Loreley likes to wander around collecting herbs for potions, sometimes she ends up in the barren lands around the swap. When the stars have aligned in the right order she is able to collect the best herbs here. But if you dare to follow her... be careful where you set your feet, the swap swallows foolish humans.

I’ve been reworking my Welcome Home oc Loreley for the past few days XD

I’ve also been doing some design study of a few wonderful fan artists in the fandom that have the most scrumptious art style that fits the fandom to help understand the general WH style better for future reference.

Shoutout to @nohomie since I’ve studied their adorable oc Dolly a lot with their anatomy and facial structure. (She’s so stinking cute I can’t help but love her and her train conductor theme XD)

F/GO Fan-Servant Introduction: Loreley

All 4 Ascensions drawn by @glacescup ! Thank you so much again for bringing all my ideas 1:1 to life!)

She is a Rider-Class Servant originating from Germany - Known through many poems & ballads (one appears on Fate/Stay Night HF)!

Design Explanations are also in the Post!

All the Ascensions show her different states that happened in her life. It re-tells the poems. While of course there are many different versions of the poem, I just go with the most known ones!

Here are some Design Explanations:

•Ascension 1:

Loreley was known as a Beautiful Woman, so beautiful people believed her to be a witch. This is her, still full of joy & happiness. I wanted her to look country sided, the herbs in the basket are for cooking & medicine, but people might confuse it for potion making.

•Ascension 2:

When her sweet heart „betrayed her“ (there are many interpretations) she actually wanted to end it and asked the priest for help. In one Version she has to visit the Court of Köln to be judged upon. However in every Version, the Bishop or Priest tales Pitty on her. While people still believed that she is a witch he couldn’t bring himself to give her the death penalty. So he sent her to a Monastery. She should spend her life there as a nun. This is supposed to show her grieving for her sweet heart as well as being in front of the judge.

•Ascension 3:

After her Death Loreley became a Myth. People still hear her singing. She is believed to be a Nixe, a being similar to a Mermaid or a Sirene. At night she sings for herself at top of the Loreley (the Rock with the same name). This design was a mix out of my own Fantasy I had of her when I was younger, since I grew up near her place and knew her legend. Mystic and Beautiful, the once so bright Loreley is now pale and yet still so beautiful that in one Tale even the Devil fell in love with her.

•Ascension 4:

Legends say that Sailors see a blonde woman in a beautiful dress on top of the Rock, combing her hair. Loreley is still a Nixe, but the Moonlight shines on her and gives the Illusion of her once old self. The Veils also add to the illusion of her wearing a dress. This is also based on many paintings and how they depict her.

This Post is mainly to introduce her Artwork and what the thoughts behind it were, I will make a separate post for Skills and Noble Phantasm in the near future since I am still debating on things!

mythical water creatures

The unreachable depth and mystique of water whether it be a lake or the sea, has made mankind wonder about the creatures that may be living in it for ages. So here are 5 female water creatures that have lured naive men into insanity. (we stan)

Siren

Let´s start with a classic. Deriving from Greek mythology, the siren is a half human half fish or bird creature, seducing sailors and causing them to die by singing to them with their sweet voices which made them lose their minds. She is seen as dangerous, to be feared, but also as a tempting, beautiful woman. In some tellings where the sailor resists the sirens song, she commits suicide. The siren is a seductive and strong individual.

Undine

The undine is a peaceful water nymph from European myths, who lives in quiet forest lakes and sings charming songs. When she falls in love with a human man, she gets to have a soul and live a wonderful life as a normal girl. But should he be unfaithful to her, she would die. Which happened quite often, based on all the stories about her.

Rusalka

This creature from Slavic mythology is said to be the spirit of a virgin who was drowned and is now seeking revenge by enticing men and torturing them in their river. She is either portrayed as a cute and charming girl, beautiful and in white robes, singing a bewitching song or as a terrifying ugly naked being, scaring the passersby. Beginning of every summer, the russalki dance in circles under the moonlight, and everyone who joins them has to keep dancing until they die from exhaustion. How charming.

Loreley

This myth from Germany is about a virgin maid who commits suicide by jumping in a river because she got her heart broken by her lover, who misused her trust. Then she was transformed into a heartless siren who is on the hunt for fishermen and lures them into the water where they drown. She sure is a drama queen.

Mermaid

The well known mermaid, having a fish tail and human upper body, is portrayed as a beautiful, mostly with good intentions towards humans. Sometimes even falling in love with them. They like to sing and had magical powers which allowed them to see the future or heal wounds. But still they had a flighty and impulsive character, getting angry easily and causing floods for revenge or luring sailors into the water when they felt like it.

All female water creatures portray womanhood in every possible way, from a dramatic girl who got cheated on to an insane woman who wants to see every man on earth drown - we can definetely relate to them in some way. Let their stories inspire you xx

Okay, let’s start with the closer look to all the Ascensions again! Some of you might have seen my first post where I just showed the Art I commissioned, but here it is too refresh it a bit!

It’s all in order from 1-4!

Let’s proceed to the Concept Writing, Basic Informations + Attack Animation Ideas. When it comes to the Voice Actor please refer to Mano Ayumi's work as Hamel from the Game „Path to Nowhere“.

I won’t explain much since on the images everything is written already, so I am sorry if it’s a bit empty between the pictures! It’s so you can catch a break and don’t have just a wall of images, haha. Here are the active and passive skills!

I tried to balance her out and write her like you would find her in the game. But also like she should stand out! Its also one of the reasons why I made her a limited 3* instead of permanent!

Here are the Append Skills and the Noble Phantasm. Again with Explanation for why I chose certain things for her!
