District!reader who Coriolanus left for dead in 12, but was found by Doctor Gaul and her team of scientists.

District!reader who was stuck in the private laboratories in Panem, having their brain altered, memory shifted and mismatched as Coriolanus climbs up the ranks and becomes president.

Newly acclaimed President Snow, still fresh off the hype of winning elections, was called down yet again down to see Dr Gaul. As he is escorted down the narrowing corridors he feels almost dresdful nostalgia for the years where he hadn't been as tainted, dreadful disdain for the times he had been weak and constantly scared of the future day.

And on a silver platter, in a hospital gown is sitting the ghost of his last, staring at him mindlessly. Doctor Gaul stares at him, studying his expression to see if she would see cracks in his exterior, yet another of her cruel tests, to see if he is truly deserving of ruling over Pabem.

President Snow who now has his almost lobotomised former lover stuck in the guest bedroom of his President Penthouse. Doctor Gaul had told him with a smile that she was simply returning "his songbird with clipped wings".

Coriolanus who has to deal with the silence and empty stares, lifeless eyes. Corio who feels the burning hate for you, himself and the powerlessness he has.

Loving Corio who helps you remember why you loved him, leaving all the unpleasant things out, making you his lap dog again. Corio who risks loosing you again, for the sake of bringing you back as you were. Your Corio who can't let you leave again.

Or

Dark!Coriolanus who relishes in your dependence on him, your curiosity gaze as he walks you around the Capitol, parading you almost like his pet for all the curios ministers and politician. You have become Panems favorite new face, everyone wants a piece.

Coriolanus Snow who will never let you leave, whichever route his twisted mind takes. Who will have you one way or another, willingly by his side, as his first lady of Panem, as his lap dog, as his hidden songbird in the gilded cage that is his mannor, never to be seen again.

I initially found it strange that we Lucy Gray doesn’t seem too affected by what happened in the games, she says through music that she’s not going to let the capitol take anything from her and she’s not going to let the games change her or break her. Lucy Gray is a survivor, Because of this you could say that she’s accepted that she did what she had to to survive and she tried to do the least harm as she possibly could. However I find it hard to believe she never got angry or upset about what they put her and the others through, that she never thought about her friend jessup and the other tributes that she got to know, who died horrible deaths.

But then I realised WHY we don’t get to see her feel anything about the games and it’s victims. It’s because we only see the story through Coryo’s POV and he lacks the capacity for empathy. It’s that inability to empathise with people that stops us from witnessing Lucy Gray’s trauma and grief. He doesn’t think about what she went through, he never asks her about how she feels about it or even about how she’s feeling in general. Lucy Gray never confides in him or brings up the games herself because (perhaps unconsciously) she knows he won’t understand or truly empathise and therefore, he wouldn’t be the person she’d choose talk to about how she’s feeling.

We don’t see her trauma because snow never cared about her trauma, he only focuses on how they fell in love during the games, not the horrors of it or what the girl he believes he loves had to go through, despite having a small taste himself of what it would have been like for Lucy during the games despite having a front row seat when he went into the arena and had to kill a person to get out alive, but he lacks the capacity to empathise. Despite his front row seat to Lucy Gray’s trauma as well as the injustices, and poor quality of life that she faces in district 12.

Mike is an immortal god-prince that falls in love with will, who is a poor mortal artist, after seeing a painting done by him depicting mike not as a chiseled statue of fierce stoicism and perfection, but the most like a human mike has ever seen before.

It looks like mike and it feels like mike and he demands to see the artist. They go into the friendship (though they both wish it was something more) knowing mike is a god but he was planning to make will a god alongside him or raise him up as a divine patron of the arts like a muse. However, somehow, will dies. He dies away from mike, either traveling towards him or meeting him somewhere. Mike catches glimpses of his ghost, sees him in the masters’ art studios, markets, arenas, theaters, and dance halls. He sees him everywhere but they never speak. Mike chases and chases after him wanting to be together again since will is technically still here, however will knows hes only still around because he has unfinished business with mike. He knows that if they talk, they reconcile and confess, wills reason for staying is no longer tying him down and he can “move on,” so to say. He knows that if they speak, he’ll never see mike again and he cant stand to let that happen.

And so the chase continues.

The very first time we see Coriolanus Snow, he is putting on his father's old dress shirt. It's the only good one he has left, the buttons made from mosaic tiles. And still, he is too proud to eat while others see him (just like his father, Highbottom tells him).

Later, Tigris tells him the thing he remembers about his father is the hate in his eyes. "You can be a good person," she says, but what she really means is don't be like him.

And in the end, Snow puts on his new, bloodred robes and Tigris can't even stand to look at him. "You look just like your father, Coriolanus." This is not her Coryo anymore, this is someone else.

From the first moment he's foreshadowed to be just like his father, a ruthless, hateful person. Now Coriolanus carries his name and his legacy.
