Character redesign: iron man

First will say not happy with the helmet yet, will probably do another take on that at some point and expand on this more.

This version of tony didn’t replace the mk.1 suit, but instead chose to upgrade it, eventually leading to this suit which I’ve dubbed the ��nano-mechanic” suit. This suit’s gimmick is having panels and compartments all throughout it that can open to deploy nanotech tools, gadgets, and parts that tony can use to patch and upgrade the suit on the fly or do repairs/mods to tech in the field. The nanotech stuff functions almost like hard light, being far more brittle than solid tech and dissolving if it runs out of power. Because of this tony has to be smart about how much he’s using the nanotech before recalling it into the suit to recharge.

Also, because I wanted to defy the “superhero proportions” thing and stick a little closer to the mk 1 design in general, this tony is meant to be a bit more chubby (I did the head shot there before committing to that so it doesn’t perfectly reflect it…). In a lot of media, Tony is known for binge drinking and unhealthy habits, and is seen pulling snacks out of nowhere sometimes at least in the movies, so my take on him tried to get his life together after his kidnapping in part by cutting out alcohol, but combine going cold Turkey on that and being nearly starved for almost a year while kidnapped, and he’s now developed a bit of a junk food problem. I wanted this tony to come off as a little goofier, a little less competent from the outside, so he’s a bit chubbier, has clunkier looking tech, and is a bit more of a pun loving guy, which hides the fact that he is incredibly talented at reading people and finding ways to use goofy seeming gadgets in very powerful ways.

Idk if I’m getting across what I’m trying to with this, but yeah, my take on iron man.

🔄 Have you had to use the antman suit while you're like this? or did you two change suits?

I’ve avoided using the suit because I didn’t want the Pym particles to affect Tony’s body, ya know? He’s got enough going on with the arc reactor and the arm and the heart, so I’m not adding onto that without his okay.

So I haven’t used my suit at all, and Tony’s been very “um yeah let’s not and say we did” on using my suit right now. And I haven’t had the need to use his suit yet, so we’ll see.
