PSYCHEDELIC BABY MAGAZINE: "Can you tell me briefly about how you hooked up with Graham Bond, Dick Heckstall-Smith and Ginger Baker to play in Alexis Korner’s band?"

JACK BRUCE: "Well, I’d sat in with Dick’s band at a May Ball in Cambridge, and then he spent a long time looking for me and when he eventually found me he said I should come and audition for Alexis. This was the original band with Cyril Davies, Dick, Alexis, Johnny Parker and myself. This was the most settled line-up, where Ronnie Jones off the US bases would sit in with us. Then Graham joined. That’s how it all started."

PSYCHEDELIC BABY: "What was the reason you guys broke away from Alexis’s group?"

JACK BRUCE: "I came in one day and Graham handed in my notice for me. He resigned Ginger and me. (much laughing from both Jack and me). I didn’t speak to Alexis for years after that, but that was the kind of guy Graham was. I was just a kid really, I was only about 19."

PSYCHEDELIC: "How responsive were the audiences to this new R&B group?"

JACK: "We used to play as a trio before Graham got the organ, with just alto sax, Ginger and me. That was enjoyable. Then we became just about the hardest working band in the country. We used to open loads of clubs, like the Hanley R&B club in about ’65 or so. But it was just the kids that used to come and see us and they’d just go crazy. We were funny looking too, we weren’t just some boy band."

i saw you were asking for prompts and tbh i dont care what you give me as long as its dayasco (if thats okay?)

ok so i was brainstorming this idea of demon!bosco and sold soul!daya so this is like, a lil test run so tell me if y’all want this as a full fic

Daya looked at the demon incredulously, trying to process what she’d said. “Wait, so when exactly did my parents sell my soul?” She was about to get her phone out, but under her manager’s glare, she decided it would have to wait until after her shift, if she wasn’t whisked off to hell before that.

“When your sister was in a car accident. Your mom was still pregnant with you, which is probably what made the deal so easy, no innocent baby to physically look at,” Bosco shrugged, then furrowed her brows. “Why are you so calm about this?”

Daya looked around. “I’ve been in hell since I was sixteen, it’s called retail. And it’s not like I can fault my parents, their four year old wasn’t going to survive, I get the panic.” She knew that Crystal had been in a car accident when their mom was only about three months pregnant, so she supposed she couldn’t hold that much animosity towards her family. “Is that why I have diabetes?”

“No,” she snorted, “that’s hereditary.” She then furrowed her brows and conjured up her calendar. “It says today is your twenty-fifth birthday. Why are you at work anyway?”

“Because it’s a Tuesday? I got chewed out for taking off when my grandpa died, my birthday is not a top priority.”

Bosco scowled and marched over to the manager that had been giving the two of them the stink eye since she’d arrived. “She quits. I’ll see you in hell on September eighth, 2047, at roughly 8:23pm.”

Daya could hardly process what happened next. It was like she blinked and suddenly was in the pits of hell. “So, what happens now? Am I serving meals in the Kitchen of the Damned or something?”

She cocked her head to the side, a wry grin taking over her face. “No, darling. You’re going to be my assistant.” And with a snap of her fingers, they were transported to another area, one that looked like an entrance to a store at the mall, but with ‘Karen Korner’ crudely scrawled at the top. “Go nuts, babe.”

“I can yell at them?” She perked up like a kid being told to pack a bag for Disney World.

“Yell, slap, there are some weapons in the back if you wanna get creative.”

Daya happily marched into the store, deciding that being sentenced to an eternity in hell was a lot more fun than finishing her shift.

Remembering Rory Gallagher (2 March 1948 – 14 June 1995)

"“They used to play blues records on the BBC jazz programs as opposed to rock programs. Then the AFN, the American Forces Network, would have a jazz night and they`d play a couple of blues tracks. I didn`t even have a record player as a kid, so everything was down to radio. Then bit by bit in the `60s everyone became aware of the blues because Alexis Korner and John Mayall and the Rolling Stones were learning and also teaching other people as they went along.

“The first blues record I heard was probably Leadbelly, which was more folk blues than electric blues, and the first electric blues I think I heard was Muddy Waters on the jazz program. Even though I was a rock `n` roll fan, hearing the raw blues was like listening to music on a much deeper kind of level.”"

“A lot of the young rock guitarists who turn on to the blues think it ends and begins, with all due respect, with Albert King, Freddie King, B.B. King and maybe Muddy Waters,” Gallagher says. “They don`t delve back into the country blues or the borderline where country blues turned into electric country blues. If anything, even though I can play in the sort of standard string-bending style, in the B.B. King mold and all of that, I`ve always had a great interest in the more primitive playing, the open chord playing, rhythm and figures.”

While shopping for her new fall wardrobe, Blair decided to check out a new boutique in Peekskill called "Katie's Korner". Blair was surprised to find out that it was owned by Katie Kanisky, who had dropped out of Hillman College to open it, and she was thrilled to find out that Katie and Jo had broken up over the summer.

Since Tootie had joined the cheerleading team, she was spending most of her free time with her teammates Rosemarie and Sam Kanisky. Natalie was happy for her pal, but since Tootie is her best friend Natalie was left alone with a lot of hours to kill in the library. Natalie was still there for her friend though and was the first to congratulate her when Tootie was chosen class valedictorian due to her high grades and school spirit.

Now that Jo was single, she started to date again. She was excited when she landed a date with the class beauty, Luciana. They went to the Meneghel Theatre for dinner and a movie, but Jo didn't really enjoy herself. And it wasn't just due to the awkwardness of sitting behind Katie and her date.

Because of the amount of assignments and research they had to do in their final semester, Jo and Blair ended up spending a lot of hours cooped up in their shared room. It was the first chance they had to bond since the end of their high school relationship.

During a late-night study break, Blair and Jo go to reminicing about old times - and confessing the attraction they both had, and still have, for each other.

There was little time to explore those feelings, their final exam was coming up. After studying together so often during Eastland and Hillman, it was a sentimental moment to be doing it for the very last time. Despite the importance of that final exam, before long they were playing around just like they did when they were kids.

During the graduation party, Jo and Blair snuck away to a private corner for one last dance before they moved back to the city. The building tension of all those years erupted into Jo and Blair's first kiss!

That wasn't the only excitement of the evening, however. Their old den mother Edna Garrett told the four girls about her plans for a new business - and presented them with a business proposition.
