i watched the whole show in the course of about 36 hours just about two weeks after the finale had aired, in february 2022! i joined bbs fandom on twitter soon after and have been there ever since, but i’ve only really been interacting on tumblr in the last few months

C, you've no idea the can of worms you just opened, I get so weird about this stuff and I straight up cannot form thoughts right now because my brain decided to go stupid for some reason so-

Ok, trying to write this one again because what I was going to send looked like word vomiting, I wasn't joking with my brian going stupid. Y'know that feeling when you want to say a lot but the words won't come out so you just feel dizzy and like you might throw up? That but like in a good way, like I'm having butterflies but in the brain. Anyway.

So your poem was about internet and online friends, I started thinking about relationships and how you can love people without faces and that reminded me of Her (2013), a movie about a dude that falls in love with his universe's Siri/Alexa with whom he starts to develop a wholesome and cute relationship.

And then there's the song Computer Boy by Poppy, where she falls in love with an AI (back when AIs were cool, when they were just a concept for people to go insane and write fiction about and not an actual thing that kills art) and it's basically a silly reference to online dating and I just love it.

But Poppy's character (she's a character) started with the concept of a girl who wanted to be internet famous, except she was actually an AI/robot created only and specifically to be famous (a critique of the music industry) and she actually lived ON the internet, like that was her house. There's just so many things about her- actually, there's this FANTASTIC youtube essay about her that explains everything better than me and since you seem to like her- here

Then The Machine is about so SO many things, in this specific instance I meant like the humanization of machines; when they develop consciousness, empathy and feelings and where does that leave us, how different are they from us and we from them? Can a human and a machine fall in love? Have a connection?

New Flesh is technically horror, technically transhumanism; when the human and the mechanical combine, it's about the morphing and transformation of our bodies with the coming of the future, if we're not our bodies what are we? Can we even be considered humans without one? New Flesh is all about the relationship between human/body and machine and you comparing dna with codes made me think of that when writing in the tags before going "what does this have to do with anything?" but yeah man-machine, I remember now.

Basically, your poem reminded me of loving people that don't have a physical and/or human body, I went "awww, they're in love with the computer, with the robot :3" and related it with other things that don't have that much in common but whom I'm obsessed about.

It took so long to formulate this, I short circuited for a while. I'm normal now (lie). Hope this makes at least a little bit of sense and I don't sound out of my mind.

So knowing that I'm a huge Bendy fan and love some good angsty fanfic with body horror, it may surprise you to hear that I'm not actually a big horror fan. Yeah, I can't do horror movies, I don't engage in most horror games, this is literally my one thing, save for a little bit of FNAF in regards to Security Breach and Ruin.

If I think back, it's been that way for a while. When I was a kid, we went to Disney's Hollywood studios, and our family of five rode the Tower of Terror together. Now, I love yo-yo styled rides, up and downs are some of my favorites. But I hated this. The story scared me so badly, and on that day there was a thunderstorm in the forecast, it was stupid levels of scary. I refused to ever go on it again until this year. Yeah, when we went on our trip this summer, my brother in law really wanted to go on it, so all seven of us gave it a shot. I was a big wimp the whole time. X'''D I turned away from the screen during the preshow and let one of my sisters hide her face in my shirt while covering her ears. I learned something very valuable! If I can't see the horrors, it's not so scary! Audio alone doesn't get me. But I did need to cover my eyes multiple times to not see the ghosts. My brother in law was really amused when he was holding his wife's hand in a cute couples way on one side, and mine in fear on the other. Laughed the whole time. We had a great time. I also wasn't bad on the Haunted Mansion anymore. Yeah, I was so scared of sitting alone on that, but nope, I rode it twice all by myself, and it was fine, I'd dare to say I liked it.

I think back to my teenage years, and oh boy, my friends sure did like scary stuff. One of them had a birthday on Halloween, so we went on a trip to a haunted house together. I stayed in the back because I didn't like being scared. That was a weird day in general, I remember thinking one of the animatronics in it looked like one of our professors who was kind of a garbage teacher? And I pointed it out to my best friend, and she laughed. Oh, there was the birthday someone made us watch DHMIS. Yeah I cannot look at that, nope, we block out everything related to that, I can't do it. That friend didn't know me as well, so I don't blame her so much, but a heads up that it was scary would have been nice. More than I can say for how I got introduced to FNAF.

Gosh let me tell you THAT story, it's kind of a doozy. I had an ex-friend who was a big Markiplier fan, and one day he and my bestie came over, and he insisted we watch the new Markiplier episode together. He had already seen it and knew what was coming, but I sure didn't. It was the first episode of his Let's Play of Five Nights at Freddy's, the very first game. We were seniors in high school, and I was very sensitive to horror. This friend knew that and showed it to me anyway. After the first Foxy jumpscare, I was done. I couldn't walk in the dark without swearing I saw Freddy out of the corner of my eye for like two months. But the worst part was, this had been looked up on MY YouTube account, and back then, YouTube didn't have the option to say "don't show me this" or "don't recommend me this". So for months I was stuck with recommendations for FNAF, most of which had thumbnails featuring Bonnie's jumpscare. I was dead set against FNAF for YEARS, hated it with a passion because I couldn't reasonably block it out. Which is why I'm grateful for more self curating tools on YouTube and Tumblr nowadays, and why I'm so appreciative when people bother to tag things.

It's because of that bad experience with FNAF that I was very hesitant to get into Bendy. I knew it was horror from the start, and my friends who were into it were also big into FNAF. But with all their icons changed to the Bendy face, I was curious, I needed to know. The art style intrigued me, I liked cartoons a lot, I wanted to know what this was. What really solidified it was hearing Can't Be Erased for the first time over a Discord call and then looking up the music video for myself. That and Build Our Machine had me hooked, so I watched a friend play through the first two chapters, and I found myself on a journey to dig into it myself. Sammy and Alice would proceed to steal my heart, and let me tell you, the anxiety I felt when Chapter 5 first dropped, the wait to see what happened, oh gosh did I need someone to hold my hand. One of my friends stuck with me through a playthrough of the chapter over a call, and bless her, I was such a mess. X'''D I can say that Dark Revival did not have me shaking with anxiety the whole time thankfully. The Bendy books have given me a similar rush though, I was so haunted by DCTL and TLO on a first read through. Like I knew it would end badly, but the how and why of it kept me curious.

The thing is, the only horror I really engage in is a little bit of indie mascot horror, but not all of it. Some of it I don't find particularly engaging. I've got little interest if there isn't much of a story, and I'm rather particular about what kinds of stories and presentation I like. But I like this little slice of horror, it's enough. Like you would think Poppy Playtime would be up my alley, given my love of toys and dolls, but no, it's not. Haunted dolls don't really do it for me I've discovered, maybe I ought to write a story that does. I like My Friendly Neighborhood, which I know, isn't very scary, but it sure did spook me with opening lockers. I think, it's okay if I'm not into most horror things, I have a few small things I like, and that's more than fun enough. I just acknowledge that this probably surprises people given some of what I love. X'''D

Getting To Know Your BL Mutuals

I was tagged by @gunsatthaphan thank you so much! I've never done one of these before, but it seems fun.

So here I go. rules: answer the questions and @ some people. include the tag 'g2ky BL mutuals 2022' on your post so we can find everyone's answer.

What have been the BLs that took you by surprise this year?

1. Between Us - I had to drop UWMA because I couldn't handle how hard Pharm was playing into the Blushing Maiden trope. Boy really just looked like he did not enjoy the physical part of their relationship at all, and it made it uncomfortable to watch. Also the reincarnated soulmate tragic death bit was just not doing it for me. I was afraid Between Us would be more of the same, BUT IT'S NOT! It's actually really good so far and Win and Team have explosive on screen chemistry. I guess all the work Boun and Prem have done together since 2019 has really paid off!

2. Old Fashion Cupcake - Mostly because I'd never heard of it. It just showed up on my Viki recommendations one day and was exactly what I was in the mood for. As always with Japan, the production values are perfect, the cinematography is excellent, and the acting was brilliant. I also loved seeing a romantic lead who was 39. (I'm 46, so it's nice to see representation nearer my age!)

3. My Only 12% - I generally dislike High School BLs because their characters are younger than my sons and it's hard for me to relate unless their acting is surprisingly good. And that's what happened here! SantaEarth knocked it out of the park. I laughed with them, cried with them, oooed and awed with them. They really made me feel it all!

What have been the BLs that you felt a bit a lot disappointed with this year?

1. Check Out - I mean, episode 0 was killer. How did they drop the ball this badly???

2. Coffee Melody - It started out with pretty production values and made me hope everything would be equally as excellent. But it was just so boring.

What has been your favorite BL this year?

Hard call! I think I have to answer this by country because they all approach BL so differently. Also only addressing shows that started airing in 2022, so that automatically removes Bad Buddy and Not Me from the running.

Japan - Old Fashion Cupcake. See above!

South Korea - Semantic Error. I was afraid of the bullying plot, but when I watched it, it just seemed funny. They somehow struck that magic balance of making Jae Young irritating and attractive without being an actual asshole. Plus I loved the excellent production values, tight plotting, hilarious dialog, Yu Na being a hot af bisexual babe, and the excellent kissing game our leads brought to the screen.

Thailand - Kinnporsche the Series. I liked the way they improved so much of the gross from the books so the story made more sense and wasn't as offensive. But I really enjoyed the excellent cinematography, the acting from literally every cast member, and the distinctly Thai humor. It's also obviously very big budget and just LOOKS expensive, you know? Like something I'd see on American or Korean TV. Even the violence looks real, which is something Thailand usually has a very hard time pulling off. Plus the cast is just so pretty. I'm also a huge sucker for darker narratives, so it was refreshing to see one mixed in with so many fun BL tropes. I expected to be massively disappointed by this drama and was pleasantly surprised instead.

Favorite BL couples (not just of 2022)?

Actors or characters? I want to answer actors because that's more fun to me.

1. I am forever indebted to MaxTul because I really needed to see their steamy physical chemistry back in 2018. My intro to BL happened when I stumbled upon Advance Bravely on YouTube. It was so much fun to see fanfic tropes between two men! But the ending was wonky AF because of Chinese censorship. So I asked around on Tumblr for more manly men doing fanfic shows, and found out that BL was a whole Thing and the epitome of manliness was in Together with Me. Was the girlfriend plot obnoxious? Yes. Did MaxTul deliver believable chemistry anyway? Yes. If I hadn't seen them, I probably would have given up on BL because the next few I watched didn't do it for me at all (Love Sick, Sotus, Puppy Honey, Kiss Me Again). But because I knew couples like MaxTul were out there acting their hearts out, I made it through my BL dryspell and into 2019 and shows that I actually did love (like Theory of Love and Deep Blue Kiss).

2. Offgun because they clearly enjoy each other's company, they're in it for the long haul, and their fans aren't rabid shippers. Gun's acting was always leagues beyond his co-stars, but Off has completely risen to that challenge and become formidable in his own right. I also adore how Gun has clearly melted Off's heart over the years. Watching his real life evolution from being touch averse to actually initiating physical intimacy with Gun over the years is like watching a slow burn 140k+ word fanfic unfold right in front of me. I think their fans not straying into delusionally obsessed crazies is also a sign that they're good guys managing their coupledom like pros.

3. FirstKhao because they surprised me so much with The Eclipse. I knew they were decent actors on their own, but together they're 🔥🔥🔥. Also I really enjoy their personalities outside of their performances. I am excited they decided to cobrand, and I am hoping to see more stellar acting from them in the future!

What's your non-BL favorite this year?

Oooo. This is hard! Do I answer based on how many times I re-watched a 2022 show, or how high quality I think it was, or how well I rated it?

Sh**ting Stars wins if we're talking about the number of times I re-watched it. It's a no drama romcom from South Korea. A celebrity and his PR manager have been frenemies for a decade then realize they're in love. It's got killer banter and good side characters, is laugh out loud funny, has no annoying tropes, and has 5 side couples (and you will root for all of them).

But based on acting and script and cinematography? My Liberation Notes knocked it out of the park! It's a slice of life South Korean drama. 3 siblings in their 30s feel stuck by life. The youngest decides to liberate herself from disliking everyone by choosing to like a nameless stranger unconditionally. This is the story of the ripple effects from that one decision.

Webtoon and how to fake it.

As you may be aware I have a webtoon. A relatively popular one I guess? Multiple times a week on different webtoon communities people ask how to get views. I, as an expert, am here to learn you a thing.

Obviously you need to have a comic, but I'm potentially talking to people that already do. The best advice I have for the actual comic is post consistently. You can post once a month. bi monthly. Every week. Whatever just make sure you keep a schedule and a buffer.

This spread sheet of my subs, views and notes about that month. The first few months I didn't keep notes so they're guesses.

There's barrier to entry that is skill and effort put into it but I mean I don't have much of those and I still get by.

While I was furiously making my first few updates I watched every youtube "how to webtoon" out there and followed a few. I joined some discords and am now up to 4.

I started interacting with the webtoon canvas twitter in April. Shortly after first posting.

Including participating in their art challenges or answering their questions. It is of my opinion that got me their eye and thus promotion. I still respond at least once a month. The promotions definitely help, but as you can see it doesn't mean they will stay.

June was a summer coins event like the one currently running but it had even more comics to pick from. I never actually saw my comic there and for a few weeks had no idea why I suddenly got a boost but someone finally told me.

I participate in some romance book communities including those that specialize in monster romance. So I got some promotions from there.

Sub4sub doesn't get you readers. Make art for creators you like and make friends. Creators who genuinely like your work and do work like you are more likely to help you find your audience. Besides on webtoon you can't seen see who subs to what do what good does that idea even do?

I comment on webtoon youtubers. I comment on webtoon reddit. I post thirst traps on tumblr. I started posting more on tumblr in general(and forgot everything I ever cared about.). I started posting these chars on tiktok and and ended up making a comic because literally one person asked. I could probably do more and do better but I do a lot of art and sometimes time is limited.

No matter what you make there's some community out there you can participate in. Make fanart for things like your comic and post it everywhere related. Tag it on general social media sites. etc. Post it on other sites like Tapas, Global Comix, etc. You can do them all but I only really do global comics because formatting is boring.

Also just got on bluesky and making myself their problem.

The Halloween promotion was the biggest push and that's not necessarily luck but demon guy=Halloweeny.

There was a noticeable drop at the time they got rid of the reward program. March 2023 being the end of it. I don't know if/how that was related but it seems true for other people too.

And uh that's the end I guess. Basically here's every reply to every time someone asks how to popular.

currently watching: I usually prefer movies to TV series, because I am too impatient. I'm watching walking dead with my friend and sometimes turn on x-files when I'm in the mood for it. I also would count fnaf-related content on YouTube because I consume shameful amount of it and for me it is also not real. Fnaf got everything: rags-to-riches storyline with its creator, massive quality drop with games' plot, crazy and creepy fans, batshit theories and decent critiques, what's not to love?

currently reading: I read "The Satanic Verses" by S. Rushdie, despite the name it really doesn't have anything to do with Satanism, at least in the way that you would expect. It is a very controversial novel and it's Japanese translator even got assassinated for doing his job. Russian translator preferred to stay anonymous and the story of how this translation got to be is also crazy. So far I haven't done too much progress with it, because on every page there's like 20 commentaries about all the references to Indian, Islamic and British cultures in this book. The novel itself is 558 pages long (on my ipad), but with commentaries it is 2117 pages long. I really enjoy it for now! It takes obvious inspiration from Bulgakov's "The Master and Margarita", which is one of the best works of russian/soviet literature imo.

current obsession: I have more free time than ever for the last couple of years, so I'm just looking for ways to fill it. I entertained the idea of coding myself an Internet diary or something, but then I remembered that post button exists on tumblr, so now I try to be less of a lurker more of a poster, I just hope that staff won't fuck it up, because I can't overestimate how much i love that people post literally whatever here. I also want to take photos on film, but the camera that I ordered won't come in at least 2 weeks, so I'm more obsessed with the idea of film photography than the actual thing for now

Okay idk if this sounds ridiculous but I've literally had these reactions for years and I wanna know if this is relatable or just a really weird Tam thing. So when I'm really into a property, like a show or a film, whatever, I tend to react in a REALLY weird way when I see things related to that property. Most often my heart rate increases suddenly, I get really warm and super sweaty (especially on my hands), I start getting wobbly/shaky, and I get kind of twitchy and jumpy, have to bounce my leg or tap my foot for example. It's super similar to what happens to my body when I'm nervous or scared.

So for those reasons, when I'm super into something I have trouble looking up videos about it or reading excessively about it. I have to do these weird acrobatics to look up stuff without directly looking them up? Almost so it won't set off those weird body reactions? So for example if I wanted to watch a youtube video about a character from a show I liked, I find it hard to just type in "character name" in the search bar and go from there. No, instead I have to type in something RELATED to the character's name, or go to a playlist containing that character, some typing indirect like that. Or I'll look through a generalised grouping (ie FB fan group, video compilation, book etc) that might include that thing so I can wait and see if it'll pop up. Otherwise I get all sweaty and buzzy. I can only do the simple "character name" search if I amp myself up beforehand or prepare myself but even then my heart just goes nuts. I also find I can't just jump into a property's tag on tumblr/ig/twt and like/RB everything bc it gives me those anxious feelings to an even stronger degree. Sometimes my boyfriend goes through tags and shows me everything in the tag, but I start burning out/getting overstimulated(?) almost and need to stop

My bf said that maybe this happens because I have anxiety and my brain is just equating those strong excited feelings with strong scared/anxious feelings and making me experience the same symptoms. I think this could be why but I literally don't know bc I don't know anyone else who's ever had this reaction to things they like. And this has happened to me since I've been at least 12 or so!! I think it's why I struggle to be active in fandom-only spaces, especially when it involves having to go out of my way to search up tags rather than having things appear on my dash

Anyway just wanted to know has anyone else in the history of time EVER had these same reactions or am I just riddled with anxiety to a disturbing degree

Hey guys! I hope you're doing well, I'm officially back from my break, honestly I felt really bad blogging for personal reasons, but hey, here I am to start again here on tumblr with a tag game!💕🥰

1.- Could you summarize the content of your Tumblr?

My content regularly varies (I think that's my big problem), but if I could sum it up it would be Simblr, 2000s, Random Stuff and Other Games

2.-What inspired you to upload content?

The first thing I did when I entered Tumblr was to search for things about Simblr, and there I found the fabulous @simstralia, I swear guys, I am very fascinated by seeing Simstralia's blogs, their photographs and their way of telling stories seem super cute and interesting! I also usually get a lot of inspiration from my favorite youtubers Cukizilla, Jaiden Animations, Let me explain studios, Danna Alquati, La Divaza, Civer and others haha 💕💗

3.- Would you change your content in the future?

Not at the moment, but I am thinking of dedicating myself entirely to abandoning simblr and uploading content related to Stardew Valley and South Park in the future.

4.- Do you have in mind some blogs that you want to do?

If haha I have several among them they would be: A blog of the Vmas (By the way, are you going to see the vmas this year? Honestly, I prefer to wait for the grammys, since there is nothing interesting, unless something happens) , The blog of the custom universities I'm doing, the blog of my Alpinloch custom hood and possibly an outfit Lookbook.

3. How often do you reach for a synonym dictionary when writing? how about mentally? Literally every single time I write even a sentence. While writing replies in separate documents because I’ve been burned far too many times on losing posts trying to write direct replies on tumblr, I almost always have some kind of thesaurus tab open because my brain gets so picky about alliterative word choices or better descriptive words for things and suddenly I can’t remember a single word I’ve ever learned.

5. Do you listen to music while your write?

Abso-fuckin-lutely. There honestly isn’t much I do in life that doesn’t come with a soundtrack; I literally listen to music all the time. Writing is no different and it’s almost always thread mood related or specific character playlists. Sometimes I even combine ambient like YouTube world sounds while also playing music but sometimes it can be too overstimulating. Classical or melodical music is required some days so I don’t focus on lyrics instead of words I’m writing but like most of these answers; it all just depends on who I’m writing for or for what. 11. When you are writing a reply, how much ahead in the thread do you plan?

Usually? Not very far. In a very Doctor Strange kind of way, I envision a lot of possible scenarios or overall outcomes of how different actions could lead to the thread going in various directions but I never make full decisions for my characters ahead of time. It’s pretty organic character choices and emotions in the moment of a reply where I feel like I’m just the conduit with no real control and whichever character I’m writing for is in the driver’s seat at the time.

14. What do you do after you see a person has replied? Do you read it immediately, or do you wait for it to show up on the dash? Do you like it, draft it immediately, etc.?

I am a literal kid in a candy store; I get so excited to read replies and things that people write for me whether I’m tagged in headcanons, meme replies, drabbles or whatever about our character relationships and dynamics. I’m an instant gratification bitch and read it immediately whether I’m at home on my computer or out in public on my phone. I’m reading it as soon as it is posted. If I’m on mobile, I’ll usually like the post to remember to come back to it. If I’m on my computer I usually send it to drafts right away to try and keep track of everything. I should learn to use thread trackers because I feel like I lose and forget everything all the time though it’s a really bad system lol. 19. How many drafts is a paralyzing amount?

Lately? Apparently owing anyone anything at all is enough to send my anxiety into a tailspin because I just really struggle with creative energies when so burnt out from work and real life. I find I tend to not even want to log in even around 6-10 drafts because I can find it hard to feel like I even do a good job with a single reply in a matter of hours and it’s probably something I owed from months or years ago. I truly always feel like an awful writing partner because I’m really hard on myself for not being able to just CRANK out replies like my brain once did and that is usually pretty defeatist in itself for me. 20. If you are writing a wrong reply that’s not working out, do you save what you have to be continued at another date, or do you scrap it and rewrite?

It depends on how mad I get with myself? I will sometimes write up incoherent lines or parts of lines I like and leave them to come back to; I generally write in a pretty stream of consciousness way and I’m not sure what that says about me. But there are more than enough times I scrap everything because I re-read it and I’m like what are you even trying to say right now you pretentious bitch? Or it just feels so bland and robotic like a first grader wrote it. I’ll delete the whole page. 24. What’s your thought process when you format? any unspoken rules you follow?

I can’t format worth a fig. I sometimes get really overwhelmed by the graphics side of tumblr rp because so many people are so talented and proficient with fancy formatting things and I really don’t care about my own and feel really outdated and obsolete for only writing in simple text. Paragraph/grammar rules form and trying to use smaller fonts and being really plain is what allows me to just write to be able to write but there’s definitely no rules. I’ve really been trying to let myself be okay with going icon-less and JUST writing but I never know what other peoples’ judgments or perceptions are because I don’t do anything icon or graphics related. I’m pretty rudimentary? Like even carrd? Seems super cool, always get too frustrated to learn to do it myself and here we are!

The Gifted Child Syndrome is Real with this One...

*Rubs hands together in preparation for some juicy data and in-depth analysis of the typical member of the DTeam Tumblr community*

Ooooooooh boy! Here we go!

I want to start of by thanking you guys for over 400 responses to the demographics survey! Y’all have no idea how much I appreciate it! We have so much to cover, so I’m going to divide up different sections of the survey into several posts to make it more digestable and do justice to each topic explored in the form! We’re going to start of with, you guessed it, personality types!

Strap yourself in because we’re about to thoroughly dissect your sub-conscious innerworkings and find out how the typical DTeam Tumblr Fan thinks! (And judging by the majority personality types, you guys will probably enjoy it)

The Delicious Data

From the 449 responses we received, this is a pie chart displaying the personality types of all respondents.

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m sensing a tiny difference here... Oh, right!

INxx’s on the Loose!

It’s funny. When I first found one of the 18+ DTeam fan servers through Tumblr, I asked everyone what their personality type was. I was pleasantly surprised when a lot of them told me they were INFPs like me!

It actually reminded me of MatPat’s (Game Theory) survey for one of his Life Is Strange theories that found the majority personality there was also INFP...

Funny enough, can you guess what the second leading personality on that survey was? The third? The fourth?

You probably guessed it right. MatPat found that out of the fans who responded, the leading majority was INFP while INTPs came in second, INFJs came in third, and INTJs came in fourth. The exact order for the personality types in DTeam Tumblr.

But why is it that some of the rarer personalities of the world are dominating DTeam Tumblr or Game Theory’s fanbase? What is it about these communities that attract the rare introverted Intuitive Perceivers (INxP) and Intuitive Judgers (INxJ) of the world like magnets?

The Gifted Kid Syndrome

To answer this question, first we have to examine our leading personalities. As we can see from the data, INFPs and INTPs make up 55.6% and INFJs and INTJs make up 17.8% of the total respondents. That’s nearly 3/4′s of the DTeam Tumblr population made up of INxx types!

Now, here’s me calling y’all out.

A lot of you probably relate to the quiet kid sitting at the back of the classroom who’s put into some type of TAG, gifted program, or some authority figure has probably called you smart and/or “gifted” at some point in your life. Academics probably came easy to you at one point, maybe they still do.

You’ve probably felt your chest swell up at the shower of compliments about your intelligence and at another... you’ve probably felt like people put you in a pedestal and overrate you so you’re stuck with this inherent fear of failure, and it causes you to completely shut down when the things that came easy to you at one point no longer do so.

It’s gifted kid syndrome hitting you like a brick to the face. And if it hasn’t yet, oh you’re in for a surprise, honey.

And I’m sure many of you have come across funny, relatable posts like this:

And you want to know why most of you relate?

No. You’re not hallucinating. It’s not even a joke at this point. It feels true because it probably is true.

(Granted, the study that captured similar results to this graph is long lost to the internet, but the best source I found with it was a reddit post I will be citing in the reblog.)

Now, my next point is where we find a split.

INFPs and INTPs and their Need to Question Everything (even if it’s about one sentence [insert creator here] said that one time during a 4-hour long stream)

The strongest connection I found between the two leading personalities of DTeam Tumblr is they share Extraverted Intuiting (Ne) as their auxiliary cognitive function.

I’ll use a quote that explains Ne better than I could ever explain it in my own words:

“Extraverted intuition or Ne is very much focused on patterns and making connections from information they gather... Ne dominant users enjoy being able to explore things in a much more open manner, not wanting to feel closed off to the possibilities around them... They are also highly imaginative people, who enjoy being able to come up with unique hobbies and experiences... They are not afraid of imagining things which seem almost impossible to others... [For INFPs,] Ne is what creates this detailed and incredible thoughts process which keeps them busy for long periods of time.”

And another:

“Auxiliary Ne manifests in people constantly questioning the world around them, but unlike ENxPs, they can be more pick and choose about this. But generally, they don’t take people, things and events at face value.“

Now, think about the community you’re in right now. Think about the post you’re reading at the moment.

DTeam Tumblr is full of over-analysis posts, whether about Dream and George’s secret love for each other or about the inherent problems with Dream’s shipbait and gay jokes or theories about what’s going to happen next in the dream SMP lore and the dramatic betrayals and creator’s descend into madness and more theories about sexuality and charts depicting creator’s personalities and what they’d be likely to do in different scenarios and... ooof, I’m out of breath here. You get my point.

DTeam Tumblr is literally a group of ex-gifted or gifted introverted people who love to read or write analysis, theory, and discussion posts about sweaty Minecraft Youtubers because they’re probably too overwhelmed by real life and find joy in obsessing over “dumb” things.

That’s it. That’s literally the post. I might as well end there.

But I won’t.

Because obsessions is exactly what I want to focus on next.

The Inherent Nature of the INFP and their “Micro-Obsessions”

This is me having a one-to-one conversation with all my INFPs reading this.

Do you sometimes just set your mind on a goal--like, let’s say, writing a book--and you spend so much time obsessing over it to the point where you burn out and suddenly it never sees the light of day because you move onto your next goal or obsession because now you’re getting ready to launch your freelance website so you can start a business on [insert new hobby here]?

Or do you just suddenly find a fandom or a show or a channel you really enjoy and you spend the next few months doing nothing but engaging with it and reading fanfiction and drawing fan art or making dumb analysis posts on your main Tumblr account where suddenly you get an influx of followers from that community and now people are expecting you to just post about MCYT!?

Oh, sorry, I got a little carried away at the end there...

Anyhow, my point is, do you ever develop an obsession over something all the sudden only for it to just disappear when you find something new or just fall into the deep crevices of your mind only for it to maybe reemerge a few years later after you get a deep sense of nostalgia remembering it?

I call them micro-obsessions. And I recently found out, I’m not the only one who does this!

Here’s another quote for you:

“According to Carl Jung’s theory of cognitive functions, when an INFP makes a decision, Ne comes in second to another process known as Introverted Feeling (Fi). Fi does not use logic to make a decision. It uses how we feel about the decision according to our values. In other words, it asks, “Which choice feels right for me?”

Ne, on the other hand, craves new ideas and experiences to explore, which causes INFPs to always be on the lookout for something novel.

Unfortunately, INFPs can get stuck in a loop, going back and forth between their Ne and Fi. They search to understand their values by constantly trying new things. They ask themselves, “Does this feel right?” then throw it over their shoulder as they move on to something else.”

So, you’re probably asking right about now, Light, how the heck does any of this have anything to do with the Dream Team and MCYT!?

Well, my friend, it has EVERYTHING to do with the Dream Team and MCYT and DTeam Tumblr as a whole.

Because INxx’s are predisposed to end up in places like this--fandoms on Tumblr, channels that speculate whether Mario is evil, watching dramatic Minecraft smp wars and elections as opposed to looking at the news that depicts Murphy’s Law as 2020′s new favorite epigram.

The introvert in them causes them to prefer socializing in small communities online where they’re not forced to engage in conversations if they don’t want to or put into uncomfortable situations where they have to talk to that one friend of their friend who wants to make meaningless small chat.

Their Intuition causes them to wonder into places like Tumblr where they can engage in deep discussions about their newest obsessions, and they won’t be judged for writing a 500+ word post about why Dream’s shipbait tactics are a genius algorithm strat or simping over sweaty Minecraft boys.

DTeam Tumblr is a safe haven for INFPs and INTPs who might be placed in the “other” category or marked as weird for being interested in “childish” entertainment or being different from the general population overall, whether that’d be sexuality, point of view, age, gender, etc. A place where you can fully be yourself and not have to worry about disappointing people.

INFPs are predisposed for drowning themselves in their micro-obsessions to avoid all of the madness in the world--even if that means giggling like a little girl while reading memes about your favorite Minecraft YouTube creators.

That is a deep-dive into the mind of a typical DTeam Tumblr user. What do you think? Is it accurate at all? Is it completely off? Let me know in the comments!

☘️ Any “unusual” symptoms in childhood that should have tipped you off to you being a system earlier?

I have a lot of weird little experiences where I was really distressed with not remembering things that had just happened in my childhood, like crying because I was going home from a friends house when I 'just got there', or the more serious thing that happened that got me diagnosed w depression at 7. I don't really know how I made sense of it other than thinking I was really really stupid

The aspect of having multiple parts though? According to my diaries, I'd discovered that aspect again and again through the years and forgot, lol. I wrote off my obsession with hiding my 'true self' as just teenage angst, even alongside my friend who was trying to figure out if they had DID, ironically. I'm glad I didn't medicalize things for myself back then.

🍐 What was your first introduction to the OSDDID community that you can remember?

After months of denying it then finally talking to my fiance about the possibility of DID, I went to tumblr first to give myself a bit of a...........safe way to browse before diving into research. I found that I really strongly related to some people who posted in the tags more often around 2017-18 and lurked for literal years :v finally jumped the gun and made this account into my DID blog around/in 2020!

Early on ofc I absorbed everything from DID youtube, a slight regret because I was misled and stigmatized on a lot of the nuance, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ im still learning

I don't understand why so many people hate the fruitverse blogs, they can literally make any interaction better

for example, you could have a post where two people are arguing (and are both obviously wrong for different reasons) and then someone else comes along and says "will you two just kiss already" and then someone ELSE comes along and happens to have a gif that relates to the conversation because of course they do and then someone remarks about how weird it is that someone always has a gif for everything and then just. two people exchanging fruits. like they go back and forth exchanging pears and bananas multiple times and nobody says anything about it. and then it becomes a world heritage post. like how could you not enjoy the contributions that the fruitverse blogs made? this post would just be another post if it wasn't for them, respect the fruits

1. Introduce yourself. You choose how much and how little!

hi! i’m laura (she/her) 23 years old turning 24 in exactly a week ahh!!

2. How and when did you become a CHOICE?

i’ve casually followed a.c.e since debut. really liked chan because i was avidly invested in the unit groups - uni.t and unb - so i naturally ended up heavily following a.c.e’s activities after unb’s promotions ended. absolutely fell in love with undercover when it came out! it felt amazing to see them reunited after the competitions they took part in and finally be able to release music together!

3. What is your favourite part of being a CHOICE?

being on tumblr and seeing everyone’s beautiful content, posting gifs of a.c.e, reading everyone’s tags/posts and just being able to freely talk about anything and everything a.c.e related! i love the environment on choice tumblr and feel so comfortable here. it definitely created very happy memories for me and overall encouraged me to love a.c.e even more.

4. What is your favourite A.C.E song? Do you prefer their title tracks or b-sides more?

this is SO hard! i would say undercover because it felt like an evolving point in their career for me. but savage is currently my most played song ever on spotify so.. i think i tend to listen to title tracks of every artist i enjoy more than their b-sides but it truly varies. during promotions i tend to like b-sides more but as time goes by i think the impact of title tracks is what lasts longer for me! a.c.e genuinely is one of the few groups that i enjoy all songs though, no bad or underwhelming song in their whole discography.

5. Who’s your bias? What do you like about them?

KANG YUCHAN! i always find it a bit difficult to name one member as a definite bias but given how much i loved him with unb and seeing him reunited with his members it’s been such a joy to follow his career! he’s so talented and hard working, such a cutie energetic ball of sunshine! he makes me so happy...

6. What is your favourite thing about A.C.E?

their whole pre-debut story of coming together from different companies with their ceo, busking on the streets, practicing in the basement with no mirrors and literally working their way up to the artists they are now is so mind boggling to me. i cannot emphasise in words just how talented they are and knowing how much dedication they put in their careers is very inspiring. the messages they want to deliver with their music and how they approach comebacks with beautiful stories and performances on top of the obvious amazing vocals, raps and dance... it’s just fascinating to keep up with them.

7. Which concept has been your favourite? What kind of concept do you want them to try?

undercover and favorite boys! musically i prefer undercover and i would love to see more rock music from them. overall concept wise they really did IT with favorite boys - the folklore story, underwater photoshoot, outfits and performances ahh!! i would love them to try a sexy concept next and i really love the direction we’re going with the moon and potential mythology continuation concept for sirens so i think they’re already delivering everything i want soon!

8. Which A.C.E friendship is your favourite? Which one do you want to see more of?

i love ot5 a.c.e’s relationship they all care and support each other so much! personally enjoy watching wowkwan and dongjun compilations on youtube lol.. they’re cute

9. If you could tell A.C.E one thing, what would you tell them?

i hope that you can continue performing and doing what you love the most with the people that cherish you and provide you a safe and healthy environment. can’t wait to see what’s next for you! thank you!!!!

10. Which A.C.E member would die first in a horror movie?

i agree with everyone saying junhee lmao
