Can you do headcannons for whenever Loki is in a Playful mood?
𝐋𝐨𝐤𝐢 𝐈𝐧 𝐀 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐌𝐨𝐨𝐝
there's no stopping him once he's in this mood.
having a normal conversation becomes impossible, but seeing his smile light up the room made his mischievous actions somewhat worthwhile.
like when he'd take your bag right before you had to leave for work and would hide his face behind the day-old newspaper, telling you he has no idea what you were talking about.
or when he'd tell you about several of his famous 'work incidents', knowing that at the next event tony threw, you would have to do a round of apologies on lokis behalf while he was causing even more trouble.
you stupidly thought that maybe playing him at his own game would get him to calm down a little and see all the mayhem he was causing to others around him.
you drew on his face with a permanent marker, accidentally spilt things on him, replaced his favourite book with a replica that had torn pages, threw a few red clothes in with the whites. anything to make him think about his actions might be a bit too much.
...but that was a mistake.
it wasn't just a game to him. it was a huge part of his life.
you realised that when you found yourself unable to get out of bed one morning with loki tickling you mercilessly.
or the one that neither of you could forget. that one time you woke up late for work. you took a shower and couldn't find your clothes or a towel. and suddenly your bedroom door had a lock on it. needless to say, when you got back that evening, you were jobless.
after that, you noticed a change in his antics.
he'd plant kisses all over your face when you were reading instead of trying to poke your soul out of you.
he'd still tickle you, but never used his seidr to bedbound you, and paid close attention to any signs of annoyance or distress.
but only with you.
he still wanted to put thor and his goons through hell a few more times before he took it down a notch. he deserved that much after they practically embarrassed a god.
but his cuddles turned into sufferable bearhugs, you found yourself sandwiched between him and the bed most mornings; anything that would annoy you, but not to the point of anger.

King Loki
Tumblr media
“Loki,” You called softly from behind his back standing on the Bifrost. The wind was throwing your long hair backwards. You have just witnessed how he had frozen Heimdall, turning into a Jotun but you didn’t care. You knew Heimdall would be alright. Loki was another matter.
“How did you get here, dear?” He asked while turning around. The term of endearment he usually uses with you felt too forced.
“You know I don’t need the Tesseract to transport. I’m a goddess,” You took a tentative step toward him and he just looked at you with a stoic expression. “Can we talk, Loki?”
“I have things to do right now.”
“I know, darling. I need to tell you something urgent and brief and then I’ll stay by your side whatever you decide to do,” You grabbed his arm and he looked at you with one of his perfect eyebrows arched.
“Why would you do that?” His face remained stoic but his green eyes betrayed him. You knew him for years now, his beautiful eyes would always tell you everything you needed to know.
“Because you’re the owner of my heart and my king,” You smiled at him while trying to convey in your voice and your face the certainty you felt. Loki just nodded at you to say whatever you wanted. You sighed. “I know what you’re about to do. I’m not going to try to convince you not to. I just want you to listen to me, okay?”
“I’m listening. Be quick.”
“I know you want to do this to prove that you’re just like Thor, but you aren’t like him and that’s what makes you so wonderful,” You stop for a moment to try to calm your heart. “You are the most talented, wisest, cleverest and, if you allow me, beautiful soul in the Nine Realms. You don’t have anything to prove because those of us who took the chance to see what you hide behind the thick walls you covered your heart with know that you are more than anybody and anything else,” You smiled sweetly at him.
“And who would these people be, according to you?”
“All of us who truly love you, Loki: me, your Mother, your brother, even your Father in his own wicked way of showing it. Tell me, why do you wish to destroy Jotunheim apart from proving that you can do what your brother does?” You asked while hugging him by the waist. Loki didn’t push you away but his grip on Gungnir became firmer.
“I’ll prove that I’m not one of them… That I’m worthy,” Loki whispered the last part but you were able to hear him just fine.
“As I told you, you don’t have anything to prove. And as I promised, now that I have shared my thoughts, I’ll stand by your side whatever you decide to do,” You took a step back feeling your heart throbbing.
You hid your deception when Loki turned around from you and started to walk toward the observatory. You promised you’d be there with him, so you followed him inside. You hugged yourself, biting your lower lip. However, as Loki was about to put Gungnir down and start destroying Jotunheim, he hesitated.
“How can you love a monster like me?” He asks in a whisper looking at you with a side gaze.
“First, you’re no monster. Second, I love you no matter what, remember?” You had said those words the moment you met him when you two were nothing but kids. A little smile turned on the corner of his lips and you felt your heart skip a beat.
“You saw my blue skin even when I wasn’t facing you, I’m sure,” He hung his head low.
“Yes, and you look as beautiful and as hot as ever, my love,” You said walking toward him and putting your hand on his shoulder.
“How can you say that with such conviction? How can you look at me with those loving eyes knowing what you do!?” Loki turned around quickly while speaking, letting Gungnir fall to the floor, grabbing your hips and making you walk backwards until your back was glued to the wall. You put both your hands on his shoulders making him come closer to you.
“Because it’s how I feel, dear. You are the owner of my heart, body and soul. I love you more than everything in the Nine Realms and I will always do,” Loki let his forehead fall into yours as he closed his eyes. You were sharing your breath and even your heart matched the rhythm of his -that was how connected you were.
“You promise you won’t leave me? Not ever? Not when things turn out awful?” Loki slowly opened his beautiful green eyes to look straight into yours. He was so close that it was a bit dizzying but you keep your eyes looking into his.
“Never as long as I’m alive, my beautiful king.”
Loki looked at you for a moment longer obviously trying to figure out if you were lying to him or not. You held your gaze hoping to show him how much he meant to you. Before you were able to react, his lips crashed on yours. He kissed you with desperation, passion and love all at the same time. You held him tight against your body while you kept up his furiously rapid pace of kissing you. You weren’t complaining, though. His kissing technique was exquisite.
“It’s forever for us, understand?” Loki whispered against your lips. Even when it was more of a reminder for him than for you, you knew he’d expected you to answer him.
“Yes, darling. Forever,” You hummed while caressing his chest.
“Good. Now, my queen, let’s go to my chambers. I need to bury myself inside you right this instant.”

You Have My Word
Loki, in all his arrogant, sarcastic glory, was your best friend. He wasn't always the best at showing it, but when it came down to it, he knew how close the two of you truly were. He knew that, no matter how hard he tried to disprove it sometimes, you would always be there for him and never had any bad intentions.
Even after the Attack on New York, you knew there was more to the story than initially met the eyes. It took a lot of convincing, but he eventually admitted that he'd been nearly forced to do it. He didn't think anyone would believe him, nor did he want to ruin his pride, so he kept quiet about it. You nearly took his head off for letting himself be condemned to life in the dungeons for something that wasn't entirely his fault. Apparently, he'd accepted his fate on that front, even though it still pissed him off tremendously.
Loki had been imprisoned for some time when the tragedy struck. When the invasion happened and the queen, his mother, one of the only people to ever treat him exceptionally and love him unconditionally, was killed. After you heard the news and got over your own momentary bubble of shock and grief, the first thing you thought about was him. How his mother was dead, and he was locked in a cell, completely alone.
You didn't ask for permission. You didn't care about permission.
You made your way to the dungeons, and you could hear the crashing and dull thudding all the way from the stairs. When you reach the set of sentries that guard the dungeon's entrance, they both silently step in your path, blocking you.
"No, let me through-"
"No visitors to the dungeon."
"I am his friend, let me through-"
"There are no visitors-"
You leaned in closer, gritting your teeth; your words are almost a growl. The sentries actually looked the slightest bit intimidated. "His mother is dead. I am his greatest friend. Give me five minutes."
The two men exchanged a wary look. One of them sighed before stepping to the side, and the other followed suit. "Five minutes. Not a moment longer."
You were already moving past them before he could finish his sentence. You rushed to Loki's cell, trying to absorb the sight in front of you as you made your way.
Loki is enraged - as you knew he would be. The anger always came first for him; the sadness would follow later. His cell was destroyed, the furniture within smashed to pieces, a few of the books shredded, glass shards from a bowl littering the floor. As you approached, though, he seemed to be on the tail end of his rage. He sent an enormous blast of magic towards a chair, practically shattering it against the cell wall, before doubling over, bending down so far he has to place a hand on the ground to steady himself.
You reached the cell and placed your hand against the barrier, as close as you could get to him. He was so absorbed into his own emotions and pain, he hadn't even noticed your arrival yet. "Loki..."
He looked up sharply, turning his head back to look at you. For the briefest of moments, he looked like a caged animal: alert, frightened, and immensely angry. Once he took in the sight of you, though, his expression quickly changed to shock, and then to sorrow.
In true Loki fashion, though, he was instantly masking the latter emotion.
He was breathless as he spoke, his breaths coming in heavy pants that engaged his entire upper body. "What? Have you come to gawk at the display? To laugh at how low I've sunken?" His voice was wavering the more he attempted to sound intimidating, and you could tell he knew that.
"You know I haven't," you said softly, shaking your head. "You know I would never."
He sensed the care in your voice, the empathy. For a moment, it looked like he wanted to submit to it, but he quickly covered it with a scowl.
"I don't need, nor want, your pity," he said slowly, having to force strength behind his words.
"It's not pity... I just wanted you to know that I care. I don't want you to feel so alone..." You almost regretted saying the words, thinking they would only amount to more perceived pity in Loki's eyes.
You were surprised when the words seemed to affect him so much that he could no longer feign malice, and he looked away. After a few stuttering breaths, he hauled himself to his feet and walked towards you. With a bit of hesitation, he first placed his hand against the glass, directly across from yours, then went a step further and leaned his forehead against it, closing his eyes. He bit his lip in an effort to keep his composure as you, also, leaned your forehead against the glass.
"I'm not leaving you alone," you muttered to him softly.
His hand on the glass clenched into a fist, but it was out of more pain than anger. His voice was barely more than a rasping whisper. "You should."
You shook your head. "No... never." Your hand curled, mimicking the gesture of wrapping around his fist, if only the barrier would allow you. "You have my word."
He tucked his lips even tighter, frowning, before his resolve cracked and he released an exhale that was very nearly a sob. He turned away from the glass, trying desperately, so desperately, not to let himself give in to the tears. He took a few collecting breaths before forcing his words out.
"Please leave..." It was a broken plea, not an angry command. "I-I cannot bear the thought of you seeing me like this..."
"Loki, you don't have to-"
"I know, I know." He spoke those words almost frantically, as if the thought of you seeing him so upset caused him panic. "Please, just... please go."
You'd never heard him say "please" so many times in his life, nor had you ever seen him so desperate.
He needed to grieve in private. You could understand that.
You swallowed before slowly beginning to walk away from the cell, heading back towards the entrance of the dungeons. Before you left the area, you paused and gave him a few parting words, hoping he would know they were true.
"You truly aren't alone - I mean that... Please do not forget it."
----------
When the night of Frigga's funeral came, you knew Odin would not be releasing Loki from the dungeons to attend.
You had a plan to fix that.
The sleeping brew wasn't particularly difficult to make, nor to get the guards to drink it. You presented yourself as a sorrowful lady who was desperate to give back to the kingdom after the death of the queen, and they simply could not deny your offer of seemingly innocent tea.
They were asleep within five minutes. You stole the master key from one of them, and made your way to Loki's cell.
When you looked around the corner, Loki was sitting on a chair, a book open between his hands. Once you continued your approach and he noticed you, his expression was initially shock, then almost as quickly faded into surrender.
He vanished the illusion without you having to speak a word.
Loki was sitting against the back wall of the cell, looking nothing short of deranged with grief: his hair was a tangled, long mess; his face was blotched from his emotions; and his eyes were red from his tears. He looked exhausted and aggrieved and was the cracked shell of a being, and in all your years, you couldn't recall anyone ever looking more pained. It goes without question that someone must have told him tonight was the night of the service.
You exhaled softly before reaching out your hand and displaying the key to him.
He looked equal parts shocked and frightened when he realized what it was.
"The guards are asleep," you spoke softly, "and they will remain that way for hours to come." You swallowed. "I'm going to do this for you, but you have to promise me... no tricks. We have to come straight back."
He sat up a bit straighter, seeming intrigued by your offer. When he realized you really were being truthful, you could see his eyes well over with tears. He inhaled a shaking breath before giving a quick nod.
"You have my word."
It was all you needed to hear. You placed the master key in the lock and turned it; the orange barriers faded away to nothing, and Loki slowly made his way to his feet.
You met him halfway and handed him a hooded cloak. "I know your magic may falter, with everything... but this should hide your appearance well enough."
It wasn't a common fact, but he'd mentioned to you a few times that his magic was harder to practice when he was saddened or anxious. You were surprised he'd even managed the illusion of himself, but knew that once he got at the ceremony, he may not be able to be so focused.
He took the cloak with a solemn nod of acknowledgment, already slipping it through his arms and over his head. You looked at him for a moment, pondering, before slowly reaching up and removing the hood. You looked at him up close, regarding him, and he sheepishly met your eyes, looking not too far from breaking down already.
"Don't leave my side," you told him in a whisper. Both to ensure he didn't try and escape on you (you didn't think he was really in the shape to do so, anyway) and for both your own comforts.
He averted his gaze from you for a moment; when he looked back, his eyes were overwhelmingly tearful and grieved. He said, in a voice even softer than yours: "Don't leave mine."
Tears became apparent in your own eyes as you nodded once. "Never."
The two of you made your way to the seafront courtyard in the midst of the chilly evening, navigating through the mourners. The only good thing about the crowd was that all of them were too absorbed in their grief to really pay attention to anyone else; it allowed the two of you to easily make your way to the seafront, where the ceremony would be held.
You couldn't remember the last time you'd attended a funeral of this scale; so grand, so regal, and so beautifully sad. The ceremony was one of anyone's dreams, and the grief of the entire realm was palpable in the nighttime air.
As you and Loki listened to the speeches, he remained by your side, still and silent, his face tilted downward so it could be concealed by the dark cloak. The two of you were never far apart enough not to be touching each other, which, most of the time, you were. He took your hand in his own more than once, angling his head even more to hide what you were sure were tears. At certain points, you leaned your head against his shoulder, nestling closer against him - in response, he would subtly place a trembling hand on your back and curl you just a bit closer to him.
Neither of you spoke a single word. Neither of you had to.
When it came time to send the lanterns, the two of you waited your turn until you were at the seafront. Once there, you each grabbed one of the lanterns, lit them, and made your way to an unpopulated, quiet area at the edge of the courtyard.
You bent down and placed your lantern onto the water, holding it steady. You murmured an Asgardian prayer, closing your eyes, before releasing the lantern and allowing it to be carried to sea, over the edge, guiding the queen safely to her final resting place of Valhalla.
Loki, who was kneeling to your left, was still holding his lantern in the water, his head angled so much that even you could not see his face.
You hesitated a moment before rising, coming to stand behind him. You squatted down slightly before reaching past his frame and placing your hand over his.
You made sure your voice was no louder than a whisper.
"Did you say your departing words?"
The cloak bobbed in a slow affirmative. You nodded in return, your grip on his hand tightening slightly.
"All right... Then together - on three."
There was a longer hesitation, but eventually Loki lowered his head even further; you took that as acceptance enough.
"All right. One... two... three."
You began to lift your hand, and after the briefest of hesitations, he did the same. You clasped your hand tightly around his as the lantern began to float away, drifting out to sea along with the thousands of others, along with the boat that held his mother's body.
He brought your attached hands in closer to him at his chest, then up further to his lips. You released his hand and moved yours to his shoulder when you realized he was using it to keep himself from sobbing aloud.
With a few murmured words of consolation, you got him to his feet before wrapping your arms around his mid-section and nestled yourself against him. His hands quickly came to encircle your waist, holding you as close as possible against him. As if you were the last, most precious thing in the world to him, and he couldn't bear to let you go.
He bowed his head nearly to his chest, and his whispered sobs broke your heart into shattered fragments. His chest heaved with each one, yet he kept them quiet, so soft only you could hear.
Only for you. Only for you would he ever be so transparent in his vulnerability.
Once he had gathered himself somewhat, you two wordlessly began the walk back to the dungeons, you keeping a subtle hand on his side the entire way. He wasn't angry or resistant - he knew it had to happen, and he knew that wasn't your fault.
The guards were still deeply asleep, so you passed back into the dungeons with ease. When you two reached Loki's cell, the two of you were still for a moment before you, once again, reached up and removed the hood from his head. His arms instantly came to wrap around himself as he refused to meet your gaze, his skin splotchy, his eyes red-rimmed and irritated.
You gazed at him before putting your hands out, palms up. He looked down at your offer, then almost instantly shut his eyes, as if the sight pained him. It seemed to take effort for him to place his hands atop yours, and something about the contact nearly broke him down to sobs once again.
"I'm going to speak with Odin," you told him adamantly. "To try and work out something different... something that isn't this." You fought back the tears in your eyes, dropping your voice to a whisper. "You have my word."
He managed to step closer to you and take you in a loose embrace before you could see too much of the emotional affect your words had. The way his breathing became shallow and stuttering told you enough.
He placed his chin on top of your head, taking a few moments to gather himself before he spoke in a quiet, nearly hoarse voice. "I will not forget this." His voice faltered slightly. "Thank you..."
You wrapped your arms around him, allowing yourself to be as close to him as you possibly could be. You didn't know when the next time you would get to hold him like that would be.
If there would be a next time.
----------
It was only a few days later when you saw him again - roaming the halls of the Asgardian palace with his brother, of all places.
You stopped dead in your tracks when you rounded the corner and were met with them both. They also both stopped, looking like caught animals until they realized it was only you. One look at Thor told you that Loki's unexpected freedom was his own doing.
One look at Loki told you that he was caught between feigning indifference and taking you in an unabashed embrace.
You made the decision easier for him by quirking an eyebrow, keeping your tone light.
"Look what the cat decided to drag out."
Loki's expression flooded with relief and something like admiration for a brief moment - it was then covered with his usual arrogant, sarcastic aura. "Much to your pleasure, I'm certain."
You couldn't help but to smile. "Yes... much to my pleasure."
Thor nearly rolled his eyes at the antics of you both. He gave Loki a sideways glance. "Come along, Brother... We have matters to tend to."
He began walking forward, but Loki hesitated a moment. Once Thor was ahead of you, the God of Mischief gave you a rare, sincere smile. He then stepped forward, bent down, and placed a quick, sheepish kiss to the top of your head.
"Aw, Loki-" you began, teasing him dotingly, but he interrupted in a low tone.
"Tell anyone and I shall deny everything."
You gave him a look before confidently placing a hand on the side of his face and planting a kiss on the opposite cheek. He was surprised enough by it that it flustered him, and his cheeks became tinged with pink.
"Tell anyone and I'll deny nothing," you said, smiling cheekily.
He looked at you bashfully, smirking a bit in that charming way of his. His eyes then glanced ahead, to where Thor was still making his way, before he looked back at you. "Wait for my return?"
You smiled at him warmly, knowingly.
"You have my word. Always."

Monsters and Demons
LOKI IMAGINES
A/N : Imagine Loki's voice lulling you back to sleep once you wake up crying in the middle of the night, pulling you close to him. His words claiming you his, only his. His most priced possession. You.
Tumblr media
Oh,dear! I see your wet eyes Have you been crying, my love? Among the millions of stars in the galaxy You chose the least illuminating one. Admist all the reasons to be happy I see, you chose to be sad. What is it dear? The thought that's keeping you up? Are the demons getting too giant to be kept locked up In that little closet of yours? Are you scared of putting your feet down? Do the monsters under your bed, frighten you? Fear not, dear! For you have me Me and you, will walk together till the end of the line We'll make it to the other side. Let no negative word cross your mind For I dwell in your every thought Let no monster scare you, love For I rule your world. Fear me, make me your demons And ye shall start loving your demons. Love me, make me your star And ye shall be blinded by my light. I will make you feel heaven Just try me once Let me possess you And ye shall never regret.
YES! HE LOVES YOUU!

Strange: While the avengers scavenger hunt you were hit in the head with Thor's hammer and then your own statue fell on you. You've been in a comma for 6 years
Loki: what do you mean Ive been asleep for 6 years, wait is Mobius alright ?
Y/N: Yes he's fine, he blamed himself for what happened to you so he moved out of the tower and now he's working back in the TVA.
Loki: What thats not possible.
Y/N: Its actually funny and heartwarming, he is taking care of all variants equally.
Loki: No this isn't happening, this is all just a dream, a nightmare, which means I am in control. You know who's going to walk through that door. Britney spears.
*THOR WALKS IN*
Loki: shit THOR ? Why are you here brother?
Thor: You haven't told him yet have you love?
Loki: Love? Wait what happened..
Y/N: Look I was alone okay and stressed on life, thinking about when you'll wake up, being apart of the avengers and leading shield. So Thor was there the entire time and we happened. And when we went on a mission something sweet happened.
Thor: It was a robbery
Loki: YOU REPLACED ME WITH MY BROTHER
Thor: I would never replace you brother, I just wanted to make sure she had someone to lean on to. We go mud-sliding and eat pop tarts before dinner now.
Loki: Strange if you wouldn't mind please put me to rest or you know just kill me all the same.
Strange: Your agitated its normal, what are you feeling...pain?
Loki: just the agony of learning my wife is married to my BROTHER.
Thor: Oh were not married, I'm just here for Y/N physically *winks*
Loki: THATS WORSE
Strange: lets put it to the test how good is your memory from before. Do you remember the statue?
Loki: I remember the whole scavenger hunt, Mobius, Stark with his electrical back scratcher and how he wanted to use it to break the tesseract if he found it.
Y/N: Do you remember where you hid the tesseract ?
Loki: Yeah underneath my helmet inside our closet?
Y/N: Thanks Love. *rips of wig*
Loki: Its not the future is it
Y/N: its only about 30 minutes since the fall. * walls around the building fall and the buildings are not longer futuristic*

Tumblr media
The roaring of the room around you was overwhelming. Most of the team had considered the last mission to be one of failure, while you remained positive and thought it was a success, with none of the team members gravely injured.
Sitting at the table, you gazed around the bar. Steve and Tony were playing darts while Bruce and Bucky sat at a nearby table laughing at Tony's missed throws.
Natasha was sitting in front of you while Wanda was beside you, about of the enamored in a discussion about the upcoming mission. Thor and Loki sat at the front bar, in a deep discussion.
Gazing at Loki, you couldn't stop yourself from thinking how handsome he looked. Catching your staring, you attempted to dart your eyes back towards the group playing darts. Your cheeks began heating up as your stomach fluttered.
The sound of Natasha chuckling in front of you caught your attention.
"What's so funny?" You leaned back against your chair crossing your arms along your chest, as you tilted your head slightly.
Lifting her eyes to yours, she held your gaze seemingly boring into your soul. Shivering slightly, you cleared your throat as you began shifting in your chair.
"Oh, nothing." Natasha taunted. She brought her gaze back to her drink. Stirring the straw, she studied the movements as if it was the most important thing in the world. "Just, you and Loki." She smirked glancing back up to your eyes.
With widened eyes, you felt your heart skip a beat. Your jaw falling open slightly, as you felt your mouth become insanely dry. As your mind raced a million miles, you furrowed your eyebrows together staring at the table in front of you.
"There's no... Us."
Scoffing, you glanced up in time to see Natasha roll her eyes. "Maybe not right now..."
Frowning, you opened and closed your mouth before deciding against any argument you had. Letting out a huff, you groaned internally.
"You wouldn't be bothered if I told you, G.I. Jane is trying to make moves on him?"
Placing your elbows on the table, you leaned forward silently challenging her. Holding your eyes, she raised an eyebrow at you, wordlessly urging you to look. A pit began forming in your stomach the longer you stared at her allowing your mind to form assumptions. Biting the inside of your lip, you sighed. A sly smirk began forming on Natasha's lips.
Glancing over your shoulder, you saw the perky, slim brunette that was holding Loki's attention. As you continued staring at her, your mind began comparing you to her. It didn't take long before you realized, she was everything you weren't. Her hair was cascading down her shoulders in perfect curls, while she wore a pair of black heels in a snuggly fit matching black dress. The sound of her gentle giggled somehow, carried over the booming music at the bar. As she glanced at the bartender, you were allowed a peek at her features. Her makeup had seemed to be perfect while her bust was nearly out. All the while, you were wearing black leggings, booties, with a plain white shirt as you topped off your outfit with a black leather jacket you had borrowed from Natasha.
Subconsciously, you reached up and fidgeted with your necklace pendant. Your breathing began to quicken, while your bottom lip was yanked between your teeth allowing you to chew on it. Frowning, you suddenly felt as if you were underdressed. Your mind began filling your thoughts with things you were insecure about, drowning out the music and nearby laughter.
"Hey," Natasha spoke. Reaching across the table, she clasped her hand around yours. Flinching at the sudden contact, you lifted your widened eyes to gaze into her worry-filled ones. "I'm sorry," She muttered. Her features scrunching up. "I-I didn't mean to make you upset-"
Shaking your head, you offered her a forced closed-lip smile. "You didn't."
Frowning, she knew you were bothered by how quick your response was.
"I...I think I'm going to go." You mumbled more so to yourself.
"Y/N-" Wanda attempted.
Standing up, you had already made up your mind. "I'll see you guys back at the compound."
Turning on your heel, you didn't bother waiting for either of your friends to respond. You were more concerned with the sudden feeling of the walls closing in on you. Nearly running out of the bar, you were met with the brisk night air.
Walking down the sidewalk, you had blocked out the noise and lights around you. The more you tried to ignore the feeling creeping up, the more it was consuming you. Feeling yourself begin to gasp for air, you navigated yourself in the direction of the nearest ally.
Placing a hand on the wall, you fold at your waist nearly toppling over. Resting your back against the wall, your head met the brick with a soft thud. Squeezing your eyes shut, your breaths becoming shallow, while you were overwhelmed by the feeling of your body shaking. Maneuvering your body, you sat leaning against the brick.
The sound of someone's footsteps echoed through the ally. As the stranger neared, the more your body trembled, willing anyone from the team to search for you.
"Hey, focus on me."
Snapping your eyes open, your jaw fell open slightly as you gazed into a familiar viridescent pair. As you slowly gazed at him, you took in his kneeling form beside you. His features holding a concerned expression as his eyes bore into yours. Before you could stop yourself, you leaned against him. Loki's aroma filled your nostrils.
"Take my hand." He spoke gently as he extended his hand towards you.
Gazing at him skeptically, you took the chance. In the blink of an eye, you were on your bed back at the compound. Toeing off your shoes, they hit the floor with a thud. Your borrowed jacket hitting the floor not long after.
Yanking your blankets back, you hurried underneath them making yourself snug, positioning yourself to face the door. Loki was quick to lift the blankets, allowing him to slide beneath. Before you could question, he wrapped an arm around your shoulder while the other was lazily draped across your waist. Shifting around, you finally found a comfortable position. Your forehead rested against his neck, while you absentmindedly traced shapes along his chest. Your instinct was to throw your leg across his hips, but you decided against it in hopes of not crossing any line.
However, Loki surprised you when he gripped the back of your knee, guiding it along his hips. Your eyebrows nearly darted to your hairline at the unexpected gesture.
Shaking you from your thoughts, was the soft rumble of Loki's chuckle underneath you. His hand that had guided your leg, rested comfortably upon the side of your knee, his thumb occasionally tracing along the area.
Focusing on his breathing, you felt your eyelids begin to grow heavy as sleep washed over you. Your eyes fluttered shut as you let a content sigh escape your lips. Gingerly, you nuzzled further into his neck earning another rumble of laughter. The sweet melody transcended upon you, causing your stomach to flutter. Drowsiness nearly taking its hold on you. Attempting to fight through it, you had some unanswered questions.
"Can I ask you a question?"
Laying against his chest, you were able to feel his soft hum.
"How did you know where I was?" You slurred with your eyes closed, giving up the fight of trying to hold them open.
"I..." His voice trailed off, as you could practically hear the frown in his voice. "I saw you leave.." He let out a pained sigh. "I was worried about you."
Scrunching your eyebrows, you felt as if your mind was playing tricks on you.
"But-" You were cut off by a yawn wracking through your body.
"Let's sleep now, and we can talk in the morning."
"I'm not even that tired." You grumbled as you hugged yourself closer to Loki.
Once he felt that you were deep enough in slumber, he placed a kiss upon your hair.
"Sleep tight, pet."

Can you do headcannons of Loki and reader as friends 🥺🥺 (Like they’re really good friends)
𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬
you first met when he caught you slashing the tyres of your neighbour's car one evening, calling you an 'amateur' when he helped pull out the knife for you.
"i guess that makes two of us," you looked pointedly at the monitor around his ankle.
since that day, you two had become really close.
you'd go to each other for advice, tease each other about any crushes. he even scared your neighbour, so much to the point they started bringing you cookies every other weekend.
and in return, of course, you'd help him scheme awful pranks on people.
the only thing you asked of him was not to tell you who the prank was for, otherwise, you'd feel bad.
but you did have fun helping him and finding out who the prank was for after it happened.
you helped him write on the back of tony's shirt in someone's handwriting once (he never told you whose), and when thor claimed he had no recollection of doing it, stating he probably started sleepwalking again, you responded by burying your face in lokis shoulder and laughing silently.
as a keyholder for your store, he would meet you most mornings to help you open up and return near closing time to help pack away.
oh, and he didn't only scare off your neighbour. he scared the local shopkeeper who always overcharged you. now you get most things for free.
if there was an event coming up, you would help him look for a suitable outfit. and he would invite you.
after a mission, you'd help him clean his armour as he never trusted any mortal contraptions with his 'fine asgardian leather'.
he even spent most evenings with you if he was dismissed by someone on the team, buying your favourite snacks on the way to your place while you threw cushions all over the floor and built a fort, forgetting to choose a movie.
or sometimes you'd just talk about whatever was on your minds. mostly the past and feelings. those nights would usually end up with one of you tearing up.
you knew it was hard for him to open up about certain things. so when he did, you would have a small celebration, whether it was going out to the movies, eating out or ordering takeout, having a few drinks.
anything to show him that his feelings mattered.
that he mattered and he was the best thing that's ever happened to you.

a/n: i do feel like they would be really good friends, but eventually down the line, the reader would end up falling for loki, just to find out that he has liked them this whole time 🥰 sorry for responding late x

Loki thinks you are cheating on him
Tumblr media
You looked at your fiancee in disbelief. Was Loki really asking you that absurdity? You saw him grow desperate as the minutes passed by and you didn’t answer his question. You contemplated leaving him there and going straight to your chambers to scream or something but decided against the idea at the last second. You breathed through your nose several times to calm down your temper. You tried not to feel offended by his insinuation.
“Tell me, who is it? Have you used me as all the rest, to get closer to my brother? Is that it!?” Loki screamed the last question and you turned your hands into fists.
“What makes you say that? It’s absurd.”
“Don’t try to lie to me! I have seen you and Sif going around the palace laughing, I just want to hear it from your mouth!” You couldn’t take it anymore. You were used to Loki’s insecurity, but these false accusations were more than you could handle.
“If you think so lowly of me, why do you bother!?” You screamed at him regretting it almost immediately after seeing Loki’s broken expression. “Come here, dear,” You asked him in a whisper, opening your arms to him.
“No! Answer me! I know you have been keeping a secret from me, tell me!” Loki usually didn’t scream when he was demanding something: his posture was enough to demand anything, but you saw the desperation in those green orbs you adored so much. You sighed.
“It’s true, I’ve been keeping a secret from you. However, how can you believe that I am cheating on you? Haven’t I shown you how much I love you?” You asked him with a broken voice.
“Tell me what it is, then. You cannot lie to the God of Lies,” You shook your head. Loki hated when someone called him the God of Lies. Why was he trying to hurt himself so much? Something must have happened that you didn’t know. You hoped that your news would make him a little bit happier.
“You are not the god of lies, Loki,” You stated looking at him straight into his green eyes. “I was going to wait until I could confirm it, but if you want to know, I am with child,” You scanned his beautiful face to see his reaction, and surprise was all there was.
“W-what…are you saying?” You couldn’t help but smile as you always did when you leave him wordless.
“I am expecting our firstborn, darling,” Loki came closer to you until he was able to touch your belly, where the new life was growing inside you. Loki looked down at the floor and then looked at your eyes.
“This child cannot be born,” Tears run down his face.

Loki x Reader: Favorites
Tumblr media
Request: Loki's s/o who owns horses and Guinea pigs.
Warninngs: None!
Y/n and Loki had been together for a while now, it wasn't a pairing anyone had expected, and yet somehow it worked. It was a surprise to everyone how soft and loving Loki became when he was around Y/n. Loki, the God of mischief was like putty in Y/n's hands.
Loki smiled softly as he watched Y/n from a far. She was taking care of her horses, brushing their fur and talking to them as she worked. Loki enjoyed watching Y/n work. She gave each horse such love and attention and he could tell she was truly happy when she was with them. As she finished brushing her horse and began leading him to the pasture she turned and finally noticed Loki standing there.
"How long have you been there?" She smiled at him.
"Long enough to hear you tell all your secrets to the beast." He teased.
Y/n rolled her eyes at him. "Mmm yes, I've told him every deep dark little detail of my life." She joked back.
The truth was, she often did talk through her problems with her animals. They just seemed to be able to listen so well. Today she hadn't had anything to work out though, she'd just been talking.
"If you must know I was telling them about this guy I met. More of a god really. He has dark hair, a bit of a bad boy I'd say, or at least he thinks he is. I think I might have a crush on him." She continued to joke.
"Hmm sounds like a terribly dashing fellow. I'm sure he must be quite the specimen." Loki played along. Now that the horse had been let into the pasture he was able to move in close to her. "Do you think you'll make a move on him?" He asked, his mouth now whispering in her ear.
"I just might." She said feeling her breath catch in her throat. Y/n moved in, letting her lips ghost over his as if she was going to kiss him before moving back suddenly. Loki stumbled slightly from the sudden distance and lack of kiss.
Y/n laughed. "Maybe later." She said, a glint of mischief in her eyes.
"I'm a god, I could make you kneel, you know?" He said raising an eyebrow and moving in again.
She let him come close before speaking. "Kneel yourself lover boy, I have Guinea pigs to feed." With that she laughed and began to walk away but Loki caught her arm before she could go too far.
"You sure you want to pick Guinea pigs over me?" He said pulling her in close.
She pulled him in for a kiss. He leaned into it enjoying the passion between them until she pulled away.
"The Guinea pigs will always be first priority, but I'll come back for you later." She winked.
With one last mischievous look, she walked away leaving Loki standing by the pasture. He shook his head and smiled. One of these days he'd outrank the animals.

Part 2
A winding gravel path ducked behind a hanging willow, a creaking gate swung open and closed in the light breeze, and a detached house was hidden behind the swaying branches. The smell of lilies spilled over him in waves, the scent carried on the breeze.
Thor felt his eyebrows pull together at the simple tranquillity of the sight. Fumbling in his pocket, reaching for the scrunched paper he had discarded there, he gripped it between his forefinger and thumb. Squinting at the small scrawled letters, he looked from the words to the cottage before him. The scrawled address matched his location but it seemed so different than what he had been expecting.
Of all the places he would have expected to find his brother, this tranquil little slice of Midgard was not suited to the chaos and mischief that followed him near constantly. What could Loki have been doing here all this time?
The answer would not magically appear from the driveway of this rustic country house, and so he opened the swinging gate more securely and stepped onto the gravel path. He didn’t take time to close the gate, instead letting it clatter noisily into the fence behind. The crunch of his steps upon the gravel provided a bass for the melody the birds were weaving.
His heavy knock seemed to echo through the empty air, overwhelming the sound of swaying branches, but the sound of a yell within the house still caught his attention. “Just a minute!” The steps behind the door were slow, measured, and his impatience only swelled. Everything seemed so strange and he was hoping to hurry towards an answer but your meandered steps forced him to wait.
The creak of a lock turning and the handle glinting as it dipped were the subtle precursors to your face appearing before him. The sight, for a multitude of reasons, certainly wasn’t what he had been expecting. “Hi,” you smiled up at him, the briefest hesitation weaved into your tone before a recognition lit up your features. “Hi!” You gave again, increased enthusiasm as you opened the door more fully.
Floundering, his eyes felt as though they doubled when they caught sight of your pregnant belly. At his overt attention you sent a nervous hand skittering over your bump, “would you like to come in?”
Stepping back, he shook his head quickly, fingers fiddling with the loose buttons of his coat. “Uh-no,” he stammered out, entirely certain he had come to the wrong place, “I seem to have made an error… have a - have a good day.” He told you, half turning away as he sent an awkward wave goodbye at you.
The same hand that had smoothed over your belly shot out to grasp his arm. “Thor, wait.” Stopping short he stumbled out a breath.
Hand up, palm flat in a halting gesture he tried to step away again. “Sorry,” he told you offhandedly, “official Avengers business – I can come back and sign something?” He told you, trying his best to get away but lacking the verbal finesse to extract himself.
Chuckling at his clear rush to escape, you tightened your grip pointedly. He sent an almost concerned glance down to your hand at the tightness of your grip. “You’re in the right place,” you reassured, voice calm as you sensed his rush. “You’re looking for Loki, right?”
He paused in his attempts of getting away.
“He should be back soon,” you told him, loosening your grip when he stopped in his rush to escape, “please come in.”
Nodding after a likely longer than necessary pause, he moved forwards.
The door frame was either tiny or he was much too large to fit comfortably. You moved as far out of the way as you could seemingly manage, still beckoning him through with a sweeping arm, but he still needed to work to squeeze himself through the gap. Looking back over the door frame he wondered why mortals had no sense of grandeur even in something so simple as doorways.
You looked in good humour as you watched him stoop through your doorstep. “Tea?” You asked, to which he immediately crinkled his nose, a sound of derision he had barely known himself capable of catching in his throat. “Or not.” You told him, laughing behind a hand.
The pair of you stood across from each other; you trying not to laugh at the confusion still scrunching his features and him trying to work out what was going on in front of him. Just as he was about to launch into questioning, with a severity of curiosity if not tone, you casually beckoned him further into the house. “C’mon,” you turned your back and stepped down the hallway with your hands supporting your lower back, “kitchen’s this way.”
He followed you obediently, forced to take shuffling steps rather than his usual large strides due to your decreased pace. He didn’t grumble over the meandering pace, acknowledging that you had an entire baby to carry along with you. And the slow wander down the hallway did allow him time to look over the trinkets scattering the hallway.
A large leafed green plant sat in a cracked porcelain pot beside the front door, leaves seeming to lean into the light that bled through the edge of the door. A book case was nestled beneath the oak stairs; the middle two shelves were stacked with books, each spine with a different thickness, whilst the other shelves were littered with small trinkets.
It was remarkably cosy, homely. Not what he had expected at all. None of this was as anticipated.
Per your silent direction, when you arrived in the kitchen he gingerly sat in what looked to be a rickety dining chair. You didn’t sit across from him, instead shifting to the countertop. “Do you want something to eat?”
He went to shake his head no, but immediately changed his mind when a large, chunky sandwich was placed in front of him. The fillings were so numerous that they were spilling out from between the thick slices of bread. You shrugged as you offhandedly explained, eyes turning warmly to your bump as you spoke; “I made it for me but I think she changed her mind.”
At your words his eyes dropped down to your belly where your hands were cradling the obvious bump. “You’re having a girl?” He asked, around a mouthful of food.
“Apparently so,” you told him, dropping carefully into the chair across from him - a sigh of relief escaping you as your back pressed into the back of the chair. “We’ll know for sure in a few days.”
Having now finished his sandwich, barely having tasted it with the haste that he had devoured it, he awkwardly folded his fingers before him before unclasping them to drum against the table. “So…” he began before immediately trailing off. Instead of forcing out stumbling questions, he clumsily gestured to your stomach whilst forming the most inquisitorial expression he could muster.
Palm pressed against the table, you leaned forward a little and answered the silent question. “Y’know, I was hoping she would get to meet her uncle.” Your tone of voice, mixed with the playful look in your eye, told him that you expected him to gain some revelation from these words.
Looking down to the crumbs he had left behind on the ceramic plate as though they held the answer, he gave a suggestion with a furrowed brow. “Have you contacted him?” Following the question, your eyebrows crunched together and you watched him silently for a long moment. Feeling as though he had missed something important, he blabbered another question. “I could help you find him? There is no place on Midgard inaccessible to the son of Odín.”
The brag merely made you chuckle. “Well, you wouldn’t need all that.” Hands waving to suggest the fanfare he had implied. You looked at him softly then, patiently. “All you’d need is a mirror.”
“Oh,” it took him another second to truly understand, “Oh. You and my brother? Loki? My brother Loki? Loki the god of mischief? That Loki?” You continued nodding emphatically as each question spilled from him in an almost endless tidal wave. You…” he trailed off awkwardly as he pointedly clasped his hands together in a strange manner, eyebrows raising and lips twisting in a question he was too uncomfortable to actually verbalise.
You nodded with a small but bright smile, “You’re gonna be an uncle.”
It took a few more moments of processing, experiencing a whole host of mixed emotions as he did so, before his face split into a grin. Standing from his chair, the table jerking and groaning under the sudden movement, he gave a booming laugh of excitement as he moved to embrace you. In your current state you couldn’t stand quickly enough to fully accept the hug but he bent double to embrace you.
Patting his back with a chuckle, your words were swallowed by his more booming tone. “I’m going to be an uncle!” He repeated, each word with increasing dramatics. “I can teach her to properly wield a hammer, although perhaps an axe would be more suited for a lady.”
You pulled back quickly, stern eyes on him but they quickly melted back into amusement at his excitable expression. “At least wait until she can walk,” your words inspired increased mirth in the man and he pushed forward to hug you yet again.
The moment Loki stepped through the door he realised something was off. The muddy footprints tracking from the doorway to the kitchen certainly weren’t usual. Your feet were much smaller than these prints and he knew you kicked your shoes off the moment you came in; your feet swelling uncomfortably in these last months of pregnancy.
The booming laughter that shook from the kitchen told him the source of these new shoe prints. Truthfully, he had been expecting this. He had ‘died’ enough times now that he doubted his brother would truly believe this latest episode, but just knowing you were so close to giving birth he wasn’t sure this was the best time for a reunion.
Hesitating, he turned an almost solemn expression over the hallway. There was a delicacy in how the pair of you had arranged the trinkets of your blossoming life together. A balance of colour, memories, and decor that meshed so wonderfully yet subtly together. The tracking footprints seemed an ominous reminder of a much greater worry; the war and chaos and fear and pain that he had fled from was sure to find its way back to him.
Now, it wasn’t just him.
There was no escape. He had slowly realised this truth even as he had settled into peace with you, the thought returning stubbornly in quiet moments, but this was such a stark reminder he couldn’t hope to ignore it.
His attempt at quashing this unease within himself was likely successful enough to fool his brother. Perhaps not you. Regardless, he followed the tracks in their meandering route to the kitchen.
Finding Thor bearing down on you in what appeared to be a well-natured embrace threw him off his purposeful stride slightly. This falter ended as he caught your eyes peeking at him over his brother’s large figure. The crinkle of your eyes suggested a smile and the excitable wave you fired at him, even despite your arm’s entrapment in the hug, chased away some of the anxieties coursing through him.
A deep breath, and; “Brother,” the word caught Thor’s attention entirely, he swung around to find the source even as Loki continued his now defunct request. “Kindly unhand my wife.”
