Some of these guys have been doing this for decades! There's tons of heroes that have gone to pretty extreme lengths to be Completely Imperceptible in civilian life.

Don't you think it's scarier, after all is said and done, to sit there and think I didn't notice a thing? I wouldn't have ever realised? I would never have known? To know that someone you were familiar with - close with, even! - had this whole other personality and skillset and powers and experiences and life just behind the curtain, and they hid it so completely you didn't even see it was there.

'I always knew there was something off' what if you didn't. How world shaking would it be to be so utterly blindsided? To know that this person had somehow learned to so deceptive?

You're a worker in WE fending off attempts to steal your inventions and Bruce Wayne #Invites you to his office to discuss security and he walks you back to your office when you get nervous about a break in. #You're struggling with school bullies and getting into trouble over your photography hobby and Peter Parker is right there alongside #You complaining about rich kids and fiddling with the outdated finicky lenses you got from the school. #You're a reporter unpicking a mystery scandal and you ask resident tank Clark Kent if he's able to play bodyguard if you go somewhere shady #The reader knows. No one else notices a thing. #And besides focusing on the civilian side is a nice change of pace! So what do you do when your favourite rapper makes a catchy song about the hardships of life that you want to love but upon release can’t connect with at all and after a few listens almost outright dislike because none of the pain and hardship life has put you through has ever made you a better person or given you the energy/motivation to do better and it actually just did the complete opposite and you’ve lost out on precious years of your life and so many opportunities while trying to process the trauma and undo the damage

But everyone else seems to love the song to the point that you start to wonder if maybe you’re just a fucking idiot for not being able to make something good out of said trauma and hardship instead of just being filled with crippling anxiety and depression and bitterness and grief and rage

Voyager Episode where Chakotay and Tuvok are making a fish tank together as a B Plot. It appears in the mess hall after this episode.

#Neelix B'Elanna and Naomi also help with the fish tank #fake voyager episodes my beloved #The fish tank ostensibly provides a method of supplying fresh fish but everyone on board becomes a bit protective of the fish v_v #Headcanon that Tuvok gave his kids fish instead of a sehlat so he knows about fish care #and Chakotay seems like the type of guy who'd just love a good little project #B'Elanna is the first to get protective over the fish....you're ju st gonna EAT them??? #also - and this is crucial...this B plot has nothing to do with the main story. It's not important and doesn't become important. #It's just the kind of thing that's happening on Voyager that week #B'Elanna is involved for her engineering skills and I imagine she designs and constructs a device for the mess hall that will keep the tank #affixed in one place so it doesn't shatter or get thrown around when the ship's hit (Tuvok then uses this to reinforce other ship systems) #Naomi helps by naming all the fish and handing people things they need and listing all the fish facts she knows #she starts off thinking fish are pretty boring as far as animals go but Tuvok and Chakotay teach her that fish are interesting and deserving #of a good life in a big well maintained tank (this also makes Naomi not want to eat them) #I think it'd be funny if at the end of the episode like Tom or Janeway was like wow! I guess fish is on the menu and everyone who worked on #the tank glared at them and they were li ke???W hat??? What did I say??

I think one of the sexiest things about biotics is the way it potentially turns your very body into a tool. I just think that's a fun thing to consider with Shepard.

#oc: Miles Shepard #Miles is a sentinel but Vanguard keeps tempting me as Miles' canon specialization... #Vanguard is so much more. Just throwing yourself forward #easier to have a main character complex. Easier to view yourself as a tool. A bullet. #Constantly pushing yourself physically. Scary and dangerous #but I also really like Miles and Kaidan as double sentinels. And also the team work #in later games sentinel really feels like a jack of all trades that fits into any group and can be whatever you need of them #biotic caster. Engineer. Tank. Not the *best* at most of those things but versatile. Deadly. Swiss army knife #I also really like Miles being a biotic but not a *powerful* biotic and only being able to do a few things with a lot of concentration #vanguards are powerful biotics. I think of adepts as having more control than raw power but also having control + power #sentinels have warp and throw as projectiles and that's it. The rest is all tech. and I like the idea of it as sort of #control but lacking power #like Miles has to really force out those warps and throws and he's not throwing a whole bunch of people in an area in front of him. #it's single pinpoint and really it's best if someone lifts something for him first #sometimes I like the idea of him still having strong barriers
