Love and the INFJ

Part 1: how to love an INFJ

Quality time: nothing tells an INFJ I love you like taking time out of your day to be around them. Most INFJs primary love language is quality time because they understand how precious time can be and how you use it. So if you spend your precious time on us we know we are someone special in your heart.

Conversations: INFJs love getting to know people. Most of the time we spend observing the people we love to get to know them better. But nothing interest us in getting to know a person than letting us into your mind and heart. We want to hear about your passions, we want to hear about your irrational fears and how they started. Let us know your crazy ideas. Open up to us because we know how doing so can make you vulnerable and there’s nothing more than an INFJ would want than a sincere heart to heart talk. If you open up most likely we’ll open up too. I read once that INFJs are open books but we need someone who is willing to turn the pages and I thought it really does resonate with our type.

Understanding: this one goes hand in hand with the conversation one because INFJs when listening to others rely on their Fe function to empathize with the speaker along with their other functions that help make conversations of what’s being said and how it’s being said. We try to understand where the person is coming from. Try to understand why they think the way they think and feel the way that they feel. But we also desire this in return. We appreciate it when someone lends a non judging ear and tries to understand the things we express. Even though there will be times you might not be able to we still appreciate the attempt. If you do this I’m sure your INFJ will continue coming back to you for a good talk; you’ll become someone special in their heart.

Support: INFJs dream big. Most want to chase after their dreams and be part of something in this world. And as dreamers INFJs encounter a lot of wing clippers all throughout their life. And I get it sometimes we can be a little unrealistic with some of them. But we do have a Ti and an Ni that we rely on that will help us to determine if what we finally set our heart on will be the right thing for us so all we need in that moment is all the support from our loved ones. Someone to believe in us and that we can achieve what we set out to do. Those who support an INFJ’s dream are worth gold to this type and we will be quick to return the love and support you on your dreams and work hard to see you get there.

Evil

I think some really evil thoughts sometimes. I think of ways to hurt someone and about how I would take pleasure from their pain, from their hurt. The trigger is: they have to have hurt me, really hurt me. I don't think these thoughts about just anyone.

I very rarely act on my thoughts but the temptation is huge. It's so easy to think about how to inflict pain, to plot and to plan. It's like exercise for the brain. But it's wrong.

I abide by the vast majority of laws. I am loving and caring and I want to live my life as a good person.

That's why I don't act. That's why I resist. Lead me not into temptation but deliver me from evil.

I'm weird.
