Textbook models will need to be re-drawn after a team of researchers found that water molecules at the surface of salt water are organized differently than previously thought. Many important reactions related to climate and environmental processes take place where water molecules interface with air. For example, the evaporation of ocean water plays an important role in atmospheric chemistry and climate science. Understanding these reactions is crucial to efforts to mitigate the human effect on our planet.

Scientists develop artificial muscle device that produces force 34 times its weight
Researchers have developed a fluid switch using ionic polymer artificial muscles that operates at ultra-low power and produces a force 34 times greater than its weight. Fluid switches control fluid flow, causing the fluid to flow in a specific direction to invoke various movements. A research team led by Professor Il-Kwon Oh from KAIST's Department of Mechanical Engineering has developed the soft fluidic switch that operates at ultra-low voltage and can be used in narrow spaces. The findings are published in the journal Science Advances. Artificial muscles imitate human muscles and provide flexible and natural movements compared to traditional motors, making them one of the basic elements used in soft robots, medical devices, and wearable devices. These artificial muscles create movements in response to external stimuli such as electricity, air pressure, and temperature changes. For efficient operation, it is important to control these movements precisely.

i feel like such a creep for scrolling through different kyle cosplay blogs but also i need anatomy refs and face claims for art but then again i feel bad for using people as face claims (even though half of them haven’t been active since 9 years ago but still)
so like any cosplayers, how do you feel about people using your cosplay as an art red? it’s literally just smth for me to look at because k feel better drawing when u have an actual humnan to look at as opposed to a cartoon. like idk, is it weird? i don’t wanna come off as weird but like…idk. i feel like a creep for liking posts from nine years ago even though i was a toddler back then and was not on tumblr

I don't know how much of a 'geologists thinking everybody knows the structure of Quartz' kind of situation this is, but I was really surprised that in the last few weeks I had to explain a.) the basic difference between Bacteria and Virus and b.) what ions are to different people, respectively.
Those things should definitely be common knowledge.

Researchers engineer nanoparticles using ion irradiation to advance clean energy, fuel conversion
MIT researchers and colleagues have demonstrated a way to precisely control the size, composition, and other properties of nanoparticles key to the reactions involved in a variety of clean energy and environmental technologies. They did so by leveraging ion irradiation, a technique in which beams of charged particles bombard a material. They went on to show that nanoparticles created this way have superior performance over their conventionally made counterparts. "The materials we have worked on could advance several technologies, from fuel cells to generate CO2-free electricity to the production of clean hydrogen feedstocks for the chemical industry [through electrolysis cells]," says Bilge Yildiz, leader of the work and a professor in MIT's Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering and Department of Materials Science and Engineering.

ORBITER
From the smallest particle to the largest bodies in the Universe, everything is orbiting something else. Small wonder the ancients equated destiny with a spinning wheel.

In this process, the mass to charge ratio of ions (including the molecular ion) is measured with a high degree of precision (usually to four decimal places).
