hi everyone and welcome to the official iron fist fanworks exchange announcement! :D

what is this about

tldr: there wasn’t an IF exchange this christmas and on the IF discord we all thought it was a pity so we figured we might go for now ;) long story short, you make one fanwork minimum for someone and you get one back with a deadline on april 1st (danny’s birthday!), and we all get more content :D

what do you mean with fanworks?

I mean anything from fanfic to meta to fanart to gifsets to fanmixes so anyone can participate with their sets of skills :D

what are the dates?

the dates are:

jan. 23rd-30th: sign ups (the post with the google form will be up tomorrow)

jan. 31st: matchings

february 1st: assignments are sent

deadline: march 31st/april 1st so we hopefully post all on the same day, with some three check-ins midway in case people need to drop out :)

what are the rules?

BASICS:

after you sign up, you will receive an email with your recipient’s name/prompts and you will have two full months to create your gift for them;

since we’re allowing more types of fanwork, on the form you will have to specify what you can do and what you want to receive and give me at least three types of fanwork you might be willing to receive and give me three prompts for each so that I have more room for assignments ;)

as for the iron fist week, other defenders/mcu people are allowed to be in the prompts as long as half of it is about characters from IF (ie: frank castle runs into the gang and starts shipping ironwing is fine, matt/jessica with claire and colleen playing matchmaker technically wouldn’t be since colleen is the only person who’s only in IF/defenders while claire is in all shows and the focus is a ship whose mains are not in IF).

Example just to be extra clear:

username name: janiedean (tumblr)/janie-tangerine on ao3 what I can do: fanfic, fanmixes, meta what I would love to receive: fanfic, fanart, fanvideo

three fanfic prompts (that I’m going to come up with at random right now and no I’m not gonna use them for my own signup ;) ): 1) danny and ward swap bodies. crack ensues; 2) post-s2 ironwing reunion, 3) crackfic where shou-lao is pissed off at being passed from person to person and ends up picking the person he would like to wield the iron fist himself, thank you.

three fanart prompts: 1) ironwing in a game of thrones inspired cosplay, bonus points if none of them is loras; 2) ward and danny doing something cute together on their road trip to asia; 3) any four people from the show cosplaying queen in the i want to break free video, you pick who’s who

three fanvid prompts: 1) ironwing set to bruce springsteen’s happy, 2) ward video set to bruce springsteen’s independence day, 3) crack video set to the internet is for porn, you decide who’s who (yeah yeah these prompts suck don’t mind me)

this is so that I can match everyone up to their best capacities and I don’t end up giving all fanart to fanartists, the videos to the vidders and the fanfic to the writers and so on. (if you want a fanmix I guess the prompt could be something like ‘hey can I have a danny-based country fanmix’ or something like that XD).

you will have to choose/you’re only required to fill one of those prompts. if you have time and you want to do more because you’re inspired that’s absolutely welcomed, but you just have to fill one and you’re good;

the deadline is april 1st with three check-ins midway, posting can be on tumblr or ao3 or wherever you like;

you don’t need to have a tumblr. anon submitting/asking is allowed, so if you aren’t on tumblr we can work out the details later - as long as you give me an email you’re good. if you’re on another site ie ao3/lj/dw just post your gift there and we’ll link it through submission, if you don’t have either but want to participate we can work anything out as long as I have an email;

extensions will be allowed but since it’s two months time, please if you need to drop out let me know asap :)

when you’re done, on april 1st just post (with the #ironfistexchange) on your tumblr a link to your work (or your work if it’s not posted somewhere else) and @ both your recipient (if they’re on tumblr, if not I’ll notify them) and the ironfistweek blog so I can reblog it here :)

I’ll set up an exchange email account asap but for now you can ask anything you’d like either at this blog or my main (janiedean).
