i think the virtue hunters give ryne her first haircut and giott offers and cyella just watches her grab fistfuls of hair and cut them haphazardly and explains this is how the dwarves do it when it gets hot under their helm "and nobody sees it if you do a bad job!" so cyella hovers to make sure ryne isnt being tortured

Ranaa was ecstatic.

She woke up on time, work was good, dance practice was great, and now she was ready to watch ‘Hildibrand, agent of inquiry: The case of the Phantom Thief’ at the cinema with her good friend Lue-Reeq. 

The icing of this ‘Good day cake’ was the fact that her other good friend - one T’ahria Lasa - was also there to see the new Hildibrand movie, only she was on a date that she neglected to tell them about. The cherry on top was the copious amounts of popcorn and chocolate Reeq bought at the concessions counter.

It hadn't taken much to get the information out of Alisaie. A few fresh baked ginger biscuits from the bakery down the road did the job well. No amount of protests from Arya could stop her from spilling the beans. T'ahria was seeing an allagan scholar from Sharlayan, currently acting as an advisor to an Ironworks project.

And this was their third date.

T'ahria hadn't breathed a word of any of this to either Ranaa or Reeq, a fact that both friends were equally upset about. She hadn't told her roommate either, which Ranaa found out when she called her apartment only to be greeted with Alka Zolka on the other end. T'ahria was being unfairly quiet about her romantic endeavours, so they took matters into their own hands.

Having her hair in plaits felt odd, but sacrificing her usual style was a necessary step in order to ensure none of them were recognized. Reeq had handed out some of his older hoodies, all out of fashion and too small for his adult frame. It took some skill and a pair of scissors to get one to fit Alka sufficiently enough, but they fit Ranaa perfectly; baggy to the point it was cosy but not a hindrance. 

The trio had arrived earlier than usual, nabbing three seats along the back row specifically. They had spotted their quarry the moment they entered - T’ahria, walking abreast with a redhead miqo’te. G’raha, had been the name Alisaie supplied, and Ranaa gave her approval on a surface level. He was handsome, dressed neatly in a shirt and sweater, hair pulled back in a braid. He was a gentleman too, letting T’ahria sit first.

“Oh, I recognize him” Reeq piped up, donning a pair of glasses. “I’ve seen him at archery practice recently. Not a bad shot”

“Reeq” Ranaa whispered harshly. He hadn’t donned just any glasses, oh no, but these ones had come with a nose and moustache attached. She lunged to try and take them off him. He managed to dodge the attempt, batting her hands away when she continued. “What the hells are those?!”

“A disguise. So she doesn’t recognize us”

Alka leaned forward, stare incredulous “She’s oblivious, not blind. Those are just a massive target, we’re better hiding in plain sight”

“Fine” Reeq grunted, throwing the glasses back in his bag. He shared out the popcorn and candy, and the three settled in.

They were about twenty minutes into the movie, when Hildibrand was discovered to be Zombibrand -”What am I watching?” Alka asked, as he hadn’t seen the first movie- when Ranaa noticed G’raha making a move.

Zombie media freaked T’ahria out more often than not, so to be faced with them twenty minutes into a movie she hadn’t expected them to be in -she wasn’t doing so good. Ranaa could hear the nervous thumping of her tail from where she sat, seven rows back, as the zombies crowded around Nashu on the screen. It was then she noticed G’raha’s arm come up and around her. But, to Ranaa’s utter delight and perked ears, he wasn’t just making a move, but rather asking her if she was alright.

She elbowed Reeq, almost knocking her slushie over in the process. Attention gain, she pointed down to the two, just as T’ahria was burying her head in G’raha’s sweater with the promise that he’d let her know when the zombie were gone. 

“I approve of him” Ranaa said simply, voice low to avoid disturbing the other movie watchers.

Reeq made a noncommittal sound. “I reckon it’s a bit too early to say if he’s any good or not. And I’ve got to give him the big brother talk”

“The big brother what now?”

“Y’know, the big brother talk, since her father’s… y’know…”

“I don’t think she needs to you to give her romantic interests ‘The talk’”

“She actively calls you her baby brother too” Alka cut in. 

“She calls me what”

“Shhhh!”

The trio froze, embarrassed that they got loud enough to require shushing. That embarrassment turned to horror as they realised that the person shushing them was none other than T’ahria herself, staring directly at them while G’raha was visibly trying to keep his chuckles at bay.

“Mission failed” Alka mumbled, pulling his hood lower. Reeq dove for his pair of glasses again. “We’ll get them next time”

Exarch, You know it better by now. To never meet your heroes, no. I don't see myself as a legend, no no nay. So I can only pick the one that vibe for me!

Exarch, Exarch sorry about this, you're not material for this bard quest's story.

Renda-Rea's background is closer to my WoL and both value their "pack" or huntmates. Appreciate what Exarch did, but his song doesn't feel like this Bard Quest's material but her Huntsongs memoirs comrade/huntsmate material.

That and she doesn't think of herself as some kind of legend and can't vibe that song. Totally in line with this quest to pick Renda for me. yes, yes.

Totally sung to the tune of Bad boys.

Oh and Heavensward is WoL at an emotionally low point. Edmont only saw the spoony bard side of her personality at a later point when she was less burdened.

Oh and Congrats Emet! There are two of them Bards now!

One more. In the off chance that the other song is about Lue-Reeq instead of G'raha. My brain happens to interpret it as the G'raha option on account of metaphor/analogue./My WoL's poor sttempt at being poetic. It still feels more like G'raha's story than Lue-Reeq.

Rukia was getting really tired of Lue-Reeq and his chocoboshite. Tail end of the 76 physical role quest.

“Hey! Wake up! Wake up damn you!”

Rukia rubbed at her head, those Echos were getting really fucking irritating, how in the seven hells did Mingxia deal with those?

Ugh what was the catboy whining about? Rukia wondered.

“That’s the second time your so-called “gift” has cost us a chance at slaying Andreia!” Lue-Reeq yelled.

“It’s not like I can control the damn thing you vainglorious prick.” Rukia growled. She had the remnants of a headache, and Lue-Reeq was not helping.

“You bi-” He started, but took a breath. “Y’know what, screw this, I’ve had it! I don’t need your help! I am perfectly capable of hunting the sin eater on my own!”

Rukia glowered, he was getting dangerously close to being at the business end of her knives. “I’d like to see you fucking try arsehole.”

He turned away from her and started walking back. “Upon our return to Gatetown you will be given your final payment and we’ll be free to go our separate ways...”

Rukia glared at his retreating back. “Useless prissy richboy of a coward.”
