Quote
Inner experience … is not easily accessible and, viewed from the outside by intelligence, it would even be necessary to see in it a sum of distinct operations, some intellectual, others aesthetic, yet others moral. … It is only from within, lived to the point of terror, that it appears to unify that which discursive thought must separate.
Georges Bataille, Inner Experience

“A patient is always surprised when he is told something that unconsciously he already knows. This follows from our designation of surprise as the reaction to the fulfillment of an unconscious expectation. He will take in what was formerly known to him and has only been alienated, as if it were something new, and will repel it. We may now understand the effect, which often does not appear until later, of such a surprising communication, if we recognize it as a kind of psychical shock that it takes time to master.
We shall not be put off by the fact that the patient experiences these surprises within his ego, although he thinks that he is well acquainted with his own inner life. It will seem strange to us that the analyst, too, who has such wide experience, is largely dependent upon receiving such knowledge from unknown powers of the ego, and upon listening for the stirrings within him in tracking the hidden meaning of psychical phenomena. Where the analyst's idea penetrates to the profoundest depths of the other's inner life, it may be recognized as the offspring of what is repressed in the analyst and appears to him as something alien. In short, to sum up the matter: The most vital knowledge obtained by the analyst of the unconscious-repressed is, for him too, a surprise. It is true that this surprise reaction will lose intensity as the analyst gains insight and deeper psychological knowledge. There may come a time when it does not appear at all. But at least in the early years of an analyst's work it remains as a sure signal that his own unconscious is involved in the recognition of unconscious relations. It is not logical reflection and theoretical learning that constitute the core of the preconscious and unconscious knowledge, so helpful to the psychologist in later years in recognizing repressed processes, but the memory-traces of the surprise he has experienced. If, in our analyses of mental effects, we can so often infer hidden, unconscious motives, the inference is of value, not so much as a logical operation but rather as the outcome of repeated insight into the mind that surprised the analyst at first.
We mistrust psychologists who declare that they experience no such surprises, that the unconscious of those whom they study is immediately transparent to them and easy to penetrate. There may be psychoanalysts of such a nature. They are, so to speak, professional experts in the depths of the human soul. The netherworld is their oyster. The psychologist "who is surprised" then stands consciously opposed to those for whom there are no surprises left in the inner life. If these gentlemen boast that they find it easy "to read the other person," that the unconscious lies before them like an open book, then they do not know how to read it. The wonders of the inner reality are hidden from their sight. I know that there are many psychoanalysts who shrink from what is astonishing and set up a defense against what is sur prising in the psychological field, and try to protect themselves against it. They put up a barrier of theoretical learning, to parry and intercept it. But the best of our profession, the most valuable of our art and craft, have learned to appreciate the heuristic value of surprising ideas emerging from the unconscious, and gladly welcome them. (You shall be welcome whenever you come.)
The surprise that is felt when the unconscious meaning of individual phenomena is recognized, when the latent significance of individual symptoms, dreams, strange reactions, is understood, may increase at a later stage, toward the end of the process of analysis. When we survey the development of a neurosis or a special character, our surprise does not diminish when we recognize how the co-operation or confict of particular impulses has produced just this emotional result, how inevitably and yet how naturally just this type of character arose in the play of psychical forces. And so, when his task is accomplished, the psychologist is struck with amazement as he surveys what he has seen of the dynamic and economic conditions of the inner processes. His incipient understanding of the methods by which our mental machinery works will not lessen his amazement, but rather increase it.” (pages 245 - 247)

THE UNIVERSE INSIDE OF ME
Me is this tiny little bubble of perception
when i meet someone i get to experience something different, something unique that is unknown to me
Does it compel? Does it repel? Does it draw me in? Does it stray me away?
That´s how i got to experience the universe inside of me my body was full of stars and darkness deep, endless space
the boundaries of my body were still clear I felt your hand on my belly your breath on my shoulder
and inside infinity

Ok I get where everyone is coming from when they see the design of Pavitr ‘Pav’ Prabhakar aka Indian SpiderMan as an expression of gender queerness, but let me be frank this is very typical Indian male costuming.
Even the toxic masculine patriarchal men have similar stylistic expressions or to be be more precise this is a traditional/historical/ye olde male aesthetic.
Having said that I love what design elements are being used here. So…
Let's take it from the top.
The FACE MASK
Tumblr media
The Three Colors surrounding the eyes are typical spider man colours but they are done to evoke the image the traditional makeup done for the ancient dance art Kathakali. In which the whole face is painted and bold lines are drawn to emphasise/exaggerate the eyes. These eye mask lines are usually thin - bold-thin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Same with the white lines on the cheek bones which are indicative of tusks or pincers of demons or Animorphs in folklore/myths.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The white dot in the centre of the forehead is the most common Hindu motif, expressed in myriad of ways all over the country .
Tumblr media
The ARM/LEG BANDS/CUFFS
Tumblr media
The bicep cuff is a part of Indian historic armour - made of malleable metal, its bejewelled ornate counterparts were then worn in day to day life. Here in the north Royals still wear it during big ceremonies. These metal bands are generally worn by warriors.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
bangles (metal circles worn at wrists) are an important male accessory and are more daily wear even in present modern times, some religions (Sikh,Jain etc.) require the males to always wear one at all times. The ones on the suit were more in the shape of wrist guards which again were an armour accessory. In Indian male clothing the cuffs are usually emphasised.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Due to traditional male footwear being sandals metal ankle cuffs were employed to guard the shins and were worn during wars while thinner bands - ornamental accessories - were worn in daily wear.
There are so many other things I want to elaborate on like: The PATTERNS/LOGO,The LEG GARMENT (??!)(what’s the collective term for clothes for legs?), The Cat’s Cradle swinging/body animation ; but my ADHD is already acting up so imma leave this here.
SIDE NOTE:
I love how the heel and toes are bare in this design. It makes sense from the spider powers perspective - no barrier in contact allows for better manoeuvring and jump control as is seen in gymnastics. But also because in Hindu culture important tasks including some traditional sports require the removal of footwear and getting feet dirty is not discouraged (of course with an adherence to washing of the feet multiple times in a day)
I also loved how incorporated his wrist guard is in his spider style using it as a toy and a tool. This aspect of making use of something in a completely different way was so desi ‘Jugaad’ I was stunned.

Time does not change. Only matter changes!
We need to STOP worrying that our manifestations won't come "in time" and acknowledge that time won't shift to fulfill our desires.
You need to change 1st
It is only through the bridge of incidents—people, places, and things—that we can 'reach' our desired reality.
Something HAS to shift or HAS to move for you
If 5000 people have to move for you behind the closed in order for you to see your desire in the 3D in an externalized form then they will have to run for you!
Everyone on the outside is your servant, your slave, ready and able to do your will - Neville Goddard
Viewing "time" as an unchangeable, continuous line that you move through moment by moment will make it easy to alter how you perceive both the past and the future.
I am aware that only I am moving and that I have the power to choose where I move. Time is not moving. Even if I'm not entirely sure how the incidents will connect, I just concentrate on the destination because I know what I want to happen in the end.
I've been manifesting much more easily ever since I reclaimed the power of my "I AM" and altered the way I perceive time, I don't need any extra methods, all I need is MYSELF.
All of it is a single, enormous, timeless moment. Realities from the past, present, and future coexist.
We are everything!
The past and the future exist right now
So reclaim your own power

it wasn't quite a dream, but more a rambling thought as i was falling asleep, but, was a cardinal like Machete ever asked to officiate weddings? I dont even know if thats a thing cardinals would be asked to do, much less had the personal for that kind of thing, but imagine being asked by a major political hardcore catholic family to do so and only accepting because you know your secret boyfriend is also attending as a political figure and you get to almost secret pretend its your twos wedding
I'm actually not sure, I've never thought about it. He'd definitely have the full rights to officiate weddings, you don't lose the eligibility to perform sacraments when you get elevated from an ordinary priest to a bishop and then a cardinal. But I think once you get into these high positions you kind of grow out of the priestly role and spend less time doing ground-level work. I imagine that weddings of important nobles and royalty were likely presided over by bishops and cardinals.
The scenario is endearing so I choose to believe that it could've happened.

If poetry introduces the strange, it does so by means of the familiar. The poetic is the familiar dissolving into the strange, and ourselves with it. It never dispossesses us entirely, for the words, the images (once dissolved) are charged with emotions already experienced, attached to objects which link them to the known.

Mha fandom when you say that Izuku’s biggest fic mischaracterization isn’t making him twinky:
Tumblr media
WHEN DID BEING A TWINK BECOME A BAD THING CAN I JUST ASK THAT
Like yes, twinkifying one male character in a ship can be annoying—it can perpetuate heterosexual roles onto same sex relationships (“who’s the woman in the relationship/who wears the pants in the relationship?”), BUT LET US BE CLEAR:
TWINKS ARE A PART OF THE QUEER COMMUNITY. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH BEING A TWINK, MAKING A CHARACTER A TWINK, OR SEEING A CHARACTER AS A TWINK.
WHEN in the ever loving FUCK did that somehow translate into “the twink has to be the stereotypically aggressive one so it doesn’t abide by queer stereotypes”. HOW DID WE GET HERE.

When watching Saiki K is so important to keep in mind that Saiki does not talk, we're only hearing his thoughts as the viewers. Not just because it's an awesome character trait but because, like, the other characters don't have the context we do. What we're seeing is Saiki showing his friend a hamster and saying "can you take care of this?" But all they're seeing is Saiki holding out a hamster and looking at them like 😐

"you never bother to find out what it does to someone, being stuffed in a stone box for weeks, or months, or even years?"
i seriously hope that this wasn't just a throw-away line they put in the show except it probably was, that they make the decision to touch upon what happened to her, and that we can see her heal from it

Not silk nor velvet, nor gems that enthrall, But the spirit within, that transcends them all. He crafted not an object, but a symbol bold, A story unspoken, worth more than pure gold.
For meaning, it whispers, in every design, A reflection of strength, where true purpose entwines. He saw past the surface, the shallow display, And captured her essence, in a collar's soft sway.
So let not the material, the senses beguile, But seek the true meaning, that makes life worthwhile. For the heart's silent language, in symbols is spun, And the greatest creations, are battles well won.
