hi i’m gonna yap about Five Nights at Freddy’s

cw abuse, murder

okay so i rlly am just gonna spill my noggin rn cause it’s late and im Thinking.

so basically i’m trying to rlly put together my au here, greg centric cause im soooo hyperfixated on him rn.

ik security breach is supposed to be set in the future or smth but im not having none of that no siree it’s either gonna be set in present day or time ambiguous with 80s-early 2000s vibes!! but also like the timelines so messed up just ignore it for now (for story reasons mike, will, evan, elizabeth, etc. are all here too alive in well. it’s kinda like a timeline splurge.)

greg grows up in a pretty unstable home. he loves his mom a lot even tho she’s distant and not the greatest. greg’s dad was abusive so she left, taking him with her. from there on she just kinda floats from guy to guy, a lot of them rlly abusive towards both her and greg. when he’s young, one of the men end up pulling a gun on his mom, greg’s only like 7 so he obviously goes to call the police but the man throws him out and locks the door. gregory spends hours pounding on the door trying to get back in. it starts to rain and he’s cold, hungry, and scared. enter everyone’s favorite william afton!!!

very much midnight motorist. the purple car pulls up on the road behind him. william gets out to lend a hand. he can’t just let this little guy sit here in the rain!!! greg’s not like the other kids, he’s cautious and jumpy and doesn’t talk to strangers. greg’s seen him around, heard stories.

will offers to give him a ride, a dry set of clothes, but it’s clear the kids not having it.

right as will goes to grab him, the neighbors come out. williams forced to hand him over, posing as a good samaritan.

he’s seen him before. he’s in evan’s grade. he makes sure to keep an eye on him, just doing his part!

gregory ends up going in and out of some pretty bad foster families, getting kicked out, sent back, etc. after a particularly bad run that left him with a lot of physical/emotional scars, gregory runs away.

he makes it a week. cold, tired, sick, and hungry before who other than good ol bill afton shows up!!!! gregory has no other choice but to accept his offer. will takes advantage of greg’s situation and background. he lets him get into the diners and plex free of charge, even lets him beta test some of the games!!! no wonder he gets such high scores :) wills given him so much, the least he could do in return is let him use his mind sometimes!!

basically from here the entirety of ggy happens, accept greg’s finally able to snap out of it before killing tony. afton/glitchtrap gives him a choice. him or tony. the next day tony wakes up in his bed with no recollection of the night before and greg’s desk at school empty. cassie calls tony crying, having heard her dad mention an “incident” at work. gregorys missing posters go up around hurricane days later.

sb takes place and gregory is missing a lot in his memory. he knows who he is, some of his friends, but that’s about it. he’s still living on the streets and since summer started he no longer gets school lunches and amenities so he sneaks into the plex.

You almost gave Peter your marker.

Keyword, almost. But after what had happened back at Abram’s warehouse, you felt like it was your last day. You’re not going to lie to yourself though, a man had put a plastic bag in your head, you found it very hard to breathe that you almost past out, and you were thankful that you had managed to get away. You had never expected for Peter at all, of all people to come bursting in the warehouse and helping you. You still find everything crazy.

As you walk along the pavement, the sun was already rising when you had arrived in the continental, you greeted the concierge and grabbed your new set of keys. You just want to rest and sleep, maybe go AWOL for a day or two.

“We have taken it upon ourselves to move you belongings to your new room, Ms. Jovanovich.”

“Alright. Thank you so much.” The concierge nodded.

The new room was much better than the first. You locked your doors and hoped that the repeat of the incident last night won’t happen again, but you’re sure of it. After the stunt that Anya pulled, she won’t be able to enter the hotel anymore. She almost killed Lee, and it’s one of the most important rule in the hotel—no blood in the continental, it doesn’t matter if Lee was saved or not, there had still been a blood spilled in the continental. It’s wise if she should just steer clear, but no matter how much she ran away from it, she’ll still about to get executed by the management anyways.

When you had finished freshening up and changing to some comfy clothes, you laid down on the bed, certainly missing the comfort of it after being seated on a chair for god knows how long that it made your butt numb. You stared at the ceiling, grabbing your blood oath marker on the bedside. You looked at it, and opened it.

“I almost gave you away, huh? It’s hard for us assassins to ask for a help, but if we asked for help from others as a last resort or had been helped by others because they needed to—which is a rare occurrence for the latter, who the hell would help an assassin anyways? It’s silly that we always turn to you as a sign of owing someone for the help that they did for us. A small metal thing as an exchange for their help.” You chuckled.

“I don’t really want to owe someone. But if ever it’s Peter, then it’ll just be alright, I guess? Peter is a far much better choice than those people under the High Table.” You sighed and put back the marker on the bedside.

You’re planning on staying at the hotel for another two more days, and heading back to the avengers compound. At some point, you are considering on accepting Tony’s offer of staying at the compound, maybe you can live with him while your house is getting rebuilt—in which you have to start planning on, and accepting his offer as well in transferring to Midtown. Maybe this can help you get Abram off of your trail, the more you’re surrounded by a lot of people, the better. It’s least likely for Abram to target you out in the open that’s full of teenagers.

You continued on staring at the ceiling, until you felt your eyes closing and falling completely asleep.

It was three weeks later that you found yourself checking out of the hotel in the middle of the night. You were about to leave after two days, but ended up leaving after a whole ass month. You figured out that you needed a couple weeks of silence to yourself. No thinking of everything, just a couple more weeks to be by yourself. Basking in the temporary safety that the hotel gives you before going out again in the real world.

“It’s a pleasure having you with us, Ms. Jovanovich.” The concierge told you as you were checking out of the hotel.

“Likewise. Please send my thanks to Winston.” The concierge nodded.

“We hope to see you again soon.” You nodded and began walking towards the exit.

As you leave the continental, you began walking the direction towards the compound, blending once again into the night.

It was at around five in the morning when you arrived at the compound. You would’ve arrived a bit earlier, but you stopped by for a coffee at one of those 24/7 coffee shop and managed to have a chat with the nice girl that was working the graveyard shift. You pretty much had lost track of time, and when you arrived, you saw Steve doing some laps around the compound, and saw you.

“Hey, where have you been?” Steve said as he gave you a hug, “You’ve been gone for a month.”

“Out on a business trip. Didn’t Friday told you? I left him a memo to pass to you guys when you arrive from your mission.”

“Yeah, we did. But still wanted to know directly from you.”

“I’m back now, no need to worry.” Steve smiled at you and ruffled your hair.

“Good to have you back at the compound, kiddo. The rest of the guys are missing you, you’ve been gone for too long. Especially Tony, been calling you and you never answered, been driving him on the edge.” You chuckled.

“No phones allowed on business trips.” You shrugged and smiled, he laughed.

“Well you go on now and get some rest.”

“Thanks, cap.”

“No problem, kid.” You hugged him and made your way to the entrance.

The compound was still quiet, no sign of any of the team being awake yet. That’s good, you’ll be able to go to your room in silence. You took the advantage while everyone is not up yet, you want to deal with their questions once you’ve fully regained your energy, because some of them won’t make it easy for you.

Arriving to your room, you see Koda sleeping on your bed. You missed your little fluff ball so much. When Koda noticed you, he quickly jumped off of the bed and tackled you. You closed your room to block the noise from coming out. You lift him up and put him down on the bed, you changed into a comfy clothes and joined Koda on the bed.

“Hey buddy, how are you? Were you a good boy while I’m gone?” You ruffled his head, “Hey Fri?”

“Welcome back, Ms. Jovanovich. What can I help you with?” The AI greeted you.

“Thanks, Fri. Was Koda a good boy while I wasn’t around?”

“Yes, Koda was a good dog. Mr. Wilson had taken him out with him for a run every morning while you’re away,” You smiled, happy to know that Koda is getting taken care of amazing people, “He would also accompany Mr. Barnes when he goes to the city, he spends time with Mr. Banner and Mr. Stark on the lab, sometimes Mr. Parker takes care of him.” You smiled, happy to know that Koda is being taken care of amazing people.

“Mr. Stark had built Koda a dog bed inside the lab.” Your eyes widened at what the AI told you.

“Did he now? So much for no animals allowed in the compound, yet he had spoiled Koda by making him a bed, in his lab out of all places.” You chuckled, “Thanks, Fri. That’s all.”

“Okay. Have a good rest, Ms. Jovanovich.”

You laid down on the bed, with Koda beside you, and staring at the ceiling again—it had been your favorite pastime, staring blankly at the ceiling while you contemplate everything that had and will happen in your life. It did felt good to be back home again together with the team. You mentally noted that you needed to talk to your uncle later when you wake up.

It was already 10:30 in the morning when you woke up, you had decided to sleep in and not getting up at your usual time. You stretched your limbs and got out of bed, heading to the bathroom to freshen up. Koda was already waiting by the door and is excited to go out, so you two went out of the room and head to the dining area to grab some coffee.

“There’s our little killer superstar!” Sam’s voice boomed, “Sleeping beauty finally awake.”

“Morning.” You laughed at Sam and greeted everyone, guessing that they just woke up too because they are all just beginning to eat their breakfast.

“Hey pretty girl, come on and join us for breakfast.” Natasha smiled and gave you a hug.

“Lady (Y/N)! It is good to have you back. Friday said that you were away on a business trip, I was afraid that I won’t be able to see you before I leave. How was it? I reckon you had a good time!” Thor said while smiling at you.

You were touched by what he said, it’s rare for you to see Thor in the compound, so you make the best of it. He’s a really fun guy, you get along with him very well.

“The trip was fun,” You said as you sat beside Wanda, “Was productive, at most. Not done with it yet, though. I may be leaving again real soon.” You took a sip of the coffee that was handed to you.

“How soon?” Wanda asked.

“Maybe in two months? Not sure yet, depends.” You shrugged.

“Well, we’re glad to have you back again. This time, in one piece and no scratch.” Natasha said.

“Had taken a few hits, and my wounds had managed to heal back just in time. But can’t speak too soon Nat.” You took a sip of your coffee again.

“Good, you’re here!” You heard your uncle’s voice, “Been waiting for you to come out of your room ever since Friday informed me that you’re already back.” Tony hugged you.

“That’s great then. Needed to talk to you as well about something.” You finished your coffee and put it on the sink.

“Alright, you know where to find me.” Tony left right after he got his coffee.

“Hey buddy, I’m just gonna go and have a talk with uncle Tony, okay?” You pat Koda’s head.

“Speaking of Koda, can we take him with us?” Sam asked.

“Where to?” You raise an eyebrow at Sam.

“Wilson and I will be going out to run on a few errands.” Bucky said.

“Yeah sure, no problem. His leash is in my room, by my shoe rack. You can just go there and get it.” You decided to tease them, “You two gonna be going on a date?” Everyone laughed.

“Hey! You getting back at me with all the spider boy teasing that I made at you?” Sam fired back at you.

“You always both bicker like an old married couple, so…” You shrugged, “Maybe or maybe not. But hey, enjoy your date with Koda!” You winked at Sam and Bucky and left the dining area.

“Hey, guys.” You greeted Bruce and Tony when you entered the lab.

“Hi, (Y/N). Welcome back!” Bruce said as he hugged you.

“Thanks, Bruce. Mind if I borrow my uncle for a while?”

“By all means. I needed a break from him, he’s been cranky the past few days, up until now.” You laughed.

“Care to walk with me around?” Tony nodded at you.

He dropped the tools that he was holding and followed you out of the lab and the both of you began treading the halls of the compound, until you had reached outside. It’s a cloudy and windy day today, so it’s perfect for both you and Tony to take a walk around ghe compound. The surroundings are also quiet, so you both have a little bit of privacy.

“I need to talk to you about something.” You began.

“What is it? Don’t tell me your pregnant.” You slapped you hand at his arm, causing him to laugh.

“No! What the fuck! But hey, I’ve been thinking about your offer.” You sighed, placing both of your hands at the pockets of your sweats, “Of transferring to Midtown and living here at the compound.” Tony smiled at you brightly.

“But I can only live here temporarily, until the house had been finished rebuilding. Which I haven’t gotten onto yet, but I’ll be in touch with some professionals later when we get back inside.” Tony rolled his eyes at you.

“Hmm, don’t you think it’s time for you to move? If you keep on rebuilding it over and over again, those people that are after you would just come back for you there, because they know that you frequent there.” Your uncle reasoned out.

“You know that I can’t uncle Tones. That house holds a lot of memory for me, I can’t just throw it away that easy.” You sighed, “We have already been over this a hundred of times.” You frowned.

“Look, you can’t really blame me for being worried so much for you. I am always worrying about you when you go home. It’s much better if you stayed here with us permanently, where you’ll be around of many people from time to time.” You’re about to say something, but he quickly cut you off, “I know what you’ll say. I know that you can protect yourself, but until up to what extent? You’re a kid, a teenager, I know that there’s one hell of a fighting spirit in you. But don’t you think it feels so much better if you can be at ease and be in a place where you can feel safe? Even at least for a bit?”

Your uncle was making a very valid point. After spending weeks at the continental, you never felt so at ease. It feels good to be in a place where you can at least feel safe. You had been set on not involving the avengers in your business, and maybe you had been too strict with yourself. The people that you’re with, they’re a freaking superhero with actual super powers, they are the people who you can count on. Maybe it’s not that bad in permanently staying in the compound, Koda won’t ever be alone when you go on business trips. Maybe it’s time for a change, I’m sure that if you’re father is alive, he would want you to make the choice.

“Okay, how about we compromise.” You sighed, “I’ll be moving here permanently at the compound, but I want the house to be rebuilt and you’re going to help me with it. I will live here, but I’ll be visiting my house from time to time.” Tony smiled at you.

“I’ll gladly help you with that. We can even put some Stark tech on the house, for safety measures.” You smiled.

“Now that it had been decided, we now move to the second agenda to talk about. About me transferring to Midtown.”

“What about it?” He crossed his arms behind him.

“While I was back at the continental, I’ve been thinking about it a lot. I wanted to feel like a normal teenager, I wanted to know what it feels like, just for once. I have been living in fast forward, to the point that I have forgotten what’s it like to have a normal life. I’ve never even set foot on an actual school, I’ve been homeschooled all my life. I wanted to know what it felt like to be surrounded by a lot of people that are close to my age, not with a bunch of old people that wanted me to kill someone for them all the time. I know very well that my life will never ever be normal or peaceful, because none of what I do and involve myself with is normal and peaceful to begin with, it was a choice that I had made, but I would like to experience it at some point in my life. Before the time comes and it gets taken away from me.”

You sighed and looked at the ground while walking and felt an arm around your shoulder. You felt Tony’s gaze linger at you, and you looked back at him, shrugging your shoulders.

“What? You can’t convince me otherwise that it’s not true because it’s really true. It’s the reality of it. It’s the reality of what I do.” You chuckled bitterly.

“No matter what happens, I’ll always be here to support and help you, you remember that, okay? You’re the only memory of Helen that I have, the only blood related, a kin that I have.” Tony pulled you in for a tight hug.

“Speaking of my mom, do you want to come with me and visit them?” You looked up at Tony and smiled at him, “Been planning on visiting them again, and please remind me to get some flowers. It’s already embarrassing enough that their daughter doesn’t visit them that often and when I’ll visit, I always forget bring any flowers at all.” You scowled.

“I would love to, kiddo.” He smiled back at you and ruffled your hair, “So when do you plan on starting school?” You both continued walking.

“Not really sure. Don’t know how it really works.” You shrugged and scratched the back of your head.

“How about we visit the school and take a look?”

“You sure? Aren’t you a big shot or something? Wouldn’t that be weird if the Tony Stark suddenly went to Midtown on a completely random day?” You raised an eyebrow at him.

“We’ll go there when the classes are in session, if you want. To avoid a few people.” He shrugged.

“That’ll work.”

“Then it’s settled, we’ll go first thing tomorrow morning.” Tony smiled at you.

“Huh? Don’t you have one of those fancy businesses meetings to attend to?” You raised an eyebrow at him.

“Yeah, so?” He replied, “I decided to reschedule it. My niece comes first, business second.”

“Wow, I’m touched.” You put a hand on your chest in a dramatic way.

“You should be!” Tony sassed, “Imagine, the Tony Stark rescheduling his business meetings for his niece.” He began walking faster.

“Hey! Wait up for me your old geezer!” You shouted and ran to catch up to him.

“The hell did you just call me?”

When you had catched up to him, Tony quickly put an arm around your shoulder, placing you in headlock and ruffling your hair, looking like a chicken had ran on it, and you were laughing so hard. The last time that you had laughed this hard is back when you’re father was still alive.

You are happy.

Finally happy, and you pray that it won’t get taken away from you in just one blink of an eye.

warnings: ooc?? I haven’t written for him in two (?) years?? injuries, pain, angst, the usual.

They’re both victims of the same incompetence, in all honesty.

A father who lied to them both, and a mother...

She was complicit.

Thor hates admitting it. Loki can’t decide if it makes things better or worse.

Thor needs to go see him. He knows it’s what needs to be done, and will have to happen eventually, but every time he approaches room 203, he just keeps walking and promises to do it tomorrow.

They have...too much to discuss. It’s intimidating.

Thor finds it too easy to use Loki’s necessary healing as an excuse not to disturb him.

You’re the one who finally make him do it, open the door and actually talk to him.

You’re on a business trip—managing some project on international relations following the attack on New York, from what he gathers—and won’t be back for about a month.

“Don’t let him ruin his progress,” you told him the day you left. “Please.”

At that, Thor dredged up enough conscience to feel bad for letting you think he’s been visiting Loki every other day.

You’re proud of him. It’s a good feeling.

He doesn’t want to lose it.

So he smiled and promised to keep his brother company, keep him smiling and healing and that he’ll be in even better shape when you return.

You’ll be back in a week and a half now, and he has yet to cross the threshold.

It’s only after Cap, Tony, and the others come to a decision with the local authorities and task him with breaking the news to Loki that he finally goes to him.

Even still, he doesn’t know where to start.

Loki is on his stomach when Thor walks in, still bedridden and bleeding with exhaustion in his gaunt eyes when he meets his gaze from the doorway.

“Come to gloat?”

His voice is hoarse—missing the tease, the careless grin and sly plot that used to tinge his words. It makes Thor bare his teeth in a slight grimace, wanting to be angry with him, fingers curled tight around the handle of mjolnir.

“I’ve come to...talk.” He clears his throat and takes the first shaky step towards the hospital bed. “We have much to discuss.”

“Well, consider me intrigued.” Loki’s lips curl into a cruel smirk, even smushed into his pillow. “What could we possibly have to talk about?”

“Stop that,” Thor snarls, taking a few more sudden steps towards him. “Now isn’t the time for–for...for you.”

“Ah. In that case, please, pull up a chair.”

He does, glancing around the room. It’s drab, with just one window and a hint of sunlight peeking through the closed blinds. An untouched tray of food sits on the bedside table.

They sit there in silence for too long before Thor speaks.

“You’re a frost giant.”

Loki just gives a hollow laugh. “That’s where you’d like to begin?”

“He lied to me, too,” Thor says. “I thought you were my—I thought you were Asgardian. My whole life.”

“That must have been difficult for you.”

“I—I knew you were different,” he pushes on, electing to ignore that jab, “I could see that, but you...”

“You trusted Odin completely, didn’t you?”

Thor nods slowly. “He’s my father. I...still do.”

At that, his brother turns his head to stare at the wall instead of him. He cut his hair. It’s choppy against his neck—Loki couldn’t have done it himself, not with his shoulder in that state and still in a sling.

“Odin,” comes Loki’s hiss, “raised us to hunt frost giants.”

Thor straightens in his seat, frowning at the back of his brothers head. “He raised us to be warriors, wary of likely enemies.”

“He raised us to kill. He gave you the power to destroy their entire realm.” His head flips over on the pillow to reveal painfully bloodshot eyes, and he shoves a finger at the hammer in Thor’s hands. “Don’t tell me that was benevolence. He took their lifeforce, held a threat over their heads, and called it peace.”

Swallowing thickly, Thor’s gaze drops to the hammer. His next words are out before he can think better of them.

“And yet I wasn’t the one who tried to destroy their realm.”

Loki falls silent again, gaze burning into Thor’s, glistening, his jaw clenched tight. A vein near his temple bulges, and Thor wishes he could take it back. Wishes Loki hadn’t begged him to fight him, hadn’t let go all those months ago.

“Leave,” Loki chokes.

Thor clears his throat. “I came to tell you that the council has come to a decision on your sentence.”

“Leave,” Loki just says again, gathering the sheets in a shaking fist. “Get out.”

“Stark and the Captain spoke with Midgardian authorities, and they decided you must serve a sentence here before being turned over to Asgard.”

“Just passing me around, are you—”

“You broke the law,” Thor grits out, rising to his feet. “You killed people, you destroyed buildings, you tried to destroy an entire realm—”

“And I killed my true father,” Loki hisses, trying to push himself up on the hospital bed. “I abducted Clint Barton and made him kill for me. I let Jotuns into our palace on your coronation day, knowing they craved blood. I lied to Frigga, I stole the throne, I committed treason, I—”

“Then you see what must be done,” Thor cries, flinging a hand towards him. “You know you’re unstable, you need—you need help!”

“I wake up every single day,” he spits, heaving himself into a sitting position, “disappointed that I’m still breathing. I’ve tried to end it, I’ve tried it myself, I’ve even brought that–that mortal into it, and she couldn’t even kill me.”

“Oh, that’s an entirely different discussion—”

“So what is it?” Hunched forward with his arms hugging his knees, Loki stares at him. Those eyes are empty—Thor hoped to at least see pain in them. “What is my punishment? Am I to be executed, or are we saving that special event for Odin and Frigga?”

“Don’t,” Thor growls. His fist tightens around mjolnir. “They still protected you and raised you as their own. You owe them that much.”

Loki gives a hollow, rattling laugh. “Odin raised me like a prize boar for slaughter. He told me. He wanted to use me to unite our realms. I’m no better than the last empty treaty he wrote.”

“He spoke of us as equals,” Thor quietly argues. “Weren’t you happy? As a child? We...we had fun. I know we did.”

Loki swallows thickly, casting his gaze towards the ceiling.

I know we did. The two of them were inseparable, through every phase of their life. Thor’s friends were Loki’s, and the merry little group had centuries of adventures, victories, parties they shared with him. Frigga and Odin had loved the two of them as their sons, as their sons equally. He knows it.

“Can you even fathom your reality being a lie?”

Thor blinks, wishing Loki would look at him.

“No,” Loki laughs softly, “you can’t.”

Thor stands abruptly, knocking his chair over in the process. “You’ll lead a life of misery and disappointment,” he says, “if you keep thinking the worst of everyone. Especially yourself.”

Loki laughs again—it’s missing all humor. “Oh, fuck off.”

“Fine.” Thor stiffens, his jaw clenched painfully. “On behalf of Midgardian officials, you are sentenced to five years imprisonment and full responsibility for damages caused by your insurrection. After those years, you will return to Asgard with me for your trial.”

“Lovely. Looking forward to it.”

That’s the final straw—that, and how Loki closes his eyes and relaxes back onto his pillow, seemingly unbothered.

Thor surges forward with a snarl and grabs Loki by the shoulders, shoving him back against the pillows.

“You could at least pretend to regret this,” he seethes, giving his brother a good shake. “If you even gave our father half of an apology, an explanation, we could move past this.”

Eyes wide but jaw firmly set, Loki struggles against him, trying to wrench his injured arm from Thor’s grip. “Oh, please,” he grunts, “it’s been nearly a year since I came back from the dead. Neither of my so-called parents have expressed the slightest interest in seeing me.”

Thor’s grip tightens—Loki grits his teeth, biting back a whimper of pain as his fingertips dig into a barely scabbed wound.

“I wanted to apologize to you,” Thor admits, his chest heaving with the effort of holding Loki pinned. “But I don’t know if you even want that. Or deserve it.”

“Let go of me.”

He doesn’t.

Still writhing, Loki’s lips curl back, and he throws his head forward, bracing for the inevitable pain. His forehead hits Thor’s chin with a loud crack, and Thor staggers back with a shout—Loki’s not in much better shape, blinking rapidly to clear the spots that blur his vision.

“Five years,” Loki hisses, “is nothing to you and I.”

“Your true punishment will be from Asgard,” Thor replies harshly, a hand to his jaw as he stumbles towards the door. “Don’t get too comfortable.”

“Well, when we go home,” Loki spits, his hands shaking, “Maybe I’ll burn that place to the ground.”

Unwell (Fandom: Bones (tv show))

Yup, the mighty Temperance Brennan was sick. Takes place after Season 3, Episode 4.

I love banter-y ships. I wrote this fic 15 (!!!) years ago, but I remember getting a kick out of mixing banter and silliness with deeper conversations. Booth even reads Brennan a short section from a romance novel. :D It's been a while since I wrote Unwell, but I think I wanted to follow some loose threads in Bones and explore the emotional ramifications; fic is such a great place to do that. He's a candle (burning in my room) (Fandom: MCU)

It's just sex, isn't it? (Some talking + a lot of feelings + a smidgen of smut = this fic.)

This is a Steve/Tony fic, and it means a lot to me; I think it always will. There's a splash of body image issues, a dash of pining while fucking, and a ton of emotional vulnerability that's tied up in the sex, the build-up, and the afterglow.

My only sibling killed himself in February 2018; my dad died less than five months later; I started writing this story around three months after my dad's death. Life was a huge struggle, and so was writing, but I tried really hard to get down words, and I pushed myself with the imagery and the feelings. some words build houses in your throat (Fandom: MCU)

The night before they travel back in time, Tony says what he needs to say.

Someone anonymously sent me a "stevetony + confession" prompt in response to a three-sentence fic meme here on tumblr. This fic was my attempt to fill their prompt. It's a sort of missing scenes fic for Endgame. I was hungry for a little bit of team feels. I wanted Steve and Tony to both use their words AND try to behave like adults. Adulthood is complicated. We don't always get everything we want. Not all of our dreams and wishes come true. I wanted to play with honesty/revelation but also with restraint. And I really, really wanted Steve and Tony to quote parts of Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass to each other. So I wrote it. ;) I Barely Knew I Had Skin Before I Met You (Fandom: Timeless (tv show)

Sometimes love is found in unexpected combinations. Lucy wakes in the middle of the night to find one less man than there should be in her bed. [Set sometime in the future. Lucy, Garcia, and Wyatt are in a polyfidelitous relationship. Translation: the three of them are romantically involved and are faithful to each other. They also live together.]

As mentioned above, I have a weakness for banter. I wanted to write a story with a poly ship—Garcia Flynn/Lucy Preston/Wyatt Logan. I wanted banter, flirting, and domestic fluff, and I wanted discussions of grief and loss because I thought they made sense in the context of the show's canon. A few small scenes popped into my head, and I wrote toward and around them.

chat, intense spider man spoilers ahead i’m going to be neurodivergently ranting about the following movies:

-captain america: civil war

-spider-man: homecoming

-avengers: infinity war

-brief avengers endgame talk

it’s only the ones with heavy irondad+spiderson content because that’s all i care about okay here we go! hope you enjoy this red, i’m insane :)

starting with civil war:

this movie is moreso focused on the conflict between tony stark (aka iron man) and steven rogers (aka captain america) HOWEVER SPIDERMAN IS THERE!!! for like 20 minutes but CRUMBS PEOPLE ITS CRUMBS

peter parker (aka spiderman) shows up about halfway through because tony stark needs people to like… fuck shit up with him or whatever. there’s a war going on and they need people and spiderman is a person! so tony and peter officially meet and have a semi deep conversation and BOOM spiderman is official on team ironman. btw peter is about 15 at this time i think

there’s a lot of other lore in civil war pertaining to tony stark’s backstory and, eventually, his friendship with captain america completely crumbles and they’re very very big enemies

wooooo!!

okay next movie. spiderman homecoming :)

ITS PETER’S TIME TO SHINE!!! but not really… after the war between cap and ironman, spiderman is sorta shoved to the side. tony says he’ll call the kid when it’s time for another mission, but that time never really comes. so peter parker, a 15 (i think?) year old from queens, is doomed to be a friendly neighborhood superhero :( :( :(

but then!!!!!! peter starts picking up that something big is happening in queens… dangerous weapons are being transported around the city and peter parker is going to stop them 💪💪

and he tries. oh, does he try. and fail! a lot. there’s a couple of very good irondad moments as spiderman tries his best to complete this dangerous mission that, really, he should not be handling on his own.

the end of the movie is very chef’s kiss and i won’t spoil it in case you wanna watch but OH GOD it’s so good

the last two i’m gonna summarize briefly and without spoilers because i highly recommend you watch them. but here are the important details:

infinity war: the avengers have rejoined and have to fight the Big Bad Thanos who is trying to kill half the population in a single snap. this goes…. well, some type of way for spiderman and he spends a lot of time in space with iron man :)

endgame: the avengers try to fix what happened in infinity war and oh. pain. so much pain. oh my god i sobbed. it was so good tho. very little irondad rep but what is there is GOLD.

you're so mean talking to me about riverdale ending and acting like it's a good thing. it's a real loss for the cw community...well right now they're in the 50s for reasons i can't remember because the episodes are from last summer there was a comet last season and they forgot about the fact that they're from the present and so it's like a 50s au and it's very fun and there's a milkman killing people betty is always thinking about sex she and veronica almost kissed last week but they were interrupted jughead is writing horror comics and the principal's like you write about people getting murdered why do you want to murder people ethel's parents were murdered and people thought it was her she stayed at the sisters of quiet mercy for a while alice said betty's no longer her daughter archie's playing basketball and he also writes poetry we learned that last week what else reggie's on a basketball scholarship and lives with archie he misses his parents who are farmers toni and kevin's boyfriend clay have a book club for black students and cheryl didn't do anything last week she almost married archie but then she started dating toni because yeah she's a lesbian oh clifford's here he's not dead and he's awful as always cheryl has an evil twin named julian instead of jason he almost died but he survived reggie saved him and other bulldogs from drowning veronica owns a movie theater

Midnight Suns vs Characterization

So this is my views on the differences, just putting them down for reference considering I’m debating on making the Hunter & for Robbie. Probs touch base a little with the other characters in the game but it’s just me getting my thoughts out. The only storyline spoilers touched on is Johnny. Other is behind the scenes mention of things. So if ya wanna be fresh for the game pls don’t read. Unless you like spoilers then go to town. But there is no mention of major spoilers that exclude Johnny Blaze. Maybe a background spoiler on Peter.

Wanda’s story seems interesting to me, not sure about her disconnection with her brother & the lack of her kids though i suppose later on in comics that does happen. Nico i think is the closest to canon? Even maybe Blade’s story. though don’t quote me on that I'm not an avid Blade reader. Not really sure about the avengers side of it, i don’t read them anymore. Tony is the one with the most growth I’ve noticed? But if you do more than one playthru you lose it. Just for the fact the first five levels of friendship (and maybe 1 or 2 levels of the other form of friendship) carry over. So you miss out on most of his growth because you don’t get those scenes again.

Robbie, well Robbie mostly gets picked on? Literally when meditation comes up it’s said to empty your mind like Robbie’s head or what not in one conversation. o.0 Though I guess it’s nice to pick on someone within the team & Robbie doesn’t seem to mind but it just seems really odd because he’s really smart. He is stupid in the game when it comes to magic, considering he doesn’t have Johnny as a mentor (though the comics kinda went away from that too) it makes sense he couldn’t be well versed in it.

&& he’s a hardcore gamer? Like gaming while being a single parent is extremely hard. Especially if you have one job, you have to balance it perfectly & carefully so it doesn’t border on neglect. I mean it’s what I found because i’m a gamer & was a single parent.

Robbie, he balances school, a job, street racing & ghost riding. Like he literally has never gotten into a relationship bcuz raising his brother is his biggest concern. I guess if he played with his brother on off hours it could work but multiplayer games eat up more time, energy & money. It just seems to me that Robbie would put the money for gaming towards buying a wheelchair for Gabe as he mentioned what he can afford is the low rung. But I am extremely guilty of working for the ‘r’ us just to get a discount so i could game with my kiddo. Or waiting until taxes came around to actually buy games/systems i wanted when the kiddo was young & i still had custody. But i had to stay away from multiplayer games just to be able to stay focused on the kiddo.

I love the fact he does inventing with Peter, it is my favourite thing in game, that he gets to nerd out with Peter Parker & someone else later on. I mean there was a reference or easter egg to robbie racing Tony, which is amazing bcuz that is my favourite thing in the Avengers comics. which is just him asking about help with a wheelchair but i will take what i can get.

Robbie’s persona is mostly his Avengers run, but only if you weigh him down with like three weights of self doubt hanging around his neck at every turn. I mean yeah there was a few things that made him doubt things in comics, but that involved being magically controlled to kill innocents & his dreams about his own death. Which y’know would happen to most people.

The alteration to the ghost rider lore i'm kinda mixed/confused about. Robbie mentions his uncle was his nemesis. so it kinda ties it in with the fact he had never met Mephisto before. So I’m guessing his background he still didn’t sell his soul to become a ghost rider. But, instead of his car being the possessed thing, Robbie does infact have a spirit of vengeance inside of him. He names it Sparky. Which makes me crack up at it all the time.

That & the parchment seems to affect him while it didn’t with blaze? Blaze seems like this mashup between Johnny & Danny. Like they mixed together the harshness of how Johnny can be with Danny, Danny getting kicked out of being a Ghost Rider a few times & Johnny’s connection to carnie life.

Course Johnny being fired from it could be an assumption & he just got OLD and can’t change shape anymore. Maybe too much strain to his body?? He still has the increased leave a burning trail behind him thing and still can manipulate his shotgun. Infact Johnny seems to have all of the powers except for the bit about turning into a Ghost Rider (okay i have no idea of the penance stare so not all of them but he can do things you shouldn’t be able to do when you’re fired from being a ghost rider)

Johnny’s betrayal kinda backfires on him? Well i mean doubly so. He pissed of Robbie while doing it, mainly for the fact Robbie knows Hunter and the Solution Johnny finds or thinks he needs is really stupid for him as a chara. I will say him also betraying Robbie isn’t his fault, he was stupid about his agreement with Mephisto, which considering Johnny, that seems like a mistake he wouldn’t make. And considering some of the codex entries on Johnny or what comes up it’s a mistake he wouldn’t make. Though i guess anyone can have one of those absent minded ‘oh shit i shoulda thought of that loophole’ moment when dealing with a devil. On the other hand taking HUNTER TO MEPHISTO WITH A PART OF THE DARKHOLD NEARBY is painfully unsmart of Johnny. He just... ploop here have this being because they’re a danger to the existence of the world... >.> Johnny did you think things thru in this game??????? did the writers get hangry when they wrote you or just read the comic where Johnny’s not firing at all cylinders??
