#kasamatsu being a dork

Honestly for how much I enjoyed knb when I watched it I do not talk about this anime enough. I'm willing to discuss all of this more.

First of all these characters are so funny and chaotic but they're also such losers and I mean that in the most affectionate way possible. Like I know they're supposed to be cool and intimidating but every time kagami tries to act tough and cool or aomine says "the only one who can beat me is me" or akashi says "i am absolute" or anything emperor like, I just kinda die of a combination of second hand embarrassment and laughter. Like these guys are so funny and they don't even mean to be.

Having said that murisakibara is genuinely one of my favourite characters in any media because he's just so done with everything. He has no fucks to give and he just wants to sleep and eat, and he's such a mood. Ugh I love him. And i ship him with tatsuya because they just seem like they'd be cut together

And aomines introduction actually made him seem so cool. A dick but cool and I kinda loved the whole falling out of love with basketball because everyone gave up and just stopped trying to win thing because even I, as someone who is unfit and doesn't really like sports would get annoyed at playing against people who aren't even trying. So you might lose, someone has to, but if you don't even try you're definitely going to lose whereas if you try, there's a chance, no matter how small that you'd win. And the interesting thing is aomine wants someone to beat him or at least be able to keep up with him. And it's sad because young aomine clearly loved volleyball.

On a similar note, aokaga or aomine x kagami I'd like my main knb ship. I feel like aomine motivates kagami to improve and get better, shows him that you can't always win on your own sometimes you have to rely on your team. Meanwhile kagami is the one that beats and keeps up with aomine, that doesn't just give up no matter how hopeless it seems, who still wants to play against him even if he loses, who doesn't hate him simply for beating him in basketballs. In my head later in life aomine went pro and they met again and became at least friends though of course they still argue. And kuroko keeps in touch with them all and constantly reminds them of the embarrassing things they said and did in high school, middle school and after. Also I like how they're shown as being quite similar in some ways but still being very different people. And ill forever be wondering what it would have been like if kagami had known them in middle school, both as a teammate and an opponent.

Kise is great. I'd say more but honestly I don't think I need to. He's kinda like a golden retriever puppy and is kind of two faced but not really. I like him and I ship him with kasamatsu though they do kinda remind me of oikawa and iwaizumi from haikyuu except they're not childhood friends. They're fun I like them.

Midorima is interesting because I feel like he's supposed to be like the smart need character but he's also really superstitious or at least believes in astrology which is interesting because I feel like more often than not, the smart characters are shown as logical and rational and not really believing that type of thing so I like that it was different here. Also he's friends (though I do ship them) with takao who is like one of the best characters and I love him and he deserves everything good.

I honestly don't have much to say about akashi. The emperor thing is interesting and I like him as a character but I just don't really have an opinion on him beyond that.

Kuroko is probably one of my favourite anime protagonists. He just seems chill and like he's waiting for his friends to sort their issues so.he can make fun of them later. And I always love to see kuroko scaring somebody. Plus he found the dog and dogs are always a win.

Finally kagami. This guy is great. He thinks he's so cool and tough but je is such a dork. He gives me so much second hand embarrassment, more than any other character but he's so funny and I love him so much. He's a loser but he's my loser. I feel like everyone has a character who they love but also love to bully and kagami is mine. I will bully him endlessly but if anyone seriously hates on him I will defend him like my life will end if I don't.

And that's without getting into the actual games. When I watched this anime I'd watch it on a night when my parents went to bed. I'd end up watching like five episodes because they were playing a game and I couldn't just stop in the middle of a match. They're so fun. Ugh I just live it

Edit: I completely forgot Momoi and that is unacceptable. When I tell you this girl made me so anxious every tome she came up I'm that first game. Like, when seirin would do something it would cut to her and she'd be like I know, I thought you might do that, here's how we'll combat that. Like she's so smart and badass while also being girly and feminine and she's so loyal, especially to daiki. Ugh I can't believe I forgot her. I kept feeling like I was forgetting someone but couldn't figure out who. But I do love her I think she's a great character and I'm so glad that she and Riko exist and are more than just love interests for the athletes. Like obviously there's romance hinted at or discussed but that's not all there is to them. They're so badass and I'm so glad they exist in this world. And I love their interactions with each other as well.

Oh, I’m happy we finally meet Again

Anime: Kuroko no Basuke Pairing: Kasamatsu Yukio x Reader Rating: K+ A/N: I wanted to write this yesterday, but i fell asleep after work LOL. oops.. So I found time to write it before i fell asleep again . Hope you guys like this one too C:

You had zero intention of attending the practice match against Kaijou.

Kise was begging you to attend, wanting his sister to be his biggest fan... Yet you kept denying him, coming up with excuses for why you couldn't attend.

It was too far. You had a test to study for. Mom was busy so she couldn't drive you... 

And yet, despite all the trouble you went through to tell him 'NO'... You found yourself at Kaijou's front entrance, staring with widened hues.. No wonder Ryouta wanted to attend this school.. It was definitely bigger than Seirin… The grounds themselves had their own aura, and you found yourself to be slightly intimidated as you stepped foot on their grounds. Truthfully, you only had Kagami's map to go by, and boy did it suck.

But you somehow managed to understand his scribbles, along with the loud screams of your brother's name... You let out a loud sigh... Right... your brother was famous.. Some days you forgot how popular he was, mostly because people seem to forget you exist. During Teiko, you weren't followed or hounded by any of his fangirls, despite being around the Generation of Miracles.. They'd speak with Momoi, but yet... it was as if you were invisible...

'Like Tetsu-kun..' You muse, a gentle smile on your lips. 

Your feet carried you towards the sounds, the pheromones from the men filled the air. There were girls screaming and cluttering around the gym doors... Oh man.. How in the world could you sneak in now? You frown, getting down on your hands and knees, and crawl under their legs, growling when a few of the girls' legs trapped you. You should've just stayed home...

You managed to get through the sea of women, sneaking between a couple of guys who were on Kaijou's team... Oh... so their practice match was during their regular practice? You hum quietly, golden hues scanning the crowd... Your brother is there, taking on Kagami once more... but you hear a stern voice... and it sends shivers down your spine.. In that moment, your golden eyes widen, lips part in shock as they land on the very same boy you met in the guitar shop a few weeks ago...

The same raven hair... Those same piercing steel-blue hues... His handsome scowl... You blink then, a soft frown on your lips... 

"Handsome? Since when do I consider Kasamatsu-senpai handsome?"

Sure, since that day you thought about him a lot... How he would be Kise's senpai... You had an inkling suspicion he played basketball, from seeing his muscles that day.. But your suspicions were confirmed the day Ryouta complained about his new captain... You smile at that memory, watching the match with a renewed interest.

"I hate my new captain _____-cchi!"

You roll your eyes, laying down on your bed as you attempt to study. It's the first week in, and already you were loaded with homework, a frown on your lips. Your brother came home for the weekend, barging into your room as always and laid beside you, crocodile tears in his eyes.

"What did he do this time? Tell you, you were too pretty to play basketball?"

He pouts, resting his face on your arm, ignoring your squirming.

"He was talking down to me!! Saying I should respect them because they've been playing basketball longer than me... That it doesn't matter if I'm a Generation of Miracle..."

You pause your writing, turning your gaze to meet his, watching the emotions flicker in his eyes.. He seems to be in a daze, as if contemplating the last sentence.. He looks at you then, and the room is silent for a few moments, before you sigh softly, resting your pen on the blanket before gently rubbing your brother's hair.

"So he treats you like a regular person instead of a famous one? Isn't that a good thing ?"

His mouth opens a little, as if wanting to retort. But he immediately shuts it, rolling onto his side fully and curling up with you.. As if you were children going down for a nap, you smile.

"Truthfully, I don't know..." he admits, sighing softly. "I was really angry when it first happened... But as the days go by..." he stops, as if playing the words in his mind. He then meets your gaze, an unknown emotion swirling in those golden hues. "I find that 'Kise of Kaijou' has a nice ring to it."

Your eyes widen at his words, before they close and a soft smile curls on your lips.

"Well then... I'm looking forward to seeing how you grow... Ryo-chan."

You don't see the way his eyes widen, or how they sparkle with happiness at your words.. Instead, you're left to fend off your brother, who smothers you in loving hugs and kisses on the cheek, until the two of you land on the floor, and he has a bump on his head from being smacked.

Now... seeing how he plays with his team, even if there's still tension amongst them, makes your interest in basketball come to life.. If only a little. It helps that not only Kasamatsu plays.. But he's the captain of the team.

Meaning, he's the one who spoke those words to your brother...

You'd been in a daze for so long, you failed to hear the whistle blow, signalling the end of the match.. causing your eyes to widen in shock...

"Oh shoot! I have to find Tetsu-kun!"

With that, you sneak back into the crowd, mumbling apologies as you flee the gym.. Not realizing a certain captain caught your movements, watching your back as you run.

"W...What's she doing here?"

In your haste to escape the madness, you find yourself lost. You're not sure what part of the school grounds you're on, but it's somewhere behind the gym.. You bite your lip, rubbing the back of your head as you contemplate your options.... You could always text Kise, and see if he can find you... But you didn't want him knowing you showed up after all.. 

"He'd be embarrassed if he learned I saw him lose..."

"....I...It really is you..."

Your eyes widen at the voice, slightly out of breath. It's then you turn your head, stunned to find an out of breath Kasamatsu standing a few meters from you.. He was no longer in his jersey, but rather a blue tank top, accompanied with black shorts.. The high-length socks still covered his legs, but your eyes stayed on his face, the shock from seeing him being replaced with a smile...

"It's really you as well... Kasamatsu-senpai.."

He finds himself able to catch his breath, though he is a bit stunned at your appearance.. He finds a small frown curling on his lips when he notices the uniform you're wearing... Ah...

"So... you chose Seirin?"

You stand tall then, scratching the back of your head nervously. A sheepish smile curls on your lips, trying not to keep your hopes up upon hearing the slight disappointment in his voice.

"Y...Yeah.." you whisper, looking at your shoes for a brief moment, "S...Sorry to disappoint you, senpai."

He blinks, a frown curling on his lips at your words..

"Tch… W..Why would I be disappointed, idiot...?"

His words cause you to meet his gaze, though he avoids looking at you, cheeks reddening at his small outburst... He hadn't meant to call you an 'idiot'... but your words made him bristle.. And it slipped out because in that moment, he forgot you were a girl.

"I...I mean...." he starts, watching your eyes meet his, before growling in annoyance.. He rubs the front of his face, resting his hand over his mouth before shifting his eyes to look at the ground...

"I..I told you.. D..Do what's best for you..." he mumbles, feeling at a complete loss..

Seeing him in a vulnerable position is new.. Something you found yourself cherishing... He's not the same person you met back in the guitar shop... And yet, you find yourself enchanted... Wanting to see every side to this person standing in front of you... 

Your lips curl in a smile then, before a small giggle leaves your lips..

"You're an interesting person, Kasamatsu-senpai..."

He finds himself glaring at you a little, though it's diminished by the redness of his cheeks...

"S....Shut up... brat..."

His ears are ringing from your laughter.

The sound of your phone buzzing startles you from your company, and you look at the message, eyes widening.. 

"Ah... That's my mom! She's here to pick me up!"

He blinks then, standing up to full height, "That reminds me... What were you doing here ____?"

Your eyes meet his, and you fidget slightly, "I... I was here to give Kuroko something... Kagami gave me a map last minute, so I was able to watch the game... But I think my team has already left..." you laugh, trying to hide your nervousness. "So I had to text my mom to get her to pick me up...."

He nods, looking around casually. "I...If you need help, I can walk you to the front entrance... " he speaks, a slight stutter hidden within his cool voice. You find your eyes widen slightly, before they soften.

"...O...Only if senpai wants to..."

He rolls his eyes, walking towards you and gently bumps your head, before nodding his head, "It's not a problem, _____. I wouldn't have offered if I didn't want to... Now let's go.. Don't want to keep your mom waiting..."

You nod eagerly, falling into step with him. A small part of you wanted to spend a little bit longer with him.. Even if it was just walking together... Your gaze goes towards the captain, tracing the angles of his face, finding your gaze land on his eyes the longest.. Ah.. From the first encounter, you always found yourself engrossed with the colour of his eyes.. There was something about them.. 

It was during that moment, where you were caught up in your thoughts, Kasamatsu turns his gaze towards you, finding himself surprised at your stare.. He tries not to tremble, because he's never been good around girls.. But the doe-like expression you held reminded him of someone else... Yet at the same time, you resembled a curious puppy.. He finds it hard not to look away, because every part of his body is screaming to do so.. And yet, he's unable to look away... 

At least until the sound of a horn blares through the silence.

He takes that moment to look away, coughing into his hand as he attempts to regain composure.. He notices movement, and turns his head, eyes wide when you are typing something into his phone... W..Wait...

When the hell did you get that?!

He feels it being placed back in his hand, and he watches you beneath blue eyes... 

"I...IF you want to h..hang out... or just talk... Y...You can text me!"

When he blinks, you're already running away, waving your hand frantically. Despite knowing you've already driven away in your mom's car, Kasamatsu is left standing there like an idiot. He doesn't understand what just happened, but one thing is certain...

His heart won't stop racing...

He roasts you because he loves you

Vanilla milkshakes are delicious so this man has *taste* (So many milkshake dates)

I headcanon Kuroko doesn't do much PDA but he loves holding hands. Quite effective when surrounded in a crowd so you won't accidently lose track of where he is.

FOREHEAD KISSES/PECK ON THE CHEEK because you're so cute goddammit. Caught off-guard, of course. This is the one thing he loves about being "invisible".

Would confront whoever was being mean/disrespectful to you even if they were twice his size (no you can't stop him, because when you notice he's gone it's already too late)

Kagami: 8/10 (He reminds me of a dad)

He has enough temper for like 7 people

The occasional punch in the face should calm him down though

Could go from cool guy to a stuttering mess in the span of 3 seconds

Would be very awkward around you because he's a *dork*. Honestly he doesn't know what to do with himself half the time, like does he grab your hand? Does he put his arm around you? He doesn't know because dating is hard.

Murasakibara: 7/10 (I don't know shit about him except he's a giant baby who eats a lot)

His height is a blessing for short people since he can reach stuff without much effort (yes please, I'm tired of being a shrimp)

If you like to bake and baked for him, he's yours for life. You won't get rid of him. Ever. / If you don't bake but bought him sweets from time to time, you won't get rid of him. Ever.

Cafe dates with him sounds really fun though. He would probably give you recommendations on what he likes. BONUS; I don't know why, but I can see him being happy if you liked something he recommended (cute)

Hi! Can I ask headcanons for GoM? Their team know that they are in love (but not confessed yet) and begins to joke and give advice.

Hi there! Yes, of course! Here you go! There may be a few similarities in the reactions due to similar traits and such but otherwise, enjoy! This was a fun request to write. Also, I have no idea how long headcanons are generally supposed to be but these are kinda long hehehe...

Akashi

At first, he was going to make it this grand gesture with a handwritten poem (that sounds more like an essay) and chocolates and plushies and flowers...lots and lots of flowers. Think rose petals trails and large bouquets like in the movies.

“Sei-chan, I understand that you want to show how much you adore her, but this is going overboard.”

Reo-nee gets him to calm down and offers pro tips to woo his crush aka you with something more low-key.

And let’s be honest, Reo’s sense of fashion is freakin amazing, he is the trendsetter so he would definitely be up for having a meeting at Akashi’s house and helping him pick out clothes because this poor boy has a very *ahem* unique sense of style, at least in putting outfits together.

Sei knows a lot of high-end places but remember low-key. Not to say that you two won’t go there once you’re official. So, Hayama would suggest some nice cafes with a cheerful and homely atmosphere. I’m talking about the cute ones nestled in the corner with aromatic coffee and delicious cakes and pastries.

I don’t think any of the team members would tease him solely because they don’t want to fear his wrath on the court.

But whenever you pass by, Hayama and Nebuya get this twinkle in their eyes as they observe him watching you.

Nebuya tries to help and Hayama and Reo shoot his ideas down.

“Akashi, what about impressing them with your muscles?” “Nebuya, shut up. Just...no.”

But he does suggest inviting you to a game which is a wonderful idea!

Mayuyu straight up doesn’t give a damn. Secretly slips him a light novel.

“Ne Mayuzumi-senpai, did you give Akashi that light novel?” “What? Of course not. Why would I waste my time on such matters.”

They all care for and support him in their own ways whether that is actively giving him advice or watching in the shadows.

Kise

*cue Kise getting kicked by Kasamatsu for not shutting up about his crush on you during practice* 

“Kasamatsu-senpai, did you see how cute (Name)-chan looked with her hair done like that, did you?”

“Oi Kise, shut up! We’re at practice!”

It’s pretty obvious that he likes you by the way he interacts with you compared to other girls. He’s more sincere and he doesn’t have to maintain his ‘perfect model image’.

After being on the same team as Kise, they’ve learned to pick up on the subtle things so they’d probably figure his crush on you before he himself does.

Moriyama always trying to give him cute pick-up lines

And Hayakawa would be excited and try to help but no one can understand the poor child.

Tbh, I think Kobori and Kasa would give pretty good advice.

Kasa would give him some ideas like going on a picnic or stargazing while Kobori would be more logistical like the best days and times to go and what to bring and all the preparation he’s a mom like that

He would begrudgingly offer to teach Kise how to play some simple songs on the guitar.

Kaijo 10/10 would support him and try to help him confess no matter how much they grumble about it.

Midorima

“I d-don’t have a c-crush on her, nanodayo! Stop talking nonsense, Bakao!”

Full tsundere mode on.

His face is redder than his lucky item (a crab plushie)

Let’s be honest, Takao would definitely tease him for a great deal of it because Shin-chan is blushing and we might never see his face this color again.

“Shin-chan, Oha Asa said today is the perfect day for Cancers in romance hehe…” or “Oh, Shin-chan you’re asking me about relationship advice for a friend? Do I know them?”

But in the end, he’d be a huge help and his primary confidant. Midorima would probably practice his speech to Takao to the point where Takao has it memorized.

But for real, we’ve seen Carrot!Midorima but imagine a blushing Shin-chan as a watermelon.

Someone please draw this

Otsubo, the kind soul he is, would encourage him but more indirectly than Takao. Think a pat on the shoulder or gentle knock on his back.

Kimura and Miyaji low-key tease him but they would give him advice on when and how to ask her out.

But he stills has his idiosyncrasies and checks your compatibility and all which annoys them.

Yep, you were right…“Kimura, get me a pineapple.”

But deep down and I mean deep, DEEP down in their hearts (they refuse to admit) they all do help him as much as they can because he’s their friend teammate.

Takao and some of his other teammates would definitely spy on his confession in interest.

Aomine

Momoi would be hands down the biggest help and we all know it.

Imayoshi and Wakamatsu would use this opportunity knowledge to tease him mercilessly especially after all he’s put them through.

Once they’re satisfied, they would properly give him ideas.

*Sadistic megane sighs* “No, Aomine you don’t get a girl just by showing off.”

“Oi Ahomine, stop staring at your crush and focus on the drills, you idiot!”

Momoi would help him choose a nice location (somewhere nice but casual), pick an outfit, etc.

Sakurai would be his practice partner on how’d he ask them out and everything.

Honestly, despite how he acts, Aomine isn’t the most confident about these kinds of things cause he’s a dork but he’s trying his best okay.

And he does know how to treat a girl even if he is sometimes a jerk. (Momoi trained him as his childhood friend in preparation for this day lol)

Okay, but imagine this. Aomine is getting ready to confess and he’s really nervous and he tries to play it off but his teammates can totally tell. So they like, try to pump him up and cheer him on and it’s totally adorable. Bonding moment.

Momoi is all teary-eyed, “Well, this is definitely going in the scrapbook.”

They would all definitely spy on Aomine to make sure he’s fine/for entertainment/blackmail because a blushing Aomine Daiki.

They show Aomine the pictures they took of his confession with his blush and everything.

Aomine.exe has stopped working...until he snaps out of it and chases them trying to steal their phones to delete the pictures.

Murasakibara

It all happens when someone notices Mura sharing his snacks with you. Because Mura doesn’t share his snacks with just anyone.

His confession is the cutest and anyone who disagrees can fight me.

Mura would confide in Himuro and the latter would give him tips on how to confess and show his crush how much he appreciates them.

Mamabear! Himuro. He would help him plan everything and would offer to cook delicious food for them and this boy is so excited to see Atsu grow up. *wipes tear away* But actually, Himuro would be completely supportive and sweet about the whole thing and answer all of Atsu’s questions with careful thought and patience.

“Muro-chin, what kind of flowers should I get?”

“Hmm...well you could go with roses, but if you know her favorite flower you could give her that? Or there’s always hanakotoba, and you could give her a bouquet with flowers that represent how you feel about her.”

Atsu is actually really into the whole process of confessing it’s adorable. Okumura offers to help him (this boi needs more love, he’s such a sweetheart) and convinces the coach to let Mura leave practice early for his preparations/confession.

They are all really supportive throughout the process and are willing to help in whatever way they can. He may be a bit eccentric but he cares in his own way, and they’re one big family.

Despite only being a first-year in high school, Kise was super popular as both a superstar athlete and a gorgeous model, racking up thousands of fans and followers. This fame led him to make friends in high places, befriending various celebrities and idols from all different countries, which he would often meet with during modeling trips or award ceremonies. He was only sixteen, but he was already a megastar.

And despite being his partner since his second year of middle school, you rarely joined him on these trips because fame and glamour just wasn’t the kind of life you wanted for yourself. You weren’t starstruck and meeting other celebrities just didn’t excite you because you knew, at their very core, they were still just human beings.

Kise understood this and didn’t often pressure you to join him, especially on those out of country trips, which you were thankful for. On the other side of the fence, you didn’t pressure him to indulge in your favorite things, either and, most importantly, you didn’t give him hell over the various beautiful models that he had befriended. You trusted him, just as he trusted you.

This time was a bit different, however.

Kise had just recently won an award for the best supporting actor, but he wasn’t able to attend the ceremony because he had an important basketball game that day and, while he loves being a model and actor, basketball was far more important. Because of this, one of his friends had accepted the award in his stead and they were meeting up this weekend, a small get together to celebrate.

The problem was that he really wanted you to join him, but you were hesitating because of the upcoming finals that you needed to study for.

“Please~?” Kise pouted as he plopped down into the desk in front of you, his arms folded across the back of the chair. None of the other third-years paid him any mind because they were used to his antics.

You frowned at his pleading look, trying to ignore those beautiful golden eyes of his. “I really need to study, Ryou.”

“But you’ve been doing nothing but studying! You should -”

Smack.

Kasamatsu had come up behind him, smacking the boy with his notebook that he had rolled up just for the occasion. “We’re third-years, studying is important for us. Maybe you should try it sometime.”

You chuckled, resting your hand on top of Kise’s head when he whined, your fingers tangling in his blonde locks. “He’s right, you know. Just because you’re famous doesn’t mean you can slack on your studies. What are you going to do when we graduate?”

Kasamatsu huffed as he settled down in the desk beside your own. “Knowing him, he’ll probably still try to get us to help.”

“Probably.”

“I will not!” Kise’s pout deepened as he leaned into your touch, reminding you of a kitten looking for affection. “Come on, Y/Nchhi, it’ll be fun, I promise!”

“Our definitions of fun are quite different.”

“A deal, then!”

“Eh?” You blinked in surprise at the sudden serious expression he was now sporting as he stood up, his palms flat on your desk.

“Let’s make a deal! If you go with me to the party, I’ll start taking my studies more seriously. We can even go on study dates.” He grinned, blonde hair swaying as he leaned a bit closer. “What do you say?”

“I say it’s a trap,” Kasamatsu shot you a look, crossing his arms over his chest.

“That’s why I didn’t ask you, senpai!” Kise stuck his tongue out at the older male, causing him to roll his eyes.

“Thank god for that.”

Kise’s golden eyes met yours and he gave you that beautiful smile that you couldn’t resist, his hand finding yours. “Pretty please, Y/Ncchi? I really want you there with me. It’s just a small gathering!”

Judging from your past experiences, you knew that when he said small, it would probably be around twenty people, give or take. Still, it had been a while since you had joined him for any of his parties or trips, and you had been so stressed out as of late. You may come to regret it, but you finally caved. “Alright, I’ll go.”

“Yes!” He threw his arms around your neck, plopping down onto your lap so he could hold you closely, his face nuzzling the side of your face. “Thank you so much. I love you~”

You chuckled, wrapping your arms around his waist. “I love you, too, ya dork.”

You pulled up to the large house that Kise had directed you toward, putting the car into park before turning off the engine. The blonde didn’t hesitate to leave the car, glancing back at you when you hesitated, giving you a reassuring smile. You pulled yourself from the car, eyes focused on the tall model that had just stepped out of the house, his bright red hair messy as if he had been running his hands through it. He was taller than Kise, his teal eyes shining under the porch light.

“There you are!” He pulled the younger male into a hug before his eyes landed on you, giving you a polite smile as he held his hand out. “Hello, I’m Kevin.”

You took his hand, amazed at how much bigger his hands were. “Ah, nice to meet you! I’m Y/N.” You had to catch yourself before introducing yourself as Kise’s partner because you weren’t sure if he wanted anyone to know about your relationship. A scandal could kill his career, after all, and you definitely didn’t want that.

But Kise had other ideas as he threw his arms around your neck, his cheek against yours as he smiled brightly. “They are my partner! Aren’t they gorgeous?”

Kevin laughed loudly. “They sure are, you got lucky, Kise! Now, let’s get inside before the neighbors complain again.”

‘Again?’, you wondered, glancing at the other houses. Even though it was only eight PM, most of the houses on the block were completely dark, the neighborhood quiet. It made you think of those internet guys that are famous only for partying and how much their neighbors hated them. Was this Kevin guy the same way? Oh lord, what if he was an e-boy? The thought made you cringe as you followed the blonde into the house.

Soft music was pumping throughout the house and you recognized the band as One Ok Rock, a group you had enjoyed on more than a couple of occasions. There were people in every room, but there didn’t seem to be more than ten, at least, and no one seemed to be acting too wild, though there were two identical-looking boys in the living room arguing over the chip bowl.

Kise snickered at the sight, bringing his hand to his mouth. “Those two never change.”

“Unfortunately,” Kevin sighed, waving his hand to keep following him into the kitchen where three others were standing around the island in the center of the room, chatting over red solo cups. “Guys, the guest of honor is finally here~”

“Kise!” A woman with orange-red hair jumped off her stool, throwing her arms around the blonde’s neck as she squealed happily, her curls bouncing wildly. “Congrats on winning the award!”

He returned the hug with a grin, lifting the female off her feet before setting her back down. “Thanks, Mya! I was happy to hear I had won.”

“It’s a shame you weren’t there,” she pulled away, pouting at him as her manicured hand rested upon her hip. “Everyone was so disappointed that you chose basketball over the award ceremony, especially when you had been nominated so many times!”

He sweatdropped, rubbing the back of his head. “Sorry to disappoint you, Mya. The game was super important, though!”

“Did you at least win?”

“Ah, well…”

“So you lost,” she deadpanned. “You chose the game over us and still lost.”

“Knock it off,” the navy-haired man rolled his eyes before gulping down the rest of his drink, shaking it toward the brunette girl beside him, who refilled it with a bottle of what you assumed to be alcohol. “He didn’t choose the game over us, he chose the game over the ceremony.”

“I can’t blame him,” the brunette chimed in with a sigh. “It was so boring. It’s the same thing every single time.”

“You guys are so ungrateful!” Mya whined, stomping her foot. “You’re lucky to even get nominated. I haven’t been nominated for anything in three years. It sucks.”

“Yet you still go, even knowing you’re not gonna win anything,” said the man, his matching navy eyes looking at her blankly. “Why even bother?”

The brunette snickered, covering it with her hand as she sent the other girl a knowing look. “Because she likes to accept it for people when they can’t make it.”

Mya’s cheeks darkened at the accusation. “T-That’s not it at all, Aiko!”

“Sure, sure.”

Kevin glanced at you before clearing his throat. “Kise, why don’t you introduce your partner, man.”

At the word partner, everyone’s eyes shot toward you, staring holes into your body and you gulped. You had never really felt insecure with yourself, happy with your appearance and personality, but being surrounded by so many beautiful people could make even the most overconfident of people feel at least a little insecure with themselves. You forced a smile, offering them a small wave. “H-Hello.” ‘Ugh, real cool, Y/N.’

Kise appeared at your side, smiling brightly as his hand slid into your own. “Guys, this is Y/N, the most beautiful, gorgeous, smart, kind person in the whole wide world!”

Aiko snorted. “Only you can sound like a ten-year-old when introducing your partner.”

“Rude!” He huffed at her, sticking his tongue out at her.

She ignored him, approaching you with a kind smile. “Hey, I’m Aiko Nomura. Nice to finally meet the person that was able to whip Kise so badly.”

“I am not whipped!”

“Su~re you’re not.”

The navy-haired boy looked over at you, taking a sip of his drink before introducing himself. “Haru Harukaze.”

You smiled at him, but it quickly died when the red-headed girl appeared in front of you, curls bouncing as she leaned toward you, eyes narrowed. You weren’t the tallest person in the world, but you still had at least a foot on her, yet she still managed to intimidate you as she stared into your eyes.

“Mya Ochaco,” she finally stated with a huff. “Let’s see how long you last.”

“Mya!” Kevin snapped, sending her a warning glare.

She looked as if she wanted to say something else, but she refrained, turning on her heel and heading for the doorway, only to pause and look back at Kise. “I’ll go get your trophy. I put it upstairs so the twin idiots wouldn’t break it.”

Kise nodded before turning his attention to you, a frown on his lips despite the smile you sent him. He could tell it was a bit forced and he worried that you were regretting your decision to come. Just as his lips parted to ask if you were okay, two arms slung around your neck, pulling you away from him.

“Oh, who is this, Kumo?”

“I don’t know, Kamu. I’ve never seen them before.”

“They’re pretty cute, don’t you think?”

“Very cute. Ne, are you single?”

“Have you ever dated twins before?” The last line was chorused between the two as they smirked at you, their salmon pink eyes shimmering with amusement at your surprised expression.

“They are not single!” Kise cried, swiping at them as if he were batting away mosquitoes. They didn’t release you until he actually smacked them on the forehead, his eyes burning with jealousy as he pulled you to his chest. “Y/Ncchi is mine, keep your hands off, you dogs!”

“Tsk, tsk, Kiro-kun. People aren’t property.” The boy on the right wagged his finger, throwing his arm around his brother’s shoulders.

“You should be ashamed of yourself, Kiro-chan.” The boy on the left clicked his tongue, his arm resting behind his brother’s lower back.

“Don’t call me that!” Kise huffed, using his body to shield you from the two. “You’re both demons!”

“That’s hurtful, Kiro-kun.”

“Words can be painful, Kiro-chan.”

“Do you speak to your partner like that?”

“I bet he does. They deserve better.”

“They definitely do. We should -”

Kevin came up behind them, smacking the pink-haired twins on the back of the head. “Will you two knock it off! This is why Kise never brings them around us.”

“You’re blaming us?” They chorused. “How rude!”

Though Kise’s eyes never strayed from the twins, his fingers started to trace up and down your arm, an attempt to comfort you if you needed it. “You’re the last people I wanted Y/Ncchi to meet!” He stuck his tongue out at them, which they returned with the added effect of pulling down the skin beneath their eye.

Mya re-entered the kitchen, taking a moment to examine the scene before stepping up to Kise with the trophy in her hand. “Here ya go, Kise!”

“Thank you!” His mood lifted as he took the trophy from her, keeping one arm around you as if scared that you would be swept away from him if he released you.

The bell rang, echoing throughout the house.

“The pizza’s here!” The twins chorused, rushing toward the front door. You could hear the struggling with one another as they ran down the hall, barking at one another. A crash followed soon after and Kevin groaned, chasing after them.

“Oi, you idiots! You’re paying for whatever you break!”

After getting the pizza, everyone gathered around the kitchen table, laughing and chatting with one another as they talked about their current and upcoming jobs. You remained silent, not having anything to add to the conversation, but you enjoyed the way they interacted with one another, picking on Kise or scolding the twins for bringing up something embarrassing. The aura within the room was warm and comfortable.

When everyone had finished eating, the group moved to the living room, crowding around the television and arguing over what movie they wanted to watch. While they were distracted, Kise slid onto the couch beside you, his hand sliding into yours before bringing it to his lips.

“Are you okay?” He questioned softly. “I know they can be… kind of overwhelming when you first meet them.”

“Definitely,” you agreed with a soft chuckle, squeezing his hand. “But they all seem pretty cool.”

“Do you regret coming with me?”

“I don’t.”

His golden eyes brightened up, his lips finding your cheek. “I’m so glad!”

“Hey, watch it!”

“No, you! I was here first!”

“I was born first!”

“By less than a minute!”

“Your point? Let it go!”

“No, you let go!”

“Guys, knock it off!” Kevin barked, trying to snatch the DVD that the twins were fighting over, but it slipped away from the three of them, flying across the room and hitting a giant, light pink vase sitting against the wall. The room went silent as it teetered back and forth before finally tipping over, shattering into a million pieces. “My grandma’s vase! That thing cost me a million yen!”

“A million?” Aiko wrinkled her nose. “For that ugly thing?”

Haru didn’t glance up from the TV as he flipped through the channels. “My mom recently bought one for two mil.”

“You guys are nuts. I could never spend that much on a vase,” she shook her head.

“No, you just spend a mil and a half on a guitar,” Mya snickered from behind her hand, making the taller girl blush.

“Yeah and what of it? At least I’m not spending five thousand on one shirt. Talk about a waste of money.”

“Excuse me?” Mya scowled, standing up from the other end of the couch. “It’s vintage, easily worth more but I waited until it was on sale because I’m frugal.”

Haru scoffed. “You don’t even know what that word means.”

“I do, too!”

“What is it, then?”

“…”

Haru sent Aiko a smirk. “See, I told you.”

“S-Shut up, Haru!”

You sweatdropped as the group continued to argue, unable to process the insane amounts of money that they spent as if it were nothing. “Babe, I think your friends are crazy…”

Kise laughed, nuzzling his face into your neck. “They are, but I love them. If only Kasamatsu-senpai would come, too, then I’d have all my family in one place!”

You hummed thoughtfully, running your fingers through his blonde hair. “If he met Mya and Aiko, I’m not so sure he would be conscious for long. You know how he is.”

“True,” he pouted, leaning into your touch. “Maybe he’ll grow out of it in college?”

“Doubtful.”

Kise giggled at your lack of belief in the black-haired captain, unable to hide how happy he felt. He had wanted you to meet his friends for so long, the family he had made within the acting and modeling community and, with the exception of Mya, you seemed to get along well with them. It was all he could wish for.

1. as far as im concerned Kagami never left at the end of last game, that was an extended dream sequence... 2. i also totally agree with you that Kagami is prolly vers, if anything, and it was also MY PET PEEVE when people pinholed him into being a forever bottom at the peak of knb hype. 3. you keep teasing your long list of ships for Aomine PLEASE do him for the character thing lol. Omg thank you!! (I agree end of Last Game is not canon… or if it is he came right back the next year or smth I refuse to accept he just left forever. And I’m really glad to see the problem of Uke™ Kagami seems to be in decline these days… fewer people are writing for knb in general, but those that are seem to have an idea what a real gay relationship is or at least make him a fucking person and not a walking stereotype, and that’s encouraging to see). 

Also thanks so much for sending Aomine! …Strap in for this character essay tho I’ve been known to never shut up about this boy once you get me started.

How I feel about this character

I honestly… can’t even explain it anymore or even try to justify it but Aomine has had a bigger impact on me than, I think, any other character I’ve seen to date. I don’t even know what it is, I do relate to him (and project on him *cough*) but like, there are other characters out there that I have more in common with, and I like his whole arc and aesthetic but it’s nothing revolutionary, so… your guess is as good as mine. 

Whatever it is, I’ve been obsessed with this guy for over half a decade, and lately even as the KNB fandom falls into decline, my feelings are not they’re just getting stronger. His development over the course of the series is one of the most satisfying things I’ve ever seen, (that one bit at the end of the Touou/Seirin game with “I want to practice” and his later conversation with Kuroko hit me in the fucking chest every time), and I love how even though he’s portrayed as cold, uncaring and rude, it’s still understood (at least by anyone with some nuance) that that’s not what he’s supposed to be like, and underneath the distant, kind of dickish front, he’s hurting a lot. I’ve talked about the degree to which he cares about people before too, but I still have to give a mention to the ferocious level of protectiveness this guy has for his friends. I could go on about him for ages, tbh, and maybe someday I will write a for-real structured essay to try to get it out there, but the bottom line is I love this character, I have for a long time, and likely will continue to do so long into the future.

All the people I ship romantically with this character

Okay here we go… I ship this guy extremely liberally, even with people he’s never interacted with (hell you could mention any random character and I could probably see my way clear to shipping them with him somehow, I’ll still try to explain my logic if I can). Prepare yourself.

Kagami (of course, AoKaga is the OTP and definitely the one I’ve devoted the most time to, they’re just the best together I’ll never get tired of seeing them figure their shit out over and over)

Kuroko (I may be AoKaga on main, but I’m still such a sucker for the tragic romance between these two, and sometimes it just hits me over the head like a sledgehammer how much I love their relationship. I’ve also got a lot of feelings for AoKagaKuro, they’re such a perfect trio and I need to invest more of my time in the OT3)

Kise (I was a bit late to the game on AoKise, but I definitely see it now. I love their dynamic and how imperfect their relationship would probably be, the complexity of it. sign me up)

Momoi (I don’t see a lot of AoMomo love anymore, but I’ve still got a soft spot for it, childhood friends are my weakness okay)

Midorima (they’re so different but that’s what makes it interesting, and I love the idea of neither of them knowing how to show/tell the other their feelings and being awkward stubborn shits together)

Murasakibara (they almost never interact but I just think they’d have such a soft cuddly relationship and be really chill together… lazy Sunday mornings sleeping in and hanging all over each other that kinda thing)

Akashi (kinda same as Akashi/Kagami, I think the difference between polished upper-class Akashi and scrappy city boy Aomine would be hella interesting… though I’ve also got some angst ideas for them as a couple, after how things went down at Teiko… abandonment and whatnot)

Imayoshi (I got pulled into this ship HARD by Lysapadin’s A Firm Hand series and now it’s no longer a guilty pleasure ship and is actually something I’ll talk about in the open, just… the power dynamic fuck me up)

Sakurai (I fuckin love the idea of an anxious Sakurai crushing hard on Aomine and not knowing how to tell him but when he finally plucks up the courage and prepares himself for imminent death Aomine’s actually pretty chill about it… plus they’d be adorable together tbh)

Wakamastu (you know it’s gotta be enemies to lovers. not just bc I’m intrigued by the love/hate relationship itself but if you look past the attitude issues these two would actually probably have a lot in common. also I’m really interested in how their dynamic might change with Wakamatsu being captain and all)

Susa (idk but there’s one throwaway line in season 3 where Imayoshi says about Aomine “actually maybe he likes you” and that’s enough for me. bring me the rarest rarepair my body is ready)

Kasamatsu (it wasn’t supposed to be SERIOUS but they got me. That moment in the Touou/Kaijo game where Aomine helps him up and “you’ve really done it now, senpai” is legit, plus these two would be such a good-looking couple, honestly.)

Mibuchi (give me the pretty boys. I have no excuse for this except maybe their interactions in my own damn fic again)

Nebuya (sometimes shipping can be as simple as hey I want them to bang right. also they’re both humongous dorks under their respective rough exteriors and I love them)

Moriyama (they bond over liking girls at first and then they’re simultaneously like wait a minute… more Touou/Kaijo ships pls)

Nijimura (I have this idea of them reuniting late into/after high school and Aomine still calls him captain out of habit and Nijimura’s like relieved and impressed to see how he’s developed since the mess at Teiko)

Himuro (they Never interact but they’d be so Petty and Snarky sign me up)

Haizaki (twisted, but I’m interested it’d be so unhealthy and awful bring it)

Hanamiya (even more twisted tbh but there is that moment where Aomine confronts him… and I’m here for hate sex just as much as your typical romance)

Inoue (who, you ask? I know he’s such a side character and no one remembers him, but he’s a big reason for Aomine’s downfall at Teiko and they seemed to be buddies before that, I’d be interested in some kind of reconciliation between them, or a romance, ya know whatever works)

And then we get into crossover territory… MOST of these are not my fault they’re just things I’ve seen and adopted for myself

Kuroo Tetsurou (someone made a moodboard for them, and now I can’t stop thinking about them in a relationship, like damn… it’d be such a beautiful mess I wanna see more of it)

Oikawa Tooru (I’ve seen art, and also the light. These two damaged angsty prodigies, one sharp as a whip the other dumb as bricks, but both of them sassy and nerdy as hell. I could see myself getting addicted to this ship if I took the time to write it out, and I just might)

Yamazaki Sousuke (can’t lie, they look good together. I’ve seen more than one art piece of them interacting and I have a Mighty Need.)

Matsuoka Rin (angry lonely talented boys finding solace in each other’s company? you know that’s my shit. also shark teeth and cop AUs hells yeah.) 

Tanaka Ryuunosuke (I don’t know where the fuck this idea came from but I thought of Tanaka trying to pick a fight with “shitty boi” Aomine while in Tokyo and then losing his shit and here we are)

Terushima Yuuji (this one is purely physical… they pretty, I have no other reason, but also this absolute fuckboy, these two would be such a train wreck and I’m here for it tbh)

Yachi Hitoka (okay picture this Giant Terrifying basketball player trying to be less giant and terrifying to tiny shy Yachi and tell me you don’t just want to see that happen. I get Legosi/Haru vibes.)

I’ll spare you the rest of the ideas I’ve tossed around, because past this point it becomes pure crack (if it hasn’t already) but you get the idea. Throw a character my way and I can probably talk myself into it that’s the power this guy has over me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My non-romantic OTP for this character

K considering the List… it shouldn’t be surprising that I also consider this person a romantic candidate, but you know when it comes to non-romantic OTP it’s gotta be Momoi. Platonic or romantic, the way she’s stuck with him all those years and his obvious protectiveness and love for her and how (even though he claims to like big tits) he never even once starts to objectify her in any way, it’s so important to me. Momoi is Aomine’s redeeming factor when he’s at his worst, and she goes to bat for him even while he’s actively trying to shake her off and still tries to protect and help him when he refuses to accept it, even when it means they fight. (Also Kuroko saying “Aomine’s probably looking for you” after their argument puts to mind Aomine running through the rain calling Momoi’s name and that is just… pure). These two have the kind of unshakable long-standing friendship that’ll probably last them the rest of their lives, and no matter what context or form it takes, I can’t get enough of it. 

My unpopular opinion about this character

I’ve harped on enough about the fandom’s portrayal of Aomine as a one-note asshole who doesn’t care before, so let’s see if I can change gears a little bit here. 

I honestly don’t agree with… the persistent idea people seem to have of Aomine being a narcissist or obsessed with himself? Like yeah, he’s self-absorbed and egotistical, no question, this is not to say he hasn’t got those flaws and others besides… but that’s not the same as being like, physically attracted to yourself. Part of me suspects it was a “the only one who can fuck me is me” joke taken too far, so that now the idea of Aomine being in love with himself is just ingrained into the fanon culture, but if you look at the show itself, personally I don’t see it. If anything, I would think he’d have some self-loathing issues to work through (and that’s part of the reason he gave for skipping practice, he doesn’t want to be the way he is, and specifically says he doesn’t want to increase the difference between him and everyone else). But hey, that’s just my opinion. I’ll get off my soapbox now.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

I mean he says he and Kagami are postponing their match, after their brief one-on-one when he gives him the shoes, and then we never get to see it… Tbh just more street ball with this guy would be great, since it’s what his whole style is based around. Even if he’s just playing by himself… or hell, maybe since he thinks no one at the high school level can beat him, we could get a scene of him trying to go up against adults. Of Annoyances and Pillow Thoughts

Summary: A study of Kise in the moonlight, much to Kasamatsu’s frustration and embarrassment.

A/N: Happy KiKasa Day, guys!! So here’s another KnB OTP of mine that I haven’t written before! I wanted to celebrate their day somehow, so I decided on a little fluff from an OTP prompt I found. I hope I wrote these dorks well and that you enjoy them~

“I was really hoping there’d be some girls at this inn…”

“Guys, if you don’t stop—”

Kasamatsu sat up from his futon and flung a pillow across the room. From the sound of the answering grunt, it was right on target with Hayakawa. Not that he really cared which of them it hit.

Training camps were always like this for them. It was amazing that any of them could even move after practice, let alone jump around and want to play games and talk into late hours of the night. He supposed it was useful to have a team so full of energy, so at the very least they could keep up with games and drills.

But not when it was time for bed and they had to be up ungodly early for more hell training.

Kasamatsu grumbled and settled back on his futon, punching at his pillow to make it more comfortable. “I can’t believe Kise is the quiet one right now.”

He looked to the futon beside him, only a foot away. Kise would normally be chatting with everyone else, voice cutting through all the others about anything and everything. But instead, he was tapping away on his phone, brows scrunched together in focus normally reserved for his nightly skincare routine.

Kasamatsu blinked. “…What are you doing?”

Kise turned to him with a smile, almost annoyingly bright. “I was just texting Kurokocchi! I was telling him how our practice went!”

In one swoop, he smacked his pillow into Kise’s back.

“Don’t tell our opponents what we’re doing!”

With a pout, Kise tossed the pillow back at him. “Senpai, you’re so stingy.”

Kasamatsu supposed it showed how tired he was that he just snatched his pillow back and buried his face into it with a sigh.

It took longer than it should have for all of them to settle down. Even with Kasamatsu’s threats and Kobori’s insistence, they all talked and prattled away. It was only when a basketball flew across the room and Kasamatsu swore to make good on his promises that they all climbed under blankets and heavy fatigue.

Minutes ticked by. Possibly hours. And even though his teammates around him did nothing more than the occasional snore or sleepy grunt, Kasamatsu couldn’t sleep. Maybe he was too tired, or too anxious about the Winter Cup. Whatever it was, it left his eyes heavy and his mind racing.

He rolled onto his side with a low sigh. Only to come close to a face full of blond hair and broad shoulders.

Pulling away with a scowl, Kasamatsu tried to scoot to the edge of his own futon to make some space. It figured that even in his sleep Kise would try to invade his personal space. He sighed and stared hard at the back of Kise’s head.

Kise was irritating.

That was probably a blunt way of putting it, but it didn’t make it less of the truth. He was loud, and dramatic, and intrusive. He didn’t like to admit when he was wrong and instead pouted about it, like a little kid. He always had girls hanging off of him, even though he’d repeatedly said he didn’t like any of them.

One of the worst was that he cried easily. Kasamatsu didn’t like to put too much thought into it, but every time those gold eyes would well with tears, there’d be a painful twist in his own stomach. He’d decided early on that someone like Kise wasn’t meant to cry.

But even Kasamatsu had to admit, he’d gotten to be much more tolerable since he joined the team.

Where he was once arrogant and self-serving, he was now more humble and selfless. He still wanted to win more than anything, but that’s what the whole team wanted. He did what he could for them, becoming almost like a different person when he had a basketball in hand. Pushing himself to the brink of what he was capable so many times, and then pushing past even that.

And that was another thing. It wasn’t exactly Kise’s fault, but he was irritating in how he made Kasamatsu worry too. Ever since that match against Touou, when he’d winced and went down on the court, he’d been worried. He never wanted to see a teammate like that again.

Regardless of how hard he pushed his body, Kise kept going. Usually, Kasamatsu thought it was beyond reckless. But at the same time, it oddly enough set him at ease, which made him realize something important.

Kise was dependable.

When the clock was counting down, and the odds were stacked against them, he believed in Kise. He had faith that Kise could pull through most any situation. He was constantly growing and learning, at rates that shocked even Kasamatsu’s expectations. Kise had never let him down, even if they had lost.

Out of all the Generation of Miracles, he was glad it was Kise that came to Kaijou.

As much as he complained, he got along with Kise somehow. He couldn’t even begin to imagine having to deal with someone like Aomine or Midorima on his team. In comparison to skipping practice and a bad attitude, to weird objects and special treatment, he supposed Kise wasn’t that bad to handle. Even if he didn’t want to go to karaoke more than anyone should.

Honestly, Kise had a lot of good traits too. There was never an empty silence with Kise around, which was something Kasamatsu never knew he wouldn’t mind. When it came to the team, Kise was more and more thoughtful with them. And then on days where it felt like everything was gloomy and pointless, Kise was like sunshine cutting through rainclouds.

Kasamatsu frowned. Maybe…he’d been too rough on Kise. Freshman should respect their upperclassmen, just like he’d said when they first met and he’d stand by that. But Kise had been trying, for both him and the team.

He made a mental note to try and be gentler, and apologize for his rough behavior.

Kise rolled over towards him. Kasamatsu froze as they came nearly face to face. He was so close that Kasamatsu could feel his soft breaths on his lips. Being so near, he had no choice but to stare at Kise’s face. Which made him swallow hard and his cheeks flushed hot.

Kise was…pretty.

He knew that. Hell, everyone knew that. With soft hair, muscled build, and that model face, it was honestly hard to miss. No matter how unfair it felt to other people, Kasamatsu figured some people were just born to be prettier than others.

But in the creeping moonlight, shadows casted across the floors in dark blues, it really felt completely unfair.

Everything—from his lashes, to his nose, to even his chin—was flawless. Skincare routines and hair care products aside, Kise was still beautiful in things he couldn’t control. Like how his hair was somehow the exact color of the sun on summer day. Or like how his eyes were something Kasamatsu had never seen before, a mix between melting honey and raw gold dust. Kise was just as pretty standing in his uniform as he was on the cover of a magazine.

He didn’t really know what it meant, but Kasamatsu thought he was pretty when he was covered in sweat and dunking for the final point too.

“Senpai…”

Kasamatsu froze as Kise shifted. His face burned an even darker red, as his mind raced for reasons why they would be so close to each other. Stomach churning with butterflies and pulse pounding, he waited for Kise to open his eyes and accuse him.

Then an arm smacked across his face. Followed quickly by a leg to his stomach.

“Senpai, I have a photoshoot…” Kise mumbled happily, like he hadn’t just brutally sprawled across Kasamatsu.

He felt a violent throbbing in his temple. He didn’t mean to. He really didn’t.

But then he was shoving Kise and smacking him with his pillow again, screeching into the night.

“Kise, get back on your side!”

With how the room stirred, he knew it was going to be awhile before any of them got back to sleep. But as Kasamatsu finally drifted off later, the team snoring and settled around him, he had one last thought. One that put a quiet smile on his face.

More than anything, Kise was their ace.

And he was proud to stand beside him.

He planned this all along from the shadows

Felt really upset whenever his crush was taken away from the place every time because everyone just loved to celebrate them for holidays and he doesn’t know if fate is playing with him or not, but he feels a bit disheartened

You only notice him when he’s ready to leave the room and you rush after him, stopping right on the doorway under mistletoe and no this time it wasn’t his doing

He’s both surprised and shocked cause suddenly you’re looking away and he realizes that you know what that mistletoe above means and he’s shaking from excitement before he leans down and just kisses them

Lots of cheering from the team and your friends like whoa Kuroko just kissed his crush and Kagami is panicking for no reason at all

Kuroko doesn’t want the kiss to stop, but he makes sure he catches you before you leave the party and go for second kiss, which you return this time with no hesitation and he’s satisfied and happy.

It honestly doesn’t last long until he asks you to be his partner, which is on New Year

He’s very bold and forward, with no running around the bush... or so he tries to believe while he’s shaking from nervousness, unsure if you’re going to say yes or no

Kise

What a ball of sunshine. He can’t keep still and keeps trying to get you somewhere you’re not sure where, but every time he’s dragged elsewhere by people and he’s sulking and feeling upset before Kasamatsu just pushes him your way, ‘cause he can’t stand those sad eyes like it’s the worst day ever - glares at every person that tries to pull him away

When he sees your cheeks dark and hot and look up, his eyes widen, because Kasamatsu pushed him there and he suddenly gets all nervous

He doesn’t know what to do, he’s stammering and his hands are all around the place, but you hold them and for some reason you feel brave enough to rise on your toes, but you’re a bit short and you only feel more embarrassed

Kise chuckles at your attempts and he leans down and kisses you

Lots of whines from other girls and guys, who tried to get you under mistletoe, but you feel fine with it and Kise’s back to being his cheerful self with cheeks giving him away

He doesn’t move from his seat for the whole night, thinking what happened and realization dawning on him that he kissed you, his crush and wants to bury himself under a tree in the room, but instead he swings his arm at the same time you want to give him drinks and he splashes it all over your clothes and he’s an apologizing mess, but your laughter makes him melt and he just loves you so damn much it makes his heart hurt

Doesn’t hesitate to ask you on a date, even though he later says that it’s an apology for spilling drinks on you. But you both know it’s a real date

Midorima

He doesn’t want to do it and even Takao dares him, but no, Midorima isn’t for that. He doesn’t care for mistletoe for all he cares and wants to go home, but he can’t, ‘cause he sees you having fun and he just can’t leave without at least wishing you happy holidays.

Which ends with both of you standing under mistletoe

Definitely Takao’s fault and Midorima will get at him later as he tries to ignore it, but you point it out by innocently saying that it’s hanging right above your heads and at the realization of what it means, both your cheeks turn dark and hot as you look away

Midorima can hear Takao whispering “kiss kiss kiss kiss” somewhere in the background and he so wants to snatch that mistletoe down and make him eat it Midorima no but when he sees you glancing at his lips as you’re leaning closer to him, he becomes nervous

Are you doing what he’s thinking you’re doing? You want to kiss him? Is he dreaming? He must be dreaming because why is he suddenly leaning down and oh ym god Midorima calm down it’s just a kiss OF HIS CRUSH and it’s taking every nerve of his to stay in that one place and just kiss you

The moment he feels you pulling away he dashes out of the room like lightning. You may feel disheartened, but Takao shows you a video of his dark face and neck and you feel yourself blushing and cover your face, because Midorima likes you

Aomine

He acts all smug, because hell yeah he’s gonna kiss you, but when you actually stand in front of him and under mistletoe, he wants to run away? His feet are cold and hands sweaty and he has no idea what he should do?

So confused like should he just go for it or should he ask you about or what ?? Why are mistletoes such complicating flowers?

But seeing your eyes avoiding his and he realizes you actually know of the tradition and he just gets bits of that smugness and confidence back and he wraps and arm around you and pulls you close.

You’re not sure what you’re supposed to do, so you just close your eyes and Aomine has to stop himself from blushing cause how the hell can you look so cute? He’s so not sure if he wants to kiss you or tease you and it’s not until he hears both Momoi and Kuroko tease him that he leans down and kisses you hard and he hits your nose

You whine a bit before you burst out laughing and Aomine follows because “screw it”, mistletoes aren’t his thing, he better kisses when there aren’t any and you don’t really mind it either

Murasakibara

He doesn’t really care, because free food.

And then he gets a dare that if he gets to stand by the Christmas tree he’ll get whole package of American candies send by Alex herself and he’s immediately up for it.

He doesn’t realize it until he spots you looking at him nervously and embarrassed like you want to tell him something, but you’re also looking above him and he follows your gaze and just freezes.

Atsushi doesn’t know what do to and he looks around the room, at his teammates, who are finding this situation amusing and funny and he realizes he was deceived and he wants to crush them now, but then he remembered you’re standing there beside him and he looks back at you

You’re facing the ground with fingers meddling together like you’re not sure if you should speak or not and he sighs and calls your name. With a startle you look at him and widen your eyes when he face is just inches from yours

His kiss is short and more like a peck on your lips, but his cheeks give him away that are dark red and all down his neck and he’s sputtering all kinds of threats to the team, who is now laughing

You just stand there all confused, but when realization dawns on you, you just want to hide, because you’ve been kissed and now whole school would know. And for some reason you don’t really mind

Akashi

He’s not sure if he should even lead you to the mistletoe or not, but before he knows it you’re both standing under it.

Neither of you knows what you should do, less alone say, so you just stand there in awkward silence.

Akashi’s the first one to break the silence, asking you if you know what it means. And for some reason he hopes you don’t, cause he can see you don’t really wanna be there but that’s not true and to his surprise you nod and tell him.

He a bit thrilled about it, but instead tells you to forget it if you don’t want to, but you shake with head and say that it’s tradition and that you don’t mind if it’s him. Akashi feels his heart burst into butterflies and he can’t hide the blush that spreads across his cheeks and you’re worried that he’s upset and just when you turn to walk away, he holds your hand like in all those soap operas and pulls you to his side before kissing you

What a gentleman, everyone says, but his head butts into yours and you both end up laughing instead. What dorks, now everyone laughs, but in all this mess,  you’re the first to close the distance and kiss him on the lips and he just freezes before he returns it.

Kagami

He’s so embarrassed just by the thought of it so when he finds himself and you standing under it, he doesn’t know what to do. He gets so nervous and shy whenever he’s around you, his crush on you ever so seen to everyone and you often tease him just to see his reactions

But this time it seems like you’re also embarrassed as you heard chants to kiss each other and you look at Kagami, all expectations on your face and he just can’t bring himself to walk away, so he does what he always wanted to do

He leans down and kisses you on the cheek

You feel a bit hurt, but you quickly find yourself speaking, saying how that doesn’t count and Kagami realizes that yes, you really do know the meaning of it and before he can do or say anything back,  you hold him for his collar and pull him down, pressing your lips against his

He’s stunned, ‘cuase wow his crush just kissed him his crush just kissed him and he starts working like HIS CRUSH JUST KISSED HIM and everyone teases you how you’ve broken Kagami and you can’t help but laugh, ‘cause he looks just so adorable, so stunned and shocked

It takes a lot for him to calm down, but when he does, he doesn’t hesitate to kiss you again, feeling much more confident

Kasamatsu

What a blushing mess that plans Kise’s funeral for teasing him the whole evening

“But senpai you’re standing under mistletoe with [Name]cchi. You have to kiss!” and Kasamatsu wan’ts to get at him, but when he spots you by his side he just goes all red and stammering and has no idea what to do.

He can hear everyone teasing him and god why does he have to feel so nervous when he’s around you?? The fact that you seem to know about mistletoe too makes him even more nervous and he doesn’t know what to do

You’re saying something, but he can’t hear over the loud beating of his heart in his ears and he feels like fainting so he just nods and why do you suddenly look so sad?? What did you even ask?

When he processes his thoughts back to your question, his eyes widened as you turn your back to him and without thinking he holds it and just leans down to kiss you, though the kiss is weird and so sloppy, but neither of you mind

He’s kissing you. He’s kissing his crush and his cheeks are only turning darker and when you pull away, you fear he might faint so you help him outside on cold air

Where this time you kiss him, without those prying eyes, but someone always sees it and you hear cheers from inside, but neither of you really care at that moment

Nijimura

What a smooth bastard. Honestly. You’d think this was all by coincidence, but it was all his planning. He even looked so innocent when the two of you stood under it, but no that was just his façade.

But you don’t really mind, because really how can you not want to kiss someone like Nijimura?

There’s no ending to his teasings and you feel like burying yourself in a hole and just stay there before he kisses you out of nowhere and stops all your arguments that were coming up

He smirks into the kiss before he pulls away. “You were saying?” there was that self-confident smirk on his lips that you want to wipe off his face every time he manages to catch you off guard. But now you actually came up with a plan.

You only smile and cup his face, suddenly making him confused, because you were definitely up to something. He just wasn’t sure what and before he could react by either pulling away or holding your hands,  you kiss him back.

He’s shook, ‘cause he never thought you’d do it.

Wants to kiss you back, but you move away before he does. It’s your time to smirk as you speak “if you want more, don’t act like a jerk who owns the world” you’re not really sure what you were saying, but Nash takes that as a challenge, definitely not wanting the chance to slip away.

Imagine him trying to teach you basketball for like fun. He would be way more confident and way calmer than usual. And even if you suck, the fact that you're playing something he loves makes him so happy and honestly it's precious- (If you're already good at playing the game, he would be extremely impressed and wants to play one-on-one for fun. I genuinely belive he would let his guard down in terms of being a blushing stuttering mess?)

“I’ve heard about the shirts from Murasakibara, Kise and a very reluctant Midorima." Can we please see the actual conversation between these MIracle dorks? *MY CROPS NEED WATERING PLS* HAHA THANK YOUUUU!!! :DDD

“And! And you willnever believe what I found in his dresser! He has a yellow shirt declaring heis a Miracle boyfriend! Can you believe how cute that is?? Senpai mustlove me so much to have a shirt like that!”

Akashi is not entirelysure why he took this video call. Apparently he and Murasakibara were the onlyones stupid enough to answer when Kise was calling. (He had been laboring underthe fallacy that Kise would not try to group call them unless he had somethingvery important to report. Akashi makes a note to himself not to make thismistake again. He is not sure why Murasakibara took the call, and in allhonesty, is very surprised he has not hung up yet).

“Oh yeah, Murochin hasa shirt like that,” Mursakibara drawls. “A purple one. He wears it all thetime.”

There is a verypronounced pause, long enough for Akashi to reflect on the fact that throughoutKise’s exuberant bragging he had never actually said that Kasamatsu Yukio worethe t-shirt.

“You know,Murasakibaracchi, sometimes I hate you,” Kise sulks.

Murasakibara does notactually respond, and it is very hard to read him. On any other person, Akashiwould think Murasakibara had also been bragging, and making a deliberatedig at Kise, but…surely not. (Surely…)

“Sometimes only theshirt,” Murasakibara says, still in that lazy, hard-to-read way.

“I really hateyou,” Kise says, and hangs up.

Akashi thinks thismatter is worth pursuing. He debates calling Kuroko and instantly rejects theidea. Kuroko would not tell him if he asked. There is a chance Aomine would notqualify, so that just leaves Midorima.

With little preambleinto this phone call, Akashi asks, “Does Takao possess a green shirt that sayssomething about being a Miracle boyfriend?”

“That is none of yourbusiness!” Midorima sputters.

All of the sudden,Akashi regrets not making a video call for this, because he suspects the otherman must be blushing and he finds that hilarious. “Oh, really?”

“I mean—it’s—I amnot having this conversation with you, Akashi.”

“I was only askingabout a t-shirt, Midorima,” Akashi says. “Apparently Kasamatsu-san andHimuro-san both have one matching their respective boyfriends. I don’t see whythat should be a source of embarrassment for you. Unless there is somethingembarrassing about the way Takao was wearing the shirt…”

There is a disgruntledsilence and then, “…No. No reason at all. Yes, Takao has a green shirt. Ibelieve he is responsible for making them for the others.”

“Is that so?” Akashisays, thinking about who else might own a shirt. He hangs up and decides thisis something he needs to verify for himself as soon as possible.

A/N: Hahaha, thanks,anon-friend! I wasn’t planning on doing a follow-up to that short so I was abit stalled on this one, but it was a lot of fun so I’m glad I did =) Hope youenjoyed! KnB Overdrive Stageplay Finale (Live-viewing) Highlights

Today was the last performance of Overdrive that they screened in movie theaters across the country. My city was lucky enough to get it so I was able to watch it on the big screen with all the camera zoom-ins. (It’s like watching the DVD early)

For the whole stage report, please click here (it’s long). Here are some highlights that couldn’t be noticed (or as easily) in a live play and some stuff only in today’s finale.

Seeing the play with the cameras zooming in is so much different. Everything seems so close. Seeing the actors’ expressions during the dance in Rimfire was great. Especially for Hanamiya’s face. The dance was probably my favorite part of the play.

Kiyoshi really is a happy and smiley person. His actor does a good job portraying him.

For the finale, Izuki made puns for each rival school. 

Because the cameras zoom in on the actors, you get a REALLY good view of shirtless Midorima, Takao, Hyuuga, and Kiyoshi when they’re in the bathtub.

Takao spent a minute or so singing Catal Rhythm in the tub like how he does in the anime NG shuu (with Midorima yelling at him to shut up)

Hayakawa praised everyone in Kaijo, except Kasamatsu who wasn’t pleased. Instead he called Kasamatsu short. Kasamatsu went over to Moriyama to complain who then stood on his tiptoes to make Kasamatsu look shorter.

meanwhile Moriyama more than usual really made an effort to flirt with the audience whenever he could

I can’t stress enough how good Kuroba Mario is at playing Kise. He IS Kise. His face expressions are on point in every scene, from being smiley to frustrated, to serious, to pained, and he can quickly change it too. Even when he was copying Aomine he instantly changes his face expression to mimic Aomine. You can even see him mumbling to himself as he’s trying to copy Aomine, about how he needs to focus more, etc.  I said this in my report but he really does cry when he loses. You could see his tears (and snot) falling from his face as Kasamatsu tries to help him stand up. 

Kasamatsu’s crying face was also heartbreaking *sobs*

Midorima actually smiled as Kuroko got past Shuutoku with his Vanishing Drive, impressed by him. 

he also smiled as he admitted he surpassed his limits long ago

Today’s halftime announcement Kuroko: Kagami-kun, 20 min break. Kagami: Yeah Kuroko: Kagami-kun. If I win at Janken, make it a 1 hour break *they tie* Kagami: That was close! *they do it again and Kagami wins* Kagami: 20 min break! Kuroko: ....... *still standing there with his hand out in disbelief* (Poor Kuroko never gets his long break)

When Midorima calls Kise stupid, Kise actually pouts and grumbling at him.

Takao tries to get out of pulling the cart by running away. He tries to get Midorima to look away by saying a UFO (which didn’t work), eventually saying oshiruko which got him to look away for a second, but he still caught Takao. 

no janken with the GoM this time. I guess they cut that out for the Osaka runs because they didn’t do that on Saturday either.

Narrator Tsuchida during the Seirin flashback pretends Kagami is a vending machine (as he does in every play), this time Kuroko goes over and tries to do it too. Kagami slapped him.

Tsuchida being stupid made Ono Kensho laugh that he had to turn away to regain his Kuroko face. You were able to see him smiling though. 

As the Seirin senpais were shouting on the roof, 3 teachers and the vice-principal came to scold them. They were the captains of each time aka Imayoshi, Kasamatsu, Ootsubo, and the Overdriver (prop guy)actors. 

Imayoshi put tape on his nose to make his voice sound stupid

Overdriver was the female Vice-Prinicpal XD

When Kiyoshi got smashed in the face, even Kaijo and Touou in the stands above cringed or hid their faces.

Hanamiya’s actor does a really good job at being creepy, both in face expression and his voice. Not to mention he was a good dancer too. He made sure to be extra creepy for the finale. When he confronted Kuroko during the match’s halftime he literally got up in his face and even put his fingers underneath Kuroko’s chin before Kuroko slapped him away. He also crawled on the ground like the Grudge or something.

The cameras really zoom in to show how serious and angry Kuroko and Kiyoshi can get.

After Kirisaki’s loss and Kiyoshi praises Hanamiya’s last shot, you can just see how conflicted and frustrated Hanamiya is in his face. 

Today’s curtain call greetings were done by Kagami and Kuroko!

Kagami’s greeting was a bit long,but typical thanks and how happy he was about the play, etc. He says that the most “Overdrive” moment, aka surpassing your limits, was Midorima when he surpassed his during the match against Seirin.

Kuroko mentions how this past year he did Last Game, and when that finished he felt that perhaps KnB was over, but then he was still going to be in Overdrive so he didn’t feel sad at all. As of right now there’s no confirmation of a 3rd play yet but he hopes there will be one. 

There were FIVE curtain calls. That’s A LOT. 3-4 is already a lot for a finale so that’s impressive. 

They were supposed to stop at 4 but the audience kept clapping for more (even when the intercom was telling them to be safe on their way home)

Aomine and Kise held hands and bowed together, making fangirls scream XD

Shuutoku and Kaijou were dorks and waved at the cameras that were used for the live viewing

For the fourth one (because it was supposed to be the last one), Kuroko and Kagami start to walk off, but then they run back to the main live-viewing camera and give (us) a fist bump. XD

For the last one no one knew what to do because it wasn’t expected, so they suggested everyone including the audience and live-viewing audiences to do a big huddle cheer

Everyone: OOH!!!!!!!!!!!
