✨Weyler Week Day 1 Submission✨
Tumblr media
Giving my a small smile, Tyler picked me up without warning and sat me on the counter. I had gasped in surprise. Wasn't expecting the sudden fluid movement of him as he swooped down with hands seeking me, gripped my lower hips down by my thighs, and hoisted me onto the marble surface. Standing there between my bent knees with hands framing my face, he tilted his head; Tyler's gaze seeking out mine. Kissing him to reassure myself I sighed into the embrace. Felt the chill within me melt slightly as our mouths met, lips melded to one another, and my fingers twisted into his hair.
"What's going on in that head?" Tyler whispered against my lips with thumbs smoothing over the line of my jaw. "Are you upset?"
I shook my head. Nudging against him, my head tried to make sense of it all. Everything was still a tangled mess and I couldn't figure out which way was up.
Swallowing loud enough that I could hear it, Tyler murmured, "You aren't regretting this are you?"
I looked up when I detected the hurt in his voice only to be crushed by how it was reflected in his somber eyes. There was a plea there. An unspoken begging for me to not say yes. He had wanted me; I was so certain of it know as his hands held me and gaze bored into me. Tyler desired me. Had hoped that I would desire him too. He had been waiting and wanting while never telling himself to touch or overstep. He had waited just as he was waiting now.
"No," I said--my voice rough as I fought to control my raging mind. "I'm just...it's a lot."
"If you want space I can drive you home."
"That's not what I meant." Pressing my lips into a tight line I reminded myself to use my words. To properly communicate what I felt the way Enid and Mara had both taught me. "I just wasn't expecting any of this. I don't regret it." Fingers still toying with Tyler's hair, I could feel myself smile a small smile. "I don't regret you. This is just new to me."

“my favorite feeling is falling in love. not exactly with a person. more with a thing. falling in love with something not someone. when you fall in love with someTHING you can dissect what exactly you are falling in love with, and yes you can do the same with someONE but it’s different nonetheless. when you fall in love with someTHING you know it’s steady. like music or books or movies or shows. i will listen to a song over and over and it will never get old. that first time i listen to a song i will end up loving is euphoric. reading a book that i will end up loving is euphoric. and there are  no ups and downs necessarily to loving it. it’s constantly euphoric. and sure you can argue that falling in love with  someONE is the same, and yes sometimes it is, but that’s the keyword. SOMETIMES. there’s gonna be the moments where falling in love with someone is gonna be absolutely heartbreaking or mind fucking or whatever else. but what are you gonna resort to? music or books or shows or movies or whatever other thing you love. because that someTHING is definitely and 100% stable and steady”

Music opens doors and creates invisible tapestries we walk through daily... https://reverb.com/shop/jamesguitarshoppe…
There ain't nothing wrong with owning a guitar. Cars wear out, break down eventually, and guitars last a lifetime... Ya.

The fact that the Boston transit system has been a garbage fire for so long that our mascot is a sad little man who is literally stranded on the train until the end of time due to a fare increase. Charlie's desiccated corpse has been riding this train since the 1940s and everyone just sort of rolls with it it this point

I cannot overstate how much I love Tom Lehrer's story. It sounds so fake but is entirely real.
He's a goddamn genius- he started studying mathematics at Harvard when he was 15 and graduated magna cum laude. He worked at Los Alamos for a few years before being drafted and working for the NSA, where he claims to have invented jello shots to get around alcohol bans.
He then went back to Harvard for a couple years before starting to teach political science at MIT.
Through all of that, he was writing and performing both some of the funniest shit you'll ever hear (Poisoning Pigeons in the Park, Masochism Tango) and absolutely scathing political satire (Who's Next, Wernher von Braun, Send the Marines). Until the mid/late 60s counterculture gained momentum. He didn't like their aesthetic, so he stopped making music.
Shortly after, he moved to California and started teaching math and musical theater history at UC Santa Cruz for the next 30 years.
I don't know if non-Californians understand just how goddamn funny that is. It's where stoners and math (and now computer science) kids who couldn't get into Berkeley go. Leaving Harvard/MIT for UCSC is peak academic phoning it in. And by all accounts he had a blast.
Plus the whole putting all of his music in the public domain thing. That fucked.

To lovely humans who were excluded from invitations, left behind when they tied their shoes, forced to walk in the grass when the sidewalk was full, spoken over when you tried to contribute, whispered about or laughed at, given side-eye when you tried to fit in.... you are so worthy of love.
