so I’ve been rewatching Anne With an E quite a bit, as it used to be my comfort show, and I’ve seen a bunch of people angry that Ka’kwet hasn’t gotten her story resolved. I want a happy ending as much as the next person, don’t get me wrong, but that’s pretty much it. The residential school system absolutely bulldozed millions of families and lives and cultures. I’m nonnative myself, but I’m really surprised how many people don’t know about the residential schools. It’s really sad to see how uninformed about how dirty the US and Canadian government did indigenous peoples. Chances are Ka’kwet didn’t get to see her family again, or died there on the school grounds, like thousands of other children from diseases, starvation or abuse, buried in mass unmarked graves. THESE WERE CHILDREN!!!!!!! I’m also surprised by how little people are talking about this. Anyway I just think that this history is incredibly important…

Just finished Anne With An E (new hyperfixation in between ST4 seasons) and oh my gosh I need answers.

I need to know what happens to Ka’Kwet (even though I know the answer is that she’s stuck in the school because like… history). She really came into the show and became my favorite character.

And I need to know more about Jerry. What does he do in the future? Does Anne have him take over Green Gables?

ruminating on the hypothetical anne s3 rewrite again and like… the duel urges to write out the winifred storyline bc like… it was bad writing and she was a plot device rather than a character in the end vs my need to include her out of spite bc so many people showed their internalised misogyny so fucking fast with her and i’m still feeling kind of bitter. there are two wolves etc etc

Tbh Ka’kwet from Anne with an E was more Katara than the Katara in the live action atla show was, but Anne with an E had good writers and directors that actually understood feminism and cinematography

hello! I am well but should be asleep it is 2 am where I live rn ;)

I’ve never really given it much thought, but I think that small flowers would be the most heavenly thing to receive. Clovers and baby’s breath and lilacs and lavender and chamomile and primroses and also… poppies and tulips. Even thought the last two are bigger flowers there’s something so lovely and soft and bloomy about a poppy, and so sleek and ready and chilled about a tulip. 🌼

Hugs!!! Absolutely! I never can be held long enough. I like to feel safe and closed in and warm. Holding hands is lovely too ofc but over a hug? Pleaseeee it’s hardly a question! 💛🌟🫂 (now I want a hug very badly) (unattainable because I am again up too late for anyone else to) (it is alright I have blankets to cocoon myself in 👍)

my favorite show of all time is Anne With an E!!! Unfortunately it got cancelled before we reached some very needed conclusions (I SCREAM INTERNALLY EVERY TIME I REMEMBER KA’KWET. I- AUHHHH) but it is a lovely lovely show and even though season two exists merely to rip my heart out I adore the whole show with the same (if not more) passion that I did when I was twelve. The characters are so comfortable and familiar to me and they’re all unique and love each other, and even if some of the characters are truly despicable, I appreciate them because they bring me to another very beautiful plane of existence. Plus also Ruby Gillis is there and she’s the one reason I’m even partially glad we didn’t get renewed for a season 4 because I simply would not have survived if the show brought her where the books bring her 😔👍. It’s hard to watch certain scenes because of the Emotions (and the outrage you may feel) at times but it brings me so so much joy nonetheless. Such a beautiful show. I definitely recommend it if you have not watched it before!
