i think, and this may just be my zekrom bias speaking, that if someone wants to experience the full value of bw's story it's better to play through white first. black has the issue of coming off as very dismissive towards plasma's legitimate and well-founded claims that pokemon abuse DOES occur (and it does! from the kanto games' marowak to bw2's liepard there's instances where it's put in the spotlight, so it certainly does happen)... by assigning the protagonist to truth, it feels pretty evident that n's beliefs are "wrong", and the game just seems to brush any questioning aside.
on the other hand, white giving n the hero of truth role means we're basically forced to think about what that means for the relationship of people and pokemon at large. to translate a point n makes in chargestone cave: if you allow people to coexist with pokemon, even if the majority of trainers treat them well, there will always be someone somewhere out there who abuses or neglects them instead. are we okay with that? should those pokemon still be allowed to suffer, just because what they experience is an outlier to the general rule? while not outright stated, zekrom's association with hope and the strive for the ideal suggests that we don't brush off these facts, but instead take them into consideration, and aim to change the world based off of them... like how in bw2 society in unova puts a lot more emphasis on the bond between people and pokemon, and on pokemon as equals (see: iris's dialogue before entering your team info the hall of fame).
i think black version has its own unique avenues to explore, but on the surface level, it's a much more cut and dry, "no, you're just wrong", type of story that kind of makes you work harder to fit it into bw's overall theming of "the world's not black and white, there's not a singular objective right or wrong perspective."

Zoom, Booze, no Doom The 3rd Year Anniversary
Hi everyone,
who would have thought?!
A great idea by @danceswithcows01 for the fandom to connect during complicated times. (And for those of us who had never actually watched more than gif sets from Holby City at that time. *cough cough*)
A weekly Saturday evening meeting of all of us who wanted to see our two favourite doctors being loveable idiots.
A decision to not just stop there, but to continue meeting up to chat and watch things. Silent Witness. Inspector Lynley. Doctor Who. The Grid. What The Butler Saw. Berena again. Christmas specials. Halloween specials. Eurovision Song Contests. And many more things.
It’s great fun. Something steady to look forward to. Kind of fandom changing even.
Long story short, I hope many of you will join in to celebrate
Three Years of Zoom, Booze, no Doom
next
Saturday, 1st April
at the usual time
Germany 9pm
UK 8pm
Wisconsin 2pm
We’re (finally) going to watch The Buddha of Suburbia with Jemma Redgrave.
So don your paper bags, dark sunglasses, disable your camera, or just work on your pokerface until then!
I’m looking forward to seeing you all - if you never ever took part in a Zoom so far and wonder if it is okay to join in for the anniversary celebrations? Of course it is! Everyone is welcome to join in.

...what mediocre jack black gay sex movie?
This one called the D-Train
They dont talk abt it in the trailer but jabdkf the plot twist is that jack black banged the cool actor guy and nearly ruined his marraige and lost his job because of it. The movie is v fascinating to me cause its not overtly Homophobic??? But the overall effect is homophobia, but it does it in a kind of compelling way and thats so funny to me. It comes soooo close to saying something interesting, but fails to do so because its conclusion is just so Weird and came out of left field (for me). So yeah its weirdly compelling in a "studying the psyche of a straight-but-not-homophobic white man whos coming to terms w being a normie" kind of way

Idk I saw someone be like Why do all the gay characters in Breaking Bad die 🤔 which like yea I guess all 2 of them do but it's sort of a weird thing to go for when nearly every major Breaking Bad character dies and one of the gay characters in question who dies is GUS. I think a better thing to bring up is how there are exactly 2 sympathetic characters of color with any significant screen time and she gets obliviously killed off for the purpose of furthering the character development of a white man and the other is a cop entirely secondary to a white character who I literally forgot about and who also gets killed off

Today, I am learning about Malcolm X, and the way he talks about white liberals really struck a chord with me.
I also found this quote from him about John Brown, a white abolitionist who went to war for his beliefs and helped push America towards civil war. I only learned about John Brown from my very racist AP US History teacher, Mr. Green, of Hampton Township, at Hampton High School, in D Hall, who lied to us and said the Civil War wasn't about slavery. And so this'll shock you, but I never learned about Malcolm X in school! Anyway, Malcolm X says:
“We need allies who are going to help us achieve a victory, not allies who are going to tell us to be nonviolent. If a white man wants to be your ally, what does he think of John Brown? You know what John Brown did? He went to war. He was a white man who went to war against white people to help free slaves. He wasn’t nonviolent. White people call John Brown a nut. Go read the history, go read what all of them say about John Brown. They’re trying to make it look like he was a nut, a fanatic. They made a movie on it, I saw a movie on the screen one night. Why, I would be afraid to get near John Brown if I go by what other white folks say about him.
But they depict him in this image because he was willing to shed blood to free the slaves. And any white man who is ready and willing to shed blood for your freedom—in the sight of other whites, he’s nuts. As long as he wants to come up with some nonviolent action, they go for that, if he’s liberal, a nonviolent liberal, a love-everybody liberal. But when it comes time for making the same kind of contribution for your and my freedom that was necessary for them to make for their own freedom, they back out of the situation. So, when you want to know good white folks in history where black people are concerned, go read the history of John Brown. That was what I call a white liberal. But those other kind, they are questionable.
So if we need white allies in this country, we don’t need those kind who compromise. We don’t need those kind who encourage us to be polite, responsible, you know. We don’t need those kind who give us that kind of advice. We don’t need those kind who tell us how to be patient. No, if we want some white allies, we need the kind that John Brown was, or we don’t need you. And the only way to get those kind is to turn in a new direction.”
