good morning, i am one of your students in [insert class here]. please reconsider the grade you gave me for [insert assignment here]. i understand i turned it in late and you don’t accept late work but my [family member] was literally getting fucking brain surgery. i think you can make an exception just this once.

I'm too tired to write this paper.

Don't get me wrong, I have an amazing topics that I'm passionate about, that I've written about before, and that is overall just a very neat topic that aligns amazingly well with my interests.

However, I did just type "re-extinction" when I meant to type "de-extinction" and it made sense to me at the time (my brain went yes, these two things are in fact the same, and it wasn't even that I didn't notice that what was supposed to be a "de" was in fact, a "re")

So I'm out here trying to seriously discuss the ecological impacts of reintroducing the Wooly Mammoth and my brain goes yes, let's imply the presence of something that has been brought back from extinction going extinct again.

Also if anyone anytime ever has questions about de-extinction, you know who to ask. I might (might) be able to answer them.

This year, I want to actually start doing the things I want versus just keep saying I'll do it in my head. I want to be able to create things, have fun, make mistakes, laugh at myself and just enjoy the journey rather than stressing myself out and pressuring myself to be perfect and successful. I want to give myself the permission to fail, to rest, to do nothing, to be silly, and to just be me.

So, starting now lol. I always say I want to blog about my days on here since I love reading about other people's days.. sooo here I go....

I had a class at 8am which I was dreading because I only got 3 hours of sleep all because I'm a night owl, but luckily I was able to wake up in time and I ran to pick up my banana bread from Starbucks because I am obsessseedddddddd with those things!! It's pretty much all I eat for breakfast before my 8ams (this is my first semester where I've had 8am classes... definitely not a fan)

My Spanish class was at 8am and it wasn't too bad so yay, but best believe I went back to my room and took a nap for the rest of the day and then I woke up to go to my next class which was really nice because he made us brainstorm at least 10 ideas in 10 mins and I actually came up with some and a few of them I kinda like and feel like I could make it into something. But I can definitely sense that I have trouble actually coming up with conflicts and things that happen in the story but either way proud of myself for at least starting and brainstorming.

I went to a club meeting after my class at 10:30pm and it was sooo niceee seeing all of their cute facesss and one of them had free Mcdonalds for us and i wanted to cry 😭😭bc free food is the best thing everrrr and I hadn't eaten any dinner before, so those nuggets and fries were extra needed. But yea it was nice being with everyone again and I got to catch up with some of them after the meeting and hear about whats going on in their life.

Well this ended up being much longer than I thought it would be lol. But that pretty much sums up my day. I don't really have any pictures from today but maybe I'll just include quotes for now.

Okay, look, I've been in college for two years and my Biology professor has pretty significantly rooted this educational science game called Labster into her course.

I was not expecting to be playing Portal all day for school.

Yeah, this is a full, 360 sci-fi free roam lab environment that you can pretty much do whatever you want in. You know those cruddy flash game experiments you used to do in middle school? Those are a thing of the past.

And check this: the entire lab is being run by this super cool AI droid named Dr. One

She floats around and directs you around the lab depending on the lesson you're taking and sounds eerily similar to GLaDOS. It turns out that Dr. One also has a lore page and that she was created originally for "unethical purposes."

Also, this environment is extremely detailed and even runs shaders and ambient occlusion in your web browser.

That's pretty nuts, considering the only time we ever see these things are built into genuine video games, not a web browser lab. It runs incredibly smoothly on my GTX 1050.

This is insanely impressive and I actually enjoyed my homework today. 10/10, would play this in my free time.
