Don Alessio au I definitely would love to see more of that. How this timeline affects everyone around, what is Alessio and Giulia’s relationship like, what is Alessio like as a mob boss (and if possible to explore Noda and Bianco because Bianco has been mentioned a few times before. Just really curious 🧐)

How this timeline affects everyone around?

Well, the main cast (including Striker and Jake) are mostly unaffected by this turn of events. However, the Exes and Oohs events didn't occur because Crimson died six years earlier. Everyone involved in Crimson's Mafia was the most affected, especially Alessio, the main victim in all of this.

Jawns—borrowed from Noody_Noodles—had a bit of trouble in accepting Alessio's leadership at first because, well, he was in love with Crimson. But he did come around eventually.

GaGarret and Cecilia—characters borrowed from Wumbo Mumbo—were devastated by how things took a turn for the worse for Alessio. GaGarret, in particular, decided to work with his uncle, if only to keep an eye on him and hopefully keep him from becoming like Crimson.

Giulia's personality is, for the most part, similar to the original one. However, there's some key differences, the most notable one being that she does carry her shawl around; with Alessio in a position of power, the Yakuza didn't dare start a war with the Commission over a dolkril. Still, Alessio won't take any chances.

If you think Alessio is overprotective in the Helluva Dad AU, wait until you see him in this AU, where he takes it to a whole new level. Being the only member thing he has of Bianca, Giulia means the world to Alessio. She's the only light left in his life, the one thing that keeps him from completely crossing over to the 'dark side.'

Unlike her Helluva Dad AU counterpart, Giulia is aware of what her father does for a living. But Alessio still doesn't want her to get involved in the business. Regardless, Giulia is still 100% a daddy's girl, even if she does feel suffocated by her father's overprotectiveness; she doesn't know how her mother, brother, and grandmother died, and so doesn't understand that their deaths have made Alessio terrified of losing her too, which is why he's hellbent on keeping her safe.

Alessio gladly makes time to spend with his daughter, and doesn't let his work get in the way of it. While she did have a nanny for when Alessio has too much work or must leave for business, he usually takes care of her himself. In fact, everyone knows not to bother him on Giulia's birthday.

what is Alessio like as a mob boss

I'd say he's a combination between Vito and Michael Corleone. He's cunning, ruthless, and a nice strategist, but there's still certain lines he won't cross even for the same of business. Just as the Commision—the ruling committee consisting of the Dons of the Five main families—imagined, Alessio was a far more effective Don than Crimson ever was.

However, if you cross him... he makes Crimson look like a saint in that regard.

Man, I'm actually considering exploring more of this AU now!

Regarding Noda and Bianco, I haven't figured out their place in this AU just yet because I'd have to discuss it with Noodles first.

why would they have a show with no photographers (except beemer & jawn) present? when every other show had them? so confusing. need beemer to put out more catboygirl photos asap

Toronto night 1 didn’t have a ton of photographers compared to others so I really do think we just got bad luck! A lot of these photographers who post on Instagram are actually commissioned by local magazines and websites to take the photos for review articles. It might make sense for some of them to think only covering night 1 would be worth it for the sake of getting an article out on time and not having to pay for coverage of both nights. Just my theory though!

Hey ya’ll, together through commissions, we’ve donated over $150 to different BLM charities including ACLU, Reclaim the Block, Colorado Freedom Fund, Bail funds over all 50 states, Women for Political Change Political Action Fund (funding black trans and NB women in MN), and a couple of others that I can’t remember at this moment.

For a #tbt today, I'm showing off my #2017bestnine. This was definitely the year of the cake knife, with 5 pictures. The live edge oak ring boxes made the cut, as well as the birch and walnut continuous grain memory boxes. The chevron commission also made the cut. Unfortunately, that's just a progress picture of a test in oak and poplar instead of the maple and walnut that looked way nicer. Finally, the cutting board I'm trying to finish off. Overall, a very successful year in the shop. Finding The Grailed

I’ve always loved high fashion.  I consider it an art form, though you’d never guess to look at me. In my retirement years, I might pass for a bag lady.  If I could, I’d wear pajamas all day.  Dominique Browning, former head of House and Gardens, before it went defunct, wrote a memoir called Around the House and in the Garden.  In it, she expressed a similar affinity for pajamas, particularly those made for men under the Brook Brothers label.  I hope to get a pair, one day, to test her theory that they are the best armament for periods of outrageous fortune, Aside from Browning’s salute to Brook Brother pajamas, I’ve never paid much attention to men’s fashions.  What is there to think about?  A suit, grey, black or blue, a muted shirt and a Jerry Garcia tie for the daring. Frankly, whenever I’m obliged to purchase a gift for a friend of the opposite sex, it’s usually a box of sox or handkerchiefs from a local chain store.  If men don’t care about their fashion, why should I? Actually, I may have misjudged some males compatriots.  In the 14th century, men preened and pranced as might any woman. (Click)  Louis IX was no slouch when it came to fashion.  So why should I be surprised to stumble across a hot site for men’s recycled clothing? Grail’s the name.  In internet parlance, says writer, Max Berlinger ,grail is an article of clothing you’ve been searching for forever.” (“Fashion Forward,” by Max Berlinger, Bloomberg Businessweek, Feb 6-12, 2017, pg. 60.) While there are many sites for resale apparel, Grail stands out because, says Berlinger, the site “seems as much a fashion magazine as it [does] a consignment shop.” (Ibid pg. 60.) Started by 29-year-old Arun Gupta in 2014, the business is already making a profit.  The company charges a 6% sales commission and, of course, the inventory depends upon what the market has to offer.  Still, the business has tripled since it began and because women shop for the men in their lives, Gupta provides a “Woman’s Guide to Grilled.”  “Jawn,” for example, means “cool, trendy clothing.”  “Archive,” is an item of wear no longer in production.  “Nwt” means “new with tags. “NWOT” suggests the garment is new but comes without tags. R. Kelly Dropped by Sony Music – Variety

Sony Music has decided to dissolve its working relationship with R. Kelly, Variety has learned.

No external announcement of the move is planned in the immediate future, says a source, who added that the company took its time to wade through the issues “responsibly” and avoid legal ramifications. R. Kelly was removed from the RCA Records website, which lists the label’s signed artists, shortly after 10 a.m. PT on Friday, Jan. 18.

Kelly’s back catalog will remain with RCA/Sony. Kelly’s last release with the label was a Christmas-themed album in 2016, although he has released several songs independently since that time, presumably with Sony’s consent, and Tweeted earlier this year that he has a new album on the way.

Contacted by Variety, reps for both RCA Records and its parent company, Sony Music, declined comment. His current adviser, Don Russell, told Rolling Stone that several record labels are “very interested” in working with Kelly. “We understand RCA’s position: they have to remain transparent for the sake of the other artists that they represent and generate wealth for,” he said. “They’re not in the position of dealing with the kind of stuff that has come about with R. Kelly. He has no issue with RCA. I think he’s outgrown RCA. He’s ready for the next level of life, anyway.” TV journalist Jawn Murray tells Variety that he learned from a Sony Music source that Kelly was informed of the label’s decision to part ways with him last Thursday. 

A rep for Live Nation, which formerly promoted Kelly’s tours, told Variety Friday that it has not done so in many years, although it did occasionally do one-off concerts with him via regional promoters, but “not for more than a year.”

Sony’s move comes after years of public calls, and even a petition from members of the #MuteRKelly movement, for the company to part ways with Kelly. Those calls intensified in the wake of Lifetime documentary “Surviving R. Kelly,” in which multiple women accuse him of sexual misconduct. In recent weeks a plane commissioned by the women’s organization UltraViolet and carrying a sign reading “RCA/Sony: Drop Sexual Predator R. Kelly” flew over Sony Music’s Los Angeles offices and a protest was staged outside of Sony’s New York headquarters. But an insider notes that efforts to extricate Sony from its contract with Kelly had been ongoing for several months before and “[the plane] had no influence.”

Allegations of sexually abusive behavior by Kelly toward young women date back more than 20 years. Most infamously, Kelly was charged with child pornography in 2000 after a video surfaced that purported to show him having sex with an underage woman (Kelly was cleared in 2008 after that woman declined to testify against him). In 1995, when he was 27, he briefly married the late singer Aaliyah, who was 15 at the time (in “Surviving R. Kelly” an executive who formerly worked with the singer says he forged Aaliyah’s birth date on the marriage license to say she was 18, and another witness says she saw Kelly and Aaliyah having sex). Just last year, reports of Kelly essentially holding women captive in a “sex cult” were published. Multiple other reports have surfaced over the years.

Through it all, RCA — Kelly’s label home for the entirety of his solo career, both directly and as part of its partnership with Jive Records (which merged with RCA in 2007) — has stood by the singer, primarily, sources tell Variety, because he has never been convicted of a crime and has steadfastly maintained his innocence. Attempts by music companies to construct a morality barometer for artists is a precarious task, as Spotify learned last year when it attempted to ban artists — particularly Kelly — from its playlists based on behavior it vaguely defined as “hateful conduct.” Spotify ended up briefly penalizing two artists — Kelly and rapper XXXTentacion, neither of whom had been convicted of the relevant charges of sexual misconduct — before walking back the policy due to its vague definition and execution.

Entertainment attorney Leslie Frank, a partner of King, Holmes, Paterno & Soriano, told Variety that some major-label contracts have provisions stating that if [an artist is] “convicted of a felony or a crime of moral turpitude, generally speaking it is the label’s right to terminate the contract,” although Kelly has not been convicted of either.

However, whether or not such wording is in a contract, she said, “Any record company — or, really, any party to any contract — can decide they no longer want to be in the contract,” Frank continued. “The question is what can happen as a result of them asserting their desire to terminate the term of the agreement. R. Kelly could sue for damages. If R. Kelly does not want to terminate the agreement and instigates a dispute saying that it’s a breach of contract by RCA, if RCA is concerned about the cost of litigation and how a court might decide, they could try to come to a settlement with R. Kelly.”

However, the outcry that has followed “Surviving R. Kelly” grew so intense that it likely forced the label’s hand.
