I was rewatching Season 5, and I started wondering: is it possible that there might be more to Ella than meets the eye?
Because after Pete's speech on how he saw darkness in her I started wondering and I wanted to know whether there are any theories flying around. Or, if you got any of your own, please feel free to write them.
Truth be told, we should have seen the whole "Michael-is-dragging-his-arse-to-earth-to- cause-trouble" thing coming.
At the end of season four, we see a Lucifer who is determined to keep the people he cares about safe. And if Lucifer is really determined to do something, he will. Whatever it takes. Especially if his objective is to protect Chloe.
I mean, look, it's killing him to leave her, but he does it anyway because that's the only way to keep her safe.
So, something big must happen, for Lucifer to pop back up to earth. Something that he cannot ignore. Something that is a threat Chloe's safety.
Well, your average human criminal won't cut it, and Lucifer knows that A. Chloe can look after herself and B. Maze will protect the little Urchin and Chloe with her life. That means the threat must be on a celestial level:

And bam! Lucifer returns, eyes blazing with hellfire, ready to beat his idiot twin brother's sadistic arse.
It makes so much sense now that I think about it, but I never expected it to go this way. Seriously though, introducing Michael to make Lucifer return from hell, is quite clever! I'm super excited! 😈💕
Just thinking about how Lucifer must have felt after his mojo just disappeared. His mojo, which is a big part of his identity, gets ripped away from him, literally overnight. As if that isn't bad enough, he fears, now that he has lost the one thing he feels was really useful for Chloe and her work, he would be no longer useful for her. The truly heartbreaking thing though, is that he equaled this loss of helpfulness with loss of value in Chloe's eyes.
