“We’re lost.”

You’ve known this simple fact for over half an hour. The Vietnamese jungle around you is lush and sticky and alive and, while it could easily melt into one neverending green space, you know you passed this same clump of trees fifteen minutes ago; you had the good sense to mark the spot with the lid of your water tank when you last passed.

Up ahead, James doesn’t even slow, doesn’t so much as pause at the note of irritation in your voice, only continues pushing through the low-lying trees with purpose. If you didn’t already know you were lost, his quiet display of confidence would easily have you fooled.

“We aren’t lost,” he replies shortly. It’s the most he’s spoken to you in the past half hour.

He flicks away an errant bug that’s landed on the tanned skin of his forearm, but still doesn’t turn to look at you. It’s inconsequential, but it makes a senseless rage bubble violently within you, enough that you seriously consider lobbing your water tank at his pretty blonde head.

You have to settle for scowling unseen at his broad back. Both of you should have been back at base camp forty minutes ago, but here you are still fumbling through the undergrowth with this infuriating man and his stupidly tight shirt.

An irritated escapes you at the same time a cacophony of bird song sounds from the skies above. You recognise it as Parakeets, Long Tailed and Alexandrine. A sign that you’re at least close to the camp.

“Of course I’m the one who gets stuck with a tracker who can’t find his way out of a fucking forest,” you goad him.

It’s not intentional, not really, but you’re exhausted and hot and it’s been hours since you last ate.

And, maybe, some small part of you is scared that you won’t find the camp before nightfall, but hell will freeze over before you admit that to James Conrad.

The man already thinks you’re a runt.

James still doesn’t stop or outwardly acknowledge your taunting, but even from where you are behind him you can see the roll of his shoulders and clench of his jaw that signals his agitation.

You’re treading on very thin ice.

“We aren’t far,” James replies in a tight voice. “Base camp is roughly four miles from here.”

It’s this that tips you over the edge - his maddening stubbornness that’s going to lead you both straight into the mouth of yet another one of this island’s almost comically large beasts.

“For fuck’s sake, will you just admit that you have no idea where we are or where you’re going!” You raise your voice and come to a complete standstill in the tiny clearing.

It has the desired effect.

James finally stops in his tracks and swiftly turns to face you. Irritation and annoyance are etched into every line of his handsome face, and you don’t miss the way his hands ball into fists by his sides.

You catch sight of the prominent veins on the backs of his hands and your traitorous heart leaps within your chest. You hate that it isn’t out of fear.

“Where should we be heading, if you’re so sure?” He doesn’t raise his voice, but there’s no doubt that he’s angry.

His piercing blue eyes are fixed intently on yours, demanding an answer that you can’t give him. Even if you did know the right way back to camp, the sight of him in that sweat drenched shirt clinging almost erotically to his defined chest would make words difficult.

You swallow quickly and lick your lips, fighting to keep your eyes from running over the bulge of his biceps. The man could likely toss you over his shoulder like you were a sack of flour; could very likely toss you from position to position…

No.

“I don’t know!” You force yourself to snap out of it, but even you can hear the shakiness to your voice. “I don’t know how to get back, but this is the second time we’ve come through here! I threw the lid of my water tank right there the last time we passed. You might not like me, James, but we are lost!”

He studies you silently for a moment, confusion sinking into his face as he turns your words over in his head. For second, you fear that you’ve really pissed him off, but when he finally takes a few short steps toward you, there’s something that could almost be described as humour lighting up his eyes.

“Does that explain why you’ve been such a monumental pain in the ass since we arrived?” he asks, and you swear you see a smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

You let out a disbelieving laugh at his audacity. “Me? You could be a character study on being a pain in the ass!”

He’s smiling fully at you now, as though he’s privy to some secret that you aren’t. “I’ve been nothing but warm and welcoming,” he replies easily, and now he’s standing even closer to you, so close that you catch the faint musky scent of his aftershave.

You can only stare wordlessly at him. His eyes are twinkling and they seem softer, like somehow you amuse him.

Like he’s fond of you.

“I think you seriously need to relearn the meaning of “rolling out the welcome wagon”,” you say quietly, because it’s getting hard to breathe properly with how close he is to you.

His smile grows as he closes the remaining distance between you both, until you’re backed up against the tree trunk and have to tilt your head to look at him. There’s something achingly tender in the way he looks at you, and you swear your heart stops when he gently takes your chin between his thumb and forefinger.

“I’m teasing, darling,” he says softly.

Darling. It makes a pleasant golden warmth seep through your veins.

James’ eyes scan your face slowly like he’s seeing you for the first time. He’s so wonderfully close to you that it would be only too easy to reach out for him, to run your hands along the firm planes of his chest and his broad shoulders the way you’ve often dreamed about.

But you don’t.

Out of fear of ruining whatever is happening between you both, you hold back, letting James take the lead. You’ll happily follow.

The soft pad of his thumb runs over your bottom lip, making you grateful for the tree at your back holding you up, and you watch his eyes dart between your lips and your eyes.

“Tell me to kiss you. Please,” he murmurs, letting his thumb trace your cheek.

Your heart is beating wildly in your chest, as though screaming out for him, and you don’t hesitate in granting him his request.

“Kiss me, James.”

His lips are surprisingly soft when they press against yours, like he wants to savour every last second. He cups your face with two large hands, holding you firmly in place as his tongue slips into your mouth.

You feel high on the feel of him and finally allow yourself to wrap your arms around his shoulders. James smiles against your lips and presses more firmly against you until you aren’t sure where he ends and you start. Suddenly, the tiredness and hunger and uncomfortable stickiness of the Vietnamese jungle doesn’t matter; all that does is that James Conrad is kissing you like it’s the last thing he’ll ever do.

One hand eventually drops from your face to curl around your knee, pulling your leg up and around his waist. You feel the hardened length of him through his jeans and when he grinds his hips against yours…

“Fuck,” you groan, letting your head fall against the tree while he moves to suck a bruise into your collarbone. “Don’t be a tease.”

He lifts his head to press another slow kiss to your waiting lips, and lets his forehead rest heavily against yours. “I have no intention of teasing you, sweet girl. I want this just as much as you do, but not here.”

You whine, but it only makes him laugh. “I have a very comfortable bed back at camp. Surely, you would prefer that?”

Wrapping your arms tighter around his neck, you pretend to pout. “Fine, but that brings us back to the original issue of you not knowing where the hell we are.”

James playfully squeezes your hips. “An hour will have us there, but every minute we go over is a minute I spend making it up to you. How does that sound?”

You grin and pull him in for another kiss. “It sounds perfect.”

You weren’t sure which part of him to look at first: his handsome face, his arresting eyes, the hint of his smirk, or the arms which held a formidable weapon. He turned, his back now facing you and a new dilemma emerged. A breathy sigh escaped your lips; he stopped in his tracks and turned to you. “Is everything alright there?”

Before you could answer, a loud roar echoed through the valley distracting you both. “Just fine,” you breathed, your muscles screaming as you stayed frozen in your spot besides James.

James gave you a once over, nearly shaking his head at the barely there khaki shorts and black tank top that clung to every delicious curve on your body. He wanted to be jealous of the beads of sweat that trickled down your chest, but the monster he was hunting had other ideas. “Just stay behind me and we’ll get through this okay?” You nodded as he raised the sight on the gun. Arms. Ass. No definitely arms. Well…

“When I get you out of here, we’re going to have a chat about self-preservation, got it?” James snapped as another roar sounded.

“It’s a date,” you quipped.

Fic & Author Recommendations Wrapped 2022

This is a first I am doing this but I felt that I want to share what I’ve been reading for the past couple of months.

Some authors you may already know and some, maybe not yet. But what they all have in common is that they make really amazing stories which I believe should be shared to everyone.

The categories will simply be separated by Dark and Non-Dark. I think it’s easier that way, but I will mention either way if they (the non-dark ones) are fluff, angst or simply smut.

Lil' Announcement...

It's nothing bad, I swear. Rather good. 😁

I have been struggling a bit with my writing - like you know. Now, I'd say I have it under control again. The smol writing department in my brain isn't misbehaving anymore - which makes me honestly very happy. I've been writing A LOT of Baby Fever fics lately and I decided that I need a break from it. Don't get me wrong. I love this AU with all my heart, but we need some distance, in order to work perfectly together again. Therefore, I'm postponing the wedding (again, as well as the requests in my askbox) and write some other stuff. I need a ✨change of scenery✨. I hope this helps, 'cause I want the wedding to be perfect.

To cut a long story short, I decided to open up requests again. 🥳 Not that long, though, 'cause I've still got a few left and if I have too much I feel under pressure quite fast. 🙈 Plus, I don't want y'all needing to wait so long. So, I thought about a 'new concept' for doing this...

Rules:

I will only leave them open for a few hours (12 max. Depends on how many requests I get... I think I won't take more than 15 😬)

Everything that gets send in after I close them again will be deleted. I know this sounds hard and I'm really sorry for that, but I need to draw a line. Every time I opened requests and got 10 (for expample), I ended up with 15 - long after I closed them again. I've always been so kind to still accept and write them, but this puts me off my stride. I don't close them without a reason. Closed means closed. I hope you all can understand that.

No nonnies anymore. I love nonny requests - don't get me wrong. But I had a lot of moments in the past, where I wished to talk to the person who sent me the request and I couldn't. If you don't want me to publish your blog name, no problem. Just tell me and I'll keep you anonymous.

There are things I'm not comfortable with to write. Please respect that and take a look at my Request Rules for that.

I can't promise you that I'll write your request. This is something that happens VERY rarely. Sometimes there's simply no inspiration for a certain request and it's neither cool for me to pressure me into writing it, nor for you who gets a shitty story to read in return. I hope you can understand that as well. Happens really not that often, though.

Please be patient. I'm not always the fastest writer.

Campfire Confessions

Summary: You and James share stories of your wildest adventures while on a camping trip, leading up to a confession of their own.

Pairing: James Conrad x Adventurer!Reader

Warning(s): fluffy fluff, love confessions, James is probably very OOC

You and James had been working together for months now, leading expeditions and exploring the wilds of some of the most remote and dangerous places that Earth had to offer. You had always admired his strength, his courage, and his quick wit, and you found yourself growing closer to him with each passing day.

As you sat around the campfire one night, roasting marshmallows and swapping stories, you found yourself gazing into James' eyes, feeling a fluttering sensation in your chest.

"So, James," you said, breaking the silence. "What's the craziest thing you've ever done on an expedition?"

James chuckled, taking a sip of his coffee from his thermos. "Oh, that's a tough one," he said. "I've done a lot of crazy things in my time, but I think the most insane--besides accepting the job for Skull Island--was probably the time I had to outrun a pack of angry wolves in the Yukon."

You leaned forward, eager to hear more. "What happened?"

James grinned, his eyes glinting with mischief. "Well, the team and I were tracking a herd of caribou, and we accidentally stumbled upon a pack of wolves that had been following them. Safe to say that they didn't take kindly to our presence, and before we knew it, they were charging straight at us."

You gasped, feeling a shiver run down your spine. "What did you do?"

"I did what any sane person would do," James said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I ran like hell. I had never run so fast in my life. Luckily, I had a head start, and I managed to make it to a nearby tree before the wolves caught up to me."

You laughed, feeling a sense of relief wash over you. "Well, I'm glad you made it out okay."

James shrugged, taking another sip of his coffee. "It's all part of the job, you know? Sometimes you have to take risks if you want to make a discovery."

You nodded, feeling a sense of pride in the work that you and James were doing together. "You know, James," you said, looking into his eyes. "I don't think I could do this without you. You make me feel safe, even in the most dangerous situations."

You chortled, "Hell, you made me feel safe when we were being hunted by those skull-crawlers."

James smiled, reaching out to take your hand. "That's what I'm here for," he said softly. "To protect you and keep you safe."

You felt your heart swell with emotion, feeling a rush of affection for the man sitting next to you. "James," you said, your voice barely above a whisper. "I think...I think I'm in love with you."

James' eyes widened in surprise, but then he smiled, his hand tightening around yours. "I think I'm in love with you too," he said, leaning in to press his lips against yours.

As you kissed, the flames of the campfire flickering around you, you knew that you had found something special with James Conrad. Together, you would explore the world and face its dangers, but you would do so with the knowledge that you had each other's backs.

Summary: part two of Too Late

Warnings: angst. fluff. lies? Steve makes an appearance.

Part 1

Now in the two years since she had left she finally felt at peace, she found herself.

For close to a year Conrad would visit Y/n in her little sanctuary that sat alone in the woodland area, for those months Y/n didn’t trust him of course she didn’t he was a member of Hydra, the bad guys who spend years and years destroying the goodness that was James Buchanan Barnes, destroyed and killed those that didn’t bow down to them and abide by their rules.

And while yes Conrad decided not to put a bullet in her head like she had asked for him to do, choosing to open her eyes to the betrayal, he chose to give her a second chance in life he was still the guy apart of a terrible organisation.

Even though she didn’t trust him she did have to admit that she appreciated his help, appreciated his company. Every time he visited he brought supplies and food for her, he even showed up once with a van that had a ray of different livestock in the back so she could start a little farm up like she had wanted to do.

Y/n tried, she really did try to not get too comfortable with Conrad but he was just so easy to talk to about everything and anything, she appreciated that he never once mentioned Steven and his betrayal with Natasha. She hated how funny he was, she hated how much she missed him when he left to go back to the monstrous organisation that was Hydra. Hated how he occupied her mind when he wasn’t there helping around the house fixing things and only accepting a nice cold glass of homemade lemonade from her.

She definitely hated how much he looked so attractive when he chopped fresh firewood for her.

She especially hated that.

It wasn’t fair, he was supposed to be the enemy yet he had treated her better in those few months than anyone had ever.

It had been exactly four months, three weeks and two days since Conrad had last been to visit and she hated it. Though she had the many animals to keep her company she had to admit she was kind of going a bit crazy.

Molly the cow would look at her like she was insane when Y/n would be perch upon on the wooden little stool that Conrad had made for her, talking to the cow as she milked her. Y/n swore that one time the black spotted animal rolled her eyes at the woman once.

Y/n walked into the pigpen fussing over the month old piglets that were the most precious little things she had ever laid eyes on. When her leg was knocked she looked down to see Grumpy, named perfectly for his grumpiness, she patted him on his head telling him to hold on for food, chuckling lightly when he snorted in response. The moment she finished putting the food in the trough she heard the unmistakable sound of a car coming up the gravelled driveway.

Nobody had ever come up to where she lived apart from…

“H-he’s back” she mumbled to herself before dropping the bucket with a clank and running out finding herself nearly tripping over her own foot when she had to turn back around to shut the gate of the pigpen.

Running to the front of the house she saw the same car Conrad always came in, her eyebrows pulled together when she saw two figures sitting in the front, as the car got closer her heart started beating faster as she noticed Conrad and another figure she had come to know because of Steve.

“Y/n-“ Conrad shouts as soon as he gets out of the driver side door “-god I’ve missed you” he jogs over to her and wraps his arms around her frame, pulling back when he notices she doesn’t hug him back but is staring at the other person who stands by the car. “I can explain everything I promise”

“It’s nice seeing you again Y/n.”

Two sets of eyes moved back and forth as Y/n paced around in front of them. One was nervous the other didn’t care about her reaction, well lack of one. Conrad went to speak but the other person in the room shook their head.

“Y-you lied-“

“I didn’t lie-“

“You didn’t tell me the truth!”

“Because I couldn’t, I’m sorry Y/n”

“It’s true Y/n. He couldn’t tell you the truth”

The truth being that Conrad was never a member of Hydra but a SHIELD agent. He had been undercover for four years. There were a handful of agents that were sent undercover and Conrad was one of them, the plan was to take Hydra down from the inside.

From what Conrad had said that it had worked, they had successfully captured members of Hydra one by one.

“Bu-but your meant to be the enemy”

“Yet you trusted him”

Y/n’s eyes squinted at the man sat next to Conrad “I understand that I’ve got real bad judgment when it comes to trusting men Fury”.

“I understand your confused but to be honest Conrad never lied to you-“

“I’ve been thinking he’s the bad guy from the moment he kidnapped me!”

“And yet you trusted him enough to let him come into your home”

“I-shut up. Okay so why are you telling me now?”

“I’ll let him fill you in on that. I’m going to go, it was nice meeting you again Y/n, truly. Goodbye”

Y/n watches Fury stand up fixing his trench coat before nodding to both of them then leaving. Taking the car with him. Leaving with a promise, promising her that Steve doesn’t and will never know that she’s alive.

Conrad’s eyes never moved away from Y/n, patting the seat next to him sighing a breath of relief when she sits. “I’m sorry for not telling you the truth about me, I wasn’t allowed to.”

“No I understand, sorry for overreacting”

“You didn’t-“ he chuckles “I missed you”

“I missed you too”

“So I erm I-I told Fury I want to retire and he’s accepted it, bu-but I was wondering i-if you would have me, here I mean”

“You want to say here? With me?”

“I haven’t got any family anymore a-and I feel happy here”

Conrad hated the silence that followed, he was about to tell her that it didn’t matter, that he would still come to visit, that he was sorry for overstepping when she finally spoke.

“We’ve got piglets. They are the cutest things ever, want to come look?”

“”We”?”

“Well yeah you live here now so…”

He moved so fast wrapping his arms around her, bringing her into his chest. Mumbling thank you over and over again.

In a way Conrad went off script when he took Y/n from her shared apartment with Steve, it was Hydra’s plan all along. The plan was to find a way to destroy Captain America. They had heard from a Hydra agent that was undercover with SHIELD that America’s golden boy had a girlfriend but was cheating on her with the black widow. The plan was to use Y/n as a way to get Steve to stop destroying their ‘hard work’. They were going to blackmail him, telling him that they won’t tell Y/n about his straying ways as long as he did what they said.

It was foolproof as the double agent told them that Steve was in love with Y/n.

Even though he had been cheating on her with someone she thought was her friend.

But Conrad knew that Hydra would hurt her just to get Steve to break. And that wasn’t something he could stand by and watch so he told the team he had been in charge of that he had gotten word that it was time to go ahead and kidnap Y/n. He did have to admit that it was admirable that she put up a fight against ten men who were ten times bigger than her, he hated it when Mitch punched her.

Due to having eyes on him he had to act as if the tears that were coming out from her pretty eyes wasn’t bothering him when she watched her boyfriend and friend sleeping together. When the Avengers showed up he couldn’t stop his eyes from rolling as Steve tries to make a pathetic attempt at explaining his betrayal. He did have to force himself to stifle the laugh that tried to make its way out when Natasha had tears in her eyes hearing that she meant nothing to Steve.

Conrad’s heart clenched at hearing that she was pregnant because she had already asked him to kill her, a thing that he agreed to do even if he didn’t want to. But hearing that she had lost her unborn baby made his heart clench even harder.

Getting her out of the rundown facility was easy as his team were to focused on keeping their eyes and guns trained on the Avengers. Getting her to the farmhouse that sat alone in the middle of nowhere was easy even if she was driving him mad when she kept asking him where he was taking her.

Fury found out that it was Conrad that had ‘killed’ Y/n a few months back when he had to meet the man to talk about how the progress was going. Fury was angry. He had met Y/n a handful of times he thought she was sweet, nice, definitely didn’t deserve to have her life to be ended the way it was. That was until Conrad told him the truth.

For the four months, three weeks and two days since he hadn’t seen her it had drove him insane he wanted so badly to reach out to her and let her know that he was thinking about her, that he was definitely coming back to her. Fury made him go no contact with her until the dust settled around them.

Conrad begged Fury not to let Steve know about Y/n being alive or where she was, Nick wasn’t a stupid man he knew that Conrad had clearly grown fond of Y/n. Finding out what Steve had done, he gave the man pacing around in his office his word. Steve would never find out.

“Con! We’ve got a runner!” Y/n screamed trying to chase after one of the pigs who decided to make a run for it. “She’s coming your way”

“I’ve got eyes on her! I’ve got her!” He cheered picking up the animal, who actually sighed in defeat.

“Shes so fast it’s unbelievable”

“I know, she was on a mission to get away” he laughed placing the pig back down into the pen.

“Her mission fail- what?”

“I love you”

“I love you too”

“Gimme a kiss- wait…”

It had been two years since Conrad had joined Y/n at the farmhouse after retiring, in those two years Conrad had confessed his feelings for her, he understood that she probably needed some time since how her last relationship had ended so he was completely shocked when she jumped into his arms and kissed him. Through them two years they lived happily in complete ignorance of the world around them.

“What?” Following Conrad’s eyes looking up at the sky she frowned. “That’s one of SHIELD’s jets Con…”

“I know. Stay close to me okay”

“Obviously”

They watch in silence as the jet lowers on the field just at the back of their home, the door comes open and the ramp begins to descend. They share confused glances at seeing no one making an appearance, when someone finally stands in the doorway Y/n gasps.

It’s been four years to that day since she last saw him. Those four years weren’t kind to him honestly. His hair was longer and he was even sporting a beard. He looked bigger in muscle though his face was slimmer, his once bright blue eyes were now sunken and dull.

“H-how did he find us?” She whispered unable to move her eyes away from him.

Steve Rogers had found them.

And unfortunately was now making his way down the ramp.

Since Y/n had her eyes trained on his approaching figure she didn’t notice the rest of the Avengers making their exit from the jet. Even Loki and Bruce were there.

“You-you made out that you’ve been dead for four years and yet here you are shacking it up with the enemy” his voice was deeper than it use to be.

“How did you find her?” Conrad asked standing in front of her, not liking the way Steve’s eyes moved up and down her body.

“You let me believe that you was dead baby, for four years I’ve-“

“What are you doing here?” She cut him off.

“Fury. He’s not as sneaky as he thinks.”

“Why are you here Steven?”

“I want you back” Steve states as if it’s the most obvious thing in the world.

“Not happening. Leave all of you”

“Baby I made a mistake-“

“Don’t come any closer Rogers. I mean it” it’s now Conrad’s turn to interrupt him. Steve cocks his head to the side and laughs. But does as the other man says.

“He’s Hydra baby-“

“He was undercover for SHIELD. Please leave now”

“Is that what he told you?”

“It’s what Fury told me. Leave”

“Just come home okay, I can be better please baby I love you”

“I’m already home. Tony, Bucky please get him gone”

Bucky looks at her with an unreadable expression on his face “it’s nice to see you again Y/n/n. Come on Steve she’s happy here let-“

“No. No because she isn’t. She can’t just run away and pretend she’s dead-“

“You was cheating on me Steven. With my so called friend as well. I’m happy here, I don’t want you anymore”

“Natasha meant and still means nothing to me baby, it was a mistake, one that I want to make up for. Please just come home”

“I don’t care, I stopped caring about you and her a long time ago. I won’t ask-“

“Just come home!” Steve shouts cutting her off.

“She is home! Just leave and move on”

Standing there Steve shakes his head slowly before looking back up to Y/n. “D-do you really love him?”

“I do”

“Does he make you happy?”

“He does”

Nodding, defeat and acceptance written on his face. “I really am sorry for everything I did Y/n, I-I never wanted to hurt you, I’m sorry truly.”

Leaving Conrad’s side she walks closer to Steve, standing in front of the man who she loved so much, the man who broke her heart. “I forgive you Steve, I’m happy now. Conrad is a great person and he makes me happy”

“I’m glad. I-I’ll always love you Y/n. Goodbye” Steve says before walking backwards and turning around to walk up to the jet. Everyone all except Natasha nods or waves to Y/n before following their captain.

Watching the jet leave Conrad moves closer to her wrapping his arms around her waist, kissing her neck. “You alright my love?”

“I’m more then alright, come on I’m starving and let’s not forget I am eating for two”

Hand in hand with Conrad she walks into their farmhouse seeing the positive side to seeing Steve again, it felt like a weight had been lifted off her shoulders.

At first Steve cheating on her was the worst thing that ever happened to her, but now four years later she was finally happier than ever before with the man who loves her and their unborn baby.

The cold, snowy weather was the perfect setting for the Meisters Hotel in Zermatt, and it was your favourite weather.

You and your boyfriend of five years had recently moved here as Jonathan was needed for work, he was the night manager for the hotel and you worked as a chambermaid.

You didn’t mind it at all as it was good pay, and the fact that you got to see your beautiful man at work.

Every evening he wore the most stunning suits you’d ever seen, the shirts being tight-fitted around his arms and shoulders.

He just always looked so good.

You both usually slept during the day as Jonathan worked night shifts and you were needed early in the mornings, so he would wait for you to finish before driving you both back to your cabin.

However, today had been particularly busy as the hotel filled with guests arriving for their stay.

It was Jonathan’s job to get them checked in and assigned to their rooms, and assisting them with anything else they may need.

You’ve watched him do his job a couple of times and it’s fascinating how effortless it looks for him.

But today you had been at home resting all day (Jonathan’s orders), as he was asked to step in for someone who called in sick.

So that meant that he was covering both day and night shift, and you knew he would be exhausted by the end of it.

He had sent you a quick text saying ‘i should be finished around the same time as you, darling.’

You were due to start at 5 in the morning, and it was currently 4:15 so you headed to the front door and began the short walk to the hotel.

The sky was slowly getting lighter as the sun came up and when you reached the hotel, you walked through the revolving door and saw him.

He was typing on the computer behind the front desk whilst speaking to some guests, then leading them to the bar area as he put their bags behind the desk.

You could tell that he was trying to push through the exhaustion, but then as he looked up and met your gaze, you saw his lips part as he sighed.

You walked over to him and stepped behind his desk, resting your hands on his broad shoulders and rubbing them gently.

You heard him release a quiet ‘mmmh’ as he leaned his head back into your touch, “Not much longer now my love.”

You whispered in his ear and placed a delicate kiss on his temple, to which he smiled softly at.

“Thank you darling, I’ll meet you here in reception once you’re finished.” He said and leaned down to peck your lips gently.

You left him and went to change into your work clothes, and collected the cleaning supplies from the closet and got to work.

It took you about two hours to flip the hotel rooms over, ready for new guests that would be arriving today.

Changing back into your normal clothes that you arrived in, you left your work uniform in the closet and grabbed your handbag before making your way down to reception.

When you got there you saw Jonathan sat on one of the sofas in the middle of the room, scrolling through his phone.

As soon as he heard the elevator ping and the doors open he looked up to see you smiling at him.

You both left the Hotel hand in hand and got in your car, which Jonathan had drove to work the morning before.

Once you reached your cabin that you now call home, you both got in the shower together but you were both too tired to even try anything.

You poured some of the soap into your hands, rubbing them together and rubbed your hands all over Jonathan’s back and shoulders.

He melted into your touch and rested his head on your shoulder as you rubbed his back, and reaching up to grab the shower head and let the water fall down his back.

Then you squeezed some of his shampoo in your hands and ran it through his wet blonde locks, he closed his eyes as you worked your magic and you admired once again just how beautiful he was.

Once you rinsed the shampoo out of his hair, you quickly washed yourself as you knew he just needed to get into bed.

Stepping out of the shower together, you wrapped one towel around his waist and one around your middle.

You got a clean pair of boxers out for him and one of his T-shirts for yourself, and once you were both dry and changed you got into bed.

He collapsed onto the sheets with a big sigh and you scooted closer to his warm body, wrapping your arms around his waist and resting your head on his chest.

One of his hands rubbed your back slowly and the other rested behind your head, playing with your hair gently.

He placed a soft kiss on your forehead and you felt his breathing calm down, you snuggled closer into him as you could feel him falling asleep already.

Before you knew it, you felt his arms go limp and you smiled as you heard soft little snores escape from his lips.

As he let out quiet snores, you reached up and brushed some of his curls out of his face and pressed soft kisses on his cheeks.

You couldn’t help but giggle at his snoring as it was so cute, and you were just so glad that he could get some well needed sleep.

You woke up hours later and it was gone 2 in the afternoon, and you naturally reached out for Jonathan and felt that his sleeping body was still there.

You pulled him gently into your arms and held his head against your chest, wrapping your arms around him and snuggling under the weight of him.

You heard him groan softly as he buried his head in your neck, pecking your skin lightly and your tan your fingers through his messy locks.

He finally gained enough strength to lift his head and he pouted his lips as if asking for a kiss.

You giggled and granted him his wish, softly kissing those perfect pink lips of his to which he hummed in delight at.

Once you pecked his lips one more time, you pulled away to look at him and when you did a laugh escaped your lips.

“What?” His raspy voice spoke as he furrowed his brows.

“Nothing… it’s just your hair.”

He narrowed his eyes at you and you couldn’t help but chuckle more at the sight.

He went to bed with wet hair so that made it even more messy, but it was just all over the place.

His normal slicked back blonde locks were now all curly and flicked in different directions, but he still looked like a literal god.

“Stop laughing,” He said with a smirk on his face and it only made you laugh more.

You cupped his cheeks with both of your hands and softly kissed him again, resting your forehead on his.

“I’m sorry baby, you just look so cute.” You stroked his hair and he smiled.

“I’ll show you ‘cute’…” He pushed himself up on his hands and began to attack your neck with kisses, slowly making his way down your middle which had you erupting with laughter as he tickled your sides.
