On the verge of making a de-aged luther fic revolving around my headcanon that r*ginald used his siblings as leverage against him so that he would behave.

I 100% believe (in my headcanon), that luther hated his fathers GUTS. He would behave like the perfect little soldier in front of his siblings but when it was just the two of them? Man he would be spitting insults like it was nobody's business. Would argue and belittle and snark and be disrespectful to the man who makes their lives living hell.

But why lead his siblings on to believe he loves him?

Because Reginald beat into him from an incredibly early age that if he makes one mistake, one step out of line, his siblings would pay for it. For example, he spoke out of line (quite rudely), in front of allison, and later that night klaus was shoved in the molasuem (I can't spell that for the life of me) for well over 4 hours. And hes never forgiven himself.

Then, at 15 years old, he's told that he can leave. But the price would be his siblings trapped in the house forever. So what does he do?

He stays.

Because he's number one. There's no hope for him. He belongs in that house, with him, alone. But its okay, because Diego joined the police academy, Vanya is following her dreams in becoming a musician, klaus isn't forced to sit in an uncomfortable boys uniform and makeup less in a ghost ridden death chamber, allison has a child. And Five and Ben? Luther hoped that from whereever they are, they finally understood.
