I was squinting because the sun was in my eyes. The pretty lady standing next to me could not see me even though I was up close. We were leaving the gym at the same time today so I told her that she was an inspiration to me. She wanted to know how. I explained. She caught my attention back in January because I frequently saw her walking, riding the stationery bike, on the elliptical machines, etc. I knew that she had lost her sight. Disa is one of four people that provoked me to continue in the gym—different from the ones who encouraged me to do so. After seeing them, I had to ask myself, “What’s your excuse, Patrick?” You can see and furthermore your friend pays for your membership. Well, I didn’t like gyms. The thought of them made my body hurt. LOL!!! None of my excuses were good enough. That doesn’t mean that I always want to go but I’m always glad that I did. Also, she told me that 20 years ago she was a seeing person. She went through quite a trying time but God has turned things around for her. Like me, she loves praise and worship and sings at her church, which ironically is pastored by a minister who used to be the praise and worship leader at Living Word Outreach Center where Ken and I pastored. One of my sweethearts (Donna Corrales) wants me to wear more color in lieu of the frequent black that I tend to wear. This outfit, including the boots, was a gift. Purple is actually my favorite color. I like that it is a combination of blue, which represents calm stability and red, fierce energy.
