day 3 of taking levothyroxine (thyroid medication)

I feel like my fatigue and pain symptoms might slightly be improving? I still have swelling issues and many other symptoms but it’s only day 3 so hopefully those will also improve overtime.

I can’t say I’m positive that it’s the medicine but my face feels moisturized and healthy and not dry and patchy today. like my skin feels genuinely glow-y? which is cool.

and I had the energy to actually do a very light ten minute workout which is def an improvement considering a week ago I wouldn’t have been able to.

So I started taking meds for hypothyroid with every expectation that I would have more energy.

I fell asleep working repeatedly this past week and thus need to make up hours this weekend.

I fell asleep at 3pm Friday and didn't get up until 3pm Saturday. Then went back to sleep at 6pm and didn't wake up until 8:30 this morning.

Turns out a side effect of levothyroxine is "extreme fatigue". So fuck me, I guess.

Okay soooo for the first time in like forever I had two days off in a row. Actually more like 3.

Saturday I had labs 9-3pm but no work after

Sundays our clinic is now gonna be closed so no work for me.

So I crashed at 10pm on Saturday and didn’t get up until 11am Sunday. I don’t remember the last time I got more than 6 hours of sleep.

I don’t know if I was having a flare up or what was going but I just felt this wave of exhaustion most of Sunday. I’m still learning about Hashimotos and how exactly it affects me and what affects me. I don’t really know much, and my doctor didn’t really give me any info either.

I decided to call in sick today for clinical, I couldn’t see myself having the energy and Monday’s our ortho clinic is swamped.

I feel okay today. I got up at 9am and just had coffee and crepes.

The one thing I read is that I shouldn’t drink coffee within 2 hours of taking levothyroxine…… I’ve been waiting only the 1 hour, because you have to not eat anything for one hour after taking it. I just read that about the coffee. Great. There’s too many rules.

I have to catch up on hw today anyways, and I have a presentation tomorrow.

I need to see if my doctor will see me this week as I could really use a doctors note for missing my clinical today, otherwise I lose 2% off my grade. Which is stupid really.
