passing thought?

Might Gai is Kakashi’s best friend and rival, he isn’t a nuisance to him and he doesn’t think he’s less than him. Their relationship has substance and evidence to show how much they care about one another, im sick of Kishimoto and his constant need to diminish it then prop it up and then diminish it again. How can he be so inconsistent with relationships and character writing??

Wei Wuxian’s relationship with Jin Ling is one of my favorite parts of MDZS.

Yeah Jin Ling is reasonably wary, reasonably angry, after all he’s been told time and time again that Wei Wuxian murdered both of his parents in cold blood. But then time passes and the picture that people drew of Wei Wuxian doesn’t quite match up with the real thing.

Here we have a kid who is positively aching for affection, who was raised to be standoffish and even cruel to those around him if it meant getting further ahead, who has no friends but a dog, and yet, we see how much he changes, all for the better, simply by having Wei Wuxian come into his life.

Then Wei Wuxian saves Jin Ling again and again and again. Then Wei Wuxian makes sure to teach him, and listen to him. Then Wei Wuxian speaks to him with unmistakable affection, freely given.

Jin Ling still has his thorns, in the end, but he can’t help but drift to Wei Wuxian’s side, and Wei Wuxian in turn will always keep his arms open, happy to have Jin Ling in his life as more than just a remnant of his beloved shijie’s memory.

Like I cannot imagine a world where one side of 4halo proposing to the other would have any effect other than sickening q!Forever and scaring q!BBH. Maybe I’m wrong but like those two are never getting married. Even if they’re mutually crushing on each other, sure whatever, they’re still never getting married. And that’s good. I was just reading an Ace Attorney fanfic with a really cool idea and it takes place when Miles, Phoenix and Larry are children and there’s this whole fucking thing where Miles is only friends with Larry because Phoenix is friends with Larry and it makes me sooo uncomfortable!

Miles vehemently keeps saying that Larry isn’t his friend and that he doesn’t like Larry at all and Larry is like, super sad about it and like Larry knows about it and so they only hang out with each other to protect Phoenix or whatever.

And Ik people have the right to write whatever they want and stuff but like. Damn. That’s not? Larry at all? Like ugh, Larry wasn’t even that bad in the story why can’t we just have really good friendship moments with those guys?
